My HP Pavilion dv2799 comes with Windows Vista and has always worked very well. However, after I have recently upgraded to Windows 8 32 bit, now sound, video and even the mouse is stuttering.
The laptop has a NVIDIA GeForce 8400 M GS, and my approach has been to find the correct graphics driver. However, I don't find the driver on the HP website. I thought that maybe I need to use a HP change NVIDIA driver? To remedy this, I installed the latest NVIDIA driver, 314.22, from nvidia.com.
Regarding the Conexant High Definition SmartAudio 221 sound that I can't find any other driver as 4.36.7.60. According to the website of Conexant, Conexant provides no drivers for PC audio products to end-users.
It can be the cause of the performance issue? How can I solve the problem?
OK, back to the other end of the scale.

I had just installed Microsoft Essentials... before uninstalling software anti-virus TrenMicro expired... maybe Detailer left some files on my system after uninstall?
Hello
This problem normally occurs when there are files that are infected by viruses.
Method 1:
Run a scan antivirus on your computer.
www.Microsoft.com/Security/Scanner
Note: If infections are detected during the scan, there is a risk of data loss because infected files will be deleted.Method 2:
You also try to run the uninstaller to complete tool to remove traces of antivirus Trend.
http://eSupport.trendmicro.com/solution/en-us/1056551.aspx
Check the issue.
Method 3: Clean boot
If the problem persists, you can place the computer in a clean boot.
Put the computer in a State of boot is a way to know which application is causing this problem.
To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.
Put your boot system helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem. If so, you need to maybe contact the manufacturer of the program for updates or uninstall and reinstall the program.
Step 1: Follow the steps in the link below to do the same thing:
How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" State
Note: After troubleshooting, be sure to set the computer to start as usual as shown here:
Step 2: To configure Windows to use a Normal startup state
After you have used the boot is a way to solve your problem, you can follow these steps to configure Windows XP to start normally.
a. Click Start and then click Run.
b. type msconfig and click OK. The System Configuration Utility dialog box appears.
c. click on the general tab, click Normal Startup - load all services and device drivers and then click OK.
d. When you are prompted, click on restart to restart the computer.
Hope this information helps. Response with status so that we can help you.

Windows XP will not respond to the keyboard or the mouse. Why it is not working.
Well, I have the version of Windows XP Home Edition-32, Service Pack 2. I bought a keyboard gear yesterday with a mouse optical usb Dynex. My old keyboard and mouse were completely irreparable; I threw the. I plugged my new usb devices. When Windows has finished loading need me for my logon screen. However, my mouse and keyboard will not respond. This prevents me from going further. In addition, they will not respond during startup, the BIOS or the Windows Advanced Options Menu. I don't have a recovery disk. I bought the computer with XP already on this subject, so I do not have the disk to the operating system. What is my next step?
I bought PS/2 devices, and they work perfectly. Thanks for the tip.

Windows Vista starts with only a black screen with the mouse pointer.
Saturday, 02/27/10, I left my laptop (Dell Inspiron 1405 E) because I used Studio to produce a couple of videos. When I got up in the morning, he himself had closed. I tried to put on normally, and he said: recovery error windows, then on lists: Launch Startup Repair tool and start windows normally. I tried to do a repair, but it just comes back to the same screen. When I try to boot normally, it shows the progress on the background as usual bar, but then he comes up to a black screen with a mouse pointer. When I run one of the many diagnostic tests, it is said that the BIOS cannot find the operating system loader. I'm pretty adept at computers, but nothing I've tried before reinstalling Vista works. I have files that I need to keep it on the computer, and only a few of them are saved. Please help me soon, as I need for my school musical production on Thursday.
Hello
You can access Mode safe? Repeatedly press F8 as you start? If yes you can try Control Panel
-Double click - Driver tab - click on UPDATE driver - device Manager - map - graph
then right click on the device and UNINSTALL - REBOOT.Another method to try to get to the desktop (try in normal Windows Mode without failure)
is CTRL + ALT + DEL and the processes tab find EXPLORER.exe and END PROCESS on it.
then on the tab Applications - lower right - new task - the type in EXPLORER.exe. Safe mode is
accessible by tapping F8 as you start several times.First check this thread in case it is simple and if not to come back to this thread.

My father called me and is a problem with his laptop. It is running Vista Edition family Basic. It starts and gets to the screen where you type your password, but freezes it. The mouse is not active, and it can not type his password. When you try to start in safe mode, it does the same thing. Someone had problems with this before?
Hello
Will there be any changes made to your computer before this problem?
After starting the computer, leave the computer idle for awhile and check what is happening. Check if you receive error messages.
This problem may occur in many scenarios. These scenarios are:
one.
The registry is corrupted.
b.
A system file is missing or damaged.
c.
A device driver file is missing or damaged.
You need to do a Startup Repair or System Restore DVD to fix this
Startup Repair: You can run the Startup repair tool by using the Windows Vista installation disc or by using the preinstalled computer recovery options.

A gray screen with Windows Vista once loading reached log on screen-no visible mouse
I have Windows Vista Home Premium 64 bit and a NVidia GeForce 7300 GT video card. Since yesterday, when I try to start the PC, the display is OK until just before the log on screen (when the Green loading bar disappears and the user account selection page will appear).
Once he reached this point display is just grayed out (non-uniform color, some variations in tone on the page). No icons or the mouse pointer is visible.
In safe mode I tried to restore the system to a date where he worked well, but it did not help. I disabled the display adapter and can then load Windows ok, but the display is naturally very ugly. I downloaded the drivers for the video card, then activated the display adapter, but this takes back me to the original problem.
Any ideas how I can fix this?
Thanks for the reply. It was all down to the graphics card. After connecting through Mode safe, I turned off the "display adapter" or a graphics card.
I then loaded windows normally and everything was ok, but the display is obviously affected. I will revive the graphics card but after the reboot, the same problem appeared.
I then loaded Windows again through safe, disabled the display 'adapter' once again, reloaded windows in normal and DELETED mode the display adapter. Then, I downloaded the latest driver for the graphics card. I received an error message saying that the material was not present. However, the restart, the graphics card was detected, installed and now everything is OK A.
Phew, a moment I thought I had a virus. Ive been advised that there is probably a conflict between the graphics card and software?

Windows 7 not able to remember my settings of the mouse when I alternate mouse
I have problems with Windows 7 when I plug in 2 different mice at different times. I take my laptop to work and I plug a USB mouse here at home I plug in a different mouse (the two Microsoft, various models).
My problem is that windows does not remember the specific settings for each mouse. When I go into control panel-> devices and printers, I can see that windows detected correctly where I used the mouse. However, when I right click and go to "Mouse settings" and click on the tab "buttons" 2nd (there are 2 tabs, after you have installed the mouse drivers), the tab from the drop-down menu 'Connected the device' is unchanged: it never gets changed automatically.
So when I get home, I have to choose my mouse (comfort optical 3000) and choose the right setting for the thumb touches (or "expand button", according to windows).
When I get to work, the scroll wheel does not work in all applications, so I have to go to settings, then choose the right mouse...
Is there anyway I can avoid this clicking repetitive? If windows 7 should not be able to automatically detect it along for the mouse settings and use the previous settings for this mouse?
Thank you
Jeremy
Hey Jeremy,
This could be due to third party settings and windows settings conflicts. To avoid the same, uninstall all conflicting mouse software.
Method 1: Uninstall all conflicting mouse software
If you have any other software mouse that is installed, such as the Logitech software or touchpad, this software can conflict with the IntelliMouse software. To uninstall other software, follow the appropriate procedure for your version of Windows.
Open programs and features in Control Panel. To do this, follow these steps:
1. click on start
2. in the search box, type appwiz.cpl.
3. press ENTER.
4. Select the software and then click on uninstall.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type the password, or click on continue.Method 2: Run a "clean" boot, and then reinstall the IntelliPoint software
Step 1: Restart the computer by using a clean boot
When you start Microsoft Windows, other software may start with the operating system. These programs may include antivirus and system programs that may interfere with your mouse. When you perform a clean boot before you start the installation, you prevent these programs from starting automatically.
1. click on start, type msconfig.exe in the start search box and press ENTER to start the System Configuration utility.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type your password, or click on continue.
2. on the general tab, click Selective startup, and then clear the check box load startup items. (The check box use the file Boot is not available).
3. on the Services tab, click to select the skin all the Microsoft services check box, and then click Disable all.
4 restart your computer. For more information:
How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or in Windows 7
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135Step 2: Remove and reinstall the IntelliPoint software
1. to do this, follow steps 1-3 in method 1.
2. click on Microsoft IntelliPoint.
3. click on uninstall/change.If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type the password, or click on continue.
4. click Yes to confirm that you want to remove the program.
5 restart the computer.
6 reinstall the IntelliPoint software. You can download the software for your edition of:
Download mouse and keyboard softwareFor 32-bit Windows 7:

http://www.Microsoft.com/hardware/download/DownloadResult.aspx?category=MK&type=mouse&name=D1T-00002&OS=Win7_64&lang=enOnce the download is complete, install the appropriate software and see if that solves your problem.

I know this question was asked several times before, but the solutions proposed, such as changin the registry does not help. It changes by itself. In the configuration that I have in my boat, the stream of NMEA data is directly injected into the COM port so no driver is necessary. It's a problem easily solved in windows XP, why is it so difficult in W7? There must be a way to permanently disable the plug-and-play driver load. I found this program that works only for Vista, if I understand correctly: http://www.stentec.com/en/download-freeware COM port plug & play blocker. If something similar could be provided by MS for W7, it would be very good...
It turns out that the program at the port of Stentec COM (freeware) http://www.stentec.com/en/download-freeware care & play blocker, also works in W7. I don't know how it works, but it does, and it's good for me! It also works for the virtual serial ports.

How to keep my window 8 switching of some screens while using my finger mouse pad
I just got a Toshiba Satellite laptop. It is not a touch screen. When I slide my finger on the mouse finger pad that he passes sometimes between windows and an e-mail application that I wish would go far and another screen. A few times while I move my finger around the time appears and a black bar to the right. I can't stand it and I want something that is like the old windows.
I have not a touch screen then is possible to disable the makings to blow East?
Cyrus salvation,
The issue you mentioned in the description is a feature of Windows 8. Even if you don't have a touch screen, it works. If you don't want this feature, you can disable this feature. Follow the steps below.
(a) press the Windows key + C key.
(b) click settings. Click change PC settings.
(c) click on general, pull the bar OFF option under the 'when I swipre on the Board front to back left, switch directly to my last app'.»»
The black bar that you see everything by moving the mouse pointer is called bar charms. This is another feature of Windows 8. To learn more about it check out the link below.
