OfficeJet 6500 E709a: Officejet 6500 E709a - cannot scan

Hi all

I have a HP Officejet 6500 E709a. My computer is running the operating system Windows 10 Pro x 64, and I have the latest software/drivers installed as downloaded from the HP website. When trying to browse the HP Solution Center, I click on the button "scan"document"which is in the software. After clicking, a small box appears which says "HP Scanning", but it is only about 2 seconds before closing, after which nothing ever happens. She is supposed to appear a settings window which allows me to set my scan and scan settings, but as I said, this never happens.

Thank you all in advance for any help.

Cole

  • OfficeJet 6500 wireless cannot scan

I downloaded scan utility Dr. and it stops on the issue of WIA. I read the post explaining how to reset the service... and did it, but no sweeping. When running Scan Utility scanner sounded as he scanned and the printer says "scanning" and "full scan", and still I can't establish a connection to scan from windows fax/scan, (could not complete scan), or program paint, (impossible to extract the image from the camera), or as a garnish in UrL in the browser, (don't shoot any server error data). Unplugging, etc.. However, it prints via wireless very well.  Running win 7 (upgrade from vista) on HP Pavillion. What technical support helped me to connect to the printer and the PC a few years ago I think she used only a simple installation. It has scanned in the past... just haven't used in a year. THX

I have the problem and the solution. Perhaps to Travis at HP, this will make sense. Then... I went into the measure of backup HP Media Drive HP Document manager. There, I found prΘcΘdentes and simply swept away by the Doc Manager perfectly! Don't know why nothing else has worked, or if just Doc Manager 'takes over' the function or what, but there is solution. Thanks Travis for help suggestions, which incidentally, I tried, but nothing else has worked. ? !

    Hello

The application of HP Scan Pro for Mac OS X 10.4 and 10.5, so it seems you are using older software which are not provided for Lion.

Please remove completely any HP software installed using the scrubber tool:

    * Please note that the following steps will delete all HP software installed.

    1. click on menu go (click the desktop, then watch the menu in the bar at the top of the page)
    2. Select Applications
    3 select the Hewlett-Packard folder
    4. double-click on uninstall HP application
5 follow the uninstall to prompt to select a device to uninstall
    6. press and hold Ctrl + Alt + Cmd keys on the keyboard at the same time as you click on uninstall
7 approve any prompt to uninstall all HP software.

To avoid any problems due to the use of the software, be sure to repair disk permissions before you reconfigure the printer:

    1. open the Applications folder.
    2. go to the Utilities folder.
    3. double-click on disk utility.
4 Select the hard disk that contains the boot volume.
    5. go to the first aid tab and select Repair disk permissions.
Note: This process may take several minutes depending on the Mac and the amount of the permissions that need to be repaired. The journal of the progress will tell you when the process is complete.

Go into System Preferences > print & Scan

Click on the sign more and select your printer.

The latest version of the software for your operating system will be downloaded automatically.

If the software download fails for any reason, download and install the latest drivers 2.9 HP printer:

    http://support.Apple.com/downloads/DL907/en_US/HewlettPackardPrinterDrivers.dmg

Now add the printer by following the steps above.

Below you can find what scan methods can be used with Lion OS x:

  • OfficeJet Pro 8610: Cannot scan from the document feeder

I'm unable to scan a document using the ADF.  This has never been a problem until I recently updated my OS from Windows 7 to WIndows 10.  Nothing I found online seems to solve my particular problem.  My printer is connected to my Lenovo ThinkPad W520 computer by USB, this is what I've learned so far:

    I can print without problem.

I can copy a document from the Board without any problems.

I am able to copy a document using the charger, so the charger seems to be working.

I am able to scan a document from the tray, then the scan function also seems to work.

I checked the updates and the printer indicates that the firmware and software are up-to-date.

What can I do to once again allow me to scan a document from the document feeder?  Your help would be much appreciated.

Yes, under "Source", I got "Use Document Feeder so burdened" and I got the beep signaling that the document is loaded in the feeder.  So, it wasn't the problem, but I do it thanks for trying to help out.

Fortunately, I finally found a solution, although it took a job.  I have reset the printer to its defaults, uninstalled the printer (and its drivers) from my computer, downloaded the latest HP drivers (even if the printer had stated that he was "aware" before all this effort) and reinstalled the printer from scratch.  A lot of work, but the printer works now as it did before my upgrade to Windows 10.

While I'm not a "techie" and do not really understand why things work the way they do, I hope that my efforts may provide ideas for others who may have similar problems after upgrading to Windows 10.

  • HP Officejet 6500 E709n wireless - Scan to computer printer - question

    Hi all

I'm trying to run a scan from my printer to my iMac 10.8.3 running.   When I go to select the computer, it says no scan options.   Now, I can run a scan of my computer without problem, but I would like to be able to do it directly from the printer.  Any thoughts?

    Thank you

    Rich

EDIT: HP utility/drivers are installed.   Have downloaded automatically when I initially set up printer.   Don't know how to check the version.  I guess it's the latter.

    Hi rich,

The software provided for Mac OS X 10.8 Lion mountain for your printer cannot scan of the façade, but only from Mac using picture Capture, preview or printing & scanning.

You can find the software information and capabilities listed below:

So you can find the steps to scan using the provided solution:

  • All-in-one HP OfficeJet 6100: cannot scan multiple pages to a PDF after upgrade to windows 10

I used to use Hexonic software ScantoPDF to scan multiple pages and save in a single PDF document. After the upgrade that software no longer works, even after I re-installed.

I searched for another free application and safe to use to scan documents to PDF format since HP has no software of the printer to the HP officejet 6100 and two scan Windows 10 applications are primitive (it doesn't have an output PDF option, and the other Scan, only lets you scan a page in a document.

Help! Can someone please provide a free software application that will allow me to scan multiple pages in a document?

    Thank you.

    Hello

Try to use NAPS2 which is a freeware software and allow the digitization of several PDF files:

  • HP officejet 4630: copy and scanning does not

Since the upgrade to Windows 10 HP 4630 Oficejet stopped working for copying and scanning options.  Print and fax options are OK.  Have updated to the latest version of the software (many times) without success.   Also checked the scan of the computer is turned on.  When you use HP Print and Scan verification pilot doctor fails (unable to communicate with the product). Follow the suggestion without any positive result.

Have tried everything that I could find on the internet to solve the problem without success.  Any ideas what else can be done or

the driver for scanning and copying does not work with Windows 10 in all?

Even if I try to use the only printer with Dell computer off, still can not copy or scan a document.

Hello! Welcome to the HP community @Stewball1313,

I read your post about how you are unable to make copies or your Officejet 4630 analyses, and I wanted to respond with my own suggestions. As you can not copy, it is a sign of a hardware problem as copies do not involve the computer somehow. I think the question can be a failure of scan of your description, as for you to open the link I posted below and try a reset and checking the connection of power supply and then try to make a copy again. If copies are still not, I would then contact HP directly to see about a printer replacement or trade for a new unit. If you encounter other problems, let me know and I'll do my best to help you!

(Note: the Officejet 4630 is compatible with Windows 10 and it has full functionality of drivers available for the operating system.) However, if the problem is a hardware failure, a driver will fix a hardware problem).

All products - in - One HP - a 'Failure of the Scanner' Message displays on the all-in-one control panel and you cannot scan, copy or Fax

  • Printer Officejet 4500 won't scan on the new computer in Windows 8

My Officejet 4500 G510a worked fine with my Windows 7 computer.  For my new computer Windows 8, I downloaded the HP driver and print and copy fine but will not scan.  It is connected by USB cable.  Windows Fax and Scan does not scan, or painted.  I uninstalled all the HP software and reinstalled twice still cannot scan. Each time, after you have reinstalled the driver, he begins to scan and hangs up with a part of the preview showing.  I received a message "HP cue scanning flow component has stopped working".  I ran HP print and scan doctor and he hangs up in the pilot audit section and will not go further. Any help would be appreciated

Very interesting that moving to another port USB changed behavior.   You have all the other USB devices connected to the computer as well?   If so, don't remove the behavior change?

You happen to have access to a USB 2.0 hub any?  Often if there is problems with the USB ports or the USB chipset on a system, putting a hub USB 2.0 between the device and the calculation can solve or improve connectivity.
