N200 unrecognized hard drive

Hello

I had a problem and now the hard drive is not recognized when I insert the XP installation CD. (he appears on the BIOS).

I found this page: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-67897

and I think that's what I need. Only problem is that the driver is looking for a floppy drive and I can't seem to install the USB disk on key.

It is said:

"Specify f6flpy32.exe with name full path where you extracted the package in step 1 and double-click on".

Arian has an idea of what that means? for example, I have the file on: D:\Documents\Personal\Lenovo and my USB is on f: what is the command that I need to write to install the driver on F:?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Lenovo will disrespect you or you do not understand the steps. The AHCI driver can be called from a floppy drive. Of course your N200 lacks a floppy drive, as well as Lenovo says here... .and I quote...

Installation Instructions

 1. On another system, extract this package onto the hard drive.

 2. Connect a USB-Floppy Disk drive.

 3. Specify f6flpy32.exe with the full path name where you extracted

the package in the step 1, and double-click.

You will need to either buy a USB floppy drive, buy a portable internal floppy drive or use one of the other two methods that I posted above to integrate the driver.

And if you plan to do this, I suggest that you download the latest F6 floppy driver from intel. Located here for 32-bit and 64-bithere.

You must be sure to hit F6 when asked and specify ICH8M when you are asked to specify the AHCI controller.

  • 15 t-n200: replacement hard drive dead: what should I buy HP replacement, or everything will work with recovery media?

    I have a HP Pavilion 15 t-n200 laptop computer running Windows 7, 64-bit.

The computer got extremely slow and work stoppage. HP diagnostic indicates a failed hard drive, and my warranty has expired. I DO NOT have the recovery media.

My question is this: if I buy the recovery media for my HP computer, should I also buy HP hard drive for it to install correctly? Or can I just simply buy a HDD from a local retailer and use HP recovery support (and the certificate of Authenticity on the back of Microsoft) to reinstall WIndows 7?

Some people suggest that it will work very well, while other members of the forum here have talked about issues and something of tattoos on the hard drive or the Council.

Thanks in advance to anyone who responds!

    Hello

No, you don't need to buy the HP's HARD drive, you can buy anywhere, but please use the same band (normally from Toshiba, but please check the label) for the compatibility and capacity or more.

    Kind regards.

  • Tecra 9100 unrecognized hard drive

    Hello
If I replace the hard drive in my tosh bios indicates no hard disk is installed.
The new hard drive is MK2016GAP I tried with and without the master/slave relationship.

    Clues?

    Hello

The MK2016GAP is a 20 GB HARD drive.
I searched the Internet for the Tecra 9100 and discovered that the phone comes with 40 GB or 60 GB HARD drive.
BIOS shouldn't t so no problem with the size of the HARD drive. The size of the HARD drive is certainly supported.

So I think it's a problem of jumper or you did not connect the disk HARD corectly.
I put t know how the jumper was set to your old HDD, but you should check the position of the jumper and put it also on the new HARD drive.

  • Satellite Pro 4320 unrecognized HARD drive

    Hi all

Please bear with me while I explain the disorder, that I am.

I am a newbie in things pc & they gave me the laptop above to play with. He had only a small 6 GB HARD drive, so I bought a 30 GB internal disc used to install.
I have the disc and followed the instructions on the internet on fdisk and formatting.

Put the CD with the XP operating system and put XP on the drive. It worked fine for a few hours until I installed a network thingy usb dongle... then I'm nasty BSOD screens and couldn't go in the disk at all.
The laptop refuses to recognize the drive.

I tried to use an old Win 98 boot floppy in and none of the commands fdisk or format will take place, he said that there is no drive C.
I also tried the XP cd, but will go only where the loading of drivers/utilities, then it stops and says that he does not find the disk, then press F3 to exit.
I updated the BIOS to new supply & even that did not help. I must have done something wrong for lack of experience to get to this stage that the disc was recognized first.

BTW, it will still recognize the old small hdd
Someone at - it suggestions how I could get this disc recognized again?

Thank you for taking the time to read this

    Hello

Have you checked if the 30 GB HARD drive is distinguished by the BIOS?
You need to access the BIOS settings and the full name of the HARD disk and the size must be visible in the BIOS.
If this is not the case of the something might be wrong with the new HARD drive

So please check it first and report the results

  • unrecognized hard drive.

I have a hard drive with windows vista home premium, but it does not start and don't want to be recognized by the pc. what I would do. Sometimes it shows when I use it as a slave, but when I'm looking inside, it desapears from my computer.

Go to the website of the manufacturer of the hard disk and download their program of diagnosis/test for the hard drive.  Run it and check the hard disk.

  • HP d530 - unrecognized HARD drive, "Non system disk or disk error"

    Greetings,

It is a computer from a friend. It seems that he has lost the CD or diskettes shipped with the computer. I see that recognition of HARD drive does not seem to occur in the SETUP (BIOS), so I guess as a floppy disk or a CD some is necessary.

Only startup options that are currently available are:

    CD-ROM

    USB

    Floppy drive

No hard drive recognized. I was able to boot to the CD-ROM drive with a Linux LiveCD, but it also confirmed that no HARD drive is recognized at the time. I guess it is possible that port IDE 1 is dead.

I have tried to reset the CMOS operating in SW50 5 seconds, but that has not helped to recognize the HARD drive.

    The model number is:

    HP d530

    SFF (DC578AV)

    p/n DC578AV

Restore XP on this machine would be the best option, but if I can get the recognized HARD disk and install a version of Linux, it would be OK also.

    Thanks for any help,

    Doug

Assuming that the hard drive is on a different IDE channel as the CD drive, try swapping them.  If the CD is always considered and the hard drive is not, it would make sense that the hard drive is faulty.  If the Linux Live CD can not see the hard drive after the Exchange, a sign that it's done.

Have no drive sys restore op original.  Op sys is XP Pro.  Using another Xp Pro CD and enter the recovery console, the disc is visible, chkdsk ok and format ok.

BIOS indicates the hard disk.  When you use the XP Pro cd, when you are prompted to continue and install op sys, received the message, no hard drive installed? no password has been enabled in the bios.

Hard SATA placed in the caddy and possibility to format the hard drive.

    Any idea of it please?

    Concerning

    Airchairmaster

You need the storage SATA ahci ich7 driver loaded at the F6 prompt at the beginning of the XP installation. You can do this either by using a usb floppy drive or "slipstreaming" of the driver in the XP install CD using nLite. Post back for further instructions if you need it. I note the driver you need is not on the driver for the nc6320 page, but this one will work... is a floppy, or can be used with nLite:

    Hard drive:

I was wondering if this unit can use an SSD?

    Thanks for your comments

    Hello

The link below is the manual of your device

    http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c04438537

Supports up to 12 GB of memory system max (module DDR3L 1600 MHz), (Page 2)

For hard disks according to the manuals, I don't see that it supports standalone SSD.

  • Can I Exchange my hard drive to an another n200?

    Hi, I have a problem with my 3000 n200.

    I´ll try to make the story as short as possible;

My first problem seems to be that the power adapter died (battery was not charging and nor was the witness of battery ignition) so I bought another adapter, to my distress that didn t work.

So I decided to take a look at the connection for the power supply. Again, I could see no problem with that really. My fear is that if I replace the power supply and so I will move on to the next element in the chain.

However I have a slightly tangential solution. On Ebay, I found th same model without hard drive (a receipt) or food (Got 2!) and lack of a few pieces of minor cosmetics (easy stuff) and a good price too.

So my question is... often I simply move on my hard drive to the new laptop (ebay)?

I m very aware that I'll probably have to install windows again, that s no biggie, I ve been a good boy and saved. I prefer of course switch simply on and everything be back as usual but I m a realist.

My big concern is the file restore and recovery on the hard drive. Will I be able to reinstall windows from this or I have to buy a new copy of XP (is it still possible today?) ID much prefer to continue to use the same laptop due to some music software I run and ExpressCard location which I use constantly. I need continuity at least for some time organize my projects.

Thanks in advance and sorry to be so talkative.

its supposed to have the same characteristics as the original. then, you should be able to use it as your original computer, but make sure that you have disabled the bios password if you have one on your old computer.

  • N200 bios flashes-> hard drive not found

    I have a Lenovo 3000 N200 0769.
I downloaded the upgrade of the bios on the Lenovo site. The laptop stood awake for a few minutes after the launch and completion of lightning with explore does not, including the flash window is complete, normally closed.
When he started upward again, I got normal screens, finally windows XP startup screen showed, but as soon as the blue line arrived in the second or third place, the computer go to the black screen asking for a normal boot, safe mode or the configuration was last started. All these options have led to a blue error screen that was shown for only a half second that I couldn't even read the error number, then all reeboted again and I got stüch with the display of black selection again.
When I tried to repair windows XP CD (R key), he said that I have not installed hard drives. I got the same message when I tried to reinstall XP. The bios displays the installed drive. I also tried resetting the bios, no change. I found the article on the community of lenovo on how to reset the cmos, but it seemed that I had failed, either. Anyone alse said his drive Id changed to another thing and causet problem, but does not list how to fix that.
I don't know what else to do. I need the data on the laptop ASAP and I want to say.

Someone on FixYa said I need to remove the cmos battery and this is supposed to be under the keyboard. I removed the keyboard, but can't seem to find the battery. Is anyone please tell me where it is? I saw all the batteries in the world and I can not find even when it is... or maybe I have gist never seen one like this yet or what?

BIG MISTAKE! Version 3.03 of bios is not the best for this model, especially if only a few months (like mine), has made in my case 3.03 caused trouble on the events of interruption-recovery repeatedly crashes on the post. Actually recovered 3.05 bios original and questions solved all this. Later, I will put the download link. You don't need to worry about bsod, simply change the sata to ide on bios mode and windows will go up. (the provided vista can assume the two, xp requires a change of driver before)

  • Install the new hard drive into the Pavilion DV2660se - full-size unrecognized

I have a Pavilion DV2660se and recently began to receive messages from failure on my hard drive.  I was able to order a replacement - it is the same model # former disc, same size, etc..  I installed the drive, then started the system with the recovery discs.  It has been chugging along now for about 3 hours. While the process was ongoing, I was able to look at the drive and to see that it is only accepted with 24 GB instead of the 250 GB is it really.

Any suggestions on what I can do to install this player and have all recognized?  Thanks for the tips!

Well, I'm back, don't ask me how, I can at least with all rebuild...

  • HP Pavilion 15 t-n200 CTO: new hard drive Help

    Hello

Laptop was not start at all or take 15 + minutes to start.  I did a full reset by removing the battery and was still stuck on the Hp logo.  Conducted quick system check.  All passes except Hard Drive short DST check: failed.  Failure ID: GGFFTX-7407SB-MFPV6J-60V103 product ID: F6G93AV

Date of purchase was 08/05/2014 so out of warranty & cannot get help from support.

I guess I need to replace the hard drive?  Is this correct? I need not recover files or data of the machine, so from own is fine.  I want to upgrade to windows 10 once I get it - the initialization of the disorder began when I tried to upgrade, then machine evolves to 8.1.

How can I find the specifications to order a new hard drive to make sure that I get the right thing?  Currently the car is ATA & 500 GB. Machine has Intel Core i5-4200U CPU @ 1.60 GHz Machine is not a touch screen.

Of course, I'd appreciate any help someone could pay before ordering something.  Thank you!

    Here is the Service Manual:

    Manual

See p. 59 for hard drive replacement. Unfortunately, yours requires a bit of work to get on the hard drive, involving a removal of the top cover, but not the motherboard.

You definitely need a new hard drive and the system will accept any 7 or 9.5 mm thickness 2.5-inch wide SATA hard drive or disk solid state drive.

I'll assume that you are located in the United States, unless post you back and let me know if not.

I settle down to less than a mechanical drive of 7200 RPM like this:

You can also make a hybrid that has a bit of the State solid and also tops mechanical like this:

    http://www.Amazon.com/Seagate-laptop-2-5-inch-internal-ST1000LM014/DP/B00B99JUBQ/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&QID=1448743986&SR=8-3&keywords=7200+RPM+laptop+hard+drive

The best and fastest are a SSD drive like this:

    http://www.Amazon.com/Samsung-2-5-inch-internal-MZ-75E500B-am/DP/B00OBRE5UE/ref=sr_1_2?s=PC&ie=UTF8&QID=1448744072&SR=1-2&keywords=Samsung+850+Evo
