OK, following touchpad problem...

Model: Acer Aspire E1-731-4699

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate

OK...  In a previous discussion, I had help to resolve a question relating to a problem of touchpad on my laptop.  The driver disk that I burned embedded software with which Acer gave me contained the wrong driver for the touchpad that is installed on my machine.  Rather than be an Elantech, it seems to be an ALPS.  I guess I can't know for sure, since when I go to the hardware for the device ID, all I get is absolute:

ACPI\AUI2013

* AUI2013

.. .and I don't know about you, but I can't find any of this entry in the PCI database.  I saw Google ads, however, point to the two ALPS and Synaptics for this announcement.  "Description of the machine", however, reads "Alps pointing device", so I am confident that this is an ALPS.

My problem is with the software that I had to install the touchpad on the Acer site.  After I installed it, the first time I restarted the computer, I had four dialog boxes "do you want to run this program.  One for each of the following excess:

Apoint.exe

ApMsgFwd.exe

ApntEx.exe

HidFind.exe

All these files are located in the C:\Program Files\APoint2K folder, which is installed with the ALPS installation package, so I have no worries that they are something malicious.

The problem, however, is that whenever I turn on my computer, now, I get dialog boxes "do you want to run this program.  This is not a normal behavior for driver software.  If it needs to run some executables to start to run, I think this should all take place behind the scenes as all others.

Anyone has any ideas in this regard?  I don't want to have to click "Yes" four times, whenever I start.

Thank you.

Try this method for each file .exe, mind you the illustrated method for Intel drivers, but you might give it a shot for the file of the Alps.

  • Satellite P300-1 year - Touchpad problem with AC adapter / CC

I have a laptop Satellite P300-1 year and from the beginning (two weeks)
I have a touchpad problem: it will not immediately responsive and the pointer shakes when pressing the key. Very often, it freezes for only one or two seconds.

It's VERY annoying. A USB mouse works perfectly.
I tried to reinstall the drivers of the ALPS, tried Synaptics ones, just try Windows Vista drivers: no way.

Now, I found the reason: this question is present only when the laptop is powered by the AC adapter / CC.
With the battery, the touchpad is perfect.

I contacted Toshiba Service and thay said that they do not change the AC adapter if I don't mean before a full system restore!
Is it not more simple just try with a new adapter and then only, if the problem persists, try more drastic procedures?

    Anyone had this same problem?

The point is that your laptop should be always verified using the Toshiba factory setting.
Why? Because the ASP wants to make sure that this issue is not related to a software problem (compatibility problems with applications 3rd part). Software problems are not covered by the warranty.

In addition the ASP will always recover the laptop before the verification of the pieces of equipment to malfunction. Therefore, you should always back up your data from the HARD disk until you send the laptop to check.

I recommend you to reinstall the operating system using the Toshiba recover disc and then check if the problem appears.
If yes you can contact ASP and could provide all the necessary details for only one technician.

  • Tecra A8 - Touchpad problem

    Hello Forum,

I use a Tecra A8 model, 2 GB memory, XP SP2. Since a few weeks I have the following problem:

    (1) if I move my finger across the touchpad (fast or slow), the cursor remains on the position, if--if I'm not touching the touchpad.

After 1-2 seconds the cursor Duke, I've hit the touchpad and works normal (moves as I move my finger).

    (2) if I touch the touchpad with my finger only, not to move the cursor makes little jumps and movements, very, very slow (I think that 1 mm in 3 seconds) to the top, left corner of the screen.

    My Questions:
What kind of error is it?

Anyone of you advice or recommendations?

    Best regards

    Peter

To be honest, it is not some sort of error. I have older Tecra M1 and something like that happen to me. Even on new laptops can happen that the mouse pointer move slowly without reason. If you touch mouse even once, it will be stops and you can use the mouse again.

I don't know how you're using your laptop, but if you use it on the desktop, the best thing you can do is to use an external mouse and completely disable an internal. After doing that the mouse pointer must be stilly.

  • Pavilion 15-ak006nc (ENERGY *): keys to Action and touchpad problem

    Hello

I just bought new HP Pavilion Gaming Notebook - 15-ak006nc (ENERGY STAR) with W10 home x 64.

In the beginning, I have problem with action keys. They are as default, so when I press F5 to refresh something, it turns on just the keyboard lighting and for updating I have to press the FN + F5 key. Is it possible to pass it for action keys, I'll need to press the FN button and not for normal F-keys? (I used them a lot - F2 rename, alt + F4 to close etc..)

Second question is about the touchpad settings - after each restart/on the machine, I have to change the settings, or load saved profile with my custom settings. Y at - it an option to change the default settings?

    Thank you very much!

    Hello

Shut down the laptop.  Tap away at the esc you key start Notepad to open the Start Menu.  Select the Bios ( f10 ) option, and then change the figure in the document at the following link.

  • HP Envy 15: Touchpad problem

    The model # is 15 t-j100. Product: E9W31AV

Just in the last two days, I was unable to move upward or downwards from a Web page or a document by dragging two fingers upward or down on the touch pad. Everything else seems fine, the cursor follows finger mu, left and right mouse buttons ok. No changes made to the machine, no new software not added. I guess it could be a driver problem, if so where can I get the driver? And how do I install it?

    Thanks for any advice,

    David

    HI @David12228 ,

    Thank you for your inquiry.

I understand that, for these last two days, you have been unable to move upward or downwards from a Web page or a document by dragging two fingers upward or down on the touch pad. Everything else works on the Touchpad. You have not made any changes to your laptop or added new software.

Here is a link to the HP ENVY 15 t-j100 Select Edition CTO Notebook software and drivers page.

Did you run HP Support Assistant using the HP updates?

You did all your Windows updates?

Affluent, you ran the Windows troubleshooting tool?

Alternatively, you can try to uninstall and reinstall the driver.

Here is a link to use and configure the TouchPad (Windows 7 and Vista) that can also help.

If the issue remains, you can try a restore back before this happened.  HP and Compaq PC - Restore Windows to an earlier Point (Windows 7).

    Good luck!

  • (Redirected) 15 7547 Inspiron Touchpad problem

The Inspiron 15 7547 comes with a driver for the touchpad momentum 2010, which seems incompatible with Windows 8.1.  As delivered, this driver is enabled to run at startup (see the Task Manager).  In all there is no driver for the touchpad on the support site for that model.

The major impact: If switch you users back more than once, all the programs that were open on the desktop are closed when you return - which is not a standard Windows 8.1 behavior.  If a user then, a range of sign ons to come back on.  In the presence of an antivirus like AVG or Avast, the impact is really weird.  The short-term solution is to disable the driver in the Startup tab - change username and logout then follow the standard behavior of Windows 8.1.

The lesser impact is that, with or without that the driver is activated at startup, touchpad functions well enough as a Microsoft "precision touchpad", but do not receive you additional features that the touchpad is designed to have.

I spent a lot of time to find the source of the problem and am not very happy about it.  Dell is expected to provide a driver updated to momentum (some are available for other models, but they do not seem to work on 7547) or an explanation why it cannot.

I bought a x 2 split this last November and I had a problem of re-occurred since I got it. During use, the mouse will often freeze and my touchpad does not work. Can you please tell me how to fix this? I am a student engineer and I need my computer works fine for my work. Thank you

    Hello

I recently used a Split 13D x 2 that has the same problem and the next seems to correct the problem.

Open windows control panel and open the Device Manager.  Expand "Controllers of Bus USB" and you should find 2 entries for "Generic USB Hub".  Right-click on that 1 and select Properties, then select the tab power management and Remove the tick in the box "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".  Click Ok to save the setting.

Do the same for the 2nd "USB hub generic.

    Once completed, restart the laptop.

  • Satellite Z30 - A - 1 d 0: No. Wlan after fashion 'sleep' / touchpad problem

    Hello!

I bought this laptop in early September and I am super happy with it, but there are two little things that annoy me and I was not able to fix yet:

    (1) exit standby or sleep mode, it is re - connect never automatically for the wireless on it's, I have to do it manually every time. Windows wireless works well, so this isn't it, but what is?

    (2) sometimes the touchpad will stop working randomly and I have to use a mouse or restart to fix it. I reinstalled the drivers for the touchpad. Turning the touchpad/disable using function keys does not resolve the problem.

    Any help would be appreciated!

Yes, the Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160 pilot was published on the Intel page, and looks like this driver is more recent than the one provided in the Toshiba page.

  • Satellite L505-13W - FN keys were not and touchpad problem

    Hello everyone,

I have two questions and I'd highly appreciate your help.

First, when I got the laptop he used to have a Fn bar that comes down from the top of the screen when I press the Fn, it shows all the keys Fn, now it disappeared. I need to get it back, I almost tried everything and nothing is there yet.

Second, the touchpad is a zoom no more when I apply the 2 fingers in and out, he used to do that before.

    My laptop is Satellite L505-13W

    Thanks in advance

    Hi abdouni,.

    1. I think that the problem is related to Toshiba Value added Package, and Flash Cards Support utility. These two tools control FN keys and cards Flash appears if you press the FN key.
You can download it from the official website of Toshiba:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com > support & downloads > download drivers

Regarding the installation: first remove these two tools and reboot the laptop. Now, install the package of added value and stop and start again. Install the Flash Cards Support utility and do a restart. Now, the FN keys should work again.

    2. it could be related to value added package too to check my ad.
If it s does not work, reinstall the driver for the touchpad.

  • Satellite T110-107: touchpad problem - pointer move sometimes

    Good afternoon everyone,

Currently I have a series of Satellite T110-107 and have problems with the touchpad.

I start the computer and the touchpad works very well for a few seconds, after that, the touch pad stops working to full capacity.
If I wander my fingers on the touchpad and the pointer does not move, sometimes it will move up and down, but not as it should.

It is a common problem, or is it a hardware problem... or is it the fact that I'm just not accustomed to having the correct settings on windows7?

All help reveal be great, because it's very frustrating!

    Kind regards!

    Hello

I found a few tips and tricks that you should try.

First, you must change the sensitive touchpad settings to lower the level.
Go to control panel-> mouse and all the settings for the touchpad to the value has a less sensitive level.

You should also right click Synaptics Pointing Device (in the taskbar) and get in the middle of the page Double click speed on.
Move the slider to half way down the beach. This should help you too.

Last but not leas, you will need to disable zoom pinch.
Go to the icon in the lower right corner Synaptics pointing device, click on 'The pointing device properties', click on the "Device settings" tab, then the settings button. Uncheck "Enable Pinch Zoom" under "Pinch Zoom".

  • Qosmio X 70: after updating Windows 8.1 TouchPad problem

    Recently, I upgraded my Qosmio X 70 - a to 8.1 Windows since its origin 8.0

After following the instructions of update on the Toshiba support site, I managed to update the drivers and everything works now as it was before, with the exception of the TouchPad which seems to behave strangely.

In fact, moving a single finger on the pad now seems to be understood as if I was using the top and the arrow keys. No movement of the pointer as if with the help of a muse seems result measures, I'm trying.

I can't find an update for this particular device.
Of course, when you use a mouse, everything is normal, but as you know, a mouse is not always practical.

    Any suggestion?

The point is that the touchpad of Qosmio X 70 - series supports some additional features.
One of the features is the function of the gesture. I recommend you to disable.

  • Touchpad problem - Satellite A50-111

Hello. Last week, I bought my laptop and here I am with a problem of inportant.

The touchpad does not work correctly. When I take the finger above the cursor jumps up and down even when the finger is motionless. (It's like the mouse cursor oscillates on its expected position). It is very difficult to click on anything whatsoever. I use an external USB mouse that works very well.

I don't think that it is a driver/software problem. I use a linux live CD (Knoppix 3.7) distribution to check if the problem persists under linux. He does.

Is there someone else with the same problem here? Don't you think that, given the information above, it is a hardware problem or would it be the drivers?

    Hello

In my view, it cannot be driver issue, as all drivers are put to the test. It is very difficult to say what is a problem.
