OfficeJet Pro 8630: Officejet Pro 8630 don't Scan to Email after move to new office

We have recently moved offices and now we can not Scan to e-mail at work (he has worked great previously).

We are on a wireless network at the office and I can print fine, but no scan to E-mail.

I tried the settings via the web interface, I rebooted the router and the printer, I deleted all the accounts on the web interface and created a new, but it won't always work.

Help?

Hey @KBoyett,

Welcome to the Forum from HP Support.  I understand that you are unable to reconnect the scanning to e-mail, using your HP Officejet Pro 8630 e-all-in-one printer.  I would like to help.  I have a few steps, you can try that may fix this problem.

It is optimal that you have a wireless connection.  I do not recommend restoring the default settings of your printer to make sure that all old settings scan to e-mail are deleted from the printer.  Here's how:

  • From the front of your printer, press Setup
  • Touch Tools
  • Press restore defaults

This will clear your wireless network, Web services, and other custom printer settings.

Then, follow these steps:

  • Connect to your wireless network (run Setup under wireless settings wireless Assistant)
  • Tap the copy icon on the lower left below to enable Web services
  • If your webservices are enabled you can now configure your scan to e-mail

There are two ways to Setup scan to e-mail:

Method: use the scan to e-mail Wizard to set up scan to email

Follow these steps to use scanning to e-mail Wizard in the HP software to set up the Email scanning function.

Printer is working and it is interesting to windows 8 "HP scan and capture" app works but can scan to network folder or no longer use the scanner in other windows such as windows fax applications.  Had worked fine with win 7 64 bit.  I removed all instances of Panel Manager RESUME and control device, rebooted and installed the latest version of the software and drivers website.  Print and scan the program doctor says problem with WIA and TWAIN and get error "cannot communicate with printer" even if it prints very well.  I am connected wirelessly with a static IP address using a Cisco EA4500 router (even once all this has worked with windows 7, but not with windows 8).  Also disabled norton AV and firewall.

    Appreciate the suggestions/fix.

    Thank you.

Ok.  I think I found a solution to this inability to analyze (but with the HP scan and capture app) and for windows paint, fax, etx to recognize the scanner pro OJ8600 while being able to print.  Because I never got no solution, I thought I'd post what I have so that maybe it will help someone else solve the problem.  He ends this uninstall/reinstall HP drivers and software/reg cscrubbing/port opening/firewall/AV tweeks did nothing.  I uninstalled the drivers for logitech and webcams microsoft that had been installed on the machine has Windows 7 before windows 8 analysis update, restart PC and now everything is back as it was before the victory 8 upgrade, at least for now. In fact, I have a HP AIO peripheral job! Do not know if the webcam drivers are not compatible with win 8 or exactly what the issue was but seems as if they were in conflict with the wia and/or drivers HP; uninstalling them seems to have worked.  Finally I can find and install the new drivers of webcam but, after trying to figure this out for a month, I think I'll leave it be for now.  I hope this helps someone!

We just got a hp laserjet pro cm1415fnw, he manages to print, but unfortunately it will not scan. We have set up to be wireless since it will be used by different users. When I run the HP printer and scan Dr. it is said that there is an error of WIA. I've tried uninstallin and reinstall all the drivers and software, as the recommended HPPSdr, nothing happened. I went in the forums and checked the services that should be running for the scan to work. All services have increased, but still it will not scan. I'm running out of options here with this device. If someone could please give me some advice on how to solve the problem of scanning, I will be extremely grateful.

    what I am doing wrong?

    Hello
Gmail has changed several security options that can block the printer to connect to their servers.

First, open the following link and ensure that you are connected to the same account that you define for the printer.
    https://myaccount.Google.com/

In the section connection & security click on signature in Google and make sure 'The 2-Step check' is defined as 'Off '.

In the left pane click on connected applications & sites and make sure that 'Access to less secure applications' is defined as 'ON', otherwise the check fails.

In the left pane click peripheral activity & notifications, within the "security events" section click on the link to control events and make sure there is no connection blocked attempt (it will be highlighted in red), if there is no warning, proceed to the screen to ensure there is no block for this device.

Once you are running a test for the outgoing user profile and check if the problem resolved.

    Kind regards

  • HP OfficeJet Pro 8620: HP OfficeJet Pro 8620 Scan to Email function

HP OfficeJet Pro 8620 is a great value for all the features it offers. "Scan to Email" was one of the reasons why I bought this printer. Even if I can do this fucntion work with my gmail and iCloud emails, I feel very uncomfortable in the provision of those emails of credentials while creating this function.

    (1) only the printer stores the name username/password encrypted?

    (2) EWS don't encrypt the password while it will send to the SMTP service?

    (3) HP provides SMTP service with connected HP or HP Support Forum's securities (this forum!). I'll feel more comfortable in the use name of user and password of HP for this service than GMail or Apple

    Your help is very appreciated.

    Hello

If I remember correctly, the printer should offer to save the e-mail address in the address book during the scan to email, I have not any access to the printer properly to ensure that.

In addition, to add the e-mail addresses to the address book, follow these steps:
    1. open the built-in web server (EWS) by clicking on the printer homepage (SAP software HP Officejet Pro 8620 or)

by using the IP Address of the printer from your browser (click it Ethernet or the wireless icon on the bottom of the screen to see it.)
    2. on the scan tab, click address book.
    3. click on new to add a unique e-mail address.
    4. follow the on-screen instructions. The entry is added to the address book Email.

You can add up to 15 email addresses.

Thank you for joining the HP Forums!

You can contact the electronic/Internet mail service provider or system administrator to get the information. SMTP server names and the names of ports are usually easy to find by doing a search on the Internet. For example, to use terms like 'the gmail smtp server name' or 'the yahoo smtp server name' research.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 N911n - documents scanned by omitting

I have problems scanning to an email from our HP Officejet Pro 8600 N911n.  I use Windows 8, but I was able to reproduce the error on a Windows 7-based computer and a Windows XP computer.  When I scan a single page to the e-mail I can send it successfully and all recipients are able to successfully open the attachment. But if I scan several pages, recipients, including myself, are unable to get the PDF to open it.  This is the error message I get:

We have 5 profiles set up in the scanner and it seems I'm the only one with questions.  So far, I updated scanning engine, updating my Adobe Reader software and deleted and recreated my profile for scanning to e-mail.

    All advice is appreciated.

    Hi hratti,

As I read your description, I belive that you are using the analysis of e-mail service that does not involve the computer.  The printer can send the scans as email directly via an e-mail provider.

You use a different email provider as other profiles?  You could try to set up a gmail account and enter the new gmail email address in your profile.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8500 first stopped scanning

My Officejet Pro 8500 has stopped scanning.  The message window says it is not connected to the network.

I changed my DSL provided by the local cable company to ATT U verse a few months ago, but the problem does not seem to be related to this change.  I say this because when I ran the diagnostics, the printed page says that my problem is "the wireless radio does not work. Contact HP support. »

HP support offered advice tech for $29) warranty, or sell me a new all-in-one.

The wireless radio can be fixed? Is it a software problem.  I have to buy a new all-in-one?

    Hello JessicaD,

I see that you have a problem with the wireless radio fails on your Officejet 8500. To inform you in this regard, if the radio has failed, it is not a replaceable part by customer, but I'll try to help you with the problem.

Start as a result of this document: printer does not maintain the wireless connection.
With this document, I would like to track:
    (1) restore your default settings of network on the printer.
Go to setup (can be a wrench), network, and then restore the default settings of the network. After that the power on the printer.

    (2) turn off the wireless radio.
Go to Configuration > network > wireless radio, you must have the option to turn it off.

    (3) hard reset of the printer.
While the printer power cable for 30 seconds, while the cable is unplugged, press and hold the power button for 15 seconds. It's draining the printer of all power. Reconnect the cable.

    (4) turn on the wireless radio and reconnect.
Go to Configuration > network > wireless radio - on. Then, go to Configuration > network > wireless are running the configuration wizard.

If it was not successful in entering you connected to the network and or print wireless. You still have another option with the printer to try before replacing.
If you have an Ethernet cable, you can set a wired network connection. Plug the Ethernet (cat5 cable) cable into the printer and the router. It will be assigned the printer a new IP, which means that you will need to add the printer to the computer. This will still allow the printer on the network and communicate with a wireless device.

Please try all above and I would like to know how everything goes. Thanks for posting on the HP Forums.
