• Office 2003 on PC Windows 7 used to run XP

  Since 06/08/2010, Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 SP1 Security Update for Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008 (KB979906) has also failed to install - error code 643.  Same deal - troubleshooting process fails.

  How can it be corrected problems?

Windows Installer error 1723 occurs because Windows Installer cannot start the source files for the configuration of the software application you are trying to install. These files may be missing or damaged. In general, the original MSI installation files will be cached in the ' C: winntInstaller directory before installation begins. Inappropriate caching of a file MSI is main causes of errors, too.

  First of all, check if the Windows Installer service is started in the Services.

  1. click on start.
  2 type Service to start the search.
  3. Locate the Windows Installer Service in the Services window.
  4. make sure that the service is started, if it is to restart the service and check.

  Now try to install Microsoft Office and check.

  If you are unable to install, then I suggest that you uninstall all files related to Microsoft Office 2003 by using Windows Installer Cleanup Utility.
