My officejet pro 8000 just started to print an alignment page after each print job.

Ive had my printer for about a year now with no problems.  Then I got the message that I had to clean the print heads I did it in the machine and manually. I found one of the printhead was damaged then succeeded him. Now, AFTER each job, it prints a page with lines down on the side of the page and gibberish.  This, of course, consumes a lot of ink, so how can I solve this?

Ive tried re-initialization of the printer by pulling the power cord and USB cord, but it does not work.  There is no screen but I followed the tutorial online to set up the printer, but it does not help also.   Ive checked for new drivers, and there was none.  Any suggestions?

This seems to have solved the problem.  Thank you for your attention to detail and timely responses.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8000 Wireless: Unable to print labels on my HP Officejet Pro 8000 Wireless color inkjet printer

    Hello Forum,

I don't want to appear redundant, however, I always have the same problem, cannot print on different media (for example. Labels, Matt / glossy papers, etc.) other than plain white paper. As I said in my original post (below), I tried different settings, different programs, etc., without any result. The printer does that pass through without printing media, leaving the error / blinking yellow light.

I believe that this printer is able to manage different media other than paper white just to 'stick '. Again, I ask your help to solve this problem. It is and has been, very frustrating trying to overcome this restriction of printing!

    Thank you all!

    (Original post)

I can't get my HP Officejet Pro 8000 Wireless inkjet color printer to print CD / DVD labels. I have tried various printer / paper options but the printer just feeds the media (in this case 'Fellows' brand matte CD 2-top) then spits it right back with result error amber light flashing.

Printing has a sensor that determines if the paper is loaded and feeding properly into the printer.  If you print on media that is colored or printed features we can confuse the sensor.

One thing to try - cut a strip of the sticky part of a post-it note maybe 1 "wide by 1/4".  Attach it to the top left of the sheet of labels on the side to be printed, the long side on the short side of the paper.  This will then put face down into the printer, with the band on the upper right of the tray paper.  After printing, you can remove it and reuse it for the next page.

The alignment page will print until it completes successfully.  Try print a page of diagnosis as on the Six Solution on this page. Do all color printers correctly?  The alignment will fail if the parties in black and color do not print correctly.

  • Pro8000 prints the alignment page after each print job

I replaced by a black ink cartridge and printed an alignment page and did a print head cleaning. Now, an alignment page prints after each print job and cycling the printer off, then on. I turned off the printer and unplugged the printer and restarted the computer and still get the same results. I then took each cartridge and reinstall each cartridge and still the same results. I reinstalled the old ink cartridges and still the same results. Running out of paper, maybe cut down another tree. Any help would be apprecaited.

    Hi tommy61944,

I understand that you have a 8000 Officejet Pro which prints an alignment page after each print job. I'm sorry to hear what is happening, but I'll certainly do my best to help you.

I would suggest you have a look through this Alignment Page printed each print task, specifically the three Solution: print and evaluate a page impression diagnostic quality. Fact the print look page like the one in Figure 10: print a Page of Diagnostics quality? If not, that's why it keeps printing an alignment, a color can be print not correctly, or will need to be replaced. If your ink levels is all good, so maybe it's the printhead (s). You can clean the print heads manually and remove any buildup that could cause problems.

Hope this helps, have a nice day!

I use HP Photosmart Studio to print, but get the same error every time: "the selected printer supports the paperwork without borders. If you print, will serve the maximum printable area of the current paper size.

I downloaded the most current driver after that I improved and I was able to print in general - when I try to select borderless printing it tells me that this printer does not support. I was able to print without margins using Creative Suite Indesign and printing of this app--but have lost the functionality of the HP Photosmart Studio is really a drag - since I have to do all sorts of adjustments to do workaround printing.

If you always reminants of the HP software meant for 10.4, you must uninstall the software by using the "scrubber".  If you have already uninstalled, reinstall from the CD, then:

Go to Applications/Hewlett Packard / click Uninstall HP
    Click on continue
Highlight your device in the left pane
Hold down the Ctrl and Opt Cmd and click on uninstall< scrubber="">
There will be a pop up that asks if you are sure you want to uninstall all hp software. (At this point, if you continue, all HP printers you have installed will need to be reinstalled)
Click on continue and let it finish

    Restart your Mac

    Now run a software update.

Finally, download and install the "Full Featured" driver and software from the "Support & drivers" link at the top of this page.

  • My Officejet Pro 8000 A809 do not print, but there is no error message

When I try to print on my Hp Officejet Pro 8000 from my Windows 7 laptop wireless, the laptop is of the view that printing took place. I get no error message. But nothing comes out of the printer. Sometimes this small error on the printer flashes, but because the laptop thinks everything is fine, I can't understand why. I've run the troubleshooter, who says he has no problems, and rebooted the printer and the computer more than once as well. My printer (HP Officejet 6500 a) wireless works fine. Does anyone have a suggestion?

    Thank you for your help.

Thank you for you a message.  My printer worked fine with my Windows 7 laptop as I upgraded from Vista in May.  This the first time this problem has occurred.  I have change a color ink cartridge in the morning that it has stopped working.  But, he continued to work for about 3 hours after the replacement of the cartridge, so I don't really think that's the problem.

Hi Jenny and thank you for getting back to me!

I suggest to remove the printer from your printing system, using this document: uninstalling the software of the printer.

Once you have deleted, I suggest to check and repair disk permissions: function to fix the permissions of all utility disk drive.

I also run your Apple updates: OS x: Mac App Store apps and OS X update

After the updates, I recommend the printer time: installation and using the printer on a Mac.

Good luck and please let me know how it goes!

  • OfficeJet Pro 8000 a809: black only printing

Why my printer will not print black when color cartridges are low or empty?

    Hello

To protect itself damages normally do to the "missing" items (in this case the inks that can cause damages its print heads) it stops printing, even during the warm-up of the process.

    Hope it makes sense.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8000: Deficiencies only in print in black at the same place on the page, enough new printhead

Have run diagnostics and repeatedly cleaned print heads, calibrated etc, but still get breaks in the prints in black, in the same places, regardless of what is printed and on the entire page. Attached pictures show a print quality. Thank you, in advance.

Thank you! It is a new printhead HP and this is the one. Contacted dealer today and I come to replacement/Exchange.

Had read these articles, but wasn't sure if there was something that I missed.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8000-only 1 color prints

After that I changed all three dimensional ink, only prints magenta (and black) color. I tried to clean the heads, but again only black and magenta show.

If performing the steps described in the document I have provided in the Message 2 not resovle the issue, I suggest to call HP. You may need new printheads, or perhaps you could get a discount on a newer model of printer.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8500 stuck on every print job

    Hello

I have an OfficeJet 8500 Pro directly connected via USB (not via the USB hub) to a 2013 running 10.8.4 iMac

The printer is recognized (if I remove and re-add). But will only print one document at a time and must be rebooted between each print.

If I go to the HP utility and try to view the supplies or device information, I have to display the progress "during extraction of information" for 15 minutes. I have to force quit the program (which is reported as does not).

I have "reset printing system" in system preferences, which removed the printer. I put in place again without problem, while the Mac should be detect.

Need a firmware update? If so, is it possible to a Mac?

    Thank you.

    Hi mike@wall,

Thank you for the information. You are correct in your understanding that the built-in drivers should be you to print several pages at a time. I would say first for this question to verify and repair disk permissions. I've included the document '12.x disk utility: repair disk permissions', this will/try to correct all of the permissions that are set incorrectly on the Mac. Once permissions have been verified and repaired, it is recommended to restart the Mac. Once your computer has restarted, try downloading the latest drivers for Apple printing. I've included the link here for «printer HP v.2.16.1 for OS X drivers» Yet once the update is installed please restart your computer once more.

If this fails to solve the problem, have you tried another USB cable?

So is there any error messages when you cannot print? (IE. Printer offline, Communication, the printer paused).

Please let me know if that fixes the problem, thanks.

  • Ink levels HP Officejet Pro 8000 809

Why can't determine the ink levels on my HP Officejet Pro 8000 with the tab printer HP Print and Scan Doctor?

    Hello HPPete,

    Welcome to the HP Forums.

I see that you are having a problem with getting the HP print and scan from doctor to show ink levels. I will try to help you with this.

To start, make sure that the version of the PSDR that you are using is the most recent. It should be version 4.3.

Then the word "printer" will be grayed out in the top of the window until you have selected your printer and you press Next. To be able to use the drop-down list, you must be on the screen that shows "The difficulty of printing" / "Fix scan."

Once on this screen, you should be able to use the drop-down list and choose "ink levels". This will display the information of ink on another screen for you.

If you have found that up to now, and the ink level are not displayed, then there may be communication problems. Please let me know if this is the case.

I have also two other ways for you to check out ink levels using the PSDR.

This 'check ink levels' document will show you how to print a test page, which has information about ink and levels.

You can also use the HP Solution Center.  If it is installed on your computer, you should be able to open it and click on your printer icon view ink levels.

Please let me know if this was useful for you.

Thanks for posting on the HP Forums.

  • HP OfficeJet Pro 8000 Wireless: Can I get some help here? Yellow ink will not print - HP OfficeJet Pro 8000 Wireless

No matter what I do, ink yellow does not print, or stops at halfway printing on the page. I use genuine HP cartridges. There is a lot of ink - in fact, I just installed a new cartridge in the case where a previous (almost complete) was defective. No change. The pipe is not pinched. I flashed the firmware more recent and installed all drivers and utilities updated. I have cleaned the print heads over and over again and even took and cleaned according to the instructions.

I think it was a sign that the printer is worn EXCEPT - just a few months ago, magenta and black stopped printing. These are the opposite printheads. When I uninstalled every bit of HP software I could find, the printer back to normal!

The only thing I did not - it is the HP Toolbox argues that it is impossible to establish two-way communication with the printer. The patches for this involve get under the desk to play with the power cord and USB cable (even if it is a wireless printer), and my arthritic knees that make a very delicate operation. Two-way communication IS enabled.

I'm about to start crying. I fought with this market a week, when the yellow all of a sudden went - once again, * most * of the time, but sometimes it prints to maybe an inch of the image before disappearing. Help!

    Hi @Echo2,

Thanks for joining the Forums of HP Support for a solution to your printing problem.

I understand that you use a HP Officejet Pro 8000 printer with a Windows 7 computer and all of a sudden is not printing yellow ink. I would like to help with that.

Here is a document of support for the print quality problems - Troubleshooting print quality problems.

Please let me know if that solves the problem, or if you need assistance.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8000 - guard alignment page printing

I had trouble with black ink print does not correctly so after several cleanings I decieded to manually clean the print head. I took the printhead of the printer then whipped cream, the part where the ink comes out with a most paper towle. After that I put the print head in the printer prints a print alignment page. Ok. Now, every time I have print whatever it is that the printer will be after the print job is printing another page of alignment. Is there a way to stop? Thanks for your help.

    Hello TheDeerSlayer,

When you clean the print heads, you should try to not clean the part where ink is coming out of it (nozzles). It is very easy to damage them and if it happened, most likely the only way to solve the problem is to replace the print head. There are two things, you might try to see if you can get the print head working properly again: first thing is to clean the sensor that checks the nozzles. It is located on the right side of the printer at the bottom of the area in which the cart moves, it looks like a strip of metal which is only visible when the transport is located on the side more to the right of the printer. Be sure to use a cloth moistened with cold water. What you might try if this does not solve the problem and the nozzles are just clogged with ink and not really damaged, is to heat water (almost boiling point) and then soak the part of the printhead whith the nozzles in the water for some time. Let the printhead to dry and then install again and see if it works now.

This picture is of you can location of the sensor that checks the print head nozzles. The image is not so great and is an another printer, but it is located in the same place on Officejet Pro 8000.
