No inheritance Option in the Bios button

I have lenovo ideapad core i7 laptop z400.

I checked all the options in the BIOS, there is no key inherited or a similar option it.

in fact, it is now ACTIVE, if I press F2, decrease in brightness, if I press F3, the brightness increases.

But if I press FN + F1, the true function of formula 1 is used.

So how to disable the keys to this LEGACY?

Good evening.

Please take a look to our Knowledgebase article here: http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/IdeaPad-Y-and-U-series-Laptops/Z400-Z500-P500-How-to-swap-function-keys-...

It will show you a BIOS update that resolves this problem. Please read the article and the Readme file for the update carefully.

Please post back to let us know how things work.

I hope this helps.

    Hi dude

    That s a funny question.
No, there is no option in the BIOS!

Please understand that there are various interfaces to drive HARD. IDE and SATA.

There is a big difference between the two interfaces and the function of the HARD disk on the motherboard controller, you could use a HDD IDE or SATA HDD.

But you cannot connect a SATA HDD to IDE or IDE HDD controller for the SATA controller. This is not possible due to different hardware.
This is not possible and that's why these BIOS settings are not available or don t exist!

But if you don't don't do this, I already have a Dell Xps laptop Overclcoked to 4.5 ghz (twisted majorly) and I installed today a very powerful cooler and heatsink of heat inside my laptop, I'm ready to overclock bu ti do not know if I can via bios but if so could you point me to guides for a code name overclocking intel celeron m 360 : DOTHAN

    Help, please

    regards James...

    Hello

Unfortunately, this is not possible on the laptop.

I o year owner of 3 different computers; two laptops and a desktop PC. The BIOS on the desktop is different and allows to change and increase the CPU. But the laptops BIOS does not allow to do something similar.

Why? Because the CPU overclocking would increase the internal temperature and make portable is not stable and perhaps that it would infringe the motherboards and CPU!
The notebooks run with maximum efficiency. If you compare the notebooks modules with cooling Office cooling modules you will see the difference!

Please don t waste your time and don t find any possibility to overclock the CPU and the FSB

  • There is no option in the bios to enable the memory remapping? !

There is no option in the bios to enable the remapping... my last windows 7 x 64 memory showed all my 4 GB of ram... but however I have clear now to install win7 x 64 or x 64 pro win8 it said usable 3.79 and info pc does not recognize my nVidia GPU (only graphics card intel HD recocnizes) while the nVidia control panel can recognize GPU and intel HD graphics together... my system is asus u36jc notebook... help is there Please...: |

    Hello

    Please contact Miceosoft answers.

Memory remapping option is not available in the BIOS and we can't really. If you do not want to remap the memory, turn the computer off, remove the cover from the chassis and modules of memory Exchange (only if there is more than one).

I assume you are using an Intel core i processor series, 2nd or 3rd generation. Usually when your pc doen't need many complex graphic treatment, the processor works as the graphics processor. In this case, when you check with Windows, it will show only currently work graphics processor - Intel HD graphics card. In addition, you can switch between graphics, to know what is the default value. In this way, if you select graph nVidia, Windows will display it info.

I suggest to keep the setting of graphics as such for extended battery backup.

  • F10: Unable to select Scart TV out - no option in the Bios.

Qosmio F10 with drivers and the default settings of Toshiba. Others have suggested to the needs of the Bios should be set to ' TV Type = SCART "to allow the D-video output cable is enabled for output to the TV? This option does not appear in "TV-Types'list."
Same problem noted by the others. The last level of updating BIOS.
Any suggestions or solutions would be very appreciated.

    Hello

I checked the manual of this device and there is nothing on the parameters to change in the Bios. If you are using a D-video output port to connect the TV you do not need to change anything in the Bios.
If the TV is connected to the computer, set the TV type in display properties.

  • Satellite A100-756: no option in the BIOS to change the CPU usage

    Hi guys,.

recently bought a satellite A100-756 laptop with core duo of intel clocked at 1.86 Ghz. When you look in the BIOS (version 2.00) the only options allotted to me is to dynamically the CPU frequency mode are 'always low, or dynamically switchable. There is no option to set the processor to operate at "still high". my friend who has a 2 years old satellite said that, on its model, there is the possibility to "still high".

Toshiba HWSetup also lists only the mode options for dynamic as either «always low or dynamically switchable» cpu frequency I was wondering if anyone has done to put the option to always high, or if there is an update the Bios or software Toshiba that would allow this option for 'high alyways?

    Congratulations for all help people!

    Hello

As you may knew that the Toshiba Power Saver tool is preinstalled on most Toshiba laptops.
This tool allows to change the CPU, the speed of processing, cooling method, using standby and hibernation, etc.

To change the speed of the CPU or the cooling method, you will need to enter the energy saver, then select the basic settings tab.

PS: All these settings can be configured for a different power profiles. Therefore, you must configure the settings of the profile that you will use for most of the time.

Under XP, when I pressed the power button I could put it "Ask Me what to do." This is very useful for two reasons:

  • Option in the BIOS to "permanently disable" Computrace

    Hello

In the configuration of the BIOS T500 is the option:

    Security: Computrace: Computrace Module Activation

    with 3 possible values:

    • Enabled (default)?
    • People with disabilities
    • Permanent disability

I think I understand how Computrace BIOS works: at startup, the BIOS checks and ensures that the necessary drivers/services are present in the operating system file system before the OS supported boots. The Computrace service then runs 'hidden' in the OS and, periodically, telephone reception.

I want to know is what happens if I select the BIOS option "permanent disability". The auditor of Computrace/charger is removed from the BIOS? Is it possible to never turn Computrace at a later date, perhaps by flashing the BIOS?

    Thank you

    Frank

This field allows you to activate or disable the interface BIOS Service optional Computrace (R) of Absolute (R) Software module. Of Absolute Software's Computrace agent is a service solution designed to help track assets and provide recovery services in case the laptop is lost or stolen. The Computrace agent communicates with absolute software monitoring server at scheduled intervals to provide follow-up service. By activating the service, you consent to the transmission of information from and to your computer and the control of absolute software server. The Computrace service is purchased as a separate option and the monitoring server will allow its module security officer through an interface provided by the BIOS. The official follow-up Computrace can be used only in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada and Australia. Computrace (R) and Absolute (R) are registered trademarks of Absolute Software Corporation.

Disable = permanently block the Computrace module interface.
Disable = block (default) Computrace module interface.
Activate = Permit the Computrace module interface.

The absolute anti-theft solution is currently disabled. Note the options to enable or disable will be permanently activate or deactivate the function and no changes will be allowed.

  • Why UEFI is written on my DVD drive boot option in the BIOS?

Hello. I made a boot disk and wanted to test it. I went into the BIOS to change the boot order and there are 3 options that come up on the first screen. 1 is a pic of a hard drive. This is my internal hard drive. The 2nd and the 3rd are the two peaks of an optical drive. One of them has UEFI wrote at the bottom of the photo, while the other is not. I read on UEFI and I know that it replaces the old BIOS, it offers protection against certain types of malware, and it supports hard drives over 2.2 to... Very well, then why does seem part of a pic for the option to boot from the DVD drive? It would make more sense if it was written on the disk image hard because it's Windows being.

Given that will replace the UEFI BIOS, does that mean we're going to be saying things like "the UEFI Boot and change the boot order?

    Thank you

  • no option in the bios to secure boot

Hi, I recently installed 8 64-bit windows and entrust the with my win 7 32 bit and my 14,04 64 bit ubuntu, but now I can not connect to win 7 or ubuntu. I looked online and it says disable secure boot, but my bios doesn't have this option (the motherboard is a ga-f2a85x-d3h, gigabyte), so I don't know how to turn it off so I can boot into those. is there a way to win 8 to turn it off, or do I just uninstall win 8? (need to access both win 7 and ubuntu, and was only to install win 8 because I couldn't upgrade win 7 32-bit to 64-bit with the same key (the installation disc wouldn't let me for some reason any).)

I tried now shift that I restart, and when he brings up a menu, it is not an option in there for the uefi framework parameters (as shown in the picture on this website: http://askubuntu.com/questions/221835/installing-ubuntu-on-a-pre-installed-windows-8-64-bit-system-uefi-supported).

    Hello

    Thanks for the reply.

I suggest contact you the Ubuntu support Forum as the partition where Ubuntu is installed are not recognized in the BIOS and that's why you get an error 'boot/grub/i386-pc/normal.mod' not found.

  • How can I disable "SATA" option in the BIOS PHOENIX Satellite M70

My laptop is toshiba satellite M70
    He has PHOENIX bios
is there any FLASH ACPI for this Bios for me to set the property as DISABLED SATA?
OR I can DISABLE this property is the current BIOS?
    Thank you very much...

Satellite M70 does not support this feature in the BIOS!
This means that you will not be able to disable the SATA feature!

As Akuma, you need to install the SATA driver first.
You can do this by using the USB external floppy drive or you will create the new CD of Win XP and will include the SATA driver using the free tool called nLite.

So if you don t have an external USB FDD drive, you can use nLite.

Search here in the forum for nLite and how to include the SATA drivers.
There are a lot of announcement about this procedure.

    Good bye
