my files show that I'm missing windows\system32\dfg.msc

When I try to defragment my system it says I'm mising windows\system32\dfg.msc

The error message probably indicates that dfrg.msc is missing (you left the r).

Do a search on your entire C drive to DFRG.msc

Assuming that he is really gone, download on my SkyDrive, and put it in C:\Windows\system32.  Click on--> here
Note that depending on which browser you use to download it, you can not see the MSC file extension in the list and when you download the file it also doesn't have the correct file extension.  If necessary, rename the dfrg.msc file when you save it.

You can also defragment your drive by opening a command prompt window (start > run > cmd > OK) and typing

Defrag.exe {press Enter}

You must use the switches and parameters, as explained here--> http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/defrag.mspx?mfr=true

For example:

Defrag.exe C:/v {press Enter}

    For the #5 step, you are able to go in the C:\windows\repair folder and then look at the file "system"?  If you do not have the file repair or that the file is not in there, he can point to a larger problem.  In addition, run chkdsk /r and see if that helps.  Then run SFC/scannow and see if it is able to repair any problem.
