    • Go to the Device Manager.
    • Expand network adapters.
    • Right-click on all NICs individually.
    • Click on uninstall.
    • Restart the laptop twice.

Here are other troubleshooting steps that may help too. If the USB device does not appear in Device Manager, then it might be a question of power requirement. Unplug the machine and perform the following steps until the device is detected:

    • Reboot the laptop
    • Plug in and wait five seconds.

    • If the device does not appear, try connecting to another USB port.

    • If the USB device is displayed in Device Manager after you connect the cable to a different port, then uninstall and reinstall the software of USB device driver.

If the device is not recognized in any port, unplug it and go to the next step.

    • Open the Device Manager.
    • Double-click Bus USB controllers,

    • Double-click on a USB root hub,

    • Click the Power tab

    • Click on properties of power supply (if it is displayed).

Devices need that are connected to the hub are shown, as well as the power they have. If the total displayed power is more than 500 mA, remove the devices and use a hub powered.

    • Continue looking at the properties of the power of each USB hub. If the total power required exceeds the total available power for the hub, then remove a device on this hub to a decrease in the number of consumption.

    • Plug in and wait five seconds. If the device is not recognized, unplug and go to the next step.

Please note; Remove USB cables at high speed that are more than 3 m (9.8 ft) in length and use cables at high speed that are shorter than 3 m.

  • Satellite L - a single USB port works

    Hello

I've had this laptop for a few months and I could not do all the USB ports work, the system recognizes all the but work alone. If I check the system it says ports are working properly and that it has the latest driver but when I do anything, a mouse, USB KEY, connect headsets to listen nothing, only one of the ports to recognize hardware.

    Can someone help me?

    Hi alecarrill63,

It would be interesting to know what laptop you have exactly and what operating system you are using.
Can you post this important information?

In your case, I will try to update the Web from Toshiba site chipset driver

But theoretically, if only a single USB port works, the other ports may be defective and therefore, it would be necessary to replace the motherboard. :(

  • USB ports work very strange on my new Satellite L650D-100

Hello, toshiba loaptop users and professional!

Last week, I bought toshiba L650D-100 with windows 7, 64 bit. Everything is good, but the USB ports work strange:

USB mouse works ok at a port and does not to another. It is not in the windows Device Manager, but if I connect or disconnect the device, it sounds "ding".
With USB storage there is another problem: it appears in Device Manager and it is shown that drivers are ok and the device are working properly, but if I try to open it in Explorer, it crashes, green progress bar grows and stops at the end. This problem appears in the two ports.

If I reboot laptop with usb storage pluged, it can start to work correctly, but if I unplug and plug again the problem reappear.

Usb storage and usb mice work well on another computer. I've updated the bios, but it does not help.

Help, please. Maybe I should try to reinstall the chipset driver? If so, where could I get?

    Hey,.

    > This may somehow worry about supply management food or feeding issues?
In my opinion it has nothing to do with the power supply, or you may notice that the problem appears not on battery mode?

In my opinion, you should follow the instructsions posted by Akuma. Recovery facility will show you if it s a hardware or software problem. ;)

  • No USB port works, code 32.

Original title: no USB ports work

All 3 ports on my Asus laptop don't work, here is the error message in the Device Manager ' a driver (service) for this device has been disabled.  Another driver can provide this functionality. The error message makes me think that perhaps something has disabled drivers, I might have accidentally downloaded a program that attempts to control the usb ports? I suggest you add updates at a time, until find you that is causing the problem.  Then uninstall it and install the rest.

  • After a reboot, none of the usb ports work and USB problems-uninstalled USB Ports

I just bought a Seagate external drive, but none of my usb ports work. I looked into it and followed what it says on the uninstall of my USB ports, bad move on my part. Now, after a reboot, no usb port works, I've tried all microsoft support said to do and nothing seems to work. I think I need to reinstall my usb root hub? Perhaps, but I can't seem to find anyway to do. Help, please!

    Hello

Check the status of the device in Device Manager. Follow the steps for the same thing:

    a. click on start

    b. click Run, in the Run dialog box type devmgmt.msc

    c. in the Device Manager window, locate the USB key and expand the drive, double-click the sub element to check if an error message or error code is listed.

If there is no error message highlight Bus USB controllers and then click Action select check for material changes.

  • Pavilion DV7: USB Ports not working not

The usb ports on my pavilion dv7 stopped working.  In doing research I think it has something to do with the drivers, but being not not 100% technical, I'm not entirely sure how to solve this problem.  Could you please help me solve because I use quite often the usb ports as well as to synchronize my phone etc.

    Thank you.

    Hi @laci2013 ,

Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A place where you can find solutions for your problems with the help of the community!

I stumbled upon your post on the laptop and wanted to help you! I looked in your question about your HP Pavilion dv7 Notebook and issues with the USB ports on 10 newly installed Windows. Here is a link to solve the USB connections.

I would like to uninstall all listed in the universal serial bus controllers list.

Please note remove any and all USB devices and remove the memory card in the slot of the card reader. Disconnect all non-essential devices before you uninstall the controller Universal serial bus.

Restart your computer, and then insert the USB device.

You can try to use the Windows Update Troubleshooter to fix updates that do not come through Windows 10.  Please restart the laptop twice to make sure that all updates are completed!

    I hope this helps.

    Thank you.

  • Pavilion a6120n: USB ports and slots memory card does not

My Pavilion a6120n desktop computer has worked brilliantly since I bought it. Since last week the 2 front usb ports and 2 unused usb ports in the back have stopped working. My printer is plugged into a rear port and my wireless mouse is plugged into a second rear port and these work very well.

I use usually a USB key for the exchange of data or card reader locations (which have also stopped working). I no longer see memory card icons in the window 'computer '. When install something again the "new hardware found" statement appears, but the driver install always fails. I think it's a software problem, but there is no usb drivers to download on the HP/support site that I can find... so...

Here's what I've tried so far.

Run antivirus software. Full scan & scan memory - no problem

Don't scan complete malewarebytes - no problem

I tried to reboot several times without success.

Catering to several previous = failure restore points

Computer restart in repair = failure mode

Use the repair disk I did = failure

Control the management of the power supply for each usb port see if power was properly routed = ok

Removed the cover of the housing and carefully inspected the cables and connectors.

Finally I tried to uninstall the drivers usb = failure

After restarting the computer the last time that the boot file has failed, and after several hours of attempting a repair, I had to reinstall Windows 7 completely.

Still no usb or memory card function.

    Any help would be appreciated

    Thank you

OK, after a lot of frustration and a reflection to when the problem started. I discovered it all started when I installed my new HP Envy 4500 printer all-in-one. It has wireless capabilities, but I installed it via a usb cable.  I just didn't know it would be the problem but I started with this premise.

I got all components usb of the computer (except the mouse at the moment). So I uninstalled all the usb drivers I had on Device Manager.

After restart, drivers loaded automatically and everything works fine now. I see my camera via the connection cable, the work now in sd slots and all the work of the usb.

I left the 4500 want connected and installed the printer with the network provided on the installation disc software. I test printed from my computer and iPod so far, and it still works properly.

I did have to reinstall Vista. Could it have been a glitch in the installation of the software want to through the usb cable? Don't know and don't care at this point. Just happy that everything works.

Thanks for the comments, and I consider this problem to be solved.

  • Pavilion 6710f: upgrade to 3.0 in desktop pavilion 6710f usb ports?

I have a hp pavilion p6710f desktop that has 4 usb 2.0 ports on the back, & 2 front. is it possible for me to install usb 3.0 ports in whole or in part? or just add them (which would be better)? Thank you!

You can check your power cables. PIN 4 (molex), looked like this:

What I see on the page product, you will need it IF you use the USB port for equipment that consumes energy high enough. That is to say; external hard drive, smartphones.

If you are just using the port for a mouse or keyboard, you will not need this.

  • Pavilion p6523w USB ports

Where is the USB ports on the Panel before the p6523w?  According to the specifications of product online there are two, as well as headphones. Crazy, I'm just not see them. Help appreciated.

At halfway in the front, you see a band chrome who is a sliding door push it downwards to reveal the usb etc.

  • HP Pavilion 2243us usb ports no-oporational

Hello. Ports usb 3.0 on my laptop have stopped responding. I have a 4.0 port usb as well and that it is still functional. I tried to install the wireless driver button, but it does not download properly. I guess that's because I installed windows 7. What can I do to solve my problem?

If your model is G7 2243us try the drivers of this model with a similar equipment & Windows 7 driver support.

    These two are necessary:
