NB100 - multi-core of BIOS settings & battery discharge while off

Hello, I bought the N100-R there are several monts. The unit is very reliable, but when taking take a closer look at the settings of the bios a few days ago I noticed that the multi-core enabled, while the processor is a single-core. After turning off I found that the drive produces some frequent hickups so intense, that the cursor starts jumping.
Overall performance seems to be less catchy with multi-core disabled.
The logs say nothing about the problem of hard drive, so I made a recovery today including about 168 updates in a row (as a nice side effect the update manager seem to be able to find the files of package again, which was not the case for two weeks or more).
My question is, why the multi-core is enabled on a machine simple heart?

The biggest problem is the issue of discharge while the device is in standby mode or even turned off.
Some entries to mention this issue recommending upgrades the core among others), and I wonder if Toshiba is about to face in the near future.
Here, even once, I played with the settings of the bios and disabled option wake-up-on-lan, such as recommended, however nothing has changed.
Thanks in advance.

Although single-core CPU, I thought they were hyperthreading (with what looks like two hearts to the BONE). In this case I guess that this setting disables hyperthreading?

168 updates? What is the first set of updates never applied? Sounds like a lot!

  • NB100: battery discharges in hibernation mode

Now that my hibernation function works OK, I used most of the time, I let the netbook.
So it is faster to recover after hibernation that restart.

But I notice that landfill of battery substantially; It is usually on the critical alarm level after some 12 hours of "hibernation".
    Is this normal?

The device is new and so is also the battery. He holds for about 3 hours in normal use.

    Hello

Usually the battery needed to dump also if the laptop would it boot mode (simply DISABLED). I read as the options enabled like Wake up on LAN, etc. needs a small part of the battery power even if the laptop is not enabled. Could the battery loses power during a night between 10% and 15%.
If the laptop is in hibernation mode the battery could lose more than 15%.

However, I think that you should check the BIOS settings and should disable options like Wake up LAN, etc.

  • Tecra A9: Cannot enable or disable Multi Core processing in the BIOS

I have a Tecra A9 and want to swicht out of the Multi Core Processing in the Bios, but it is impossible.

To the old Bios version (1.50), it has been possible.

Now I use the most recent (2.10) and I can't move the cursor to this selection.

    The special key strokes?

If this isn't the case - where can I download the previous version of the bios where this selection is possible?

    Thank you

    Ulli

    Hello

    > Otherwise - where can I download the previous version of the bios where this selection is possible?
This is not possible because it is always the newest available BIOS can be downloaded.

With regard to the option in the BIOS.
Do you mean you are not able to choose this option or you can't change the value?

    Toshiba BIOS:
Usually the buttons PgUp / PdDn would change the BIOS page. The arrow buttons to select items. SPACE or BkSp can be used to change the values.

But note; You can only change the value if it s interchangeable. But many options appear in the BIOS but is not editable.

I just purchased Toshiba NB100 and found following problem - battery discharging nearly 5% in a so portable time stored upright (computer is really off - no waiting, etc.). • Satellite Z830-10J battery discharge when the system is shut down

My new Toshiba Satellite Z830 10J ultrabook with Win7 64 bit. all updates, works fine and shows no anomaly, there is however a strange exception.

When the battery is completely charded and I 'pull the plug', the system runs on the battery for sometimes more than 5 hours, so I guess that the cycle of the battery is ok.

When the battery is now fully charged again and I SHUT down the system and not using it for a few days.
Then the battery is completely DISCHARGED to 0%, and the system does not start, until I plug.

This phenomenon occurs in less than a week. So: loading of the batrery 100%, turn the system off, pull the plug, want to re - use the system after 7 days, yields 0% battery charge.

Is there a specific reason for this?

    Greetings

    Roland Schweiger

    > It appears that one of the BIOS settings (disabling the sleep_and_charge or disable WOL) solved the problem

  • Battery discharging when NB520 - 10H is off

Looking for help with the battery problem.

When fully charged and then disconnected from the mains, the battery has the good life, a period of about 7-8 hours.
However, if the netbook is so off and remains with the battery overnight, it is quite dead in the morning, even if it was fully charged when it is off.

It is as if something is draining the power even when the computer is completely shut down.
It's really annoying and means I have to take the battery whenever that becomes cumbersome when transporting.
Only to have the net book weeks and apart from that, it's great.

Can anyone help with perhaps a setting that may be wrong or something?

    Hello

It s nothing unusual battery discharging if the laptop is OFF but its strange that the battery loses power in this little time.

In the BIOS Wake up on LAN option may affect the battery but the battery loose usually only 5-10% of the power.
However, go to the BIOS and disable this option.
Save the BIOS and check if that helps.

    Hello

I would say running through the procedure again as follows.

    Shut down the laptop.

Disconnect the power adapter and remove the battery.  Press and hold the Power button for 30 seconds.  Reinsert the battery and plug the power adapter

Demarrer start in the bios menu, disable Secure Boot and save change - then see if the subsequent PIN entry screen will be the entry.

  • CPU - bad slow BIOS settings

I ran CUP - z on my m9660sc (9600t USA) and to my surprise I discovered the Core i7 920 CPU only run at 1600 MHz.

Given the CPU is intended to be run to 2670 Mhz that I feel a little cheated, so I test the CPU at 100% charged and remains at 1600 MHz.

I check the BIOS settings... Well good luck with that on a HP Hardly. everything you can change. I'm surpised that I was allowed to change the time...

I know that the problem is that the multiplier is only set at 12, when he supposed to run at 20 x.

Then what should I do to get what I paid?

In Vista, make sure that you use the parameter profile of power is 'High Performance', is 'balanced' (Control Panel-> Power).  The power profile setting that locks the CPU at 1.66 Ghz on the m9600t is 'Power Saver'.

  • Restore the original BIOS settings?

Should I just remove the battery on the MB and put it back to get my original BIOS settings?

If you more pop to HP.COM support pages and search your PC, there are manuals for the motherboard for each system. And they show you how to reset your CMOS. Here is an example for a motherboard of Chicago:

Scroll to the bottom of the page and you will see the "Clearing CMOS Settings"

    Hi mweedn!

I understand that you see a reduction in the battery of your iPhone 5s after updating to iOS 10. It is important to be able to make full use of your iPhone! There are a few resources that can help.

Before the resolution of the problem, were you able to view information using your battery on your iPhone? Here's how to check the amount of battery used by each application:

On the use of the battery on your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch

When you answer, remember to let us know if you see all the apps with an abnormal amount of battery. See you soon!

  • Supervisor password and BIOS settings

When I boot into the bios via esc and F1, it doesn't let me go to all other pages, said the supervisor password is saved but does not prompt you to enter a password for the supervisor to make changes. I updated the bios to 2.0 version, but that didn't make a difference. I need to change the boot order but can not enter to change.

Someone at - it ideas? How can I force to ask the supervisor password? Or let me go on other pages?

    Thank you

    Hello

Are you sure you didn't put any user or supervisor password?
Usually, you can remove it by using the password of Toshiba utility.

In Toshiba Assist-> Secure, you will find the supervisor password and user password option.

Remove these passwords in order to obtain full access to the BIOS settings

  • Satellite R830: How do the BIOS settings password protected?

    Hi all

I installed a software protection against theft in my Satellite R830, but he suggested that I adjust the settings in the BIOS so that it will start only from the hard drive, and to make sure that no one else can modify it (if it is stolen), the BIOS settings are protected by Word.

Can someone tell me how to access the BIOS at startup settings upward?

    Hello

You can set the BIOS settings by setting the BIOS password.
If someone would like to change the BIOS settings, the password of the BIOS would be necessary.
