Not run as administrator OPTION?

Hello, first post here.  I've searched and have not found anything specific.
I have vista ultimate 32 bit, just reinstalled "full restoration of the factory", do a right-click on the files, icons, programs, etc. and the option "Run As Administrator" is not displayed (that was before I reinstalled everything).  What I've done wrong? I use Norton 360.

  • Search engines not available, except in mode "Run as Administrator". delete the parent.lock file profiles did not help

After the upgrade to 21 FF, search engines no longer appear in the bar at the top right of the screen, so no searches are possible. I can navigate to my favorites and apparently also to the links contained in the e-mails.

If I right click on the FF icon and choose the "Run as Administrator" option, the search engines are there again. I tried to delete the parent.lock in the profiles folder, that this solution was solved a problem I've had recently with the previous version of FF (not being not able to open FF and getting the error message on another version of it running, which had to be closed in the first place - but there was no other version running.) In this case, too, before I discovered the solution, I could open FF using the option "Run as Administrator"). However deleting the parent.lock file does not resolve this issue.

You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder:

  • Can not disarmed "run as Administrator"

I have an application which is supposed to be launched at startup via a registry entry in HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\run. The application does not start when I connect to a standard user account. The app will run when I log into an administrator account. Application troubleshooting tips help States off the 'run as administrator' option for the *.exe file.

But it seems that I can not disable the 'run as administrator ' option for a standard user. Once connected the standard user and I opened the properties on the exe file dialog box and look for the Compatibility tab, the "Run as Administrator" box is checked and grayed out. When I click on the "change settings for all users", the "Run as Administrator" option is unchecked. When logged in as an administrator, the "Run as Administrator" box is unchecked and not greyed out.

As indicated, the user is a standard user.
My OS is Windows 7 Pro x 64. The program files are in the C:\Program Files (x 86).

    What I'm missing here?

    Hello Ganesh,

    Thanks for answering my question.

I'm not sure you understood my question. The program didn't need to run with elevated privileges. But I couldn't uncheck the "run this program as Administrator" for the standard user.

But after seeing your response and working on it, even once, I managed to solve it. In the control panel > user accounts, I temporarily put the administrator account. Then I could deselect him ' run as administrator.

    Nice day

  • run as administrator does not work after you use netplwiz to change the name of the account

    Hi all

I used netplwiz configure Auto loging in one of the accounts. While I was doing this, I changed the name of the account.
This action was simple and easily accessible.
However, after record change and restarting the PC, I can't use the RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR option more.
This means that I can't install or update any program now. I also can't run netplwiz or any other installation program more so I'm not able to reverse the name change.
The result is always the same and I can not yet take a screenshot so I took a picture: http://postimg.org/image/71lzyigwr/
Another problem - I have only a wireless keyboard so I can't use safe mode.
Is it possible to fix this?

    Here you:

    1. keep tapping F8 during the first phase of startup.
    2. select Repair from the menu.
    3. Select an administrator account, and then enter its password.
    4. When you are prompted, select System Restore.
    5. set Windows to a point before you changed things.
    6. Once completed, plan in advance and create, test and document a spare, even admin account that you have a spare House key. Running Windows with a single administrator account takes a lot of unnecessary risks.
  • No XP (service pack 3) or run as Administrator program compatibility options.

Another issue is before you install a program that I downloaded, I right click it and go to properties > compatibility and under run this program in compatibility mode for: there is no option for Windows XP service pack 3 or run as Administrator option. It lists only older versions of Windows and Windows NT 4.0 (service pack 5). I doubled checked that my OS is XP (service pack 3) and my account has administrator privileges, so it's really confusing me! Any clarification would be much appreciated!

    -Eva :)

Have you tried just downloading, just empty without trying to run it in compatibility mode? I don't think you'll find an xp in the drop-down list entry simply because you run a xp machine and there is no place to enter xp when you try to run a compatible software xp on a xp machine.

  • Printer not responding do not unless in administrator mode

I am only able to print one page of 'test' if I choose Run as Admin and choose Properties and print test page... If I just choose properties without choosing run as Admin, it will not print a test page and I can't print anything else at all... Help, please!

Go to start / Control Panel / Printers and click on properties (by means of run as Administrator option if needed).  This time, click the sharing tab and make sure that the printer is shared with everyone and give it a share name (you should be able to use the same name but it does not really difference) and full sharing of other measures to make it accessible to everyone.  I don't know if it will work, but I guess it's worth a try.

Go to start / Network and Sharing Center / Center network and Sharingg / add a printer.  Locate the printer we talk on the network and follow the steps to add under a different name (or you can use the same name-it will just create another icon of the printer with (2) next to him).  See if the same problem occurs when you create the printer using this method instead of this one.  I hope that this solves the problem (but I have my doubts, of course).  You are an administrator too?  If so, try to use your account to do instead of sound to see if it makes a difference.

I hope this helps.  Sorry the other options do not work - I've never seen a printer need to run as administrator to function before and I don't know how to put in place of the to do even if I wanted to do.  I'm thinking about all possible options that I imagine is that it originally and I honestly don't know.  I quickly run out of ideas.

    Good luck!

  • How can I enable the "Run as Administrator" install a program in Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium

    Hello

I am trying to install a backup program on my computer. I am the administrator and the only user of this computer. When I right click to install the program I do not get the "run as Administrator" option, but install. (For this program only all others I get "Run as Administrator".) After changing the UAC I still could not install. I then installed 'Take Ownership' in the menu, but still can not install the program because that supposedly, I do not have the necessary privileges. Then I contacted the manufacturer of the program and told me...

Based on the problem that you are experiencing, it is a possible solution, we have tried before.
I need you to delete a file (ctd.db - it can be represented by ctd right on your machine depending on settings)
    Go here:
    C:\Windows\System32\config\

The path to this program on my pc is not not than stated previously. I could not remove him. I tried other methods without success. Attempted to create another account as administrator, but was not allowed to do.

Any suggestion will be highly appreciated.

    Thank you

  • How to stop a program that runs as administrator

When you start a program that I use regularly, I clicked "run as administrator", how can I fix this so the program no longer works as an administrator?

I tried to go in the properties and uncheck "run as Administrator".

    Help, please!

The "Run as Administrator" option in the menu popup is used only once when you select.  It is not stored and permantently used for future time you use the program.

Just close the program, then click the icon to open it normally and it is no longer "will run as an administrator" unless tell you him again.

  • Cannot remove the run as administrator by a program icon option

Hi, I'm under Windows 7 Home Premium on a PC clean.  I had a problem with a program so I put for run as administrator (the icon properties, box to checked for run as administrator).  The icon of the program now has the emblem shield on it.

I have problems to remove this option.  Even if the option is unchecked under properties, the shield remains on the slopes of the icon and stills as administrator.

I also uninstalled the program, reinstalled AND the shield is back :-(

Can someone help me remove the option so that the program will run again in normal mode... NOT administrator mode.

    What about Paul

    Hi brispaul

We would like to know the name of the program that has the problem.

You can probably go to the location of programs where it is installed and remove the current shortcut and create a new shortcut from the source file.

By default, all the programs installed on your computer are listed in C: Program files

  • Most of the games that require 'run as administrator' not loading well much of the time, sometimes even resulting in a blue screen

OK, so the point is around 2 specific games that I play with my friend, those Heroes of Newerth and League of Legends. The two I need to aprove make changes to the computer to start. Together with launch normally, but when it comes to load a game, I'm gambling or not my pc will fuction when the loading is complete.

The problems differ from a partial freeze with occasional spikes along the screen to a snowy screen and sometimes even a blue screen or a forced reboot.

I doubt that the problem has nothing to do with the required performance, especially when it comes to League of Legends. My pc is brand new and it can run the latest game call duty on high graphics with no problems at all and it is several times heavier on the required performance than the other two 2.

Any ideas what could be causing it and how can I solve it?

My pc runs on Windows 7 on an AMD Athlon II x 4 630 to 2.80 GHz proccessor 2 GB of RAM, the card mother M4A785TD-V EVO and a gainward gt 240 512 MB GDDR3 graphics card.

Thank you all for trying to help me.

    Hi Apos,

Uninstall the game and reinstall it back by running the program as administrator and check if this is useful:

    Steps to follow:

    i. right click on the program

II. Select run as administrator from the list.

    Uninstall or change a program:http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/Uninstall-or-change-a-program

  • Run as administrator does not not for files bat inside the folder names with special characters such as)

    Dear all,
I am unable to run any file beats with "Run As Administrator" when the bat file is present in a folder that has (in his name.
    For example: I main.bat in d:\test (_8july) \main.bat.
The content of main.bat is like that.

    c:\windows\system32\cmd.exe /C "e:\test.bat."

The content of test.bat is like this:

    echo 'test' > %temp%/test.txt
    pause

If I double-click main.bat, I can see the file text.txt being created and 'test' written in it.
If I click with the right button on main.bat and select 'Run as administrator', cannot run the file beats and I get the error "d:\test" is not a recognized command.
    How to handle these situations?

If I run as c:\windows\system32\cmd.exe /C 'd:\test (_8july) \main.bat' to 'Run' in Start menu cannot run little. It gives the same error "d:\test" is not a recognized command.
    If I run as c:\windows\system32\cmd.exe /C "" d:\test (_8july) \main.bat"" it can work and works very well.
So, the question is when we choose 'Run as Administrator', it takes the file bat as insead "d:\test (_8july) \main.bat" of ""d:\test (_8july) \main.bat" is there a work around for UAC, we can pass the correct string

    Thanks in advance

  • Is it possible to run a program as administrator when not on the administrator account?

In my school, the servers had locked and the only account is a Standard account. Is it possible to run the program as administrator. When you right click, run as admin option doesn't show up. Is there a way to do this?

If you hold down the SHIFT key as you do a right click, see if run it as an option in the contextual menu Manager has been added. Then opens the dialog to enter the administration username and password.

    Hi Krishna Chai,

According the description, it seems that you have problems with the Google Chrome browser. I highly recommend that you either use the app "Internet Explorer" for Windows 8 or the desktop application. However, if you still want to use Google Chrome, go ahead and try the following steps:

Please answer the following questions so that I could help you further:

    (1) have you made recent changes to your computer?

    (2) do you have a parallel operating system installed?

    (3) are you receiving error messages?

There are only two things I can think of right now:

    Method 1: update
Visit this link to make sure you have the latest version of Google Chrome installed:

    https://www.Google.com/intl/en/chrome/browser/

    Method 2: reinstall
The last thing you can do is to reinstall Google Chrome. First, uninstall in Control Panel and then reinstall it from: https://www.google.com/intl/en/chrome/browser/

I recommend you to install the latest and fastest Internet Explorer from the Internet Explorer site.

If this does not resolve the problem or you need help, reply to this message.

My question is this: the Downloader or installer will load only if I "Run as Administrator" and then it crashes every time in seconds. I even tried the Adobe application that will go well and remove all the remains of the previous software hoping that he would, but no solution. It will continue to act as his footstool, consumption of RAM, but do nothing else than the loop on the same screen. I have to force quit the program so that he could even respond. I'm a little confused on where to go with it. Thank you!
