Pavilion p6-2108: use of the high processor when refreshing or mode s/w

What Win8 update or install MS Office system slows down and must cover all night to make progress. Manager tasks indicates 'System' using 49%. "go to process" shows "NT kernel and system". The system was purchased with Win7 and now is the dual-boot time 7 & 8. 500 GB partition to win 8 a.

There is a conflict of Windows 8 between my HP pavilions (p6 - 2108p & p7-1225) and the vaccine Drive (DV). DV protects access to the public, and classroom by restoring a reference system when the system is restarted. Systems slowed to a crawl, with the 'system' using 50% CPU. Disable Windows Defender helped a bit, but after uninstalling DV systems normally respond to updates.

  • Use of the high memory when multiple tabs are open (and closed)

When I open Firefox memory usage is around 70-100 MB RAM. When I work with Firefox I often open 15-20 tabs at once, then I close them and open others. Increaes of use up to 450-500 MB RAM memory. After the closing of tabs use decreases normally, but after some time. He begins to decrease very slowly and never returns to the level from the beginning. After a few hours Firefox uses about 400 MB of RAM, even if only one tab is open. First I thought it's because of my plugins (Firebug, Speed Dial, Adlock more) but I have checked and it is not. I reinstalled Firefox but the problem occurs as well. I don't know if this is normal. Could you help me, please?

You can't just. On AMD a series it's an APU... the video tracks integrated into the processor itself and the switchable dedicated card is based on the embedded video. So you can't just use 100% of the system memory for Windows tasks. Some will be used by the video system.

Hello, I had recently a few problems with my computer after going on vacation for a week and turn it off.  When I got home my computer has had some problems of high memory use, I have no idea why.  I looked in my processes tab and it shows that Svchost.exe as the highest [150K] usage, but is not a lot to slow down computers.  Nothing else under it attracts a lot of use, I tried to disable my anti-virus [Norton] and it still didn't work.  All my drivers are up to date.

  • The use of the graphics processor

Hi there, I hope you can help with this problem: during display table for the use of the cpu and the bottom shows it red when he goes on his use of 20%. What it means?

There is an option to break the graph of CPU usage in two sections; time in kernel and user mode time mode. Many devices drivers and the essential elements of the operating system running in the kernel, so that the user-mode run in user mode. This option can be enabled by selecting the kernel schedules on the view menu. When this option is enabled on the chart to use CPU will show one green and one red zone. The red area is the amount of time spent in kernel mode, and the green area indicates the amount of time spent in user mode.

  • Scchose.exe use of the high ram and RAM ghost.

I recently updated my 12GB to 16GB ram then I noticed Svchost .exe raised usuage (389 848 KB) RAM, the process is bound to Wlansvc UxSms, TrkWks, SysMain, PcaSvc, Netman, hidserv, AudioEndpointBuilder. All with PID 1480.

Also the use of the ram in the task manager must be wrong, since the use of the ram is not were close to 55% of total ram installed (8 GB).

The system seems clean so scanned by McAfee and Windows Security Essentials.

Well actually, after I done things as checked all disks and reinstalled the MacAfee and a few other drivers. Use you RAM has improved somewhat (30% off), since there is not much question now and running while trying to save the settings actually used resources more CPU and RAM I wanted (can not play LoL and slow navigation on IE). So I guess for now I'll put that aside until I have again RAM RAM (16 GB is maximum, you can get on a laptop I think).

However I discovered that when I hit F8 and try to repair windows. It will slide in to bluescreen says unmountable_boot_volume... I guess I'm going to have to look into that one.

  • Pavilion DV6: Loud hum of the hard drive when burning CD

Recently, I noticed that my laptop makes a fairly loud "buzzing" or "vibrant" sound. I encountered this problem recently when I tried to burn an audio CD. I've read about this problem on other forums of which most, explain that the cause could be due to the type of disc. I have this problem when I read from a disk. This problem could lead to the type of disc that I use?

    Hello:

It has been my experience throughout my laptop and deskop PC DVD burners do the same racket when it burns CD / DVD, but not when it reads them as well.

I don't think it's something to worry about.

When burning a disc, a much more strain is placed on material that when reading a disc.

I use Memorex or Verbatim quality disc too, and readers always sound as you said.

One of the burners of my desktop PC is so loud, it begins to vibrate the case and I have to give him a rap on the side for the case of vibrate with the burner in the quiet.

  • Use of the high memory in Windows Vista

I have a PC laptop Vista with 1 GB of RAM (I know I should get more!) that runs very slowly.

The problem seems to be that the History graph to use physical memory in Task Manager shows continually near maxed out - usually 90% or more.

No a process indicates an abnormally high consumption (SVCHost is the highest in 40 000 K with "show processes from all users' selected).

I defragmented and run several scans of antimalware (analyzers Microsoft, Spybot, Malwarebytes, Superantispyware, etc.) and everything is displayed 100% clean.

I've disabled Aero, transparency, the sidebar and disabled the services as Windows Search, Superfetch, Readyboost, and with little effect.

I have run MSConfig and booted the system with everything off, and while the memory usage is a little lower, it is still very high.

It's the analysis of PCPitstop which was done WITHOUT running programs other than Internet Explorer 7: "this system had a total memory load of 82% during the tests. This often indicates that more programs were running that could be managed by the RAM installed. »

Vista is a memory hog. As you noted, you don't have enough RAM and he's never going to run smoothly with only 1 GB. Increase of at least 2 GB. You can also run the free process monitor utility to see what is eating your processor cycles.

  • What is the best way to manage the use of the XP processor and backup storage?

I have a three year old computer, I use a lot of disk space and burn the DVD for backup storage. I am a heavy user of CPU too. How do you recommend that I improve it? Thank you

    * original title - my Windows XP storage... *.

    Hmmmmmm!

"I use a lot of disk space" - remove all the files that you do not need, does not store things that you don't use often. Delete unwanted files, i.e. run diskcleanup for example.

"burn the DVD for storage of backup" - If you have USB2 then consider getting an external USB2 hard drive. Its easy to set up as and when necessary and is easy to copy/backup information to.

Indeed, consider laying a HD internal or (easier) a USB2 external hard drive for storage from day to day, not just a backup.

"I am a heavy user of CPU too" - its sometimes possible to upgrade your processor one installed initially, but it will depend on your type/brand/model of PC. Sometimes possible, sometimes it isn't. But it is usually at best a stop gap.

If you have any free ram slots, additional ram stick in (get the right type for your PC) that can help speed up actions for certain tasks. If you play games and you have a "graphics card", level it as well.

Best of all, is to consider a replacement PC. If you are really short on HD and have a very slow motherboard or CPU, long term on a new PC is probably going to be the best.

Not sure if this is the type of information you were after? If it is not coming back.

  • Updated 4 question? : the use of the graphics processor shows 60% CPU, but inside the VM Task Manager shows 3-10%

    Hey guys...

Hoping that someone else noticed this. I have a host that is running with a release of U4 freshly updated three virtual machines running. One of the three shows a CPU usage abnormal on customer VIM graphics, but when I'm sitting inside the virtual machine, the CPU usage is normal 3-10% with a bit high spikes every now and than. If anyone else has noticed something weird like that? I restarted the VM and the host and its always show this. VMware Tools are updated etc. His host W2K with 2vCPU and 3 GB of ram.

    Thank you!

Each unique Windows 2000 multi proc machine I P2V would had this problem.  No exception.  The strange thing is that Windows 2000 VM built from scratch are very good.  Change the HAL to single proc will correct the problem, but if you really need and processors multiple (as we do) then the only option I found is to play with the advanced VM option 'monitor.idleLoopSpinUS '.  A value of 2000 is a good compromise for us.
