my test app instantly close on the device

Hi all

I have the following problem:

I created a dummy-app (just a blank page with a Sprite on her listen to a key event) - and it does not work when I play it on computer office-air-debug-player.

However, when I deploy the application on my device (which works, I see the icon and the name and everything) - it will show the splashscreen (it is not custom, yet) for a very short time and then just closes the application.

This happens in all cases: when I debug the FlashBuilder 4.5 or when I create a release build (which is still signed) and install it via the command line.

I'm the author and authorId in the blackberry - tablet.xml I put the version numbers in the two .xml files.

What else could be missing? Some help would be really appreciated - thank you!

see you soon,

olsn

Have you read this about Flash Builder 4.5?

  • Backgound App should start after the device to start

Currently, I made soft to work by clicking on it, now I want to do as a background

    Problem:

    (1) I want my app to start after starting the device is finished.

Personally, I don't like the method of 'sleep' suggests BBDeveloper, and which is also in a KB article.

Search the knowledge base for this and the reason why you may need to use alternatives.

I'd rather have a listener and use the method of power if the unit is start-up.

If this issue is related to a Thread of yours that I have already commented on, there is no need for you to worry if you are inStartUp or not - your background code will run OK.

  • best way to test mobile models without owning the devices

I'm testing web phone and Tablet designs, but cannot afford to buy same devices 3 or 4 and still less the dozens that need to be tested today. What is the best way to get accurate results without buying a dozen of aid. I have a subscription 'CC', but there is apparently nothing to help. There used to be a program called "Device Central" in the creative suites, but it disappeared. I left design 2 years ago because of all the design tests question but would like to start over.  I'm tired of watching the tutorials on the subject, only to find out that they don't work without the devices.  Advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. TIA.

You'll make yourself crazy trying to conceive for each device.

Create your sites a combination of responsiveness (using queries media to target a small number of the most common devices attached) and liquid (using width percentages calculated for 'steps' in your MQ of transition smoothly on the intermediate devices).

  • Signed app refuses to launch the device - how to debug?

I'm trying to get my first (Powernap) app to run on a physical device.  It works well in the Simulator, but it will not start when I try to put on a real device.  I do not yet know where to start, when I press the icon, nothing happens.  Literally nothing.

When I tried to install the application before I signed it, I received the standard message on the application tries to access the secure API (its an app webworks who plays sounds).  But now, after that I signed, no message is displayed, without luanch scree, etc..

I tried to delete the app, unsigned, by restarting and then re - install.

I think that I correctly sign because I don't get any errors.

How can I know where is the problem?  Pointers?

  • Path of the application on the device

    Hi people,

I just developed my first BB app and deployed on the device.

I have added a text file to the request referring to http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/Java-Development/Add-plain-text-or-binary-files-to-an-applica...

What I need to know is, on the removal of the application of the phone, this file also automatically disappears?

Also, how I find the physical location of this text file and therefore the .cod file on the device?

the file is inside your cod. whenever the operating system stores files of cod, it is not accessible by the user.

If you remove the application, the file also disappeared.

  • Mobile apps between Mempry card and device

Is it possible to move applications from your device to your memory expansion card and vice versa? I recently downloaded QuickVerse on my memory card. It works but it is so slow, that I thought it might be faster if the app has resided on the device.

Never mind. Model that figured it out!

  • Ease of Installation App for a test on the device

App is ready and tested on the Simulator and the device. Bar the file is signed and ready to be tested by our client.

Is there an easy way for our clients (non-technical users) can install and test the application on their PlayBook?

We need to tell them to download the SDK software and install it using the command line? It seems a really complicated way for our customers to test the app (and it must be tested by them before submitting them to the App World). I was told there is no OTA way similar to how the apk files are installed on Android.

How everyone do that? You tell your customers to download the SDK? If so, are there docs online that show the easy steps on how to do it?

Here is a zip file that contains all the files required along with a batch file simple for the loading of the unit.

You just need to unzip and place the baf file in the same directory and type:

    password pbdeploy appname.bar ipaddress

    EDIT *.

The user will also have the JRE installed on their PC.

  • What is the best way to my test app on Android devices?

I am a great Apple user and can test my application physically on old devices iPhone 3, 4, 5 and 6, as well as several iPads.

However, I don't know where to start with Android. There is a paid service that allows me to test on all the most popular devices? HTC Galaxy, Note, etc.?

    Hi Chris,

You ask about a way to run your automated tests on a high-end devices the Android, or someone else to take a test plan, and then manually run through it?

If you want that your tests automated to run on multiple devices, I suggest you have a look at AWS unit closed. Here is a list of their devices: list of devices. The best use of the system is to develop tests automated in a setting like the gourd.

Even if you don't have automated tests, they can always run your application through a battery of tests of "compatibility" to assess the stability and the compatibility on a wide range of devices. You can view the screenshots to see how well made design.

As an end-user of DPS, however, most of your tests can be subjective tests, the content is constantly changing. It is more difficult and I would recommend developing a simple battery of automated tests that will allow you to see a few areas in the application, such as the tops of the pages browse that you want audited, and perhaps every page in the article so that you're not just getting back random screenshots. System such as CPU and memory usage metrics will help you determine if you have created an article that is too demanding of system resources.

You will need to use a preview of the application builder application to test the new content.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

  • How can I call the 'device Email App' with my application

    Hi all

I want to call the 'device Email App' through my application through email-ID.
How can I do it in a smart way? I mean once I close the email app, should return to my request.

    Have you tried that?

    UiApplication.getUiApplication().invokeLater(new Runnable()

  • It is close to the app tool?

When sometimes I want to get out of the app I can't because there is no tool for this... You must fix this too.

Also, Firefox is designed according to the platform of Google a newer version of Android. Users can press the icon to the right of the home of the device icon to display a list of running applications, and then drag an application out of the list to close it.

  • App hangs on the device, but works well on Simulator

Hello! Last week I had an approved app and it is already in place in the BlackBerry App World. Before being approved, he rejected once, the e-mail message noted that "when testing your app on BlackBerry Z10, I found that he was unable to throw."

I replied stating that the app has worked very well in the Simulator and asked some tips to solve the problem. It seems that the application got reparsed as overnight has been approved.

Today, I had the chance to test my application on a real device and I found it crashed right after the launch.

I don't know what could be wrong with my application. I'm guessing that the reason of this problem could be something similar to this thread; but I think I'm not directly joking with the camera in my code, everything is built on Air.

Could you point me in the right direction please?

    Thank you in advance!

What version of the OS is the device running?

AIR 3.5 is not supported up to 10.2, which is not available to consumers right now better I know.

If the camera is turned on between 10.0 and 10.1, check that your application - app.xml file appeals to AIR 3.1 namespace and not the AIR 3.5 namespace.

  • Test the application on the device without a SIM card

    Hello

I wonder if there's a way to test an application on a BlackBerry device, which is not enabled by the carrier / does not contain a valid SIM card?

According to this post (http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/Java-Development/Testing-app-on-8130-device-with-no-cell-serv...), the answer is no, but it is from 2008.

    Thank you!

You can if your device is equipped with wireless Internet access.
