  First of all have you tried to change the projection mode? You can switch the projection mode by using the windows key + P or by clicking on the 'Notification' - icon in your system tray. Set to "Duplicate" or "extended".

  Start the application of "Lenovo Companion' on your ThinkPad X carbon 1 and make sure you have all the latest drivers and BIOS.

  If this does not work, try using another HDMI cable, in rare cases, that this can work. Also, try if possible, another monitor.

  If none of these suggestions work, think about contacting technical support.

  I have this mouse Steelseries Sensei, who works on all other computers I've tried, but on this laptop, it doesn't.
  Plug into the port 3.0 does not work and plug it into the port 2.0 makes this kind of work but skips working for seconds and after 20 seconds, it stops working at all. This is a new laptop with windows 8.1.
  The mouse is supposed to be plug-and-play like all software runs on the mouse itself.

  I created a virtaul Windows 7 in VirtualBox for over a year on my MacBook under Snow Leopard. It took time but I finally got the sound works by installing the realtek ac 97 sound card drivers manually.

  As I found it rather slow VirtualBox on my system, I decided to try VMware. Then I exported the Windows 7 and then imported using ovftool machine.

  But now I am running Windows 7 in VMWare Fusion, the sound card drivers appear under other devices, and I get no sound. I tried to manually install the drivers AC 97, but it does not work. I activated the sound via the parameters of Fusion so that is not the issue. I have the latest installed bootcamp drivers.

  I also have a device system base on other devices, but I think that, from what I've read online, this could be the bluetooth device does not or maybe the isight camera. There is not so critical.

  So far, I have to say that VMWare is much faster than VirtualBox, so I think it's very like this I will buy VMWare Fusion, which I can get the map his problem solved.

  To be honest I waiting more problems once I had found a way to import the machine overall.   On a default installation of Windows 7 in VMware Fusion and without VMware Tools installed, there are two objects in the section "other devices."  The 'Base system device' is supported with the installation of the VMware Tools and Sound is supported by Windows Update and is shown in the image below, after the update the driver through Windows Update.  As you will see the VMware Tools in not yet installed so "Base system device" shows again in the section "other devices."

  I've recently upgraded to Flash 11.6.602.171. I am running Windows 7 x 64 and IE 10 (32-bit edition). Installation said successefully Flash installed, but embedded Flash content does not appear on the web pages. All I see is a blank section where should appear the flash content. I also noticed that aero live preview on my taskbar now shows white screens with icons instead of a real overview of the windows.   I posted my find there. The bottom line is by uninstalling Windows update kb2670838, all my problems disappeared. Feel like lately I spend hours and hours the weekend to try to resolve the problems as Microsoft Updates create the Wednesday and Thursday of the previous week. Thank you Microsoft!

  Hello

  I'm trying to connect to an external monitor, however it is not working properly. The monitor works fine with another laptop so I know that the monitor is ok.

  When I first start the lptop I get the screen then I XP Flash on the external monitor perfectly clearly, however when it will boot Windows XP the external monitor goes haywire.

  Advice/suggestions would be appreciated.

  Either way, I just updgraded all display drivers and BIOS but with no solution to the problem.

  my suggestion is to reduce the resolution for the external montor. Maybe you have the problem that the resolution and frequency h/v is not defined as it should be.

  When starting your laptop, then let the disconnected monitor. When the machine is running, then connect the monitor to the machine (it s OK, it s not dangerous or something) and then go into the control panel for the graphics card. There you can set the options for internal and external monitor.

  Set the minimum resolution for the outside and try to activate him. It should work normally...

• HP pavillion a6077p w/Vista has a lightscribe dvd drive is not working.

  LightScribe DVD turns on, then turns... nothing! Tried to replace the disks with a different computer. The Lightscribe disc works fine in another computer.  The other is (Memorex) still did not work in the HP computer. also tried a new tablecloth and even swapped the motherboard with the same model.  Still plays the same thing.  Currently, I have reinstalled the lightscribe and added the memorex as slave.  Neither work.  Everything else on the PC works great!
