  My Iomega external hard drive seems to be missing on my mac. But I see the drive light on when you are connected to the USB port.

  I use an old iMac & an Iomega hard drive that worked without problem. I took travel & when I got home, I connected on the iMac, but I don't see the icon. I find deposit on Finder & also I tried turning / slideshow, external drive on Finder.I see all other connected external drives but not this one. I do not see it listed in the disc utilities. I tried to connect to another Mac & still have the same problem. Can someone tell me what is happening?

  I've never used the Iomega drivers on the mac, but everything worked well. Do I need to download Iomega drivers?

  It seems that the Iomega company is more then what I do and who should I speak?

  I use the last BONES of El capitan.

  This system worked before Windows 8.1 it has been upgraded to Windows 10 last year. It's my boyfriends computer and last night it kept getting blue screen dreaded with errors on his hard drive. He kept ignoring. Then, his computer's battery died and when he started upward, he could get a blue screen and act as if it would repair itself and would just start all over again.   I'm afraid that the PC is now a useless paperweight because of the BIOS update has failed.  There is usually no recourse other than to replace the motherboard.

  If all goes well, you were able to recover the files before that happened, and if not, get a SATA cable adapter USB and read the hard drive on another PC.

I have the project saved on several external hard drives, but I spent last week working on the project on A external hard drive, is no longer only than the other drives.

  I was working on my project, and all of a sudden a warning popped up message, warning THAT FCPX has detected a problem, exit FCPX now to save your project.

  I left FCPX, I have encountered this problem before and have had no problem leaving FCPX and restarted with the result of everything being fine.
  I did it once again.  But this time, when I opened FCPX back, my project disappeared! I don't know what to do!

  The project is loaded in the timeline panel, but the project is empty.

  Don't you see the external hard drive listed in Device Manager?

  You can also check if the hard drive is listed in disk management.

  a. click the Start button > Control Panel > system and security > administrative tools.

  b. double-click on computer management.  If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

  (c) in the left pane, under storage, click Disk Management.

• Hard drive missing from 'My Computer' but installed and visible in Device Manager

  I just bought and set up a new computer, the Intel core i5 processor and motherboard asus p7p55d the with Windows7 64-bit home premium. I have 2 hard drives, sata 1 500 sata drives gig and concert 1 250 drive.
  Windows is installed on the 500 GB drive.
  In the bios, I see the two hard drives in Device Manager, I see both hard drives but in 'my computer', the hard drive is missing, which means that I have no use of it...
  It is like a record of work for the next Adobe programs.
  I tried to disconnect the drive physically and re - install, I uninstalled in Device Manager.
  I am at a loss of reason why I can't use this drive, does anyone know how to fix this?

  Check disk management to see if the drive is there. It must be formatted before you can see in the computer.

  Right-click on computer and select manage, then disk management.

  SATA has largely done away these older issues. Do not have any problem at all with a hard drives discussed above, or any other 2.5 inch width 9.5 mm thick computer hybrid laptop drive SATA or even more recent SATA solid state or by car.
