My computer cannot connect to a WPA2 wireless network.

I'm on a Dell inspiron 6000 with Windows XP and service pack 3. I recently used a WPA wireless connection, not all of a sudden trying to use this new network, I can't connect.  I type the key network and nothing.

What I can do and if anyone has any ideas, I'd appreciate it greatly,
Thank you

    I am trying to connect my laptop Toshiba T9000 to my BT home Hub 2.0 Wireless v but a little difficulty.
    The laptop recognizes the hub, but every time I click on connect, I get the same message.

    ""Windows cannot connect to the selected network. " The network can be is no longer in range. Please refresh the list of available networks and try to connect again"

    I went through a few troubleshooting steps to resolve this problem, but always without success.
    Can I update the driver? My inclination is that this may have something to do with the laptop is not able to support WPA?

    I am not very computer but if anyone has any additional input to help me with this question then I would be very happy.

    > Can I update the driver? My inclination is that this may have something to do with the laptop is not able to support WPA?
    This may be possible

    The point is that this laptop is an oldie and the wireless network adapter appears to be old too.
    I ve no idea what WLan card you have, but you could try to connect to the WLan without use of encryption settings. Disable encryption on the router Wlan and test connectivity again. of course, this must be done only for testing purposes
    The wireless network must be always secure

    The alternative could be the use of external USB WLAN, it would be the easiest and fastest way for that to be resolved

    Hello

    ·          You have the updated drivers for the network card?

    ·          Have you been able to connect to the network after replacing the router?

    If not, you can check the settings of the router and if your computer has the correct router configuration.

  • Cannot connect or find a wireless network already in memory

    I'm having some trouble connecting to the wireless network I have in my house. I already had the network wireless saved on the laptop, but now I have difficulties as well to find the network and also to connect manually. You have any ideas what I can do?

    Restore point:

    http://www.howtogeek.com/HOWTO/Windows-Vista/using-Windows-Vista-system-restore/

    Do Safe Mode system restore, if it is impossible to do in Normal Mode.

    Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

    Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...

    Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.

    http://www.windowsvistauserguide.com/system_restore.htm

    Read the above for a very good graph shows how backward more than 5 days in the System Restore Points by checking the correct box.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    If the above does not resolve the problem:
    ·                         Go to the website of the manufacturer of your router > make sure you have the latest Firmware in Vista for it.
    Go to the website of the manufacturer of your computer/notebook > drivers and downloads Section > key in your model number > look for it last network adapters Vista drivers > download/install the.
    Try without commitment TCP/IPv6:
    If you still have internet connection probs, one thing to try is the separation of the TCP/IPv6 (which is done by going to network connection > right click > properties > it uncheck > OK.)
  • Win7 computer cannot connect to other computers Win7 network "\\computername is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource ".
    I have a Windows 7 (box A) system that cannot connect to files shared on another computer in Windows 7 (box B).
    • On the 'network card' and 'See the network computers and devices', I can see box B of area A.
    • I can ping Box B of area A.
    • I can connect on MEDIA sharing on box B of area A.
    • Area C (another system of Windows 7) I can connect to the B area and am presented with a box of authentication to connect to the shares (i.e., box B works as it should).
    But the box has double clicking on box B or using \\computername or \\IP_Address the dialog box run, I get the error:
    ----
    \\computername is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions.
    The network is not present or not started.
    ----
    I know that the system is available, because the area C can access... But something's not on the box... It cannot connect to zone B or C. Box
    I have disabled the firewall on both systems without result.
    I reinstalled the network adapter and Client for Microsoft Networks is installed on the box.
    Yet somehow box's not connection to other computers on the network.
    Any thoughts on what I should check would be appreciated.  Thanks in advance for the help.
    OK... so I was able to track down and get it fixed...
    I found another symptom (that would be a good way to check and see if you experience the same problem).
    In the network and sharing Center, I clicked on "Change advanced sharing settings" in the left column. I found that the radio button under "File and printer sharing" was put on the OFF position.  I started and saved the changes, but when I returned in these settings, it is once again in the off position.
    It turned out that the workstation service is set to disabled (which also caused the computer browser service for not being able to boot). I activated the workstation service, started, and set it to automatic.  Then did the same for the computer browser service.
    Both of these services running, the "File and printer sharing" it will remain actually on IT, and I am able to connect to other devices on the network in the way I had to.
    I can't mark this message as the solution (perhaps because I posted it?) so if someone he will quote as their response to the post office, I'll be able to mark as answer.
  • HP OfficeJet Pro 8610: Printer cannot connect to the new wireless network
    I got the OfficeJet Pro for a while and everything worked very well (including wireless printing from my Mac and iPad AirPrint). Yesterday, we got a new Modem Router (from Ubee). As I tried to connect the printer with the new network, I fail miserably.
    Here's what I've tried several times: on the small screen of the printer, I select: Network Setup > wireless setting > Wireless Setup wizzard. The printer seems to networks, find the network and asks me the password, I get the password (I did this several times, so no typos!). The printer then "trying to connect to the network"... then it crashes: for a very short moment, I get a blue screen with a white error code (not always the same, for example.) B3FF3802) and then the message "error in the printer, turn off the power, then press.
    I turned off the printer and turn it back on several times (incl. pulling out the power plug and restart after a while), but when I go through the steps above, but I just get the same endresult.
    I deleted the old network as I feared it might interfere with the creation of the new network. No noticeable effect.
    I printed the "results of the wireless network test," which confirms that "your HP printer is unable to connect to your wireless router. In the results of the diagnosis, he states that 'network name (SSID) was found - Fail.
    I quite understand the message that the printer detects the network and shows good SSID / network name. I thought to enter the SSID manually but can't find where I could do.
    I'd be very grateful for any suggestions on what could be the problem (I can't imagine that the printer would not work with a new router... I searched the internet and found stuff on 'Hello compatibility', but do not know which is the issue I'm facing.
    Thanks for your help!
  • HP LaserJet 1102w Professional P cannot connect to protect the wireless network
    Hello guys,.
    I have a customer who has this printer works very well until 2 months ago but now I'm getting problems to get the WIfi connection
    The script like:
    -Dlink router without password, with active MAC filtering.
    -MAC address of the printer (enter the Wifi list)
    -Manuel IP defined in the configuration of the printer page
    Now the printer only get connection to Wifi if I disable the MAC Dlink filter. If the filter as it is enabled, the printer remains offline (with blue led "blinking").
    Any ideas?
    You can connect without filtering, and then in the address mac filtering to add the mac address of a list generated automatically rather than manually typing it?  can activate filtering?  Is what model dlink router?  Also is there any other devices that are connected to the router by using the filtering?
  • XP SP3 cannot connect to WPA2 wireless network, but can Debian on the same PC.
    I have a Toshiba Portege M200 dual-boot Windows XP Tablet PC Edition with Service Pack 3 installed and Debian GNU/Linux codename Wheezy with Debian non-free package firmware-ipw2x00 allowing my wireless adapter to use and wicd package to manage wireless connections.
    Two operating systems are able to connect to a WPA - PSK network automatically without any problem whatsoever.
    Debian is able to automatically connect to a WPA2-PSK network without any problem, but simply Windows doesn't connect at all.
    Windows shows the WPA2 network in the list of available networks and correctly recognizes as having the WPA2 security.  However, when trying to manually connect, Windows ask me the network key (I have enter), then spend about two minutes «Waiting for network...» "with the usual animation and indefinite progress bar.  Windows back me to the list of available networks window, then shows me not connected to everything as if I didn't choose any.  When waiting for Windows to connect automatically, Windows will sometimes appear a bubble icon connection wireless network saying that it could not connect to one of my favorite networks but that he will continue to try.
    I get no error message or any other message of any kind.  Windows just trying with fanfare and fails silently.
    The two operating systems have updates of installed operating system vendor.
    Someone at - it ideas?
    To give a vision a little to the solution "install a new driver" discussed in the Technet forum thread, it seems that the problem here is the same as that commonly encountered when trying to update printer drivers: a user downloads the new driver and installs it but the problem remains.
    What happens is that if the older driver is not removed all first, it is not replaced by the new driver.
    Windows installs hardware devices using INFs.  They are located in % windir%\inf.  Actually, the previous statement is incomplete.  The first time that a device is installed, Windows uses the INF file to create a corresponding PNF file located in the same directory.  The PNF file is a "precompiled" version of the INF file and Windows Setup actually uses the PNF file because it is "more effective" to do.
    If you download a new driver and replace only the INF file and do not delete the old driver files, when you 'day' the driver, Windows Setup examines the old file PNF which points to the old files and uses.
    Then... either completely uninstall the device or at least delete the PNF file appropriate before attempting to install an updated driver.
    And download the new driver from Toshiba or the manufacturer of the adapter wireless in the computer.  Don't understand from Windows Update.
  • Cannot connect HP D110 to my network using WPA2 wireless
    Hello
    I have a linksys router 160n with two apple airport expresses in bridge DHCP mode.  Each wireless access point's own channel: 1, 6, 11.  They share of SSID and password.  Security is WPA2. I have not activated the MAC filtering. I have multiple and varied devices connected to this network.
    Here's the problem: I can not connect my D110 printer to the network with WPA2 security.
    The printer can connect with security disabled but obviously that is not an option (or just WPA).
    Thus,.
    1) has any related person a D110 printer to a WPA2 wireless network?  If so, how?
    (2) the printer does support WPA2? (no WEP or WPA)
    (3) other tips?
    Thank you!
    OK, some other ideas:
    1. ensure that 802.11 g is turned on.  Other modes may be present, but g must be activated.
    2. change to channel 11 on the main access point (adjust others as required).  I know it's strange, but...
    I stopped to receive mail after December 31.  It indicates that the computer cannot connect to my account but when I log in with my password I get the message "this account already exists." How can I get my email account to work again?
    MacBook Air, OS X El Capitan
    First of all, make sure that you don't have two accounts with the same address. What happens if one of them is an iCloud account.
    From the Mail menu bar, you select
    ▹ Connection Doctor window
    In the window that opens, look for an SMTP (outgoing mail) account with a name that corresponds to the account that you are trying to add. Double-click it. Another window opens, displaying the list of all outgoing mail accounts. Click the sign button less to remove the corresponding one, and then click OK.
    Try to add the email account again. If you still can not, log off or restart the computer, and then open the preferences window accounts Internet and check if the account is displayed.
