  I have now abandoned and rebuilt my laptop using the recovery partition.  The upgrade to Windows 10 came immediately, and it installed fine.

  I see that you have some problems with printing to your craving 5530 e - all - in - one printer after upgrade to Windows 10. I can help you with that.

  To start, make sure that the printer is plugged directly into a wall outlet, not a surge protector. Once done:

  1. Turn the printer off.
  2. While the printer is turned off, disconnect the power cable from the back of the router for a minute.
  3. When the lights come back on the router, turn on the printer.
  4. Close any programs you have open on your PC.
  5. In your search type in printers bar and open devices and printers.
  6. Right-click on any icon of your printer listed.
  7. Click on remove the instrument.
  8. Repeat for all other icons of your printer listed.
  9. Click Add printer, and follow the prompts to add a new queue for your printer.

  I don't think it can be done if you can not separately disable legacy startup and disable secure boot.

  Windows 7 will not work with active secure boot.

  Use the button at the top of this page titled 'Support', then click on "Download drivers" in the menu. Enter your model number. After you click "Go".   Your Chipset section is important. Section - network you need Realtek LAN Driver for internet cable and, probably, driver Realtek Wireless wireless. It could be Intel, but first try the Realtek Wireless.

  You can download the drivers on another machine - and burn it to a cd, if your laptop has a cd/dvd drive or save to usb flash drive - you should have 1 usb 2.0 port that works. The other usb 3.0 ports require the driver under chipset. If you can just get the wireless operation, you can return to your support page to install other drivers.

  Long story short,

  I just wanted to upgrade the pre-installed Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - bit to the new Windows 8 Pro 64-bit.

  So I waited until the driver for Windows 8 support has been completed by HP.

  This month, I noticed that HP has released a graphic driver for Windows 8.

  Happy as I was I installed Windows 8 immediately via upgrade function.

  I installed all the missing drivers.

  * Update Bios to F.08*

  I noticed that I had to upgrade my Bios to version F.08 to install new graphics drivers. I did the upgrade and installation of the driver.

  BUT after the update to the version of the Bios the laptop only F.08 recognized the AMD graphics card. The integrated Intel HD 3000 graphics card had disappeared!

  Even after installing the new graphics driver, the Intel card is still missing in the 'Device Manager' of Windows 8.

  The battery life is now about 1 1/2 to 2 hours maximum because the laptop always uses the card AMD.

  So I looked in the 'new' Bios, but I have not found a way to change the graphics card. So I think that there is only a 'software' switch to do so.

  I have installed "AIDA64"and look under "Graphics".» The graphics card Intel HD 3000 has been mentioned as 'disabled'.

  Nice, but I have no idea how to turn it on again.

  So I re-installed Windows 8. This time, I did a completely clean install. With the same results.

  So, I switched to Windows 7, and there you go. Two graphics cards are displayed in "Device Manager" and the switchable graphics feature works perfectly (! even with the new version of the Bios F.08!).

  * Tested in Bios Version F.09*

  Yesterday, I noticed another Bios Update. This time in version F.09.

  So, I updated the Bios with Windows 7 installed.

  Everything went well (I thought!).

  Once, I've done a completely new installation of Windows 8 to take a peek, if Intel HD 3000 card will be recognized this time.

  BUT without success...

  So, I thought that the problem could only be Windows 8, because Windows 7 works perfectly.

  * Problems with Bios Version F.09*

  BUT then, I noticed a strange behaviour of my laptop:

  -proximity sensor no longer works

  -the keyboard backlight cannot be (DIS-) activated

  -the brightness of the backlight is half as usual

  -internal fans are going crazy-> they accelerate without reason (laptop is idle) and won't slow down until I do a re-boot

  * Version of the Bios downgraded to F.05*

  So, I spent to the version of the Bios to the older Version available: F05

  And I was a little shocked by the result.

  Windows 8 acknowledged the Intel HD 3000 graphics card again!

  The problem is the Bios!

  Then, I upgraded the version of Bios version to see which version of the cause of the problem:

  Œuvres F05

  Œuvres F.06

  F.08 does not work

  F.09 does not work

   

  So I decided to stay with the version F.06

  BUT to install the new Windows graphic 8 driver you need the version of Bios F.08 (min.).

  I installed the driver anyway...

  I found myself with a black screen... I had to reinstall Windows completely.

  Yet more long story short,

  I ended up using Windows 8 Pro 64 - bit with the graphics card AMD only.

  I also updated the Bios (back) to the version F.08 dispelled the problems with the version of the Bios F.09 I mentioned.

  So for the moment I am absolutely no idea what the problem might be.

  The support has not yet heard of these problems and I have not found any website which explains the same problem.

  Every posting, I found explains that the AMD card is not recognized by Windows 8 but Intel HD card.

  Someone else got the same problems?

  What do you think? Is it really a problem with the Bios?

  What can I do to solve the problem?

I tried to update through windows update and through the USB with no success so far. My last option will be to do a clean install of windows 10.   HP does not recommend installing Windows 7 on a computer comes with Windows 8, and it will support the installation of Windows 7. HP doesn't provide drivers for Windows 7 and the appropriate drivers are not available for the hardware in the computer. In addition, Windows 7 can not take in charge some of the hardware or software designed for the computer.

  Make sure you create your media recovery HP or USB Flash Recovery discs before you edit or change anything.

  You will need to DISABLE 'Secure Boot' and ENABLE 'Legacy Support' in the 'Configuration of the BIOS start-up secured' on the page parameters below, until you try to install Windows 7.

  After you save the changes, the computer will ask you to confirm the changes... Accept the changes by typing the four digit code and press the ENTER"" key.

  

  Also, as the hard disk can be partitioned as TPG, you must start the computer by using the "UEFI - CD/DVD drive" or "UEFI - USB Flash drive" options in the boot menu "F9". If "UEFI - CD/DVD drive", "UEFI - USB Flash drive" or something to that effect does not exist in the start menu, please post a screenshot and/or make startup listed options.

  I suggest using Windows 7 SP1 for the best installation experience. If you need Windows SP1, see 'How to install Windows 7 without the disc' to download and create your own disc of Windows 7 SP1. If the DVD does not start as UEFI, you may need to use a USB Flash drive (can ask "Quick start" DISABLING in BIOS) as the installation media. Please note that some computers may not recognize a valid active UEFI USB Flash drive if it is formatted in NTFS and may require only a FAT32 formatted USB Flash drive. You should be able to make a FAT32 formatted Windows 7 installation USB Flash drive using Rufus, UNetbootin, Universal USB Installeror WiNToBootic. I like Rufus, because it contains options for 'Plan of GPT partition for UEFI computer' and 'FAT32'.

  You will need to provide the Intel AHCI / RAID drivers during the first part of the installation. Please download "f6flpy-x 64.zip" of Intel Download Center. Expand this download and make sure to extract the drivers and place them on a separate USB key.

  The reason you see the "load a driver - a required CD/DVD drive device is missing ' is because 'System Configuration' > 'Configuration USB3.0 in pre-start' has the value 'Enabled'. This must be set on 'Auto'. This should clear up the CD/DVD device is missing.

  

  You must start using the internal CD/DVD UEFI or UEFI-Key/key USB to install Windows on a GPT-partitioned disk. Turn on or restart the computer and press "F9" or "ESC", then "F9" when prompted. Select the source of boot UEFI you use and you press "ENTER".

  

  Windows 7 should start the installation process. You should now be able to load the Intel "F6 floppy drivers" from the USB key that you made earlier.
