My headphone port works not

the headset I tried to work on any other device, but not this laptop. even, the lap top does not record that the headphones are connected. I tried all the stuff I saw this site to recommend. None of this has worked. This is a fairly old laptop, and this has been a problem that has persisted.

Hi Ncleknt,

1 when was the last time it was working fine?

2. the internal speakers work well?

3. did you of recent changes on the computer?

I suggest that you connect other headphones to the port and check if it works.

If using the internal speakers, then the ports do not work and you will need to get in touch with the laptop manufacturer for assistance.

  • My headphone port does not work.

I have a Windows Vista laptop and my headphone port no longer works. When I plug my headphones in, only the right speaker works. It worked before but stopped when I turned it on this morning. I tried to restart my laptop but it still does not work.

    Please respond quickly!

    Hello

1 when was the last time it was working fine?

    2. did you of recent changes on the computer?

I suggest you connect other earpiece to the front port and check if it works, it's to check if the port is not bad.

Also, make sure that the default audio device is properly set on the computer.

Verify that the default audio device is correctly set

    (a) click the Start button, click Control Panel, click hardware and soundand then click sound.

    (b) click on the read tab make sure that the correct default audio device is selected. (For most users, the default audio device's speakers and if you have connected headphones then it should be set as default device)

    (c) if the default device is not set to the right audio device, on the read tab, select the appropriate device, click Properties, click the Advanced tab and verify that the default Format is set to the value you expect. When you are finished, click OK.

    (d) on the Read tab, select the playback device, click set upand make sure that the configurations are set correctly.

    (e) if the sound settings are set correctly and that your speakers are already set as default device, go to "Check if an audio driver is installed" now.

    (f) select the audio device you want as audio device by default, and then click set as default.

    (g) click on OK to save your settings.

Updated a hardware driver that is not working properly

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/update-a-driver-for-hardware-that-isn ' t-work correctly

If this does not work it could be a problem with the port which is connected so need to check if it works well or not.

Try to move the holder after connecting the port and check if it works fine in both speakers or not.

  • Satellite L650 - eSATA port works not

    Hello

I am owner of a [Toshiba Satellite L650-14F | http://se.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/ro/product/Satellite-L650-14E/1086065/] laptop that is running 64-bit Windows 7 Ultimate.

I recently acquired a [ICY BOX IB-319StUS2-B | http://www.raidsonic.de/en/products/external-cases.php?we_objectID=6831] drive enclosure external HARD who takes in charge the SATA II 3.5 "hard drives and can be connected to the computer via USB 2.0 or eSATA.

I use it with a Samsung SpinPoint F3 1 TB HARD drive. The problem is that I can't get the eSATA port to work. I enable in the BIOS, SATA interface is defined on the performance and the AHCI mode. I installed the latest Intel drivers for the SATA controller and eSATA, as well as the software Intel Rapid Storage Technology (RST). If I connect to the enclosure via eSATA, that nothing is happening. Intel RST makes external SATA port as empty and no drive appears in Device Manager in Windows.

The drive works properly by the USB bus and even via USB in the eSATA port, because it is a port eSATA/USB combo.

At first I thought it was a faulty box or cable eSATA, with which it came, so I returned it and got a new. However, after seeing that the new behaves exactly like the one I started wondering if there isn't a problem with the hardware with the laptop. I started searching the Internet for similar behavior. I met a lot of reports of external hard drives not recognized on eSATA in Windows 7 64 bit, but work fine on XP or Windows 7 32-bit, especially with 1 TB drives and more.

I've also seen a few similar reports with eSATA on Toshiba laptops on this forum. I'm not really sure how to proceed in this case, or what can I do else except for the installation of Windows XP and Windows 7 32-bit to see if it works there. But even if it works, this still does not resolve my problem. I don't want to go back to XP, and I would not like to use Windows 7 32 bit on a system with 4 GB of RAM.

Any other suggestions would be appreciated and as I open this thread for other people in similar situations to contribute their experiences. What worked and what didn't.

    Thanks for the comments.

If everything is OK and right drivers all USB ports should work. You cannot install the drivers for each port separately and force one of them to work properly. On this machine, all three ports are the same USB2.0 ports.

    Try reinstalling the chipset utility.

By the way: two other ports work well, right?

  • Satellite Pro L10-103 - USB ports not working not

Hi, my Satellite Pro L10 - 103 USB Ports do not work. I tried different things and finally my Advisor rubbed my computer clean of all programs and operating system. After reloading of the set up disc and having lost my dear some programs I am no further forward. It still does not.

Anyone know if this means that it is a mechanical problem with the computer? (I use Windows XP). Your help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hey Buddy,

As wrote Akuma did you use the Toshiba Recovery disk or the Microsoft Windows disk?

After installing XP, make sure that Service Pack 3 is installed. It contains important updates and can be downloaded on the official page of Toshiba.

In addition, try to remove all the USB ports on the Device Manager, restart the computer. Ports will still be recognized and ready to use once.

That one of my USB ports work correctly - that next to the DVD player. The two rear appear to be defective. Sometimes, they will work, but usually isn't. I tried it with different settings of the BIOS for example disabling USB legacy mouse, KB and floppy and COM and parallel ports, but it did not help.

    Hello

Try to remove all the USB ports on the Device Manager, and then restart the device. Check again the ports with different USB devices. If the result is the same, it must be a hardware malfunction. Maybe the contacts!

I'm afraid that the appliance must be sent to the service. :(

  • Dynadock USB Ports not working not

I have a Toshiba Dynadock (unfortunately I do not know the model number I can't). It is less than a year and has two USB ports in the front, with 2 Sockets (I guess that one of the earphones and a microphone), has 4 ports usb at the back and probably a DVI/HDMI port as well.

The problem is that none of the USB ports work on it, you plug a USB device into one of the ports and Windows 7 does not detect something that is attached. It was working fine until recently, and then the printer started to play up by printing only a few lines in a document that you asked to print, and then after that nothing worked (I don't think that the printer is at the origin).

When I reassembled the eject button on the dock, Windows recongonises ejection and hot flashes with the software Dynadock saying "Dynadock has been ejected" or similar.

The computer is a Toshiba. I reinstalled the drivers, made a restore to a date when I heard he was working and have restarted the dock, but nothing worked so far. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

    Thank you
