OfficeJet 5741: Fax by internet?

wanted to fax over the internet.   I have no land line (cell phone only).  It seems that the 5740's support or that they provide this particular plug-in?   Although there ARE other three of their model lines do. ??   WHY?      There is no available land line here in the country, but my ISP has this FOIP or voip or whatever his name. But still, I have to go digital to the circumvention of the analog option?  But my ISP rep does not it works or works fine?  (Risebroadband) talks about the fax by e-mail or what. ? $ 12 a month for a phone I won't use and a fax that probably does not work is not the case LOL

Hello

Its the (page #66) user guide:

Fax and digital phone services

Many telephone companies provide their customers with digital phone services, such as the following:

● DSL: a digital subscriber line (LAN) of services through your phone company. (DSL can be called ADSL in your country/region.)

● PBX: a private branch exchange (PBX) telephone system.

● ISDN: a system of integrated services digital network (ISDN).

● FoIP: a low-cost phone service that allows you to send and receive faxes with your printer using the Internet. This method is called fax over IP (FoIP).

For more information, see Fax over Internet Protocol on page 67.

HP printers are designed specifically for use with traditional analog telephone services. If you are in an environment of digital phone (for example, DSL/ADSL, PBX, or ISDN), you may need to use digital-toanalog or converters filters when you set up the printer for faxing.

NOTE: HP does not guarantee that the printer will be compatible with all ranges of digital services or providers, in all digital environments, or with all digital-to-analog converters. It is always recommended that you discuss with the phone directly company for setting options correct based on their line of services provided.

In short, it does not support fax on number line in native mode.

Kind regards.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8625: How many times and how often that redial officejet 8620 faxes?

How often and in what intervals fact officejet 8620 fax redial?

Where can I see the status of all pending composed?

    Hi RCP45,

Welcome to the HP Support forum.

I understand that you use a HP Officejet Pro 8625 e-all-in-one printer, and you would like to know how often the printer will recompose faxes would know viewing pending composed. I would like to help with that.

When you set printer busy redialn, or no response redialn, the printer will automatically start to dial the number of the recipient of the fax, the first transmission fails without delay. He will continue trying to send up to cancel key.

Because once the fax is cancelled the fax number must be entered again, either manually or selected from your speed dial entries, there is no list of faxes pending.

Please let me know if that solves the problem, or if you need assistance.

    Hey @kgarry,

I understand that you ask about fax without a phone of your Officejet Pro 8600 line. It is possible to fax without a phone through a paid service called eFax line. You can visit their Web page for more information.

If you look at a free service that allows you to receive documents, then you install a feature called ePrint.  This allows people to documents by e-mail at your address email of the printer. Emails sent to the printer will automatically display. You can visit this page for more information on ePrint.

It's hanging in wrongly. Your Xfinity (Comcast?) modem is connected to the
connection to the internet from your cable provider. You cannot send a fax to the
the cable line. The fax must be connected to your phone of the voice
    line.

  • How to get a newspaper like my Officejet J3608 fax

I have an Officejet J3608 which I run as for a stand-alone printer, copier and fax machine - that is to say, not connected to a computer. I need to prove I sent a fax to someone 5 months ago using the fax log, but the log that is currently printing gives the last 30 transactions, that is to say back 1 month ago about. Is it possible to extract a newspaper more there than that?

The Officejet J3608 can contain only the 30 last faxes that have been sent or received. There is no way to go back five months.

  • All-in-one Officejet J6400 Fax receive not always or not at all

OfficeJet J6400, Vista.  Connected to the laptop via cable and wireless.  It is connected to the same phone number line, with the answering machine.  Settings seem correct and even when I had previous HP printer.  4 rings on the answering machine pickup and 6 rings for fax receive.  The fax does not receive.  Even if auto answer is on.  I am able to fax, manually. (have not tried otherwise)

I have to figure out how to keep the auto answer on vs switch mode 'sleep' (of another post).  But sometimes it is not in Standby Mode and AutoA is off.   Regardless, machine does not seem to take faxes.  BUT, when you do the test with HPFaxme, it doesn't work. !

And, when you use the HP Solution Center, all settings are made, and sometimes their fax Test does not work.

Another question... in Fax configuration, which is PC modem in this question in quotes?  It's same as router? -"Are you using a PC modem (to access online services) on the same phone line as the device HP?   Answer is Yes or no.  Which is mine?

I don't have DSL, and fax is on the same phone line. I have a DSL filter connected to the wire, of course.  Another wire goes from phone line in the wall (there is a separator) to the router.  This configuration refers to highest question?

Is the best connection wireless or cable (printer for laptop)?

    Thank you!

I'm back earlier than expected.  I never ran any patches of the HP link because another action (s) would have helped (which is recommended for another problem I had).

    So-

I had the printer connected to the laptop via a USB connection and network.  (wire cable between the printer and the laptop and wireless through the printer setup)   Due to many problems to make the light stays on 'Auto response' (I posted on this separately in the recent past), I have the settings Fax arranged in a strange way to make this work.  So I didn't want to change these settings, what would be the recommended link for me to do.  For the problem of the 'auto response', I ended up connecting computer to the printer via the cable. And that probably contributed to this problem.

I kept the two connections since and chose USB (OfficejetJ6480 copy1) wire as my setting of the printer preference in the settings box of the printer in Control Panel.  I think that even when I did the Wifeless-network connection preferably in the settings area of the printer in the Control Panel, the receiving fax machine or tests do not seem to work (even if it was some time ago and not tried recently).

I think the duplicate connections was things confused.  The fax Test seemed to spend during a test of the printer settings button.  But he would not pass when the test has been made Fax Tools in the Solutions Center on computer. (And this I tested it today.)

SO, I deleted the wireless network connection and the "device" (officejetJ6480) in the settings of the printer in the control panel.  I simply removed it.  I have left the "copy1 OfficejetJ6480" intact and continue the preference for the 'peripheral '.

I have rebooted computer and run Fax Test of the printer and printer Solutions Center on computer configuration tool.  And they both passed Test.  Go figure.

And also, the test of HPFaxMe works very well.    Thus, 3 tests have passed. !

I hope this will be useful for someone even if it is confusion.

But I'm sure that one of the hotfixes in the MissTeri link should help too.

    Thanks MissTeri!

  • OfficeJet 4500 fax problems. Document feeder will not work correctly.

Hello, I hope all are well.

I have a cable for Officejet 4500 all-in-One.  For some reason, he was acting kind of odd.  One of my friends wanted to fax documents.  I turned on the printer waiting to happen to him.  This thing suddenly started printing of old faxes received two weeks earlier.  I've never touched a thing.

When my friend arrived, I went to fax his paperwork.  For some reason any thing would take the first page, however, stop the connection until the other seven would be sent.  I've set up again and it's the same thing with the second page.  A third time brought no action what so ever.  The document feeder would not move even the pages using.  I thought it was because the phone has been off the hook, but it does not solve the problem no more.

The only thing that he would make a rattling noise when moving even not the paperwork through.  I don't really know what to do with this thing.  Help, please.  Thank you.

  • FAX via Internet phone

I have been using our FAX via the regular phone line for years.  After the internet phone with our cable provider and internet, the FAX does not work.  Unable to get a dial tone. Someone knows this, and if so, were you able to solve the problem?   Of course, the cable operator said it is not their problem.

    Hi Gdadnshell,

Fax will not work on a VoIP / Internet phone connection.

HP has detailed the problem here:

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/document/c00302247

The quick answer is that the way phone VoIP/Internet works scrables fax signal so that it cannot be understood by the other machine.

Personally giving some options I think HP is optimistic. I run what is probably the biggest site on faxing right now, and the problem you are having is that we are most often contacted on the subject. Not yet heard of anyone who has been able to get the two to work together reliably.

    Hey @HD-Heemskerk,.

I see you are trying to fax from your PC in 10 Windows with printer all-in-one Officejet 5610. I can help you with that.

You should be able to fax if you download and install the latest drivers. You can find the drivers by clicking on this link.

When you want to fax you must start by opening to the top of the print window, as if you were going to print. When you do, you should see a printer or a file to print with the printer name and (Fax) at the end. If you select that and try to print, you should see your fax options appears.

Please let me know if this allows you to fax. If so, please click on accept solution. If you appreciate my help, please click on the thumbs up icon. The two icons are below this post.
