Oracle 12 c on RHEL 7.2

I want to install Oracle 12 c on Red hat Linux 7.2. Is Oracle 12 c certified and supported on RHEL 7.2?

Help, please.

Thank you

Aerts

Oracle Linux or RHEL version updates, such as 7.1, 7.2, 7.3, etc., are all based on the same major version of OS. An update does not break backward compatibility with the same version and introduced fixed bugs, security patches, and may introduce additional features. It is possible that a product requires a minimum version and the version of publication of update, however, if a product is certified for Oracle Linux or RHEL 7.0, there is also picked up and certified on updates later release. Of course, this does not apply to upgrades of major version, such as 6.x or 7.x, for which there is no upgrade path taken in charge anyway.

    Have you tried the below

    $ mkdir $HOME/tmp
    $ TMPDIR = $HOME/tmp
    $ export TMPDIR

Start the installation after you set the tmp directory to point to a different location.

You have mount with ACL on points, as Oracle does not like the ACL. If so, I you suggest to raise the temperature with "noacl" and then try to perform the installation.

or on any version of RHEL 5.

    Thank you

Both Oracle 10 g 2 and 11g RAC are supported for RedHat Enterprise 5 on versions 32 and 64 bit. It's really some information that should be available outside metalink (for people like you who are not yet customers).

    Hope this has helped

  • Laptop supporting Oracle 10 g on RHEL 4 Update 2

    Hello

I am struggling to find a laptop supporting Oracle 10 g on RHEL4 update 2. If the HCL Redhat shows some laptops... those are all outdated.
Now I find phones supporting the workstation RHEL 5 version. Is Oracle 10 g, taken in charge by this version of office? Kindly help me to find a laptop for personal use.

I'll even though it is Dual boot with Windows Vista / XP but who also want to if ensure that he takes in charge the OS as well. Please help me find such a laptop computer!

[PS: the search for an alternative other than VMWARE Windows]

I have a Dell Latitude D830 running Oracle Enterprise Linux 4.5 and 5.2 very well. OEL is equivalent to Red Hat Advanced Server in the same version number, so I don't expect a problem.

Since I also run several different fedoras, OpenSuSEs and Ubuntu on this machine, I suspect that the D830 also workstation Red Hat.

  • Install Oracle 11g R2 on RHEL 6

    Hello

I'm trying to install Oracle 11 g R2 on RHEL6 using VM Ware workstation. I went through all the controls preinstallion and now want to create directories to hold the oracle software.

My UNIX box has only one primary partition which is the root partition (/).

Now the Oracle documentation on installing LInux say the following commands must be executed.

    # Pei mkdir /mount_point/app/

    # chown r oracle: oinstall /mount_point/app/

    # chmod 775 r /mount_point/app/

    For example:

    # mkdir -p /u01/app/
    # chown -R oracle:oinstall /u01/app/
    # chmod -R 775 /u01/app/

I want to know is the following, which one should I get about this

    (a) create a new partition, make a new file system and then mount it on the directory/U01

    or

    (b) create a/U01 directory in the root (/) directory using mkdir and just go ahead with the installation without any additional partition or file system.

    Thank you.

    Hello

as you use this machine in a virtual machine, you can simply create the folder with mkdir. The need for the mounting points on the various devices becomes relevant for productive environments due to performance reasons.

  • Oracle Linux (Red Hat) on 14 t Envy Touchsmart

I am looking for a compact machine to install Oracle Linux (based on RHEL)

    for purposes of development.

The 14 t Envy Touchsmart ticked all my boxes (with the exception of the touchscreen) and I'm

a point where I am seriously considering this machine. I checked the recommended

material on Red Hat ( https://hardware.redhat.com ) that lists several HP machines,

who did not understand the desire, but I was wondering if there is a significant difference

prohibiting the RHEL running on the machine of envy from the officially

    support of the HP machines.

I understand that RHEL is through a thorough process and some materials may

do not be taken in charge yet, but I'm ready to compile and install all the required drivers and

swap the minor components of the material if necessary.

Essentially, what are the problems that I'm likely to expect in terms of compatibility of equipment?

    A.

    Well, never mind.

I'll just take the EliteBook 840.

    All other as appropriate.

I went through the documentation, it gives options, however, does not tell best practices.

Thanks in advance everybody and apologize if there is already a post about this and I repeat it.

Newer versions of oracle have implemented a great new technology to help solve problems, called "error messages."  Unfortunately, I can't find any reference to an error message named 'is no longer able to connect.

And why you are moving your site from inventory?  When you have installed oracle, he put the inventory where he wanted.  There is no reason to try to change or replace.

  • How to check for optional Oracle 10 g 2 installed components?

    Hello

How can I get a list of oracle all optional components/functions installed database (some of them may require additional license)? I was going through a list of the directory objects in a database and I spotted "ORACLE_OCM_CONFIG_DIR" in one of the databases (others don't have it). When I checked, it turned out to be a directory required for Oracle Configuration Manager (it's maybe even a completely separate installation).

I have to configure a new oracle database server where I have to install everything that is installed on an existing one.

    Oracle 10 g 2 - RHEL 5.8

    Please advise!

    Best regards

    Hello

    http://docs.Oracle.com/CD/E11882_01/server.112/e24448/statviews_4208.htm

DBA_REGISTRY displays information about all of the components in the database that are loaded in the registry of the component.

If this view lists the components loaded into the database... Well according to the docs of Oracle anyway.

How to check to see if the CMO is installed must:

    http://docs.Oracle.com/CD/E12482_01/doc.103/e12481/ccrqs.htm

Navigate to the ccr/bin directory and locate the emCCR file. If emCCR exists, the CMO has been configured.

Don't think that you can get this information from a view.

PL indicate where you have downloaded 11.2.0.3 from - it is only available on My Oracle Support (https://support.oracle.com), whose access requires a paid from Oracle support contract.

If you have downloaded on http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/database/enterprise-edition/downloads/index.html, you have downloaded 11.2.0.1 which is not certified with Linux 6.x as shown above
