Omni 27 SMBios boot - off blueray KB

Omni 27 1054, Windows 7 Professional.

I recently moved my hub USB powered a 2.0 to a PC 3.0 port PC port (port Manhattan 28 (24x2.0 and 4x3.0)). What happened then is that my blueray KB was not while initializing SMBIOS. I had to remove the USB 3.0 port hub or plug in a USB KB to use or connect the USB hub to the USB 2.0 port to obtain the SMBIOS password typed in. Someone has seen this? It seems to be a conflict neglected in the SMBIOS (FRIEND 7.12, 29/03/2012) program.

Wow, thanks for waking me up. First of all he should have read bluetooth not blueray. Your USB reviews prompted me to go get specifications for my PC again. I finally found them at http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c03131099 for the KB and mouse are USB remote and no bluetooth and for l all ecept why who care 1 USB 3.0 disables the connection to the KB and mouse. In any case thanks for the wake-up call.

With Legacy BOOT SUPPORT works, my computer so slow startup and there are too many startup steps taken in place.

    Thank you!

    SUMMARIZE:

1: install Windows own 8 UEFI

    2: SECURE BOOT: WE

3: THE LEGACY SUPPORTED STARTING: OFF

    Dear KNRK!

I'm so happy. Everything seems to be in trouble, so I have to use the legacy on support. I installed the windows 8 install any update, and then upgrade to windows 8.1. The first initialization of the windows 8.1 installation, I go into the BIOS, then choose restore default.

Like a charm, everything's fine. Now he worked on Legacy support OFF and Secure Boot on.

BTW, I'm sharing my EXPERIENCE on installing windows 8 with UEFI.

    1. create UEFI USB BOOTABLE WITH RUFUS

    2. IF can detect the drive HARD or SSD IN WINDOWS SETUP is FINE

    If 2 is not available

    Go to 3

    3. TURN ON LEGACY SUPPORT

3A - CREATE UEFI-BOOTABLE USB WITH RUFUS USNG MBR SYSTEM FOR BIOS

    4-USE TROUBLESHOOT - COMMAND PROMT

    5. CLEAN THE OS INSTALLED HDD

    6 - CONVERT TO GPT

    7-ACTIVE

    8 - RESTART

    9-HDD DETECTED

    10 INSTALL

    IF ENCOUNTER 03200024 ERROR 0 x

SOLUTION - REMOVE ALL HARD DRIVE - JUST LEAVE THE OS INSTALLED HARD DRIVE

AFTER FINISH INSTALLATION - REINSERT THE OTHER HARD DRIVE.

    TO OBTAIN AGAIN A MISTAKE.

SOLUTION - CLEAN HDD VIA USB BOTABLE WITH MBR SCHEME FOR UEFI

CONVERT HDD OS INSTALLED TPG, ACTIVE

THEN AGAIN CREATE USB BOOTABLE WITH TPG TO UEFI SYSTEM

EVERYTHING'S OK. BUT LEGACY SUPPORT MUST BE ON.

INSTALL ALL OF THE UPDATE, INSTEAD OF UPGRADING TO WINDOWS 8.1

IN THE FIRST REBOOT, GO TO BIOS THEN RESTORE THE DEFAULT SETTINGS.

    EVERYTHING'S FINE.

Hi, first sorry for my bad English , I have a big problem...

4 days ago, that I decided to install a new os on my pc (pavilion g6 2307el).

I installed win 7 64 bit, and to do this, I enabled the legacy boot.

now, I have some problems with some drivers and for this reason I want to change my os originally win 8 64-bit.

I have the original cd of victory CV 8 (when I installed win 7 has deleted everything on my pc; recovery partition ecc..) but it does not work... Infact when the legacy box is turned on and I press the f9 key I see 2 option. boot to the efi file or boot from the hard drive (I can't see cd boot or boot usb or other) and when I put inherited boot off the system tell me that it isn't any os on my pc, and in this case when I Press f9 I don't see anything...

Please, I want to return my windows 8...

    can someone help me?

    Hi @pavilion9512

Thank you for your request! No worries for tyour not English, also long as understand us each other, that we are very well.

I understand that a few days ago, you wanted to downgrade to Windows 7, but after doing if some drivers were not available.

Now, you want to perform a recovery from the disk that you created but are unable to get the option to boot to the optical drive.

  • Problem with light Omni 10

Hello, first of all, I wanted to apologize for my English, I write good English, sorry.

I have a tablet of 10 Omni, when I turn off the Tablet by clicking on the option 'Disable' in Windows 8, sometimes light near the camera is turned on but turned off! The only way to turn off the light is by clicking on the button for 10 seconds.

Please could you give me a solution for this problem?

    Thank you very much.

    Hello, Peter.

It is normal that the light flashes briefly during closing; If it stays on, some software prevents your tablet of turning-off completely. The option of "10 seconds" you describe forces all active processes to quit then turns your tablet.

You have not indicated how long you had your Omni & if you have installed all apps transferred from another computer... If you have not yet spent a lot of time to install additional software, one of the "Recovery" options will likely restore normal operation quickly (start with "Refresh"). If you first want to try additional troubleshooting, it will be useful to know if this problem still occurs when you try a menu stop immediately after your Tablet road and logon. If you are familiar with the Task Manager, you may identify 'suspects' in the list of applications that are active only - before turning your Omni-off and use the Task Manager to end one-at-a-time to find the one that interferes with the normal shutdown. If you identify software that you installed as a guilty, then you will need to uninstall it and find a newer version or another application to accomplish the same task. If troubleshooting doesn't quickly lead to identify what is causing the problem, then you can always use one of recovery options. There are several updates for system software and applications that came pre-installed on your Omni; After that your Tablet does not function normally, don't forget to re - apply all eligible updates from Microsoft and HP, to get the best performance from your Omni. If you want more tips for all the steps here, answer this discussion. In a case report, please come back with the steps that worked for you, so that other forum visitors can learn from your experience... (Your English skills are very well!)

I don't know what else to try.

I could really use some help now.

    Thank you

Your external DVD drive is operatying as it should.

The best place to find an answer on how to make the live CD is the Debian forum. Disk made you apparentlydoes is not not a MBR boot sector or a recognized EFI partition. Either of the people is what is necessary for the drive to be bootable and your notebook BIOS must be configured in accordance with the choice of the type of format.

Personally I've always preferred to use a utility likeUNetbootln to make several versions of Linux "live" bootable.

I don't bother with the hassle of the DVD or CD media more.

If you have a spare drive 32 or 64 GB USB flash drive, so you can put an incredible number of versions of Linux and troubleshooting utilities on it.

The economy of scale with usb flashdrive has gotten to the point where a 16 GB usb key is less expensive than recordable DVD media. Check outthe Newegg price.

  • Mystery of boot: failing mobo?

I wonder if my motherboard of Presario SR1913WM is a failure, because it is able to start continues to deteriorate.

A few months ago, I mentioned here to start turning off Windows, I started to require Ctrl-Alt-Del (leave a message "DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND press ENTER") into Windows.

Now, I never see this message, but the situation is worse.  If I have a hard drive connected to a port on my PCI eSATA cards (I have two cards, and I tried to remove the two, uninstallation of their pilots, and each using a single in all locations), restart Windows sometimes crashes on a blank screen and sometimes makes in Windows.  Power OFF I always need to use the following 'trick' to enter in Windows:

the Start Menu (or F1 in the settings) until the (there are only a few times usually) my system disk is not listed; then I ctrl-alt-del in the Boot Menu (or settings) and press again to reach the Start Menu, then select my system disk.  This isn't always work (sometimes it hangs on a white screen), and when it works it takes about 4 minutes (during which the screen is empty) than before to take.

[Until I rolled back to a previous version of driver, that I haven't used in years for my PCI eSATA cards, this 'trick' was necessary not only power off but when Windows restarts.  And I received an error message what googling suggests came from the BIOS: "WARNING: have the option ROM cannot be invoke (Vendor ID 1095 h, 3132 device ID:)".)] "

Without the above 'trick', boots off still fails on a white screen when these PCI cards have eSATA drives connected.  ("In other words: I can then just go into Windows when I select the system disk in the Start Menu the next time I visit the start after the system disk Menu fails to appear in the Boot Menu or HDD group Boot Priority settings".)

I have changed the cables and changed the CMOS battery twice.  CHKDSK is clean, as well as the diagnosis of the RAM (Memtest 86 + and Windows Memory Diagnostic), hard drives, CPU and PSU.  BIOS firmware is the most common 3.11.  Windows XP Pro sp3.

As I also reported here, whenever I add/remove a HDD PCI eSATA cards (both have installed f/w course), shuffles 'HDD group Boot Priority' BIOS.

    Profile for SR1913WM.

I'm good for tests and diagnostics running, but this evidence is beyond my ability to interpret.  If my motherboard is a failure, it's time to wash my hands of this machine and find a way to replace it with my very small budget.  Ditto if I come again use these eSATA PCI cards.

    Hello coyote2

This is in response to your other post.

I read through your messages once more to see if either Dave_G, either I missed anything at all, the extent of troubleshooting this weird problem going. The question seems very special and the only thing I can think that the cause is the motherboard/BIOS card.

  • Boot1: stuck at the boot from usb

I have a Pavilion p7 - 1520 without changes yet and 8 t (64) of Windows, and when I try to boot from a usb device, I get the standard boot0:loading

    boot1: fact

Then it just sits there, frozen. The problem is not the usb device, because it works on my other four machines. I think it's maybe a problem with the BIOS, because I tried to boot F9 and I tried esc. Same result. Anyone got any help?

    I found the problem.

So he can start my usb device, I had to:

    1. unplug my hard drive to the card

    2. boot into the BIOS and reset all default BIOS

    3. turn the computer off and then plug in the hard drive

    4. boot into the BIOS and turn off Secure Boot and Legacy Boot off

5 then he started in all of the media that had a bootable interface.

Hope this helps anyone with the same issue.

  • Iconia W700P - need to access bluetooth keyboard during the boot UEFI or need to boot from a USB

Solved a problem, now face two other:

The W700P will now boot from a DVD recovery Acronis TI, but to select the restore function (then the specific restore backup), it requires an entry for a keyboard. The Bluetooth keyboard supplied with the W700P does not work during the boot sequence. I prefer not to go out and buy a USB keyboard, but it is perhaps the only option.

    Or-

The W700P boot from a USB key can stick? I read that this is impossible, but in looking at the Acer store, that's all they offer as recovery media for the W700P. I made a bootable USB key, when I bought the computer first, but I can't seem to start. All I get is repeated boot Acer screens, maybe he's trying different options in the boot order. I tried to change the order, put a password for boot and secure boot off, but I still have the same question.

    Any ideas?

Solved once and for the moment! I now have a USB hub, USB, USB and DVD USB mouse keyboard (powered externally). Throw all these things on the machine, I was able to boot into the Acronis Recovery DVD, go to the menu and reinstall a previous backup of Windows 8.1.

  • W510 is why Secure Boot

Microsoft has created a new agreement called "Secure Boot" which is designed to prevent malware from installing rootkits allowing to boot from devices that have the appropriate certificates. That said, Microsoft specifications require that the user may disable the function if not an upgrade or dual-boot would be impossible.

This seems to be preventing me from booting off a CD, even if it is enabled in the BIOS.

When I go into the configuration of the BIOS on the W510, I see that Secure Boot is enabled, but there is no way I can see to turn it off. What Miss me it please? Dual-boot capability is essential for a safety Cabinet that I'm working on.

Since the MSDN site "for enthusiasts who want to turn older operating systems, the option is there to allow you to make a decision." My question is "how?"

If the w510 is unable to support disabling Secure Boot, then we have a serious problem.

(for some reason I can't add a link - quote MSDN Web site is at http://blogs.msdn.com/b/b8/archive/2011/09/22/protecting-the-pre-os-environment-with-uefi.aspx )

    Hi Padgett,

Set the BIOS supervisor password, you will be able to disable Secure Boot.

    Hello!

I have a Compaq Presario CQ57-400SO I want to install Windows XP instead of Windows 7, which is included. I had two questions now since I hit a few bumps.

1 at - not, at all, driver support for Windows XP to get their hands on?

    2. How am I suppose to boot from USB (my DVD-ROM is broken)?

+ Have converted my installation of Windows XP on USB disk.

-J' have tried to change the boot order, and no, the USB is not marked with! so it should work.

-J' tried by pressing F9, that gets me the Boot Option menu. But once I press the USB it goes right to the Windows (the pre-installed).

    Thank you in advance.

    Hi @kvartsnorsk

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support!

I know that you are looking for drivers for Windows XP, unfortunately, this laptop was not sold configured for this OS. Drivers are available for windows 7 and 8 (32 and 64 bit)

What happens if I do not see my operating system?

On the boot USB device, it is likely that your bootable usb image isn't UEFI, so you should enable legacy boot in the BIOS to allow boot off this device.

    UEFI and the Start Menu

The Legacy Boot mode - NeoSmart Knowledgebase

  • Cannot boot from CD - DVD in LEGACY mode - NO Secure Boot UEFI NOT

You just bought an Optiplex 7010 minitower with Win 8 Pro 64 - bit, 8 GB of RAM, 500 GB HDD and an Intel i5 processor 3470.  Now he has BIOS version A16.

It is normally ON UEFI and Secure Boot on IT and F12 at startup does NOT normally display the CD-DVD as a boot option.  OK - no problem.

However, if I reboot with F12 and select UEFI OFF (meaning WE legacy) and Secure Boot SHUTDOWN and reboot, then F12 DON'T show me the CD - DVD as a startup option, but if I actually try to boot from a bootable CD, I get an error message.

I practiced with two CD bootable - a Knoppix I did on a XP machine an Aomei Backupper I did on a Win 7 machine.  These CD working as in my old XP machine boot CD, and the CD of Backupper of Aomei worked someone else machine Win 7 Pro 64 bit.

    What's wrong?

Again, please let me repeat that I am trying to boot from the CD-DVD AFTER I have turned OFF UEFI, turned on the legacy and off Secure Boot.

    Thank you.

Speed - although you predicted, I am amazed at what I did today.

I bought a second hard drive (in white) and installed Win 7 Pro 64 - bit SP1 on it.  (I unplugged the first hard drive which has my Win 8 Pro 64-bit.  (Later to figure out how to dual-boot - no not yet for that.)

What struck me is that I have installed SP1 for Win 7 Pro 64-bit while my BIOS is UEFI - it's ON UEFI and Secure Boot off.  (Enable Legacy ROM is enabled.)  BIOS is the Windows Boot Manager.  The Win 7 Pro 64 - bit SP1 DVD ran perfectly on my CD - DVD unit - no problems of any kind.  The machine has restarted several times, as I adjusted it settings and added the resource of Dell Media CD drivers.

Disk Management displays only two partitions - a little with the legend "Healthy (EFI System Partition)" and then my C:\ drive, which is indicated be NTFS and 'in good condition (boot, Page File, crash dump, primary Partition).  The properties for the entire drive 0 said "Partition Style: GUID Partition Table (GPT).

Now - is it good or bad?  If one day I try to dual-boot, what is incompatible with the four partitions on my hard drive to win 8 (now offline)?  Install this fake Win 7?

I'm even more amazed than the Win 7 Pro 64 - bit auto installed SP1 with a product key that is different from the product key for my Win 8 Pro 64-bit.  The Dell OEM Windows 7 installation disc done by himself - I don't have to enter anything.  Which is good news for a future dual-boot, Yes?

I have NOT yet connected to the internet.

Now, when I unplugged my hard drive of origin WIn 8, I disconnected the Sata data cable and used for the new hard drive Win 7 added.  If the new hard drive is connected to data SATA motherboard even as the drive of origin 8 Win.  Well, at some point when I use two hard drives, one of them should be connected to another plug SATA on the MB - but not yet.

Well... How do I fortunately to this stage so far?
