network linking questions

I just bought a new Capsule 2 G and I tried about 30 x to set up and connect to my network without result.  Why is it so * difficult? I should just be able to connect this thing in and extend my existing network.  However, every time, no matter what, it will not apply, and only wants to create a new network.  Help, please!

Please specify if you want the time Capsule to "extend" your existing network by connecting to your main router using a wired wired Ethernet, Permanent

or

If you want the time Capsule to "extend" your existing network by connecting through a Wi - Fi connection.

IF... you want to the time Capsule to connect to your existing network using a wireless connection, your 'main' router is also an Apple product?

or

Your 'main' router is a product of part 3?

Should we guess you use a Mac with a current or recent operating system installed to configure the time Capsule?

  • How does a datapump decide exactly the RCS over a network link?

I have a question. I use flashback_scn on one of my scripts and I was wondering if I have not specufy the flashback_scn?

How does the data pump without flashback_scn on network_link? How does he decide to what YVERT must export?

I am importing about 40 gigabytes of data which easily takes 2-3 hours on the network link.
He decides on the SNA at the start of the work?

What new data coming in 2-3 hours after I started the import job?

Looked around in the documentation, but could not find any useful information on this.

If you do not specify flashback_scn or flashback_time then only data that matches data in partitioned tables. It could also include nested tables, but it does include all the tables.

Let's say your network work includes these objects table_data and they are exported in this order and say that you add enough data to add 1000 to the RCS every 1/2 hour:

    time object Yvert
    11:30 table0 - unpartitioned 1000
    12:00 table1:partition1 2000
    12:30 table2 - non-partitioned 3000
    01:00 table1:partition2 2000
    01:30 table3 - non-partitioned 5000
    02:00 table1.partition3 2000

If you do not specify a parameter of flashback, then only compatible data for table1. All 3 partitions will be exported with the SNA even. The CPN is the RCS at the first partition is exported. In the case precedent, if the first to export data of SNA 1000 the first partition of table 1 is exported from SNA 2000, then all partitions table 1 will be exported from SNA 2000. No other data is forced to be exported to the SNA 2000.

In exp/imp, you could say in line = y, but is not available in expdp/impdp. If you want all the data, you must specify a parameter of blowback. One of the easiest ways is to use:

    flashback_time = sysdate

There was a problem with it in version 10 and I know it's fixed, but I do not know more what version it is attached to.

  • Import data over the network link in oracle 11 g

We want to take the export of the NDO schema in database production and
import in the scheme of the NDO in UAT database on a network
link using data in Oracle 11 g pump. Kindly share the steps.

    Scenario:
Directly import the schema of TEST01 in the production database (oraodrmu) to test the oraodrmt database, on
a network to help pump link and data from database in Oracle 11 g.

Note: When you perform an import via a database link, the import source is a database, not a dump file set, and the data is imported to the connected instance of database.
Because the link may identify a database remotely in a network, the database of terms link and the network link are used interchangeably.

  • EA4500 + ADSL router: networking noob question

Then... I'm not sure of the right words to use, but this is the case I would appreciate the help. I tried to figure out how to survive myself, but I find it a little confusing - however, if you think I just need a networking 101 do not hesitate to send me to appropriate information sources (I've tried a few, as I say, but I have not yet found a place where my situation fits!).

Quick back story: I have a cheap TalkTalk ADSl router (D-Link 3680) where the Wireless does not properly in the House. So I just got a DSL EA4500 router for better strength/speed/compliance wireless - you'll just have to forgive me for not having an ADSL router, which I realize may have been a simpler solution!

First of all, I put the (D-Link of TalkTalk 3680) ADSL router in Bridge mode and got this and the EA4500 work together which was great as it goes. However, I would be hard...

I have a tower PC and wish to receive wired ethernet network. While I know in the set - up above I can run a cable from the 3680 to the EA4500 and then another cable to the PC because the PC is closer to the telephone (with the ADSL router) Jack, physically it seems wiser, if I take the PC of the 3680 ethernet connection (along with a second cable 3680 to EA4500 connection for the wireless). It may or may not be relevant that the 3680 is a Fast Ethernet output, as is the network PC card (i.e. are not Gigabit).

I don't know (a) whether the above configuration is possible and if yes, how, or (b) the question whether in terms of networking, it is best to cable to the EA4500 computer (even if this will create a longer path to the PC and the wiring more).

Meaning, and if yes maybe someone could give me also a term for what I'm doing?

    Help gratefully received! Garreth

3680 port LAN (bridge) => EA4500 Port WAN (router)-online PC peripherals and wireless

It's the best configuration and nothing should be connected to the 3680 other than the EA4500.

The physical location of the electronics is not important, unless you can not run cable or wireless signal is low.

  • Matching C20 with ISDN link question

Hi, can someone help me on initial connectivity C20 with ISDN link? I C20 codec with 1 LAN port which is connected to link ISDN endpoint port, the link ISDN of LAN port is connected to the internal network. I configured the IP Link ISDN: XXX.XXX. XXX.251 and codec on XXX.252 both are the same subnet.

Given that a single LAN port, how can I access the web interface of the codec to check and perform pairing? If in case, the codec is on firmware older supporting not pairing function so how can't I perform manual synchronization. Cannot access the ISDN link by series.

    Hello

CAN´t you just plug your PC on the network internal (same subnet as the ISDN link and the codec) and access the Web interface of the codec: http://x.x.x.252 ?

What versions of software are you using?

  • It is possible to intregate MARKS and server of telepresence in a multipoint network link?

    Hi friends,

I recently did a big upgrade of an environment of telepresence entire Cisco, including a large number of components telerepsence, these VCS, server TP, TMS, CUCM, CTS 1300, CTMS, CUVC, point final series C, jabber, 9900 and 8900 video phones in the series.

Opportunities for interoperability between Cisco telepresence solutions have been much improved, that's why we have done the upgrade.

Now, I just doubt, which I wasn't able to solve by searching in the documents and guides. I know that it is possible to establish a link of multipoint network between several CTMSs in order to scale the number of participants at the Conference. It's great! But is it possible to link (waterfall) CTMS (version 1.9) and TP Server (version 2.2)?

Two of them having supported the ADVANCED Protocol, I think it is supossed to work, right? I tried to achieve this integration, but it did not work. TP recongnizes CTMS as being three SIP screen Telepresence server, I have a participant (CTS Endpoint 1.8) connected to the CTMS and a participant (point endpoint 9971) connected to the server TP, but I see a black screen in both participants, no audio. If endpoints ask each other directly, it works normally, because they are running new firmwares.

It is possible to intregate MARKS and server of telepresence in a multipoint network connection?

    Thank you!

    Kind regards

    Paulo Souza

    Hello Paulo

Glad to hear that you are experiencing improved after the upgrade to get the best of interop.

Unfortunately cascading is not supported with GST again. It can be included in a later version in 2013.

  • 11.1.1.7 WebCenter Portal spaces - external link question

We have a space of organization created by another part of the team that has a model of navigation with links to tasks workflows and other internal resources.  Our part of the team change the navigation menu to incorporate links external https applications Oracle Forms/Reports. We are unable to open these links in a new window.  We can get the link to open the WebCenter space, but whatever option we choose in the field ' Open link in ", we always get the same result.

" We are concerned, there is a limitation as when we add the" https:// ' URL in the field path on the target tab, the Options tab has more 'New window' as an option in the drop down for the field ' Open link in "."  We work around this problem, by updating add directly the XML:

    < attribute attributeId = 'Target' isKey = "false" value = "_blank" / >

Here's the question: is Webcenter allow you to have a link to the external secure page open in a new window?  If so, what configuration change is required for us to accomplish this?

    Thank you

    Hello.

    It's easy:

    • AF:goLink . with the property targetFrame to open links as _blank, _self... (She translates to normal ( )
    • AF:commandLink does not have the targetFrame property, and you can use pprnav.

You just have to check with af:switcher based on the attributes of node/settings that use a single.

My reference to the pageTemplate_global is just a sample on how logic can be applied, must be followed rigorously. In this case, the commandLink's tests only whether or not she should open a popup to display more navigation.

    I hope this information helps.

    Kind regards.

  • Network configuration question

I'm one of our 5.5 hosts replace with new material and want to make sure that I get the right networking. We have unit vcenter and a HA cluster with shared on an EQ San storage and complete double switches for redundancy. My old hosts have 2 quad port NIC, so configure each vswitch with double vmnic for a total redundancy was easy - I split each pair on the physical network interface cards. If one of the physical network cards is dead, I was still all my connections.

The new host has 1 quad port nic and dual 2 network cards to port. Network interface cards double port match and have tcp offload capabilities, but the quad port does not. I want to use the dual port 2 for my iscsi and vmotion, so that leaves the quad port for my public connections. What happens if the public NIC dies, especially if they vcenter on this host? I know that all the virtual machines will still work, but will they automatically vmotion to other hosts if only the public network fails?

    Thank you.

NIC failures are very rare. So, I would place too much emphasis on this scenario.

Is the answer to your question, it depends. HA has a configuration option called isolation response of the host, who controls what happens when the host loses connectivity management. By default, it is configured to leave it powered on. You can change it to Shut Down, which makes sense in your scenario, as the loss of connectivity management means the loss of connectivity to the virtual machine as well. And in this way when management network goes down all your virtual machines is gracefully closed and restarted on another host.

  • Mgmnt network vCenter question 5

Our VMware environment is expanding - we are currently redesigning the network connections.  Can anyone offer recommendations or best practices on the following questions.
    (1) on new construction of host can use another range of IP for the management network without causing problems with already used by existing hosts subnets?  Can I change the IP address of the existing hosts without a reconstruction?
    (2) we are very shortage of Cisco ports.  My Network Services team asking if we can combine the network traffic with vMotion traffic on the same physical connection management.  Which would have ramifications

be if we allow at the same time?  Unless you have a failure of the host all vMotion activities is controlled manually and very light.  We work (ongoing project) on a DR plan, but have nothing in place.

    Is it 2x1GbE or 2x10GbE?
If it is 2x10GbE and that you have vSphere Ent +, I'd go for the unique design of VDS using NIOC

  • New to VM, network config question

I have a question with networking on a virtual machine host. IM pretty new MV so forgive me if this is a stupid question or if its in the wrong forum.

I have a single host VM with ESXi 5 turn several Win2008 server. The physical network switch is a 48-Port 10/100 but a 2 gigabit ports. The physical host has 4 gigabit NIC. Is it better to launch 4 NICs to 100 MB/s or two Gigabit? What happened to run 2 network cards in each (2 gigabytes) and 2 in 100? How do I configure?

Im just trying to see what options are avilable for me with this and what is the preferred configuration.

    Thank you!

So you can plug them into the ports of 1 GB as if you don't need all the traffic flowing on routes rising 1 GB and host to the same new host which will be at least 1 GB speed.

Your army to the workstation traffic will flow to 100 MB max.

Personally, I would look to pick up a new switch if budgets permit.  You can get a switch 48-Port gigabit for £180 all about, or if you do not use the 48-port you can get a smaller much cheaper.

    Kind regards

  • vmotion - box connected network card question is uncheck after vmotion

    Hi all

I have a strange problem in Cluster DRS / rules of VM, we do vmotion

After doing vmotion, VM addresses don't not ping, in the first time I think it's trunk network was not good.

Do vmotion on the source host and not work.

After checking configuration of the virtual machine, I see that "Connects" network adapter box is not checked.

The box was check before, because the ping response machine before the vmotion.

My question is very simple you already have this behavior?

I use the following script to facilitate the operation.

    Thanks for your help

If the connected box gets uncheked after vMotion, looks like the maximum number of ports configured for your vSwitch on your target hosts is exceeded...

  • Design of Network\VLAN question

I have a network completely flat and Im not a networking guy, but I have two ESX host, I need to build with a Lefthand SAN

and I want to create a VLAN for vmotion traffic segmentation. Anyone know where I could find instructions to create the VLAN?

I have 6 NETWORK adapters per ESX host and plan on using iSCSI software. I have also dedicated physical switches for my iSCSI traffic.

How you prefer to use the 6-port network card?

    Awared points to answers.

    Hello

You can assign a VLAN on each port group. VSphere Client, click on ESX / I have server you want to configure > click on the Configuration tab > then click on link networking in the hardware Section. Then click on the properties link in one of the vSwitch > select one port group, and then click on edit. Finally, you can assign a VLAN in the VLAN ID properties.

The best way to use the NIC ports available, I think that there depends on your preferred configuration. For example, what kind of features you need to activate, the requirement for a network for each virtual computer speed, etc. But, basically, I have the same perception with the previous suggestion. You can allocate one or two ports for specific traffic.

    Hi Experts,

I just started using VMware and I had a simple kind of question. I inherited 4 Dell R900 x servers. The only problem I have now is that I am wise networking? Clearly, it would seem logical to Crete the VLAN of server on 10g cards, but what to do with the other?

    Help, please! Thanks in advance.

    Misread the post above...

Since you have a sound network cards, you might want to consider this:

vSwitch0 (Service Console)-> onboard 1 G NIC1 and 1 G NIC1 PCI as a failover pair. The best practice is to have the Service Console on a segment controlled far from virtual machines and networks vmkernel

vSwitch1 (VMS)-> the two cards of 10 G in a connection to very. Use VLAN tagging to provide access to multiple networks

vSwitch2 (vmkernel/vMotion - if used)-> onboard 1 G NIC2 and PCI 1 G NIC2 as a failover pair. This should be on one VLAN isolated to enhance security while ensuring that all the bandwidth is dedicated to vMotion

In addition, make sure that all network adapters are on the VMware HCL.
