  • PCI.sys missing or corrupted Server R2 2012

After the Windows updates, you now receive an error during startup which States PCI.sys missing or corrupted.  I tried to replace the file with a new copy pci.sys, ran chkdsk c:/r, and nothing seems to work.

I have the impression that the registry is to blame, but don't know where to start

  • How can I fix the pci.sys if corruption do not have XP installation disc

I bought a laptop in 2006 that had Windows XP installed in it.  Yesterday, I installed SP3 for Windows XP update.  I noticed that he hung up during installation. Finally, he gave me a blue screen and when I tried to restart, it tells me that 'system32\DRIVERS\pci.sys was damaged.  He recommended repairing reinstalling Windows XP with the installation CD.  However, no disk was provided with my purchase.  The software was already installed in the computer.  I have a certificate of authenticity, but not the disk to reinstall.  Without this disk, what can I do to fix this?  Or is it possible to get a disc from Microsoft or a source since I have the certificate of authenticity.

    Hello panjok2,

Sometimes recovery CD are dependent on the architecture of a hard drive.  If it is different from the original disc, then we have problems.

In this case, the best thing you could do is contact HP and see if this is the case.  If it is not why this happens, they should be able to help you as well because they are the ultimate authority on their recovery process.

Let us know if you have any questions.

  • system32\DRIVERS\pci.sys missing or corrupt file error but windows xp is already preloaded on computer when purchased

missing or corrupt file error system32\DRIVERS\pci.sys keeps appearing. I had a problem with google chrome and then stop everything. This error appeared. It tells me to use the cr rom boot but xp was already loaded on the sony vaio that we bought a few years ago. I don't know what to do next because I don't want to lose the pictures and music, we have on the hard drive. Any help would be appreciated

If your data is not backed up, then at some point that the data will be lost.

Your Sony are delivered with a hidden restore partition or recovery disks, but I do not think that the Sony recovery allows to repair an installation of win, only pure install.

You must remove the drive and it slave on another PC in order to retrieve the data, or take it to a decent repair shop for them to do it for you

  • PCI.sys blue screen during the installation/repair Windows XP Pro

My computer has been invaded by the virus, and they have corrupted my system files until I can start only in safe mode. I tried to repair Windows XP Pro using the installation CD, and I am getting a blue screen with the PCI. SYS on it. It has been set to boot from the CD, and it was.

Also, I have already installed Recovery Console, and the computer is a Windows XP SP2 with the plant material. I did a CHKDSK on it and looks very good.

Oops. just a simple driver issue. I started in the last known good config and had no error. I uninstalled the driver and got the suitable driver for my laptop. Sorry for the inconvenience!

    :(

In your case, I would like to start by #4 below.

Do not install an operating system is usually caused by (in order of probability):

    1. you are trying to install with other devices connected to the computer. Unplug them before trying to make an installation.

    2. "" "" defective installation media. "" Check the CD/DVD installation for scratches, tasks. Try another machine.

    3. bad optical drive. Test with another CD/DVD bootable or Exchange for a well-known work.

    4. faulty RAM. Test with Memtest86 + www.memtest.org . You will download the .iso image file to create a bootable cd. Burn the file with the third party burning software *-as an image, not in the form of data. Then start with the media that you did (you may need to change the boot priority in your BIOS so that the optical drive is the first boot device). The test runs immediately. The test run for an hour or two--at least that errors are seen immediately. If you get any errors, replace the RAM.

    * A good free choice ImgBurn comes from www.imgburn.com .

    5. bad hard drive. Test with a diagnostic utility downloaded from site of the disc mftr... You create a bootable CD with the files you download. Burn the file with the third party burning software *-as an image, not in the form of data. Boot with the CD that you have done and do a full test of the reader. The physical tests fail, replace it.

I read the other stages of forum and tried several times to solve this problem, but does not have my 'Windows Professional CD' squat. It is, and for 'Refurbished PC' and I think now I need the original 'set up' that has been preloaded on the desktop when I bought it 20 days ago! Those refurbished are not the same. Is that correct and what should I do?

    Hello

It is very good that you posted the vendor and device ID because you can search with these codes here:
    http://www.PCIDatabase.com

The device seems to be the Intel Management Engine Interface

So in your case I would try installing the chipset driver. You can download it from the Web from Toshiba website!

  • Unable to start XP in safe mode, stuck at mup.sys; BSOD with installation disc

My computer is a computer laptop Asus eeePC 1000H with no material changes and default OS. I left the machine all night and came to see the machine with the error text:

"Reboot and select proper boot device."
"or Insert Boot Media in some boot device and press a key.

Restart in safe mode gave me the same error, except that I could see that the boot process failed at mup.sys.

Then I tried to repair my installation by using a Windows XP installation disc so I could use the Recovery Console, but I got a BSOD and error:

    STOP 0X0000007E (0XC0000005, 0XF75DE0BF, 0XF7A2A208, 0XF7A29F08)
    PCI.sys-address F75DE0BF base at F75D7000 Datestamp 3b7d855c

I have turned off unnecessary equipment in the BIOS and still have the same result. The next step here is to erase completely the machine and retemplate TI - something I'm eager to avoid.

I've been surfing on support forums all morning and I noticed that there is a spike in people with this problem. Is there a virus going around or was there a windows update last night? I use McAfee if it makes a difference.

From your description of the problem, it sounds like the hardware failure, no software (virus). First test the drive and RAM. Since you don't have a CD player with eeePCs, you need to use bootable USB based on keys of an external optical drive or troubleshooting tools. Or, if the computer is under warranty, contact Asus support.

    http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Hardware_Tshoot

If you can not do the test yourself and/or are uncomfortable opening your computer, take the machine to a professional computer repair shop (not your local equivalent of BigComputerStore/GeekSquad).
