  Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! I see that you have recently upgraded to Windows 10 operating system and you stumbled upon a matter of scanning with your HP Photosmart B110a. You have uninstalled the software, now, when you try to reinstall the printer, you get a MSI error message.

  Please, try disabling your firewall and running the installation to see if it allows you to install, if this does not work try a clean boot and re run the HP printer install wizard for Windows , it was created to help Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1 and 10 users to download and install the latest and most appropriate HP software solution for their HP printer.

  If you still run into installation errors, continue here: a "Fatal Error" (error MSI) is displayed on the computer while installing the HP Windows software

• Windows Fax and Scan cannot detect Photosmart C4580 all-in-1 scanner connected to the wireless network

  I have no problem printing or scanning when I connect my C4500 to PC via USB.  When connected via my home wireless router I can print OK but can not scan - it's the same for other users and computers.  Windows Fax and Scan gives me the message 'no scanner found. '  I need to work so that all users on my netwrok home can share the scanner.  I use Windows 7 64-bit.

  Thanks Travis_C (HP).  I actually found the solution just before receiving your answer!  I discovered that, although the Solution Center says it would uninstall the existing files before allowing me to reinstall with the latest version downloaded, it didn't remove all the files.  I only discovered this because the new facility has not taken me through the whole fresh installation procedure, he simply asked me what additional features I wanted to install and asked me if I wanted a local printer or network etc.

  I thought that there must be a mistake or problem with whatever existing files were left and the new facility would not correct it.  So I used the control panel to uninstall the existing files, and I made sure that everything was gone.  I then used the last download to reinstall, this time through the new correct installation procedure, and everything now works perfectly.

  With this method I always had a problem on another PC, giving me the same problem I had before.  I realized that this was due to a USB dongle connected to the PC to a wireless keyboard that seems to affect the installation.  When I removed the dongle installation worked again perfectly, and I now have full printing and scanning ability on all PCs.

  I think the installer for this printer wireless (and perhaps others?) should be updated to solve the problem, and also the center of Solution must be fixed to ensure that if you uninstall the software it should not leave anything.

  From the desktop, hold down the Windows key and press R.  In the run window, type services.msc and press to enter.  Scroll down to the print spooler service, right click and select Properties, then click the Stop button.  Now search for C:\Windows\System32\Spool\PRINTERS, then delete the work inside this folder - you may need to click a command prompt to get the authority to open the PRINTERS folder.

  Restart the computer and you should find that the document has been deleted.

  HP Photosmart 6520e - when I try to print photos from the tray photo here is what is happening. I empty the 8 1/2 X 11 (big) paper tray pull the photo tray properly load 4 X 6 photo paper and close the guides for focus media. Push the tray (s). When I try to print, I get the message that it is paper. EVERY TIME!

  If I load photo paper in the paper tray size, Center it with the guides and close the bins it will now display the peak (s). But it won't print from the photo tray, said always with paper. Prints only from the main paper tray. What's wrong?

  I would like to help you today with the message 'in paper' that you get on your Photosmart HP 6520 e-all-in-one printer when trying to print photos from your Windows Vista computer to the photo tray. I understand that you are able to print from the main tray end, and you load properly all of your photo paper in the photo tray. At this point, it does not sound like a configuration problem on the computer. You usually have to "say" what paper tray it will be the power to the printer through your print dialog box. If the tray is always set to the main desktop tray when you want to print from the photo tray this will result in a "paper" message like your printer "think" it is supposed to print from your main tray empty. Please follow the steps below to make sure everything is set as it is supposed to be.

  For your reference I'll start providing you with the "loading paper" documentation for your product. This documentation is also useful if you decide to print envelopes as well.

  2. Click on all programs
  3. Select Windows Photo Gallery
  4. When Windows Photo Gallery opens, choose the image you want to print
  5. On the toolbar click print, and then click print again
  6. In the print pictures dialog box, select the printer, paper size, print quality, print system, and number of copies to print.
  7. Click on the Options at the bottom right for additional print options. Ensure that the paper tray is set to the Photo tray.

  Once the adjustment options and the plateau have been confirmed as being correct, please try to print.

According to the brouchere that I received with the 6520, it seems that I need to install the complete software of the printer and go to the "Print & Scan" tab to install eFax. I don't want to install the software.

  I can't have the answser - I hope that I can understand the question.

  I think that the problem is that you might have changed the settings for the installation of the printer color management.  It is very good for Photoshop - not so great for Windows and the rest of the Windows world.

  I understand that just a little of what you're doing - and NONE of this in the language in which your images show the question.

  Control Panel > set view icon > Color Managment >

  Under devices (drop down menu) > select your printer >

  Here's where it can get "weird"... If the printer has been set to 'use my settings.

  If the printer is configured for other than 'Auto', then things may not work as you expect / want.

  I have HP Image Zone to work with Windows 7.

  1 login as administrator

  2. load installation CD.  Find setup.exe, do a right click, select troubleshoot compatibility.  Accept the XP mode.

  3. start the program.

  4. it takes some time to install the program.  Be patient.

  5 ignore all messages that the program may not have install correctly.

  6. once the program is loaded, click Next and save the settings.  Ingore the error messages.

  Once the program is loaded, you can copy the shortcut (s) of the Office of the administrator to other users or just create a new shortcut.

  "they have installed?  You had somebody "clean" your computer and they have also installed Windows XP (you used to have Windows 2000)?

  The first thing you need to do is to determine if 'they' a legitimate version of Windows XP installed.  Download and run the MGADiag tool.  If the tool does not report that Windows is "genuine", take back it the computer and demand that 'they' install an authentic version, paid Windows XP.  While they are at it, tell them to install a driver for your HP Deskjet F300.

  You have several choices to this page.

  • The top line, which only says: 'Pilot' is the complete set of software including software HP's Photosmart printer drivers and the scanner of your Deskjet.  As the HP notes, this is a very large download, so if you want this package, you must have a high-speed Internet connection or order the CD.
  • The second line, which says "Driver - Product Installation software" includes the basic print and scan drivers.  HP has said, "not all product features are supported with this installation package."  I don't know what "features" are not supported if you choose this option.
  • It should not necessary the "Patch" because or the other of the first two downloads is dated after the patch and so should be included.  After things are installed, you can download and install the most recent of the 3 "Updates".

  When you wrote that the printer "will not work" after a new installation of Windows XP, I assume that the printer is not installed at all.  Just in case, however, previously, you use the package that you download from HP, follow the instructions here to clean all traces of a failed attempt to install it.  (Note: remember "Step 4".)  "Step 6" refers to the directions outlined in the upper part of this post.)

• C6180, Windows 7 and new software

  I have a C6180 all-in-One.  Connected by ethernet.  This printer worked very well with the help of: Linux (HPLIP and Vista 64-bit (on a HP Pavilion) with the accompanying software.

  I just updated to Windows 7 Home premium 64-bit flag.

  I install the new software on the HP site and everything seems to install properly on the 2nd try.

  Using the HP Solution Center, I can print a test page, the page appears momentarily in the Windows spooler and prints.  No problem

  However. If I try to print anything froma Windows app and I have tried Notepad as the utility more simple W7 and legacy Word 2002 document appears in the Windows spooler, appears to print but nothing prints.

  I suspect that it is a problem of W7 UPGRADE and I asked on the forums of MS of W7 but I'll ask here, just in case there is a problem of HP somehow.

  Yes the photosmart d6100 pilot found in windows 7 will work for the printing part and the photosmart C6100 will work for the analysis and all the rest. Just put the two on the same port and set the D6100 as default printer.
