Persistent remnants of the Officejet 5610 software after many attempts of uninstalling

A number of times now, I tried to uninstall my 5610 printer and every time it looks as if everything was correctly deleted (done uninstall it using the CD to install my original printer, Web site HP & Control Panel Add/Remove).

Each time then continued with an installation clean & all look good except that the printer solution Center window is completely empty and the printer doesn't at all.

After a struggle huge I can define the problem as follows... after 'successful' UNINSTALL, I found that if:

  • I go to the Windows Start menu and then to list programs, there is no indication of anything other than HP IMAGE ZONE EXPRESS & HP Tower Software HP 5610 software.   When I click to go to the Tower of S/W just get a white screen but the area of the Image seems to work ok.
  • Go to the control panel and from the all programs list in Add or remove - all related printer HP programs including printer 5610 drivers seem to be present despite previous successful uninstallation.  So try to REMOVE here the window flashes but then nothing happens.  All entries are always present.

Have tried to use a registry software (CCleaner) to deal with an orphan registry entries and then tried to uninstall again.  Useless!

Have tried to restore my PC for a number of what I thought, it was own restore points but no help at all.  The problem persists.

Unfortunatelt do not have access to any guy IT companies & have exhausted the knowledge base of friends.

Any HELP is welcome.

Welcome to the HP Forums!

I understand that your software is not completely uninstalled.

I would try a level three uninstall. Found in this guide. Fatal error ' error 1155. Not found. "(Error 1155 MSI) displays during the Installation of the software in Windows XP."

If this does not work, try Microsoft Fix It to uninstall.

    If you Search the forums for "Failed to connect to the virtual after 25 attempts printer daemon", the first result from that moment is Re: unable to connect to the printer via ThinPrint error: "serial0: unable to connect to the virtual printer daemon after 25 attempts." The unit will cut'. In this thread, mudaltsov follows the problem down to one/etc/printcap needless - move which should solve the problem.

  • Officejet 5610 software will not work

    I am very disappointed with Hp. I was not able to get the option to scan of "solution Center" to work, because they 'upgrade' worm 13.

    The HPISCNAPP program works very well, so I have to assume that something is messed up in the code. Of course HP is not willing to shoot this very disturbed because the material is no longer under warranty.

    I am running this on a quad core AND with 12 GB of ram on windows 7 ultimate.

    While I'm here I also want to mention that I've updated the software for a photosmart 4780 the other day and the maintained installation failed because the downlaoder saves a file in the folder temp under a name then the installer has searched for the file under a different name and of course could not find. When I renamed the file to match the name of the installer was looking for her has worked well. I think it's extremely sloppy programming and work problems. Good job HP

    Problem with monitor switch off automatically on start up.

    YOU really need first to establish that your monitor isn't the problem here, before starting troubleshooting upstream (your video card driver could be the next logical step).

    Awkward though it may be, you must first get your checked monitor.  If you don't have a friend or acquaintance who might be able to help, a local computer store would be a logical starting point.

    I started this thread on the debate under of the "Fusion free v2.0.3" but Michael suggested I post this as a new thread, because it turns out that my problem was not due to the much discussed most recent update security Max OS causing ThinPrinting to break.  Whenever I have start up of my (Win XP and Windows 7) VM beta I get the above error message, and therfore cannot take advantage of the ability of merger of ThinPrint print on my printer Mac network.  Michael asked several log files, I have attached 3 in this post and others attached to my next post, so I hope you smart people of VMWare will be able to help me with this problem.  Thanks in advance!

    I got a response from ThinPrint with a possible solution - the problem may come from a file/etc/printcap obsolete, which refers to a computer that no longer exists. The DNS lookup may be a delay of 30 seconds and can block the process of thnuclnt. The file/etc/printcap file contains a copy of the configuration of the printer, but it is not necessary for the thnuclnt. It is generally not yet created by OS X by default, but it seems that previous updates to the OS X system or printer drivers can be turned on at any given time. Subsequently, the option got turned off, but the old file was left with outdated information.

    Could you try to rename the file/etc/printcap file and see if it eliminates the delay of 30 seconds? To do this, run Terminal and use the following command:

    sudo mv/etc/printcap /etc/printcap.bak

    I have read the instructions and tried several times to elements of d/l 11 reinstall on my new computer after the old man completely died.  I do everything on the list carefully, and then finish with a 1.2 MB download that says there is a file 'install adobe' Windows 8 has no idea what to do with.  Can anyone suggest what I do wrong?  Otherwise, I guess I'll have to have my son send me the installation discs for 500 miles away.

    Tried to implement everything. Need for new perspective or someone just told me that the printer/scanner is not taken in charge any longer.

    Recently updated to OS 10.8.5 as well as extra memory.

    Have scanner only for the work of the company.

    The scanner just stopped working after update of HP software. I don't remember version. Nevertheless, today I removed all HD and started around, but nothing works.

    Start over means, I downloaded a new driver and the patch.

    Using a HP scanning Application. Now that the application does not appear even on the computer.

    Let's start with some basic questions and then go from there:

    Neither HP or HP scanning Application utility are now on the hard disk after you follow the instructions from HP to delete.

    What I need the original disks and to reinstall the software from it or can those be online?

    Tried this approach (see link), but the all-in-one Officejet 5610 is not listed. I suspect the printer/scanner in is no longer supported?

    I understand how to use of Apple's Image Capture application as a workaround. Not as friendly as HP Scan.

    Unless someone can tell me the HP and HP Scan utility always work in OS 10.8.5 for the 5100, I guess that will be sufficient.

    I'm afraid that the Officejet 5610 AiO is not a network model. To be more specific you want to change the IP address of the device.

  • Officejet 5610 doesn't scan - no error - no indication of a problem - just locks upward.

    The Officejet 5610 left scanning.  There is no error message, it just hangs.  I have the latest version of the driver and I also have a Scanjet 4890 on the same computer that scans very well.  The 4890 just is not all of the features that the 5610 has for scanning.

    Anyone know of a solution?

    Problem solved.

    I've found the workaround.

    1. go on devices & Printers

    2. right click on the HP 5610 printer icon

    3. Select start analysis and define the profile

    4. start the scan.

    It runs as it should.

    If I use the charger, I have to cancel the automatic HP Solution Center that appears, because that's where the problem lies.
