  Vista Business SP2. I have a Satellite Pro P200-1KE, with two 160 GB drives: a Hitachi configured as C: (operating system, programs, etc.) and E: (data, other programs).   Anyone know anything else I can try - preferably without having to reinstall the entire operating system, or run the risk of using Toshiba Hardware Setup that does not seem to come with all the instructions and enigmatic, who wonder if I want to delete stuff 'selected', without showing me what kind of things I am alleged to have selected for removal!

  If this second HDD is not so important to try to start the original installation disk Microsoft (Vista or Win7) to see if the second HDD will be recognized for the installation procedure.
  You can also try to install Win7 on this second HDD to see if the installation is correctly finalized. Later, you can check if you can start the second HARD drive preinstalled OS.

  Test just to see if this problem is related to Vista only.

  Years, I kept my large collection of music & audio book, etc. on a USB key, keeping my clear computer memory. I have set itunes NOT organize or copy music, leaving in the folders I find convenient. I have no problem setting up itunes and adding music and audiobooks to itunes then manually transferring what I wish for my iphone and ipod. However, if I accidentally open itunes on my computer, when the usb drive is disconnected, or have used the computer with this disconnected, when I reconnect the usb drive itunes tells me that

  If iTunes is open and can not find the location of the library designated, it will immediately default to the local disk.  So, even when the replacement of the USB, iTunes won't to get there.  So, if you want to have your library on the USB port, always make sure that it is connected before launching iTunes.

  Whenever I work with external devices via USB ports (all kinds of devices but my external hard drive Smartdisk CrossFire and my iPod in particular), after a certain period of time (sometimes minutes, sometimes hours) the laptop loses connectivity with the device.

  If happens to be listening to the music, download photos from a camera or laptop computer for the ' net or sync of the iPod, the connection is cut off, turning off the device and I have to start all over again!

  You will find the option called allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.

  I would recommend the brand and disable this option.

  If you look at the pie chart to JDiskReport, you should be able to click on the segment called 'Google' and get more details.  Individual files should also appear in the left pane.  Google itself shouldn't take up to 4 GB - use - you Google docs?

  When you run JDiskReport and let it scan your whole drive (C:\), at the end of the scan there should be a box in the center of the pie chart giving the total amount of space used.  Is this the same amount shown as 'Space used' If you go to desktop, right-click on C:\ and select Properties?  Otherwise, what is the difference?

  To see exactly what is on your drive, follow these steps:

  Open disk management (start > run > diskmgmt.msc > OK).  You should see something like this.

  The default view (shown in the screenshot linked) presents all the "volumes" in the upper pane and all the physical disks in the lower pane (view > Top > list of Volume and display > down > view graphic).

  The computer shows the screenshot has two physical disks, labeled in the lower pane as disk 0 and disk 1.  There are 7 volumes (drives or partitions, or colloquially)--4 these volumes or disks are on the physical disk 0 and the other 3 are on the physical disk 1.  As you can see, Windows XP and Windows Vista are installed on this computer (in separate partitions).

  With the exception of the rounding errors, if you add up all of the sections shown in each line in the lower pane, you will get the total physical capacity of the disk, also shown at the left end.

  At this point, only look in disk management.  Don't be really something (like deleting something).
