  • How can I use a JPEG file as a background image for my vi to 8.5

Im working on a vi that I intend to help as part of an alarm system.  I would use a JPEG file of my house as a background image for the vi, or possibly to just display in a window on the control panel.  I've seen people use their own images before, but never looked at what it was.

Im trying to use the 'read JPEG' file vi and the flattened pixmap 'draw' vi to achieve this.  The vi works, but nothing shows up on the front panel.  If I try to create a "new image" flag out of the flattened pixmap 'draw' vi, I get a blank white window on the front panel.

    Any advice?

    Thank you

The image could be there just not to come to the right place in the image control. What is the control relative to the image? Must be a JPEG file or can you just copy as a bitmap to the Clipboard and paste it on the front panel? Can you put a photo and the unworking VI?

  • Computer hangs during the transfer of 16 jpeg files.

Recently, I replaced my Toshiba Satellite M40 PATA hard drive and reinstalled Windows XP SP3.  Subsequently, I find transfer more than 16 jpeg files (approx. 1 MB each) at the same time causes the computer freezes.  I have to shut down the computer and restart and sometimes the computer is 'always' Hung/frozen after restarting Windows (mouse move no keys, ctrl + alt + delete work does produce no action) which necessitated my stop down and restart the computer again.

This problem occurs during various methods of transfer-to transfer pictures from my card SD using the scanner and camera or Nikon transfer software, trying to copy and paste pictures from the SD in an empty folder, and the problem occurs even when I try to spend more than 16 images from a folder in another.  I tried to transfer images from a folder with the computer in safe mode and the problem occurs when I try to transfer a little more than 16 images at once.  (my SD card, has about 60 images on that.)  There is no error message or any other message - the computer simply crashes.

I did not have this problem before reinstalling XP.  There seems to be no limit to the size of the transfer that I could perform. I can't wait to find out how I can remedy this problem.  I am familiar with writing code, check the registry, etc, but I'm good enough following the simple procedures.  Thank you for your help.

Original title: file transfer causes XP to hang, no error message

    Hi RobertMorouney,

Thanks for posting in the Microsoft Community.

In addition, how are you doing today?

You have a problem with the computer hung on the transfer of files on Windows XP. This can be very frustrating for you, and I appreciate the efforts you have put in. Let us work together as a team and try to get this fixed number.

    Method 1-

    Step 1-

Trying to transfer files in Mode without failure.

    Check out the link-

To start the computer in safe mode

    http://www.Microsoft.com/resources/documentation/Windows/XP/all/proddocs/en-us/boot_failsafe.mspx?mfr=true

Note: Make sure that you get the computer back to Normal Mode after performing all the troubleshooting steps.

Proceed to step 2, if the problem does not occur in Mode without failure.

    Step 2-

I recommend you perform the clean boot.

Placing the computer in a boot minimum state helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem. You must perform the steps in the article-

How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" State

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310353

Note: Make sure that get you the computer to a Normal startup after performing all the troubleshooting steps.

    Method 2-

I wish that you run a Chkdsk command on the computer.

    Check out the link-

How to perform disk error checking in Windows XP

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/315265#Method1

Note: The Chkdsk command will try to fix bad sectors on the hard drive. All the data on these sectors may be lost. The computer could go to a State no boot as well. Proceed at your own risk.

    Thank you.

  • Vista seems to be corrupt JPEG files which XP was ok with

JPEG files which I have kept for many years and transferred on CD have been very well until I changed from XP to Vista a few years previously. My work with videos and still images has been very well with Vista t but glancing back older jpegs, I find that the copied versions on XP to Vista have a high percentage of images corrupted. It's complicated by the fact that Vista will not recognise the CD with XP.

Can I recover files corrupted on Vista?

There are forum copious comments on Vista corrupt JPEGs, yet Windows answers hardly addresses the issue (on the last page of 50 pages of customer problems).

  • Vista is corrupting my JPEG files

I have Vista for several years now and there has been a recurrent injury. + 40% of the time when I create or copy a JPEG file. The JPEG format is corrupt. It got to the point that I came back to my XP machine if I need to do something with a JPEG image. My last gambit was to reference the URL of an image that I wanted posted to eBay. I logged on to ebay to my Vista machine and referenced the URL of the image that I wanted and when I posted to eBay that it was corrupt (he resembled a composite multiple images into one). When I performed the same operation from my machine XP image has been transferred without problem.

Y at - it a fix for this problem?

    Hi Douglas,.

    Follow these steps:

    Method 1:

Create a new user account and see if the problem is recurring in the account newly created.

If the problem does not persist in the new user account, it could indicate that your old user account is corrupted.

For instructions on repairing the corrupted user profile, see repair a user profile corrupted .

    Method 2:

Scan a file system (CFS) checker on your computer and see if that fixes the problem.

SFC tool scans system files and replaces incorrect versions of system files by using the correct versions.

I was not aware of this problem until recently, so I can't tell you when it failed.  I went to search for images in the file and now they won't open.

    Hi BWildAussie,

    ·         Are you able to open other.jpeg files in MS Paint or Windows Photo Gallery?

    ·         You did it of any material changes or software on the computer before this problem?

    ·         What is the file size of JPEG files?

For now, I suggest you to copy two .jpeg files to another computer and check if you are able to open them.

Please provide us with more information so that we can help you in a much better way.

Your thread earlier today deals with the question of the layers, the JPEG file format is not supported. If you want to save the file with layers, save as PSD. To load the referenced site, save the file in JPEG format as well. After you have downloaded, remove the JPEG file if you are short of space.

Go to Image > mode and make sure the RGB color is checked. When you go to file > save as, in JPEG, the ICC profile is sRGB IE C61966 - 2.1 (on my current test file).

JPEG file format does not support maintaining the structure of the layer.

Suggest you save critical files such as JPEG and PSD.

  • Cannot save file from CC 2015 to Lr as a jpeg file.

    Hello.

Thanks for the help.  I was on the phone with a form of Adobe technology for at least 45 minutes after, wait at least one hour support to get to him.  After 45 minutes and him having to take control of my computer, it says that it cannot be done. So, thanks for the advice.  I really appreciate the time you took to answer my question.

After that I went to the psd in the Preferences tab I can now save images from CC 2015 in Lr as a psd file.  But when I'm done with all my improvements now want to flatten image and save it in jpg format s and send, Photoshop/Lr does not save it in the Lr catalog, but it saves it in the bridge.  Is it possible to save it as a jpg file to Lr?

    Hi Theo,.

I'm sorry that you waited for a long time during the call.

Although Theo, what is happening here that when you take the image from Lightroom to Photoshop which is actually a .tiff format.

As you said have you flatten layers, you can save in Jpeg format, but surely, that reflect back Lr.

As when we press the Save as command in photoshop, it's one more copy of that image and it ask you for the location where to put it.

If this copy automatically imported to Lightroom return.

The best way you can do here is that you can save as JPEG in the same folder where is your original and then you can go to lightroom-> right click (ctrl + click (MAC)) on this folder and then click on synchronize.

This will open the dialog box and gives you the ability to import to Lr without opening the import window.

Of this a way you can put this JPEG file in the same catalog.

Let me know if it works for you.

    Thank you & best regards

  • How to save JPEG files in PSE5.0?

Ok. Newby Q again.  How the hell do we know what to choose when it comes to saving an image in JPEG format?  the following three boxes will appear:

    IMAGE OPTIONS:

    QUALITY >

    FORMAT OPTIONS:

    REFERENCE >

    PROGRESSIVE >

    SIZE:

    up to 2 Mbps?

As a general rule, if you are going to archive your photos in JPEG format, you want to save in top quality as possible. It would be with the slider to the right or the number "12".

Usually, "Standard" would be the way to go. He wrote the photo in a single pass on the screen.

"Progressive", wrote the photo 3-pass across the screen and is usually used to download and view files in a web page.

The dialog box of 'size' you refer gives you the approximate time (in seconds) you need to download the internet photo with 56.6 bps. (dial up) At least the weather is referenced for dial-up internet to the PSE5. If the speed dialog box gives you this information, [1]; size of the photo (in KB) [2]; time to download (in seconds), [3], internet high speed of reference.

If you are considering a re-editing your photos at a later date, consider saving in a lossless format. The PSD and TIFF file formats support save layered and don't 'compress' the file whenever it is worked on. "PSD" is the native format of Photoshop, so it could be argued that it would be the better of the two. Since a scanner mode "Lossless" would save in TIFF, Photoshop would need convert PSD files. A jpeg file would be better suited to a photo in which the editing process has been finalized and is heading to the printer, or maybe aunt Martha in an E-mail.

One last thought is that the quality allows you to "jpeg", a file and the size of the file itself, is largely dependent object. For example a photo that you intend to make public on "Flickr" must be sized down and and jpegged to average quality. Present in case the photo is uploaded, your work will not be in full resolution and quality, therefore limiting its usefulness to viewing only. In any event, a photo uploaded on the web absolutely must be a COPY, not to alter the original in the way that I have described.

  • Photos, convert and replacement RAW to JPEG files

    Hello!

I've been googling and looking for forums of Apple, and I've not found a way to do it again. I'm not sure that it is still possible.

I have a MacBook pro with a nice little SSD. Take RAW photos is gourmet area, and many of them lying around. Is there a way to replace the RAW with a JPEG photo-generated file to save space?

I thought to export to JPEG, removing the RAWs and import JPEG files, but then I will lose the album information they contain.

Is there a way to transform the RAWs in JPEG, then delete the RAWs to save space? Or is it easier to simply delete?

Any response would be highly appreciated!

Export and re-import are the only way to replace the originals.

And it takes if ensure that the original RAW have been deleted from your library and iCloud, before you reimport the JPEGs or Photos will be STINKING RAW format. At least, this happened to me several times.

You could try to export and import after assigning the name of the album as a keyword. Each album individiually, export

According to reimport the photos create a form of album pictures of the last Import. You can aalso use the albumname keyword to search for them.

When all goes well, remove the keyword, you no longer need.
