I have an ASA device that is configured for remote vpn and use a Radius Server to authenticate the credentials of the vpn users.  If I want to change the password on the VPN client under authentication group, where and how should I do?  Also, do I need to change this password on the Radius Server?

    See attached screenshot.

    Hello

If you only configured on the RADIUS user authentication, then password under tunnel group is what you are looking for. This password, that you configure under Authentication Server IPSec Client Group is password that is configured as a tunnel group.

  • Remote VPN - change user password

    Hello

I have configured the remote access VPN on ASA (7.2) with local user database and the user connects via the Cisco VPN Client.

Can the user change their password VPN themselves or not he to was made by the administrator directly on the SAA.

    Thank you.

Correct, local database username cannot reset remote.

AFAIK, you can't age a local user name.

  • RAS VPN GROUP FORGOTTEN PASSWORD

    Hi guys.

I want to recovery group passwrd for RAS VPN... I tried many things but couldn't restore it...

    I need your help please

    Concerning

    Tash

    Hello Tash

    Two ways to achieve this:

    1. If you have access to CLI (SSH / Telnet) to the ASA, you can use the command 'net write' to clear the config to offshore to an external TFTP server. This should have all the passwords VPN in clear text (unlike what happens if you do a "show run").

    2. If this is a Cisco IPSEC VPN client (by using the Cisco client), you can recover the password if you have a copy of the. Profile of FCP installed on remote client computers. While the group password is encrypted in this file it can be decrypted by various tools available on the Internet.

  • Massive VPN password change required

    Hello

you are looking for a solution change password VPN group which has been compromised. We run ASA, users connect to the local corporate network through IPsec VPN. The VPN client profile and default value is distributed to users in the form of .exe file. Now, the Group VPN password must be changed. What are my options here? We conduct AD, against AD when they connect via VPN, users are authenticated. One option is to distribute the new VPN password for all users so that they can enter manually, but this could be very tedious and prone to errors and a considerable number of calls to the help desk.

Did someone knows this task and solution would like to share?

    Any suggestion is appreciated.

    Kind regards

The use of a PSK group allows users to copy the FCP from a machine to work on a machine at home and without knowing the PSK access - yes they need user authentication, but it is a question of dlp.

I would remove this problem once and for all by migrating to certificate-based IKE phase 1

To your point of origin. There is no easy way to make this change:

Set up a new group with the revised PSK and issue new FCP with the new details files

Monitor the use of the old group and delete as appropriate.

  • WRT1900AC cannot configure VPN

I CURRENTLY HAVE 2 WIRELESS ROUTERS AN ASUS RT-N56U WHICH WAS EASY to set UP WITH ExpressVPN. COMING TO EXPAND MY NETWORK & IMPROVE USING A LINKSIS WRT1900AC. UNABLE TO SET TO THE TOP OF THE SAME. BOTH ROUTERS ARE HARD CABLES TO THE ISP ROUTER & WILL BE POSITIONED AT DIFFERENT AREAS OF THE HOUSE FOR COVER. I HAVE THE ExpressVPN PAST & DETAILS USER password, LIST OF GLOBAL SERVER ADDRESSES & THEIR ADDRESSES IP CONCERNED.

CAN SOMEONE HELP ME IN THE BASIC CONFIGURATION. I AM NOT AN IT WIZZ BUT YOU CAN FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS ESPECIALLY WITH SCREENSHOTS SUPPORTED. HELP IS GREATLY APPRECIATED.

    OK gents,

Answers very well. It gives me a lot to think so thank you very much.

Temporarily, I currently have 2 routers connected switch wired to asus to linksys with the linksys being connected on the local network of the asus through the cable network. The asus is configured as L2TP that allows the details of user, password & VPN server. Use them in this way gives me the IP addresses associated with the address of the server used. This IP address is provided if connected to a router. Probably not the fastest or the best way but will suffice until I have work on your tech talk.  I have an ASUS RT - 68U (which has the VPN Client) available to replace the Asus RT - 56U to come. I can use the 56U on the edge of the property similar to the linksys. Trial & error prototyping will I hope make me it in the absence of knowledge or understanding.

Can someone advise on potential pitfalls with the current configuration or plans for the future?

    Thanks again.

  • Password blocked

I tried to create a password for my administrator account, but windows keeps me blocking do.  There is no password on the account so I don't understand what the problem is.  Only thing I can think is that since it's a purchase "off-the-shelf" from best buy may have not remove their settings completely.  Help, please!

    Hello dbpotter808,

Thanks for posting on the Microsoft answers Forum.

If you can't always change your password. Review the following.

In local users and groups, click users, and then on the right, double-click the account that you are using.

Make sure there is no checkmark in "user cannot change password". If there is, remove it and then click OK,
then close the windows local users and groups. You should now be able to change your password.

    I hope this helps.

If this isn't the case, then please post again and we will be happy to help.

  • Cannot access ' inside' LAN of AnyConnect VPN

Hello. I am having trouble with my VPN connection where I can connect to it very well, and access the internet, but I can't access the internal network. Anyone have any ideas on what I can check to solve that?

I think that the suggestion concerning the exemption of NAT is very good. If that is not the issue, then I have some other suggestions.

-with the session created VPN review information the AnyConnect and look in the route Details tab and be sure that these LAN addresses appear as secure routes.

-check that the devices in the local network that you can not reach a route to addresses in the pool of the VPN.

  • ACS password policy

My company wishes to replace the existing LDAP servers with Cisco ACS.  A requirement of our VPN security policy is that the user must change his password VPN account before their first newspaper in.  If the user tries to connect to the VPN without changing their password, then they are denied access.

Is there a rule in ACS which can achieve this?

    Hello Michael,

Yes, there is a way to change the password, you will need to set the 'password-management' under the Group of the tunnel you have created for this connection with the AAA server that will authenticate users, please consider the following information:

    GBA can be configured to check users in an AD database. Change and at the end of the password is supported when Microsoft Challenge Handshake Authentication Protocol version 2 (MSCHAPv2) is used;

On a SAA, you can use the password management feature, as described in the next section, in order to force the ASA to use MSCHAPv2. ACS uses the appeal of Common Internet File System (CIFS) Distributed Computing environment/Remote Procedure Call (DCE/RPC) when it comes into contact with the directory of the domain controller (DC) in order to change the password.

ASA may use both the RADIUS and protocols GANYMEDE + to get in touch with ACS for a password AD change, the command:

ASA (config) # tunnel - group general attributes

    ASA(config-tunnel-General) # password - management

For more information about PAP and MSCHAP with RADIUS, you can find it here:

    http://www.Cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/network-management/remote-ACCE...

Please proceed to the note this post and the previous one and mark it as correct, keep me posted if anything happens!

    Kind regards

  • Solved: RV042 <>is QuickVPN

Summary: If the user account on the RV042 VPN, contains special characters (other than letters or numbers) you may not be able to connect to the RV042.  The marker for this behavior will be when your password is displayed in plain text in C:\Program Files\Linksys\Linksys VPN Client\wget_error.  It seems that the password field is poorly analyzed when the command line for 'wget' is created by QuickVPN.  Three special characters I've initially included in my password of the VPN user account have been, #-the pound symbol! -Exclamation point /-oblique.  Simply remove the special characters from the password VPN user account enabled me to connect.

I hope this information is useful to someone reading the forums.  QuickVPN has so many points of failure, I am tempted to declare "not reliable."  8 ^)

The players in the circus of connection attempts are:

    Client side:
MSI Wind Netbook with XP Home and customer QuickVPN 1.2.11
Cricket in wide band with Cal - Comp A600 USB Modem

    Server-side:
    RV042 with Firmware 1.3.12.6 - tm (May 28, 2008 17.52:01)
    dyndns.org account

    Dave.

Summary: Setting the MTU size to 1300 of WAN #1 (Cox broadband) and WAN #2 (Qwest DSL) allowed me to connect consistently to the RV042.

So, I no sooner opened an adult beverage to celebrate my RV042<==>QuickVPN connection above when my next attempt was a complete failure.  I received the error "Check network" dreaded.  The wget_request_error file showed "501 not implemented" at the request of CheckIsakmp.htm.  Shit.

If I have more problems with the RV042 and QuickVPN I buy a professional solution to my VPN needs.  My tolerance for this madness is done.

    Dave.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones how lock the phone?

I can't find a way to block my phone. What I want is so that it can be locked once I turned off and need to type a password to review its content. Essentially a measure of security. I tried all the tricks of password but can not understand and is not really doing what I want it to. Thank you!

    J

Hi and welcome to the forums. I'm not sure that I fully understand what you are looking for in what concerns your BB to lock. If you tried to set a password, and it was not what you liked? You can quickly lock your device in now the * key. If you have a password enabled, you can type on it to unlock everything. If you have a case with a magnet nearby, you can set your device to lock onto Holster. A password is needed to unlock after waking from sleep. Your device is paused when the case or when you press mute. I hope that helped. I would like to know if I was far away or if you have any other questions.

  • OIM 11 g Sending Notification on the creation of the user of the IOM

    Hi gurus!

I have the following requirement: whenever a user is created in the IOM (via the Administration Console, request or through trust reconciliation) an email notification should be sent to the Manager of the user, informing him that his collaborator has a connection to (automatically generated) given user and a password (also automatically generated) and that must be changed the first time newspapers user recently created by IOM.

I have seen that we have in IOM definitions of email (in Console design) and the Notification Templates (in the Administration Console).

I tried to use the definitions of Email but I'm not able to select the usr_password field in the variables section so I couldn't use this solution which seems to be very easy to use because you can directly use the definition of enamel on the Notification tab in the tasks of process.

Subsequently, I analyzed the Templates of Notification solution. I defined the XML of the Type of event and in the Notification template (in the Administration Console), I was able to choose usr_password as a variable of the notification. However, when I tried to develop Java code (class that implements NotificationEventResolver), although I was able to extract most of the IOM user profile fields, I could not extract the domain usr_password... It seems that the usr_password domain (which is encrypted) cannot be obtained from the UserManager service.

How can I get the user password and inject into the email notification?

    Thank you very much!

Check this: Re: decrypt the Xellerate user password and review the code posted here by me. Since you're using the resolver of notification, you can use the PasswordManager to get the password for the user in your code.
