Pavilion dm4-1265dx does not start after Windows 7 logo

My laptop does not start after the "Starting Windows" screen when I try to boot the operating system normally. When I try to run the repair mode from the start nothing happens... I get a blue background image and the pointer of the arrow, but no icons or windows appear.

I tried the system diagnostic mode by pressing ESC when turning the laptop on and the hard drive test fails every time, showing the following results:

Test Drive: 1
INTELLIGENT control: passed
DST short: failure

Failure ID: 64RG79-5AP62V-XD6U2K-60RN03
Product ID: XZ298UA #ABA

Hard drive 1

--------------------------------------------------------

Test drive: FAILURE

How should I proceed? The laptop is still under warranty, but it was purchased in the United States, and I now live in the Brazil.

  • Pavilion DM4-1265dx does not start after the restoration, the new hard drive

    Hello:

I have a laptop of clients that a hard drive has been giving an iminent failure message.  I was able to create a disc of recovery and replaced the original HD (640 GB) with a 500 GB HD.  I can't do the factory recovery because the hard drive is smaller, but it allows me to perform a recovery of the operating system.  The question that I am running is after he read the DVD 6, the system wants to re-start and then it crashes just in the HP splash screen.  If I turn it works, I get could not find a boot device.

How can I get around that, before the establishment with a win 7 CD?  Is this process of recovery to a waste of time, as I did on the previous model HP computers and it has always worked.

Thanks in advance for any ideas.

    Mike

    Hi cloud:

To be more precise, of memory, there are two options, reset and factory restore.  Factory restore won't do it because the disk is slightly smaller.  Factory reset will allow me to put the recovery disk hard, but when he re - start, it crashes just in the hp splash screen.  When I do the three fingers of salvation, then I get cannot find the boot device.  I made the internal test and everything passes with flying colors.

I finished download an iso image and install from scratch, but I can tell you that it is the system more screwed up that I never ran into 30 years of working with these toys.  I tired to do a repair, but that creates just again the same symptom.

I have an Acer Tablet that I've been able to use the computers acer recovery disk that was not intended (but had the same version of the operating system) and at least was able to get the operating system and software and finished to the top with the right drivers, size of the hard drive has been ignored in their case.

Thanks for help you, it is appreciated, but I doubt I can recommend HP to one of my clients in the future based on what I've run here.  This is inconsistent with a solution of recovery as far as I'm concerned, that MS requires manufacturers.  Lets get real, hardware fails for various reasons, and you may not necessarily the same size hard drives with the rate of change occurring in the industry.  Personally, I prefer a game of installation for the operating system and drivers disks.  Dell is one of the only ones I know who did this, and as much as their material is so so, they do at least that right of the party.

    Once again thank you.

  • Pavilion dm4-1160us does not start after the failure of system recovery

I have Windows 7 Home edition is installed. In my view, it is 64-bit.

I get everything by initializing the error message is:

    "BOOTMGR is missing".

Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete to restart»

When running various tests (Tuneup, break-in, Start-up, hard drive) in I always get the same failure ID: M4PC2J-5KQ6N0-XD6V41-60VG03. The poduct ID is XH124UA #ABA.

The case began after my computer froze and I forced the reboot.

I guess that the hard drive is a gonner. Is this correct?

    Hi Mario,.

Personally, I recommend to replace the hard drive yourself - it is a surprisingly simple process (and much cheaper).  A brief guide on this is detailed below.

Your computer is listed as coming with a 500 GB hard drive, but you can also easily install a 750 GB HARD drive if you want a little more space - readers at the following links are examples that would be perfect for your laptop.

    Hard drive 500 GB

    750 GB hard drive.

The procedure to replace the hard drive begins on Page 61 of your & Maintenance Guide.

Once this is done, simply use your recovery media to reinstall the operating system on the new drive - this is described in the document of HP here.

If you do not have your recovery media, let me know because there is another option, you can use it as long as you can clearly read the activation of 25-character product key on your label COST.

    Here's the key:

We're working on two sockets and one does not at all.

You have a bad memory module. It happens very rarely, but it's not impossible to get a new stick of bad memory. Get the replaced bad and I think you'll be fine.

    Hello

Thanks for posting your concern for the Forums for Support and sorry about the problem you are having. To help you the best I would need the failure error code. I will quote the steps to get the code of failure below.

    • Go to the Control Panel
    • Make sure that in the upper right corner of the ' view by ' is selected for both small or large icons instead of the category.
    • Go to "Windows update".
    • You will find on the left in the list 'view update history'.
    • In the list, the status of the various updates would b mentioned in the second column.
    • There will be updates failed, you need to right-click on it and click 'see details'.
    • On the next window, there will be "Error Details" section with code 8xxxxxxxx.

These are the codes that are required. Please write us back with these codes. And also for resolved errors you can try to install the updates individually.

    • You have to go back to the control panel > windows updates.
    • In the list on the left choose "check for updates".
    • Once the updates is enabled, it will be little important and a few optional updates.
    • First click on the important updates and a list would be populated, choose the updates one by one.
    • After an update is installed and the le redemarrage reboot the PC, choose the second update and continue in the same manner.

Although I work for HP, but I am personally.

Please click "Accept as Solution" If you feel my post solved your problem, it will help others find the solution. Click on the 'Bravo Thumbs Up' on the left to say 'Thank you' for helping!

  • Windows does not start after Windows update.

Original title: udate Windows vista problems

I have dell dimension e520, Windows Vista home Basic, 32-bit SP 2, and in January, I upgraded RAM to 4 GB to 1 GB. McAfee security on the computer. The system worked until the last updated (March 2012).  The computer does not start correctly after March 2012 update and System Restore restores to February 21 implemented to date.  The computer will then automatically install the updates again and restart, after which the computer will not start up again (an annoying loop).  I also lose saved data after the system recovery sets return date.  I tried Microsoft Fixit, which did not help.  Thanks for your help. Hurry LOL available updates.

PS computer says 'patch blocking windows to start.  Some updates successfully installed previously, but on the next time you download windows updates, that try to download updates and others have "failed."  Sorry for the confusion but I'm rushing and I try to include all the symptoms, I don't see dealing with the problem I have.

I had to take it to get fixed, thanks to the effort.  The person fixing said he ran a few cleaning tools and which appeared to fix.

  • Computer does not start after Windows update

I built my computer in December last year, which makes it less than a year. It has worked fine until this last week when I decided to give a few necessary windows updates a lot. I decided to download and install all night, and now it does not start. I get nothing on the screen. I don't get the safe mode options. I didn't get last known good configuration options. I don't not even a splash screen. After a full minute, it turns off again, regardless of how many times I turn it back on. It happened for a few days. Are no external hard drives not connected; only an intern. The only devices I plugged are my keyboard and mouse. Can anyone offer a solution? Whatever happened to you?

I am running Windows 7 Ultimate Edition.

The first time I tried to start after downloading the updates, he went to the boot screen windows 7 usual, that clear blue that says it configures windows and not turn off the computer during the process. Before we were told: "Welcome to Windows," he said "Shutting Down", but not before the configuration of progress has reached 100%. At this time, everything seemed normal. After the computer turns.

  • After the deployment of a Windows 7 image, pc does not start after Windows logo

    Hello

I tried to install a laptop via a Windows Image. After that I deployed the image, the laptop does not start past the Windows logo. Normally I had to change the SATA AHCI setting to solve this problem, but he was already on AHCI.

I tried to install it via a Windows 7 installation CD and it works, but I want to fix the laptop / image to work on this laptop.

The logo of Windows get stuck, then I get a blue screen very quickly and it restarts. Also when I try to start in safe mode, it's the same thing. loading everything, then it gets stuck and also a really fast blue screen and reboot.

Someone at - it an idea may be what the problem?

    BR,

    Jim

I did restore by image much, many times without ever a problem.

    • I only use the integrated Windows 7 image creating installation
    • I only use a DVD + R White, never-r
    • I create the image ONLY on install brand new to be absolutely certain, there is no corruption

I've heard of this kind of problem does not happen when the image was made from a damaged disc.  Which simply transfers the corruption.

  • VMWare Virtual Center Server does not start after Windows Update

Help!  I'm under vCenter 5.1 on Windows 2008 R2 with SQL Server 2008 R2 Standard.  I have applied the latest updates for Windows (critical only) as it applied Service Pack 3 to SQL 2008 R2.

Now the vCenter Service does not start.  It generates error 7024 in the Windows system log:

The VMware VirtualCenter Server service stopped with the error special service that the system cannot find the specified file...

and error 1000 in the Windows application log:

Could not initialize the VMware VirtualCenter. Closing...

PS - I confirmed that the SQL instance is running.

Absolutely nothing has been done except the Windows and SQL updates.  Everything worked fine until this point.  Ko an article deals with a "space" condition, but there are a lot of available space.

I have attached the file vpxd.log, he created.

    Clues?

    Thank you.

OK it turns out that the WWW service is interfering with vCenter Service on Port 80.  The thing is that the WWW service has been set to manual start.  Somehow during the upgrade Windows or SQL, one of them decided to turn auto-start. After the reboot, the conflict occurred.  Once I put the WWW back service to manual start the vCenter service started OK.

  • Windows 8 Pro does not start after windows update updates for April

    Hello

Pulled up to my PC this morning and was asked to install updates from windows update. Check the list, there are 11 important available updates. I have unchecked and hiding implementing Nvidia updated as I want to do the updates of my GPU myself. Installed the remaining 10, completed and has been asked to restart my PC.

The problems starts here; I am more able to start windows.

It is past the bios screen, shows the blue flag with a circle of rotation below and then... nothing more than a black screen and my screen goes to mode 'sleep'.

I tried to start in safe mode minimum clean using a prompt (bcdedit/set {default} safeboot) repair my installation disk option, but it does not start even in safe mode.

I run system restore turned on so that the option is not valid for me.

The system is now check the disk for errors, but it seems to hang there as well as happens for more than 2 hours now...

Any way that I can return the updates of windows on the outside? Any other suggestions than the reset of the installation disc?

Disappointed that the "major updates" Microsoft kills my work machine.

Problem solved now and it was the update of KB2808735 who was / is the origin of the problem.

I placed my SSD into another computer and was able to pull up in SafeMode off and remove the updates.

Installed all the updates one by one until it chrashed again installing the update mentioned above.

  • Computer does not start after Windows 7 updates

After the updates this week, Outlook crashed during an attempt to open the html emails.  I noticed that the Start button says to restart to be able to install the updates. Instead of restart, the screen went black.  I turned off and tried to turn on the computer.  Normally clicked and then dormant material.  Never on screen and remains black.  Have tried several times to disconnect all the equipment and power nothing doesn't.

I have backups on an external hard drive but no ERD for Windows 7.  Read suggestions for open mode without failure etc. but if the SCREEN IS BLACK AND the COMPUTER don't YOU CAN t CHANGE THE PARAMETERS of START!

    Any ideas?

    Hi Joel,

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

I suggest that you want to run auto repair with installation media and see if it helps you repair system files or not. For the execution of the task, I suggest you to try the steps below and see if it helps.

Method 1: When you use the recovery environment (Windows RE) to troubleshoot startup issues, first try the Startup Repair option in the System Recovery Options dialog box. If this does not resolve the problem, or if you have additional problems manually, use the Bootrec.exe tool.

Because you cannot start the computer, you may need to create a bootable Windows installation media, and then do an auto repair, and if this does not help then you try to restore your computer to the previous date.

Note: When you use system restore to restore the computer to a previous state, the programs and updates that you have installed are removed.

If you are using Windows 7 then the link provided below might help you to download and create installation media.

Download Windows 7 Disk Images (ISO files)

Method 2: If the problem persists, try to rebuild the BCD by using the Bootrec.exe tool. To run the Bootrec.exe tool, you must start Windows recovery environment (Windows RE) . To do this, follow these steps:

    1. Place the Windows 7 installation disc in the disc drive, and then start the computer.
    2. Press a key when you are prompted. Select a language, a time, a currency, a keyboard or an input method, and then click Next.
    3. Click repair your computer.
    4. Click the operating system you want to repair, and then click Next.
    5. In the System Recovery Options dialog box, click command prompt.
    6. Type Bootrec.exe, and then press ENTER.

See the following link for more information:

How to use the Bootrec.exe tool in the Windows recovery environment to troubleshoot and repair startup issues in Windows

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/927392

Method 3: If after performing the above steps, you are able to start the computer and access the desktop then try to Uninstall KB3097877 update if it is installed, and then reinstall it.

Hope it would help. If problem persists always post back with the current state of your computer and the result of the proposed suggestion, we will be happy to help you.
