Open an instance of IE 32 bits to http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows7/Update-Microsoft-Office & click on the link "Web Site of Microsoft Update" to activate (turn on) Microsoft Update and update the default source. Office 2003 on PC Windows 7 used to run XP
A computer used to run XP has Windows 7 installed for some time. He also had Office 2003 is installed for some time. It just started coming up with a message, "Microsoft Security Essentials requires your attention. Support for this operating system ends"
This means operating system or should it make reference to the office?
Someone else did the 'upgrade', so I don't know how they did it.
Someone suggested that looks like Security Essentials is to find traces of Win XP.

Office 2003 updates do not install
Update for Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 Junk Email Filter (KB2553111), update security for Microsoft Office Excel 2003 (KB2553072), updated to filter spam in Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 (KB2553111) constantly fail when to start to update, have had no problems with others except those
These seem to be the only ones who will not install, I recently did an upgrade of my system to try to correct this and other issues. Clear up most of the things but this one has not changed.
I'm running Vista Ultimate 64
Perhaps you could try a repair of Office and then try the updates again.

The malicious software removal tool does not use an installer. As a general rule, when you run the malicious software removal tool, it creates a temporary directory named at random on the root of the drive of the computer. This directory contains several files, and it includes the Mrtstub.exe file. Most of the time, this folder is automatically deleted after the tool to the end of execution or the next time that you start the computer. However, this folder may not always be automatically deleted. In these cases, you can manually delete this file, and this has no adverse effect on the computer.

Impossible to install the Office 2003 security updates, starting on 17/04/2010
I received continual cannot install error messages for Windows Update for updates of security for my MS Office 2003 components, starting on 17/04/2010.
04-15-2010, an update for MS Office 2007 System was autoinstalled - KB981715 - as well as 9 other updates. After that, all Office 2003 security updates failed. Should I uninstall MS 2007 Office System update & try again to install Office 2003 updates? Do not have updated security for my office components is quite relative. Update provides links for 646 error code, but the "fix" does not help.
Since 06/08/2010, Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 SP1 Security Update for Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008 (KB979906) has also failed to install - error code 643. Same deal - troubleshooting process fails.
How can it be corrected problems?

Impossible to install Office 2003 on Windows 7 Starter netbook
Hi - I'm looking for help in setting up my office 2003 DVD on my netbook. I tried to connect a DVD player to my netbook (not good) and followed with a copy of the contents of entires of the DVD to my netbook via a flash drive (also not good).
In both scenarios, I get the following error:
Installation of Microsoft Office 2003: error 1723. There is a problem with the Windows Installer package. A DLL required for this install to complete could not be run. »Cords or suggestions would be appreciated.
Hi Steve Heff,.
You receive this error Windows Installer error 1723 when installing a program. Installation can be terminated prematurely, or there may be a fatal error during installation. Windows Installer error 1723 occurs because Windows Installer cannot start the source files for the configuration of the software application you are trying to install. These files may be missing or damaged. In general, the original MSI installation files will be cached in the ' C: winntInstaller directory before installation begins. Inappropriate caching of a file MSI is main causes of errors, too.
First of all, check if the Windows Installer service is started in the Services.
1. click on start.
2 type Service to start the search.
3. Locate the Windows Installer Service in the Services window.
4. make sure that the service is started, if it is to restart the service and check. Now try to install Microsoft Office and check.
If you are unable to install, then I suggest that you uninstall all files related to Microsoft Office 2003 by using Windows Installer Cleanup Utility.
See link: use the utility Windows Install CleanUp to remove Office 2000, Office XP or Office 2003: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301
Now try to install Office and check.
