OfficeJet 8000

All the lights on the printer start flashing. Nothing prints then. I restart the printer and after a page, or she does it again.  I replaced the print head and print the test sheet in halfway and the printer starts flashing again.  I searched the help section, but according to HP when all the lights twinkle is an invalid state.  Is it possible to fix this problem?

To be more precise:

All the lights of four cartridges, print head lights, the light of the recovery, both the light supply all sparkle.  They do not Flash. They sparkle just quickly.

I see that you have a problem with dancing lights.

It seems that the printer is in a failed State.

Try to clean the bottom of the printer head and contacts on the cartridges to water and lint.

Also perform a hard reset. Unplug the power cord at the back. Leave for 30 seconds and plug it back.

When you plug it in, make sure it is plugged into a wall outlet instead of a surge protector, if not already.

  • HP OfficeJet 8000 just stopped printing

    Hi all

I have a HP OfficeJet 8000 and have used for a while.  I tried to connect to my new comcast wireless router, but it does not work, so I re-connected to the airport, he was happy on and all was well.

The other day, it just stopped printing.  The green light is on, all connections are secure.  It was working fine the day before and then more nothing.

When I go to print, it shows it's open the connection and the percentage of the printed page and about a minute after that 100%, it says unable to connect to the printer, operation timed out.

    Why?  I need my printer!

Hello wysmommyand thank you for getting back to me!

I would recommend your computer and the printer off.  Once they are both down, unplug your power of router for 60 seconds and plug it back.  Once the router will begin broadcasting, turn on the printer and the computer.

I would also recommend following the steps outlined in this document on a "printer not found" Error Message appears for the Officejet Pro 8000 Printer Series.

    Please hold me!

  • network unavailable officejet 8000

My Officejet 8000 wireless worked fine until I added an Apple Airport Express to my network Airpoty/Time Capsule.  I uninstalled the HP software, downloaded the installer for OS Snow Leopard (current version on MacBook), installed.  The installation program recognizes the two parts of my network, both with the high signal strength.  When I select the network and click on continue, I get a message "(my network) selected Wi - Fi network is not within reach of the unit." (Change the network/Retry)

    Of course, it is.

I tried to restart the airport / Time Capsule, but I can not get by this message.  I can print by plugging into the USB port, but with a company Asus Tablet laptop, MacBook and desktop on the wireless, it's a big pain.

Any help will be very appreciated!

Well Yes, change the channel on the Time Capsule to 11.  I believe that the Express will join just any channel its base station is on (Time Capsule) and you can't change it to "Stretch" mode

I guess that they both have a green light?

If this does not work, unplug the wall Express, install the printer, then plug the Express.

  • Officejet 8000 Wireless: color printing

First time here? Learn how to post and more

I understand that you have a question in color printing.  You print a diagnostics page and inks exhibition about half full and health of the print head is OK.  When you were trying to print each color individually only yellow printed.

Here is a link that I think will help with this difficulty:

  • OfficeJet 8000 wireless put in place

I use an Officejet Pro 8000 on a network with an Ethernet cable. I would also occasionally led to use the wireless option, linking up to our wireless access point, but worry that the printer's IP address can be changed after Wireless Setup Assistant.
Any advice on the best procedure for use as above would be appreciated.

    Thank you
    Dennis

There should be no effect on the (static)? IP address of the Ethernet connection.  Each type of connection (Ethernet and wireless) has its own unique MAC address.

  • Quality of ink Officejet 8000 VS Deskjets? What is the best?

Who uses the best quality of ink?  OfficeJet Pro 8000 or Deskjets?

OfficeJet Pro 8000 uses pigments and Deskjets dye.  Pigmented inks are supposed to be better than dye inks.

However, for Officejet Pro 8000 (HP 940) inks are much cheaper that I wonder about the quality.  Is - this cheap due to supply and demand (reserved for desktop = a lot of impressions = inks purchased most often) or is it cheap because it is of lower quality?

The reason that the ink cartridges are cheaper is because the Office jet 8000, the cartridge is simply a reservoir of ink. the print heads are separated and would only need to be replaced if they were not. Deskjets you buy ink and the new printheads in each cartridge.

  • HP Officejet 8000 - long-term storage

Can anyone advise on the correct procedures for storing long-term Officejet printers.

We have 24 printers altogether and use them in batches of 4 only for a week, they are stored until they are shipped to another location to be reused for a week.  Total time in storage could be 6 months.

I don't want to print head and ink problems, replacement print heads and ink isn't ecenomical - its cheaper to buy a new printer.

    Hi Ian_JJ,

You want to ensure is that printers are off using the power button. In this way, that the print heads can be installed on the service station. If the print heads are not well installed on station service that is when you can expect to get the ink dried in the print heads. This printer cartridges are there just to provide the ink to the print heads. Let me know if you need help.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8000: installation of the driver wireless Officejet 8000 Pro says default gateway is 0.0.0.0

I'm chasing a well-documented problem of my printer lost network connection after a variable period of printing to do not. The only way to connect is to change the power supply, but the printer may take 5 minutes to blow and grunts until it settles and prints...

I put a static IP address on the printer (10.0.0.250) as well as an empty default gateway successfully, and the documents are printed after 5mins of blowing and grunting (save the regular lost connection which I'm hunting...).

I put what I thought has a static IP address on the router to match (see image below), but now I don't know if it was necessary, and if the 'hosting of the fixed DHCP server' is correct. It might be useless and missleading...

Using the configuration of the printer to 10.0.0.250 interface, it seems to accept the installation of the network when the default gateway is blank. With the help of 10.0.0.2 caused the 'page not found' error in my browser (Chrome).

However, when you try to reinstall the drivers, the installer has grumbled to the default gateway is set to 0.0.0.0, which currently is the only way it will work...

The Win7 PC is plugged into the router.
The printer wireless to the router.

ipconfig on the pc gives Ethernet card details below.

So basically I have no idea what I'm doing...!

    ==============

Ethernet connection to the Local network card:

    The connection-specific DNS suffix. :
    Link-local IPv6 Address...: fe80::c8e1:63ef:85e0:7 24% 13 c.
    IPv4 address...: 10.0.0.249
    ... Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0.
    ... Default gateway. : 10.0.0.2.

    Router config.

Thank you for your comments. It seems that I solved the problem of the default gateway. Time will tell if the remains of the printer connected through long periods of no use (see update below).

It seems that the configuration of the router of the "DHCP fixed existing host" has nothing to do with the device assigned a static IP address. In fact, it seems that this setting prevents the printer through a default gateway of the router address.

I noticed that when you give the PC a fixed IP, it connected through the router without any other configuration of router. If I reasoned that it may be applied to the printer also, so I moved the printer 10.0.0.251 and Bingo! the default gateway can be set to the IP address of the route.

Since then I downloaded to other updates, which is supposed to correct the common problem of wireless printers, loss of the connection.

I'll try to report in the next few weeks an update about the stability of connection network printers.

    UPDATED: May 23, 2016

And more of the foregoing, my router support suggested I increase a parameter "timeout" from 24 hours to 10 days. I did it more than a week. Today, the printer worked after the impression of not for about 5 days

  • OfficeJet 8000 - Cartrdige cradle move

Won't spend my cartridge cradle. I was in the middle of printing 2 documents. A print, the other does not and a message indicates the cartridge cradle cannot move. When I opened the top, the cradle of the cartridge was moving well. The printer feed twice by a sheet of paper and continued to display the message. Now it does absolutely not move. Ive worked through the solutions available, look for blockages, etc.. I manually moved the cradle and it moves smoothly. I've moved all the way to the right and to reset the printer and again to the left. Nothing works.

  • Network Officejet 8000 problem

I can't see my new printer on my network.  The printer reports the expected address, but the address is not seen by other computers.

The printer is connected via a USRobotics router to a router Netgear RP334.  The computers on the network see USRobotics unit, but nothing beyond--including another computer that works via the device of the USR.

Well, you can try to manually install the printer after deletion in the list of printers.

    Windows:

    1. make sure the printer is on and connected to your network. Verify that you can access the printer's internal web page by accessing its IP address before continuing.
    2. click on > start > Control Panel > printers.
    3. click on add a printer
    4. Select local printer
    5. Select create a new port and select Standard TCP/IP Port, and click Next.
    6. under device type, select TCP/IP Device. Under the name of host or IP address, the IP address.
    7. Select Hewlett-Packard in the list of manufacturers and select and select your printer model. Click Next.
If your printer model is not in the list, then select disk provided, browse the CD that came with your HP printer and select the first file begins with hp and ending with INF. click Open, then OK. Select your printer model. Click Next.
    8. If prompted, use the driver that is currently installed.
    9. He will ask the name of the printer - enter a new name or use the one existing. This will be the name of the printer that you select from other applications.
    10. we may ask you to share the printer. Make a choice and click Next.
    11. the printing area of Test Page is displayed. Go ahead and print it out.
    12. click on finish.

    For Mac:

-Select the sign + to add again. Search for the printer, select it, and wait until the button 'Add' becomes available. Until it clicks.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8000 Wireless does not connect to my new Airport Extreme router

I've owned my Officejet 8000 Wireless printer for about a year and had no problems with it.  However, my old wireless router wasn't fully compatible Mac so I couldn't fix it with a password.  I now need a secure network, so I bought an Apple Airport Extreme router in December.

Last night, I installed the router and it works fine on my iMac, my laptop and my iPhone.

However, tonight, I'm trying to implement Officejet Pro 8000 with no luck.  I searched the posts here for 3 hours and am not finding the help I need.  Based on the other posts, I read, I describe my situation below.

I am trying to set up the printer in my iMac Intel with Mac OS 10.6.4

I'm trying to set up the printer with the installation wizard HP I just install the printer software.

On the first screen of the wizard, it tells me that my device is not configured (I agree)

Then I ask him to set up a wireless network.

When I get to the network selection page, both my network AND my network of comments (that I let my neighbor use) are on the list with the full signal strength.

When I click on my network and then continue, the HP installation wizard hangs and I have to stop, he.

When I click on my guest and then network continue, I get the message that my network is not within reach.  (FYI, the printer is 10 feet from the router).

I tried to power on/off the printer, the router and the computer at all different stages of the process with no luck.

    For my Airport:

My radio is set to the most compatible choice

MAC access control is not enabled

    Everything is WPA2 security

'Use wide channels' and "Create a closed network" is unchecked

The channel is set to 11

I'm happy to try the "Add client in the network" thing I've seen on other posts, but I don't think that I have a front panel of the printer where I can start the "WPS" (don't know what it is) process.   If I do, it is not obvious and not in the HP manual.

My ISP is Comcast (cable internet).

I'd really, really grateful for the help!  Please let me know what I forgot to include information, and I will be happy to provide it.

    Thank you!

OK to reset the printing system again, he may be blocked.

The printer is connected to my turn, and it prints fine from there. I tried loading installation / setup CD to join the process of network connectivity, but (I guess since many updates of Windows 7 because I bought the printer & my system) all I get is the error message. "The operating system on this computer is not supported - current operating system: 601.64.

Does anyone know how to reconnect my network printing capability without using the CD "Setup / Install? Y at - it an update of the CD (software download) that I can use to run the option of network connectivity?

Hello @roger232 , welcome to the forums!

I would recommend troubleshooting using the guide I posted for you below. Cartridges seemed its OK for me personally however, the problem may be with the printhead (s), and it is still possible with a good read to them (as you mentioned). Give a procedure and if the problem persists, call us directly to discuss your printing with HP options. I'll leave details below as well!
