  • Vista does not recognize the printer network driver.

Recently, I built a new desktop computer and install Vista Home Premium (64) bits.  I have a HP Deskject 5650 connected to another computer on desktop running Windows XP.  When I try to add the shared printer on the 64 bit Vista computer it will not find the drive.
I was able to share this printer on 3 laptops 2 running HP Vista (32 bit), one XP and shared with friends running a variety of OS including Ubuntu and OS10.
I managed to install the printer directly on the new office.  It works very well with a direct connection.
I have found the correct driver in the prnhp001.inf of the Windows/inf directory, it contains this listed
    "hp deskjet 5600 series (HPA).

I have attached the printer either by browsing or via its TCP/IP address.  Windows says that the xp machine doesn't have the right driver.  It askes for the directory with the correct driver.  I have it to point to the directory, but he comes back and says window cannot find an appropriate driver.  Contact your administrator for help to find and install an appropriate driver.
Is there a way to force Vista to load the correct driver, as he did for the version 32 bit on my laptop?
Any other suggestions would be helpful.  I would like to use Office XP as a print server for the entire network, but this problem is to thwart this attempt.

    Hi bobxnc,

Please use the forum for Support of Vista,

You will have to visit the HP website and download and then manually install the driver for Vista 64-bit on the Vista machine.  After installing the driver, it should connect and locate the driver on your computer to the printer.  Driver for 64-bit system are usually different 32-bit system, this could be the cause of the problem.

    Hi leighh50950915,

DC XI & Acrobat Acrobat has been tested successfully on Windows 10.

Other versions may or may not work, difficult to predict behavior.

However, try to uninstall & reinstall the printer drivers.

Also make sure that Acrobat 9 is updated.

    ====================================================

What I have not said in my question, it is that I welcomed the HP Support Assistant help with installing the driver. The installation has started and then fell in a heap. He seemed to gather a set of diagnosics and send it's out of HP and that was the last I heard. I don't know what caused what. HPSA maybe even helped to reduce collateral damage, I don't know, but what I know is that between HP and Microsoft...

NOBODY TOLD ME THAT INSTALLING WINDOWS 10 COULD STOP MY PRINTER WORKS...!

And installation has been fairly stable at best. At worst, it was a traumatic experience because of my PC to my work...

So this morning I decided to try again and began the installation of the printer driver entirely embodied by choosing down, load the file only without the help of HPSA.

When the installation began, I discovered that apps in fully embodied installation could be deselected (I did with joy... ).

From there the wireless installation proceeded easily according to the driver installation only Win7...

    Ahhhh... happiness... :-)

    Hello Floadnar,

Have you tried with another Usb cable? DC said that "usb not recognized it. You should check also Device Manager for universal serial bus drivers. Finally, you can try to connect both usb cable to check the work of regular printer usb socket or not. you don't need to install the driver. Simply connect the usb cable between the printer and PC. If both USB works with off problem that should not see the unrecognized Usb device message.

  • Error 1327 on installation of c309g photosmart printer - "invalid drive c:\.

Am running Windows XP SP3 and the printer is connected via a wired router

Have recently changed my HARD drive and reinstalled windows etc., original HARD disk is functional but not connected

Original letter from HARD drive is c: new HARD drive partitioned into I: J: & K:, with windows, etc. on K:

After the installation of windows on the new drive, original HARD C:\ drive was briefly re-established as slave to recover the 'Favorites' folder and then broke

When installing printer CD, all right until the error message "drive not valid error 1327 C:\ - go to the web support etc.»

Printing software seems to completely uninstall and requires a re-boot, but there are still a lot of HP entries in the registry

Went pages support web and found the error message that seemed to relate more to a mistake of the drive letter of the CD than the HARD drive but followed steps, copy the disc in the HARD drive, download the full drivers etc Web but every time got exactly the same message

Final solution should contact the support technician to correct the registry entries, but this seems to cost £21 so eager to find a solution elsewhere

    Can someone please?

    Hello sidsilver

The problem is that there is a problem with the the drive letters on your computer. Microsoft suggests that you change the system for anything other than C:\ drive because many Windows programs refer to specific drive letters. It is part of the reason that the system drive can not have his letter changed without reinstalling the operating system. Change, add, or remove a drive (windows.microsoft.com) Letter

At this point, the best solution would be to re - install Windows on the computer and install it on the C:\ drive/partition.

However, before you reinstall Windows try the following:

    1. Open the command prompt
    2. type: "subst C: K:\. "without the quotes and press to enter.
    3. Restart and try to reinstall again.

  • I'm trying to uninstall my printer HP driver. Went on Panel, chosen program and it does nothing!

He asks me if I'm sure I want to uninstall this program and click on the button it just goes back to the list of programs, and it is still listed.
My HP F4280 printer in not sweeping. I try to reconnect it. I have run all diagnostics by HP already. Start now just to start over in unistalling then reinstalling.

    Hello CK7120,

Thank you for your message.  Have you been to the HP website to download/install the latest driver for your device?  That would be my first recommendation.
If you want to remove your printer completely, try to do these steps in order.
    1. disconnect the printer from the computer.
    2. click on 'Start' > click 'Printers and faxes' > select your printer and then delete
    3. click on 'Start' > click 'Control panel' > double-click 'Add Remove Programs '.
    4. find your printer software and remove it.  (This process may take awhile, give it enough time to complete this task)
Please let us know if it did or did not help to solve your problem.

    Hello Dzuco,

Thank you for your message.  You will need get a driver xp for printer/plotter.  Pilots are produced by the manufacturer and are usually downloaded from their Web site, however, I can't seem to find anything online to JRL Systems.  I recommend you contact JRL systems for the suitable driver for your printer.  You also have the option to search the Web for 'plotter jrl systems printer driver.  Don't forget that some 3rd party software can contain viruses and malware, so take precautions by downloading and installing the 3rd party software.

  • Problem with the Canon LBP 1120 printer installation driver

    Hello

I have a machine running 64-bit vista Home premium. and I have a Canon LBP-1120 printer. This printer is in good shape and I don't want to buy another printer.
But the problem is that the only driver that there is, is for Vista 32 bit. And when I try to install, I get the error message saying that I need 64-bit drivers.
I'll be happy even with basic print function because I do not do more printing.
Looked everywhere on the web... good .no
A workaround solution would help me a LOT!

I found this, but the link does not work

    Hello

There should be a Vista driver for it that will at least at the base
print function, although it does support all of the features:

    Hello

    1. are you able to print successfully?

    3. What were the recent hardware changes performed on the computer before the question software ro?

A Windows Vista 64 Bit operating system is compatible in installation of 32-bit drivers. All the 64-bit version operating systems have the ability to run 32-bit applications, but on a version 32-bit operating system, you are limited to only 32-bit software.

According to the information on the website of Canon, Canon provides only the 32-bit drivers for Canon LBP 1120 printer, 64-bit drivers are always expected. To improve assistance to the topic to download driver 64 bit I ask you to contact Canon.
