PE R710 found Config Raid

Hi all. I'm trying to raid installation on a PE R710 but for the option Configuration utility does not appear at startup so I can't set up the raid. Then, I checked the SATA settings > Embedded SATA in the bios but the only option available is the ATA Mode... There is RAID mode. I checked the material, and it seems that hardware RAID is connected correctly. Any ideas?

Hi THEFLASH1932 - I do not see PERC or CTRL-R invites during POST. The server has not been used for about a year and the last administration system is no longer here so I don't know who installed the RAID controller. I decided to go with and it's working now, so it seems that I had a bad controller. Thanks a lot for the answers. It was useful for troubleshooting.

  • Silent, quick config RAID for Mac Pro DAW

I'm looking for ideas for storage configuration for my Mac Pro ' 09. This is the heart of a campus radio station / recording studio. The machine is a beast, and it serves my purposes very well. That said, the storage on board certainly needs an upgrade. Recently, I ran DriveDx to check the health of disks, and several of them are almost 30,000 hours. Right now, we lack a RAID 0 2 x WD RE3 750 GB (circa 2009) and 2 x Seagate 750Go (to 2008). Disks run without problem, but they are relatively slow and old (max ~100MB/s WD; ~75MB/s Seagate). In addition, I'm really not comfortable running a raid interlaced offshore of different styles of hard drives.

I am looking to buy four new disks. Here's my wish list:

Minimum of 1 TB of capacity

    Optimized RAID

    Reliable

    Quiet

    Relatively fast

    Not horribly expensive

Does anyone have advice? I've been looking around for a while, but it has been difficult to find a good combination of these features. Or, if you have any other ideas I'm open to that as well. Thank you!

    Mac Pro 4.1

    2.26 GHz 4 x 2

    32 GB OF RAM

    3 x GeForce GT 120

You can install one or more SSD Drives slightly faster than the 375 M bytes/s supported by the drive bays and get excellent results and not need a RAID at all.

  • Desktop Dell XPS 8500 - Raid config does not

    All-

I received my new 8500 a few weeks ago '' that came with only (1) 2 TB HARD drive which has been loaded with the W8.  For the last week or two, I was setup with additional drives / cables / etc.

So now I have a 120 GB SSD that I use for the primary HARD drive I rebooted W8 on (due to the demand of the reinstallation discs) and also bought an identical 2 TB Seagate drive to set up a Raid 1 (mirror) configuration.

So inside it is connected like this:

SSD 120 (main OS drive) connected to the Sata port 0

DVD player - connected to port Sata 1 (white block... "I think that his port 1 but on the bios, he said port 5?)

2 TB HDD - connected to the Sata 2 port (second of the card)

2 TB HDD - connected to the Sata 3 port (again on the second series of the map)

I am eager to have both drives of 2 TB for the storage of data and when I record something on the first disc of 2 TB, I want that this mirror to the second disc of 2 TB for backups.  I want to keep the 120 GB SSD for just the OS and applications I can load later.

Now, everything looks fine on the disk management.  I have my main drive C: (120 GB SSD) / one of my 2 TB like H: / and the other 2 TB in M:

Everything has been initialized, configured, etc. under disk management (allocated all the space for the to 2 discs)

So I read tons of discussions and documents online and I know how you go into the BIOS and change Sata from AHCI RAID option.  When I do this I select to save changes and exit, and the pc tries to start up... gets to the Dell Logo and then fails.  He opted for the stop and restart and new come to the same part and stops.  She continues to do so until I go into the BIOS and change back the settings of Raid AHCI save / quit and it starts right in the operating system?

Not sure what the heck happens... any help would be greatly appreciated!  Thank you

    JackShack-

Just wanted to report and let you know that everything was fine.  I've initialized, created a partition, did a quick format and everything is visible in 'My Computer' as expected.

Before closing this thread, I just wanted to take your brain with some questions about the current configuration:

    1. whenever I have restart / reboot the pc, the RAID ROM or whatever the splash screen appears for a few seconds and I can't see where I configured my readers and everything looks good, then it goes into start the OS?  I guess it's normal to have the pc to start with this config RAID ROM because I configured the RAID parameters?

    2. in the BIOS to get the RAID set, I had to change settings such as "Secure Boot" (from activate to disable) and "Start Mode" (from UEFI to Legacy).  I guess these are the "required" settings for RAID work on the pc and I would like to leave them alone?

    3. when I boot up the OS and I go to the management of these two disks or workstation (1) only one of my drives of 2 TB arises (I know it is because I have RAID configured in RAID 1, so since it is mirroring its only showing a single disc.)  BUT how do I know in my mind that my data are successfully copy through two drives if only one shows?  I just take it for granted that everything is working as intended, or is it possible to see the data on both drives?  Just curious...

In any case, I think that's it.  I just wanted to say with real sincerity that I really appreciate your patience and all your advice and guidance while trying to get RAID configured on this computer.

    Thanks again!

I received the new Qosmio G40 to test, but there is no RAID more?

But I also found the RAID on C:, Toshiba, drivers, Raid drivers - what can I do with this... I don't really know how :(

To my knowledge only Qosmio G20 and the G30 supports the RAID. Units of the RAID on the third page of the BIOS can be found on it.

The G40 has two hard disks, but the RAID is not supported and is not available!

Please help me and thank you.

    Hello

It seems that the Qosmio G20 102 belongs to the series of PQG20E.
Research on the European driver Toshiba page I found the RAID for Windows XP MCE driver v1.03.0008 (can also be used with XP Pro).

You will need an external USB FDD to include this driver in the operating system.
But note; After installing the RAID driver you shouldn't t format the HARD disk or create a new partition, because that will remove the RAID driver from the HARD disk and installing the OS fails!

I hope I could help you would also appreciate a feedback ;)

    Grolle,

Leave in the Raid Controller, what is the status of the table? In addition, was the raid 1 initialized after being created? If this isn't the case, then, who will have to be done before you try to install.

If you download this and start on the lifecycle controller (F10) and then select deploy BONES, load these files there and proceed with the installation of the OS.

  • Optiplex 9010MT SATA configuration

I bought this pc with a HARD drive, which is connected to the SATA 0. There are 2 DVD 1 SATA and SATA 2 drives. The boot process seemed normal when I got it.

I plugged a second HDD SATA 3. When I started, I had a short notice of RAID configuration during the boot process. (He started successfully.) I looked in the BIOS and found that the previous owner had the config SATA RAID value even if there was only 1 HARD drive. I did some research and it seems the opinion of config RAID came because the 2 hard drives were different. Reading on config SATA in the BIOS screen, it seemed that from the right config for SATA AHCI. So I switched it to AHCI, but when I tried to start, I had a boot error. Then I turned on the config SATA RAID but always had a boot error! I had to remove the second HARD drive to start.

I use Windows 7 Pro and BIOS A23 and setting SATA options are none, ATA AHCI and RAID ON.

It really seems there must be a SATA configuration that is suitable for 2 different types of HARD drive without the configuration in RAID and the RAID config advice whenever I start.

Does anyone have suggestions on what should be my settings?

    Thank you

I found the answer here answers.microsoft.com/.../4c94f678-6bd1-48a6-b871-8872c841023a

in a post by O. Bilal on 03/11/2010. I made the registry changes, he suggested, and it worked.

I bought the pc with a clean install of Windows 7 Pro (I mentioned the OS in my post) but I don't know if the BIOS settings were left by a person without a SSD, or if they lack of RAID.

I tried to remove this thread after I found the answer, but couldn't; and it may help someone else anyway.

    Thanks for your reply.

  • Portege M400 - cannot install Windows XP on the new HARD drive

    Hello here is my problem,

I bought an older Portegre M400 E, without a HARD drive. So I buy a new Samsung 400 GB. I looked in the Bios (ACPI BIOS Version 3.40) and it is ok. He shows me the HARD drive with built in Assign LD - 0 status ONLINE, 400 GB size so it seems to be nice. Changed the matrix Raid, described in the manual, in condition to create 1Raid-0
So, I want to boot from the Windows XP CD, not recovering my own.

Windows open to the top and after a short period, the installation ends with the message that it is not any HARD drive. This I try sometimes :-( Hope someone can help me.
Do not forget that I didn't have any HARD disk with the dates of the laptop.

    > Changed the matrix Raid, described in the manual, in condition to create 1Raid-0

I don't know much about your model, but I think that something wrong with the raid in the Bios settings. What other options are available in the Bios for the State of the hard drive? I found the RAID driver on the Toshiba driver page. It is possible, that you can integrate in with a program called nlite Windows installation disc or install Windows as in compatibility mode, and install the Raid driver. then

  • Tecra S3: Installation of Vista does not recognize the HARD drive

I try to install Vista Ultimate on my Tecra S3, but installation does not recognize the HARD drive.

I tried to find the driver for Vista for my computer, but not found RAID.
Tried it with XP drivers, but no longer works.

Do you have an idea where I can download Vista drivers for RAID?

    THX

    Hello

Your suggestion is good. The Tecra S3 supports the RAID, and the RAID driver is required to install the OS on the HARD drive.
On the European driver Toshiba page I found a RAID for XP driver.

I put t know if this driver will run under Vista, but I recommend to test.
The RAID XP 1.3.8.0 driver version can be downloaded from this site:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp?service=EU

Please note; You can store the RAID driver on an external USB and Vista should recognize it!

I tried to install UAA audio bus driver first and then the driver of HDTV LSI etc. but still no sound. I spent several hours on this subject...

Peut - some kind soul please direct me on how to go about this case?

I remember that I was in a similar situation some two years back in an attempt to re - install Windows XP on another laptop from my friend. We install everything except the audio. Finally, the technician at the shop could install for us. Now I'm away from the place... So can not go and find out that the man how it install it. It was also a HP laptop only...

I would like to add that the mute button stays red and does not respond when you press.

There is nothing about Audio in Device Manager... Maybe that's the problem.

Please check first that link written by Joshua Wood and concentrate on problems that may appear when you install the sound card in it. I don't know then it's dv5 guide, but a lot of hardware and drivers are the same for both models.

When you install a sound driver with checking the success is your sound work.

If there is no sound after reboot check this thread. There is information how to fix this problem.

  • Installation of Windows server 2008 on Poweredge R320

    Hello everyone

We bought a new Poweredge R320 server in order to install 64-bit Windows Server R2. There are 2 drives inside and they are preconfgured as raid1.

I changed the configuration of SATA in RAID mode and also initialized by PERC-H310 RAID1 without any problem. When the server starts up, I see the following messages.

We found no Raid 0 disks

1 Vitrual disk (s) were found.

I can boot from the windows media but no disks are found and is prompting me to browse and install the drivers from nesseray. So I downloaded

SAS Raid drivers from this link: ftp://ftp.dell.com/Pages/Drivers/poweredge-r320.html#Drivers%20for%20OS%20Deployment

Windows 2008 R2 64 Bit driver for controllers in PERC H310/H710/H710P/H810
Windows 2008 R2 64 Bit driver for controllers in PERC H310/H710/H710P/H810
    Recommended 5.2.220.64 18/10/2012 Windows
    Windows Server 2008 R2

The name of the file is: DRVR_WIN_M20VR_5.2.220.64_A02_ZPE.exe

I extracted the contents of a USB, restarted the server and when you are prompted for drivers during the windows installation, I traveled to USB which 2 files are found.

    nodev.inf

    percsas.inf

I tried both of them, but every time I get a message saying to make sure that the correct drivers are found. It seems that is not the correct drivers.

Could be he you please direct me to the correct drivers? Or if you have any suggestions please let me know.

    Thank you very much

    Goudeuk

Even I have the same problem... Can anyone suggest a solution?

    Thank you

    Scott

  • ASA software order of operations

I'm trying to find a graph or something that identifies the order of operations what ASA cross when traffic passes through the appliance. I found different info already, but nothing him explained me the specific point, the decision is made to not let traffic pass interface more high level of confidence to interface low enough level of trust. When she assesses levels of security access lists? When does a decision of routing security levels.

    Thanks for any info

    Here is an example:

    fwasa01 # entry packet - map out tcp 5.5.5.5 1024 172.16.64.101 22

    Phase: 1

    Type: FLOW-SEARCH

    Subtype:

    Result: ALLOW

    Config:

    Additional information:

Not found no corresponding stream, creating a new stream

    Phase: 2

    Type:-ROUTE SEARCH

    Subtype: entry

    Result: ALLOW

    Config:

    Additional information:

    in 172.16.64.0 255.255.240.0 inside< routing="" wants="" to="" route="" the="" packet="" from="" outside="" to="">

    Phase: 3

    Type: ACCESS-LIST

    Subtype:

    Result: DECLINE

    Config:

    Implicit rule< outside="" interface="" has="" an="" inbound="" acl="" which="" doesn't="" mention="" "172.16.64.0"="" network,="" so="" the="" implicit-deny="" will="" drop="">

    Additional information:

    Result:

    input interface: outdoors

    entry status: to the top

    entry-line-status: to the top

    the output interface: inside

the status of the output: to the top

    output-line-status: to the top

    Action: drop

Drop-reason: flow (acl-drop) is denied by the configured rule

So to answer your question, when the packet flows of low trust in the high level of confidence it goes like this:

    1 course

    2. check the ACL< if="" no="" match,="" drop.="" acl="" is="" required="" if="" going="" from="" low-trust="" to="" high-trust.="" if="" no="" acl="" is="" configured,="" and="" this="" is="" inbound="" session,="" the="" packet="" is="" dropped.="" acl="" is="" not="" required="" if="" going="" from="" high-trust="" to="">

    3. If nat-control is disabled (default): try to find nat/static flow correspondence or existing (there are a few things here depending on where the session initiated from), if no nat found config found, send the package without nat

3B. If nat-control is activated: there must be existing or nat/static flow

There are other components, but these are the most important

    Kind regards

    Roman
