OfficeJet Pro 6800

I have an iMac, OS 10.6.8. I bought an Officejet Pro 6800 in August 2013, new in box. To install wireless to the router. Worked fine until that HP pushed a software update for the printer via Apple Software Update week from 13 to 13 Oct. Since that time, the machine refuses to print from any application on your computer. It will scan to the computer. It allows to print an e-mail sent to her.

When trying to print from an application, the document appears in the printer queue. The print queue says conneteted for printer, print. After a few seconds, the State of the printer is idle. Nothing is displayed.

I followed all the breakdowns on this site and tried to pass to sift through all the messages of support. Nothing works.

I submitted to warranty and HP have rejected the warranty claim, stating that the warranty expired a full year before the printer was purchased.

I want to get this to work or get my money back. Due to the time lost trying to get this thing to work, I prefer the later version.

Problem is solved. I called technical support. The HP system wouldn't let me do this live chat that he insisted that my warranty expired in 2012, despite the receipt of an e-mail from HP earlier in the day showing the guarantee had been updated based on the documentation I sent an email the day before.

It was that was the IP address of the printer does not match the IP address of the printer from the printer in the IMac system folder. The final figure has '1' was absent. Obviously in the automatic update of the software of the previous week, that figure goes no more.

try to turn the printer off by unplugging the power cable at the back of the printer then power on.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8600: Help: I changed the cartridges and they are locked (JO 6800)

I had a few problems print quality with my OfficeJet Pro 8600 and I changed the ink cartridges (950/951XL). Unfortunately, the problems are remained so, instead of buying a new printer head, I bought a new printer: a 6015 OfficeJet at Staples. First of all, I had to install the set up of the cartridges but pass them the old printer, which I had already brought to the depot of garbage to new XL versions. And guess what? The cartridges were locked! Now, I have to remove the locks in the old broken printer (what is left) or I can throw them-which is a shame because I bought the new 8615 especaially because it uses the same (expensive) XL cartridges. Please HP: help me. A loyal customer.

Any cartridge that is installed in your Officejet Pro 8600 would not be usable in another printer, including a different of Officejet Pro 8600 8600 Pro Officejet "cartridge protection" was defined.  This cannot be reset, even in the original printer.  Turning off the cartridge of the printer's built-in web server protection will not affect future cartridges installed in the machine.

Given the circumstances, I suggest call HP and ask if they can help to.  If they decline please post here and I'll see if I can help with a different approach.

You can disable the protection of the cartridge in your Pro Officejet 8615 for the future.

  • HP OfficeJet Pro 6830 - scan to network?

    Hello

Anyone know if it is possible to set up scan to network folder/path directly using the Officejet Pro 6830? The option does not appear on the printer control panel and requires the computer to be turned on in order and this option for the analysis to cross successfully.

If not, are there plans to add this feature in a new version of s/w?

    Thank you

    Breleur

    HI Sylvain,.

The model HP Offiecjet 6830 Pro does not support scanning to a network shared folder.

For series Officejet Pro 8600 Officejet series manages this type of functionality, not the 6800 series.

I highly doubt such a feature will become supported in the future...

You can check the scanning to E-mail option of the printer, such only require the printer to connect to the network and need not the PC can be powered on:

I note also that the 8600 OfficeJet is connected as a printer via WiFi network and worked perfectly with the captain.

responsibility to provide drivers to work for an update of the OS is with the developer of this device, not Apple. visit the page of the developer for your make and model camera and see if they offer drivers, otherwise contact the developers. Apple will sometimes provide printer drivers, but if a device is a legacy printer the developer may choose to retire it from use.

Two weeks ago, I set up a HP Officejet Pro 8600 more using two USB & ethernet cable connections... Everything works very well on all devices - iPad, iPhone, MacBook Pro, Win7 desktop PC and portable Win7... until the printer goes to sleep.  We does not display every day, so it may be a few days between printing / scanning.

As I kept an eye on to do this, it has happened twice now, it may take a few days before the printer is unresponsive.  When laptops Windows 7 need to print, the printer does not respond until what feed us the cycle.  The INVESTIGATION period has not changed on the printer and the software HP Update says that everything is up-to-date.

From what I can tell, other devices - Win 7 Desktop, iPad, iPhone, and MacBook Pros seem to be the problem.

Win 7 laptop 1 - connection WiFi AP w / cable for printer

Win 7 laptop 2 - cable ethernet to AP w / cable for printer

Win 7 Desktop - USB cable for printer

MacBook Pro - cable ethernet to AP w / cable for printer

iPad/iPhone - WiFi connection AP w / cable for printer

Set a static IP address in the printer out of the router's DHCP range.  Use a channel wireless fixed like 1.6 or 11 never 'auto '.   Power at the same time.  Power on router wait 2 minutes.  Please turn on printer and connect.  Try now.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 N911a: Default community names

This is because it is considered as a vulnerability by CVE

I suspect that @jfba done refers to the SNMP community name, not the name of the printerto Windows .

I have no idea if this can be changed on the Officejet Pro 8600 printers; LaserJet 400 Pro M475dn, the value can be changed via the Integrated Web server interface:

  • Problem with the HP Officejet Pro 8500 printer: clean the print heads each time it is turned on

    Hello everyone,

the printer HP all-in-one Officejet Pro 8500 (A909a - product n. CB022A) clean the print heads whenever I turn it on. This problem affects any HP Officejet Pro 8500 printer, it is not a problem only of this one I bought. It is a boring bug and annoying because each power clean print heads on involves two bad disadvantages:

    1. waste of ink (each heads cleaning process consumes little ink);
    2. too much time (2-3 minutes) to prepare the printer after plugging.

I upgraded my printer with the latest firmware available on the HP site (firmware ver. DLM1FN1006BR), but the bug is still present.

    At this point, I ask:

    1. There is a way (or procedure) to disable automatic cleaning this useless to all power on?
    2. Can we communicate with the HP engineers or tell me how to contact directly one of them to indicate the bug and request a new firmware updated?

Please don't tell me to leave the printer on all the time or that the printheads to each cleaning power is normal behavior! Where then are power and ink savings claimed for this printer model?

I hope that a solution to this problem. Thanks in advance to everyone will help me!

Maintenance when the printer is turned on is normal and is required to keep the printheads in good health (not blocked). See here for more information.

With respect to energy savings, the printer automatically goes to low power mode when the don't feel not for awhile.  It is not necessary turn the unit on to save energy.

  • "Scan To E-mail" configuration on HP Officejet Pro 8600 more N911g

It's the same problem reported by several other users of this forum to which no solution has been provided.

I was not successful to set up the scan e-mail option for a HP Officejet Pro 8600 more N911g bought 12 August 2012 and using CLP1CN1150CR firmware.

I'm trying to do through the interface of the Web server built into the printer from an iMac running Mac OS X 10.6.8 and the 5.8.0 HP utility.  More specifically the page under 'outgoing Scan-> Scan to E-mail-> e-mail profiles.

I tried 2 SMTP from different servers, each one works well to send the email from the computer: Apple iCloud mail service (formerly Mobile Me, formerly known as.) Mac) and AT & T Net messaging service.  I checked the server name, port number, and authentication login and password were all correct.

When scanning to email serves as the printer, I get an error message: unable to connect to the server.  Check the address and the name of the server.

During a test of the computer when configuring a profile of outgoing mail, I get an error message: the device was unable to send the test e-mail message. (EmailAccounts-timeout).

When I try to configure the page under "Settings-> E-mail Alerts-> mail server" and use exactly the same values as those in the e-mail profile out above, registration and Test option fails with an error message: the device was unable to send the test e-mail message.

Oddly enough, I am able to use the client to the computer with the option scan to the computer-> e-mail in PDF format or by e-mail in JPEG format.  With this option, the file is scanned and added as an attachment to an e-mail message from the Mail in Mac OS X client.  The e-mail message is sent via SMTP server even when I press the button send.

All the error messages seem to indicate that the client software of electronic mail of the printer is unable to establish a connection to the SMTP server.  However, it is unclear what configuration setting is one that could be the cause of the problem.

After further research, I noticed that there is another default possible values of port Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP):

    • Port 25 is the standard SMTP port number.
    • Port 465 is the number of SMTP over SSL, Secure SMTP (SSMTP) port.
    • Port 587 corresponds to the port number dedicated for a presentation Mail (MSA) Agent that uses a variant of SMTP, as specified in RFC 6409, which requires that clients are authorized and authenticated to use the filing of mail service.

  • HP OfficeJet Pro 8620: RDP 8620 Officejet prints strange lines

I tried to find an answer to this for almost a month.

We have a HP Officejet Pro 8620 and we want to be able to print from a remote computer to ours. The printer is shared.  We'll call the local computer pc1 and the computer remote pc2. PC1 remotes in pc2 using a standard Windows 7 Remote Desktop connection. PC1 sharing their printer with pc2 by redirect. the sharing of each resource to which is connected to it. PC1 is trying to print, and then waits. The printer that is connected to the pc1 via USB cable gives us a message that looks like this of course is not what we want when we try to print an Excel worksheet. No, this is not the complete document. This is the first 1/3 or the page and the rest is completely white. It almost looks like a code any. I installed the drivers on ppc1 both pc2. I tried the drivers universal instaslling. I was told that get this work 4 years ago was very easy, but I could not crack. Any advice or assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Problem has been resolved by the default driver. Has not reappeared since we have updated for the generic driver for 8600. Had to install the driver on the two machines.

  • do I have to buy color ink cartridges? HP Officejet Pro 8600 more Windows XP

    HP Officejet Pro 8600 more

    Windows XP

The printer will not print anything (including black and white which is my default setting), at least that I have installed a new yellow ink cartridge.  He says that the cartridge is exhausted and must be replaced before printing.    I have black and white printing color cartridges? Is there a solution? Thank you very much.

    DavidDavid salvation,

Yes, you will need to replace the yellow cartridge to continue printing. Here's a good explanation of the design of the print mechanism, and what is needed to keep them in good working condition. Your printer is user replaceable print head. With this printer's ink lines that need to be filled in ink in this way that the print head should not be clogged jets in turn cause poor print quality problems.

Written by Bob_Headrick on the wire note: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Other-Printing-Questions/Officejet-8500-won-t-print-Black-ink-only-if-other-colors-are/m-p/1706581#M67899

HP, as other printer manufacturers, offers you with permanent print heads printers requiring ink for all colors, avoid the print heads.  HP, like some other manufacturers, also offers printers with user replaceable print heads.  These may of may not require ink in all colors in print, even though damage may occur if the print from the cartridge empty.  Finally, HP as some other manufacturers also offers printers with the printhead into the ink supply.  He is replaced at each change of cartridge.  These printers will happily print with a diet low, empty or many deleted completely same models.

When you buy your next printer (from HP or from another manufacturer) be sure that you understand what is the type of printer and choose one that fits your needs.

  • OfficeJet Pro L7680 print from Windows ME

I have a few PCs in a network running on Windows ME, and I would get very BASIC printing, connect to a HP Officejet Pro L7680 all-in-One color in the same network. I don't have scanning or fax, only very basic print options. Suggestions how to recover a basic driver?

    Thanks in advance

    Paolo

All you have to do is to add a TCP/IP printer to the printers IP address port and install the HP Deskjet 990c printer driver included with ME (?). which should help you to print.
