NB200-110 HARD disk cache

Hi @all,
My problem is the disk HARD is not visuable by Ghost or simular Backupsoftware, when I started the software via the external device, such as CDs or a stick.
I tried several times with BartPE or the Symantec Ghost bootable CD, no succsess.
The reason for my Question is, I will soon install Win7 on this Netbook and I will have the opportunity to go back to my XP orginate.
And by the way, a full backup of my HDD Netbook will help me sleep better.
If anyone can help?
THX in advance
Ciao, peter

PS. Sorry for my pidgen English, German Ia´m and I do not have the opportunity to speak or write in English. :-))

Hi peter

I had a similar problem and the reason was that I do not forget to integrate SATA drivers. As the user above writes Windows doesn t have this included driver so that you need to incorporate this driver yourself. You need the Storage Manager you can download here:
http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > support & downloads > download drivers

In addition, you can find it here in the forum of hundreds of discussions on the Storage Manager help. Check it!

  • installation and replacement of hard disk in the computer hp mini 110

I need help replacing a hard drive on my computer hp mini 110.

    HP Mini 110

    Windows XP sp3

I just posted a question about the installation of the operating system.  Fixed that issue but found another.  I installed the operating system and everything was fine.  I started to install the drivers and applications, and after you have installed hp applications the pc has restarted and came up with a message saying:

PRI Master Hard Disk: S.M.A.R.T. Status BAD, Backup and replace, press F1 to resume.

PRI Master: WDC WD1600BEVT-60ZCT1 13.01A13 ULTRA DMA MODE 5 S.M.A.R.T. Capable and BAD Status

I press F1 and it started.  I was still a few drivers requiring an installation.  Since I've installed just everything, there was not much to save.

I installed a different driver and rebooted and this time I hit F1 it didn't start.  I got a black page with a line of blinking cursor and nothing else happens.

After some research, I've seen it's a bad hard drive.

    My question is:

Is this something that can be replaced at home.  I can read the instructions.  What I need to get the same hard drive, or are there others that will work?  If I can do it at home, where can I find instructions to replace it and what is the best place to get the hard drive.  Is this what I need to know.

Thanks for anyone's help.  I'm sure I look like an idiot, but it's something I've not done in a laptop.  I replaced and internal hard drive in a desktop computer.  I remember myself set to land and out and plug in another.  I had the chance then because the computer had 2 hard drives.

I guess I'll need to reformat the drive and start over again with the installation of the operating system etc.

Would I be able to upgrade and install vista or windows 7?

    Any help is appreciated.

    Hi, Tamara:

Here is the link to the service manual for your laptop, which also lets you complete the You-Tube video.

    http://h10032.www1.HP.com/CTG/manual/c01895806.PDF

You can buy a 2.5 "laptop hard drive size 160 GB SATA II, should not exceed 500 GB.

You can get a 5 400 rpm model or a model of 7 200 RPM.

The difference between the two is that you will get better performance (faster seek times) a disc of 7 200 RPM.

However, it will be at the expense of the life of the battery between charges.

So, what you choose, it's up to you.

Here is a link to a site that sells hard drives of laptop.

They have great prices and there are a lot of feedback from customers that may be useful for you to decide which one to go with.

According to specifications, your computer can run Windows 7 well.

I recommend edit you your message and remove any reference to the discussion of smuggling copies of Windows 7. These assignments are not in accordance with the rules of the forum.

In addition, please keep in mind that a lot of these free copies of Windows can be loaded with traps that can steal your personal data and do other nasty things, including perhaps turn your PC into a Bot who committed illegal activities.  It is not worth it for me to install such illegally of is software and possibly have the bust of the FBI to the bottom of my door and arrest me for something that I didn't know that was going on with my PC.

It seems that the recovery XP disks are available for your PC, even if the link is broken, so if you want to reinstall XP, contact HP by telephone and you can get a set for less than $20.00.

Otherwise, you can get a game online site for $27.00 + shipping costs.

You get a legitimate copy of Windows OEM 7 (relatively) cheap at the link below.

    http://www.Newegg.com/product/product.aspx?item=N82E16832116983

Or you can pay double that and get the commercial version, which you can transfer to another PC. With the OEM edition, you can only use it once.

  • Acer R7 - 571 level disk cache to large SSD to the boot drive and keep the traditional HARD drive.

Is it possible to replace the drive 24 GB of cache in the R7-571 with a larger SSD (say 128 GB and 256Go) to use as the startup disk and keep the traditional disc for storage on the other?

I saw the references to individuals 'redevelopment' of SSD, but normally they keep the 24GB disk cache and upgrade their traditional 500 GB drive?
If it is possible to replace the disk cache of 24GO, it seems silly to keep it and throw a perfectly good car. Seems would not be much point in having the disk cache if your main player is an SSD.

Yes, I put a 128 GB Plextor M5M in my mSATA port. Make sure that you first create a USB recovery, then open the R7 and replace 24GO with your new mSATA disk drive.

Make sure that your new mSATA, not ordinary SATA SSD!

  • Drive hard test has failed Hard disk 1 (303) fast for my HP mini 110-3700ca PC.

    Windows 7 32-bit operating system.

After a tragic accidental "bump" on the table (I think even it's so serious..), the computer begins to slow down considerably, and when I tried to restart it, it shows:

    Windows error recovery

Windows could not start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause.

He recommend me to launch startup repair, but because the HP mini is not a CD-Rom... It shows the error status: 0xc0000225.

It's pretty obvious that bumping could damage the hard drive, so I tried to run the disk check, and "hard disk 1 (303) fast" was all that I've got ACE.

I put a lot of files on my netbook, and I am desperate enough to see that it works again. Help, please!

    Hello

Well, it of very sad, could also be due to physical damage. Anyway, please do a HARD test drive:

    1. reboot the computer.
    2. keep pressing the F10 key when appears the HP logo. This will take you to the Bios configuration utility.
    3. Select the Diagnostics tab.
    4. Select the option "drive hard test" and press ENTER to perform the test.
Note: This test takes at least 40 minutes (with luck)

Go - the hard disk is not damaged, you can restore the data.
Fail - the hard drive is damaged and may need to be replaced, no choice.

    Kind regards.

  • Is it normal that Firefox consumes hard disk space open?

Last week, I noticed the following 'strange' behavior of Firefox on my iMac (under Snow Leopard 10.6.8): while I have the browser open (usually on Facebook) my hard drive space appears to reduce (for example, 265,14 GB 265,01 GB). When I close Firefox and restart my computer, the amount of hard disk space increases again. He don't know if that happened in the past or if it's something normal. I have not installed extensions or themes, my plugins are all updated and I do not have a lot of navigation (the FB open Startpage and cat enough). Firefox doesn't seem to have performance problems, but I just want to know if there is a problem and if I could solve it somehow.

Firefox uses more a GB of space on my hard drive regularly (sometimes 2GB). This seems excessive - especially since I put the cache size to 500 MB.

  • Disk cache does not

I use the add-on for the status of the Cache and noticed last week that the disk cache half of it shows 'not yet loaded. At first I thought that the problem was with the add-on, I even uninstalled and re-installed, but still got the same message. Then I realize that the error was because the disk cache is not active somehow.

The upgrade to 11.0 FF last week, I made no changes to my configuration or installed any new Add-ons in weeks. I have a few additional modules related to the cache that I installed because I noticed this problem, in fact to diagnose this problem. All in their own way reiterates that the disk cache does not work.

The page about: cache? device = disk is completely blank in my browser. The purpose: cache page only displays the information of the cache and hide offline (i.e. 0, since I have it is off).

I added a "Cache" folder in my profile, and he has not made a difference.

No, I did not order my disk cache folder to a different location on my hard drive.

No, I'm not in navigation mode private unless there is a way to get in without my knowledge. With the menu editor I removed options incognito in my menus for a long time, since I never use it. He has also not checked in Options - Advanced - Privacy.

Yes, I have checked all the cache-related on: configuration settings. Everything is as it should be activated and assigned to a certain size of the disk cache.

How can I get this working again? It's a bit missing folder manually add to my profile, and if so, what is the path?

This behavior is a feature, not a bug. When the "clear history of firefox closing" setting is selected, the option to clear the cache too, the disk cache is completely disabled. See https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=709262 for more information.

It took me a while to understand this one.

  • Merging 2 partitions on a hard disk again on Satellite X 200-21 L

    Ok
my situation: I bought the Satellite X 200-21 L (European version of the X 205-SLi3) on this point, I have two hard drives with a capacity of 160 GB per disk.
But among the hard disks is divided into two partitions, the partition "C:" for progra0ms and vista and partition "F:" for what you want.
The second hard drive D: is normal without a split (160GB).
But now, my score of the first hardrive (where is saved the programms and viste) is full. Therefore, I want to know, if possible, to unite the two bulkheads again!

    -is it possible?
-can which program I use? Vista its own program to do this?
-I only have a recovery CD... so I don't want to lose my data! the hidden for the automatic system recovery partition could be damaged?
-is only possible to run such a program, which protect my data and unite those partitions without losing something?

    My hard drives:

    File data-system: NTFS
Hardrive-Capacity: 160 GB (two of them, one is divided into two partitions))
    size: 2.5 Zoll
    Rotation speed: 5400U/min
    Cache memory: 8 MB
    average access time: 11 ms
port (internal): IDE 40Pin (Ultra DMA/ATA-66)
    MTBF: 600000 hours
Engine technology: dynamic fluid bearing / RoHS compliant

    THX!

As far as I know that something like this is possible. You can do the following:

    1. remove all data of D on the second HARD drive
    2. open Computer Management > disk management
    3. click with the right button of the mouse on the D partition, and then choose the option Remove Volume
    4. click with the right button of the mouse on the C partition and select Extend Volume option
    5. simply follow the menu on the screen

  • Advocate for help with fast storage Y500 disk cache

Question: 1 to Sata and 16 GB mSata SSD drives got rid of all the partitions, and new copy of Windows 8 installed on the 1 TB drive. It is that I'm unable to confirm Intel Rapid Storage is configured to use the mSata SSD as cache drive, and I do not think that it IS configured based on see Win8 Disk Mgmt through that entire SSD (showing about 15 GB) is not allocated and is not be used by anything. Attempts to implement using link below do not work that there is no 'Accelerate' button in the Intel Rapid Storage Technology utility, as shown in the graphic in this post. I even installed the chipset driver before the util Rapid Storage according to the readme instructions I found out of the Intel site.

    http://forums.Lenovo.com/T5/IdeaPad-Y-U-V-Z-and-P-series/the-Guide-on-how-to-reformat-REPARTITION-an...

To answer this forward - there no option in my BIOS RAID, as seems to be the solution for other IdeaPad models.

Call the #1 to Lenovo Support - Tech first asked me to set up RAID and after having informed him there was no BIOS RAID option, he informed me of the installation of the equipment for caching SSD drive was fully automatic and needed no software. I found this suspicious and later decided to call again to ask for the check disk cache is enabled...

Call #2 to Lenovo Support - after a period of 90 min or so call and another suggestion to set up RAID, even if there is no other choice, the technology has suggested that "the only way to get the configured disk cache is to return the laptop to the warehouse for them charge the appropriate partitions.» I asked if he has ever heard about any other machine ever which were to be sent to the factory to get a piece of hardware working in the event of corruption of data/partition say hard drive, or if someone wanted to upgrade their hard drive. He said: "no, Sir, but it seems that you have more experience than me, so I'm not sure what we can do besides have return you.»

Am I the only one that sounds ridiculous? I have worked on 100 computers and never once had to send a back machine to load the drivers/utils to make a component work - they always had drivers available. And it is a plain jane Windows 8 install, nothing special about it.

I am reaching my wits end, I lost a ton of time with refills and OS configurations. I give up on the mSata drive all together? I have a time difficult swalling that I MUST have Win8 Lenovo OEM load in order to be able to use all of my material.

Any help would be REALLY appreciated!

I think that I figured this out finally. Here's what I did:
1 put flat as well the 1 TB drive and the 16 GB SSD, no flying over partitions, all unallocated space.
2A took the mSata SSD out of the machine before I tried Win8 installed, (leaving it in there, the windows carve 350 MB partition on the SSD drive for a reason even if I chose the 1 TB drive to settle).
    3. install Win8 (I have the Technet version).
    4. updated all drivers Lenovo Web site except the Intel RST util, and I hooked version of NVIDIA driver for my video GeForce GT 650 M.
    5. do you have all Windows updates.
6 clogged mSata SSD back in.
    7. download and install the 64-bit version of memory Cache Express (64-bit) that I found here:

    Cache Express downloads

    8. rebooted as guest

When I came back to the top, I saw my SSD had a partition created and I can only ASSUME since I didn't see any Cache Express installation error and he ruled out a partition on the SSD drive to work. Don't know how I can check it really worked, but it's wayyyyyy closer I got after working on it for a week. I SiSoftware Sandra and I ran a disk performance report before the installation of the Express Cache, so I want to try to run another report and compare.

You can download the program for diagnotics HUtil Samsung http://www.samsung.com/global/business/hdd/support/downloads/Hutil210_iso_for_CDROM_drive.zip

It's an ISO image then unzip the file and write the ISO image to a CD.

Then restart the PC and booting with the CD. To do this, you must change the priority/boot order in the BIOS to boot from the CD first.

Once you have started the program HUtil it will detect your hard drive Samsung. Select the hard disk.

Enter the main Menu on the tool. Go into the menu of the tool and enter Auto diagnosis. Enable diagnostics to run, once done it will ask you if you want to perform a surface analysis - enter Yes. The analysis of surface will take some time to complete. If errors are found, it reported.

Once more I recommend you backup your data as soon as possible, preferably before executing HUtil program.

For more information on the program of HUtil you can go here: http://www.samsung.com/global/business/hdd/support/utilities/Support_HUTIL.html

Write when the cache is enabled: when data are written back to the hard drive, it is written in the cache that is much faster to actually write to the hard drive. An acknowledgement of receipt is then sent by saying that the data has been written on the hard disk, when in fact it does not. In this way so that the data is actually being written to the hard drive to the rest of the system can continue to work. However memory cache is volatile, if the power goes off, the data in the cache is destroyed and if it has not been written to disk hard and yet he's lost.

If your settings are correct. Usually the drives are configured for performance and the write cache is enabled. While flash drives and memory cards are configured for the fast-moving and write cache is disabled.

  • Initial configuration of RAID HP ENVY accidentally erased, deleted hard disk?

I was trying to see if I could find an option to change the my new laptop on AHCI SATA controller, but I should have checked more thoroughly online before trying something new in the BIOS.  It seems that these laptops are automatically in AHCI?

My laptop had a 1 TB SSHD and a 24GB flash hard drive Cache acceleration configured in RAID 0.  With my minimal knowledge of the AHCI, RAID and IDE, I thought that the withdrawal of the RAID configuration would give me a possibility to change the hard drive in AHCI controller.  Without thinking, I "removed" the RAID volume, and I think I have completely erase my new hard drive and the operating system, including the recovery partition.

When I start up the laptop, I get the error "boot device not found 3f0", and f11 does not work to try to get into the recovery mode.  The hard drive test always passes the two elements.  I ordered at HP USB recovery media earlier, but I don't know if there is anything else I can do?

I don't know exactly how the acceleration of the Disk Cache, but my main question is why only SSHD would be setup in RAID 0 factory mode, and if there is a good reason, how do I put up again after the reinstallation of the OS from the USB media?

After screwing my OS, I played in the BIOS to re - setup the RAID0, but I don't know that I've got it right.  I myself remember the size of the band was set to 128 KB, but I have no idea what was the "Capacity (MB)", or should I put it when I create new RAID?

Any help would be appreciated.  Thank you.

    Ryan

    Hi, Popo:

I didn't get the rush of shipped recovery media.

When you order by regular mail, it may take up to 10 days, so unless you're bored to death, so I would just wait until your recovery media is coming tomorrow.

Yes, you are right.  The file I gave you is a simple vanilla W8 version and there are no programs whatsoever other than that which accompanies the W8.

The product key in the BIOS of your PC will work with this file and you get the recovery media.

You can always want to DL this file and make a bootable DVD just as it is for future use.

After installing W8, you get the upgrade to W8.1 against the Windows store.

It may take a few hours to appear as a sort of update should run before updating the W8.1 appears in the Windows store.

You won't have to look for.

It will be displayed when you click the windows store.

You will be able to switch to W8.1 with the regular ISO W8 file, or your installation HP factory.

  • How to disable the file hiding (changing options for hard disk does not work)

    Hi all

I hope someone can help me with the following problem:

-J' need to open a file of 16 GB of content in third party software (Stata) who reads completely in memory.

-Due to Windows caching file, necessary to get the procedure done about 32 GB cache files and Stata access physical memory.

-As I have only 24 GB of physical RAM file is read later part of virtual memory, which leads to serious performance problems.

I unchecked the box 'Enable write on the device cache' to my hard drive. That did not help. Is there a way to disable the Cache during PLAYBACK of files?

Thank you very much in advance for any help!

    Tobi

The write cache and virtual memory are different. Virtual memory is an extension of the physical memory residing on the HARD disk where Windows is installed. Normally, the virtual memory is about twice the size of the current physical memory. Write cache is an exclusive setting for external hard drives only and has no effect in internal hard drives.

In your case, please note that full 24GO of RAM will not be allocated to the program. At least 1 GB will be reserved for windows, so the rest of the programs are moved to virtual memory, which means that the HARD drive. It is not recommended to disable virtual memory because it can cause stability problems. In addition, the files are not copied directly in memory, even if they are big. Instead, the parts of the file are available and this area, including the incremental values and material, are stored in the memory. So if all of a sudden, you access an area of the file which is very far away from the previous location, it takes time as the new area, as well as differentials and material value of a few bytes is also copied to the memory. The box of files previously displayed is erased from the memory.

For performance improvements, you can go for the SSD, RAM with higher clock speed (must be compatible with the motherboard) as processor as well as the upgrade. However, please note that the process of accessing a file even as mentioned previously, but the speed will increase because of the higher bandwidth and the clock frequency.

Why my asus s550c have a noise on the hard disk compartment? is this normal? pls response to my question as soon as possible.

It is not normal. According to the ASUS card, your computer has two drives, a small module SSD used as a Cache and a regular SATA 750 GB drive.

Will the sound of the engine in the 750 GB drive, and the reader will fail in the end, maybe today, maybe tomorrow.

The computer is slow to start? If it isn't, the noise can come from somewhere near the drive Bay, perhaps an internal cooling fan. You'd do better to check by a competent technician...
