  • HP Photosmart C4180 printer and HP Solution Center

    Bought new HP 3500 Pro tour MT series to replace the old tower HP Windows XP.  To use the HP Photosmart C4180 printer that I used with the old tower and have available HP solutions Center.   Data has been transferred from the old disk to the new HP Tower.  Then, I downloaded the printer driver and connected using the USB cable.  The printer will now print and scan but I can't find the HP Solution Center software that I used previously during scanning and photo editing.  I do not remember if I made a basic or complete installation install the driver.  If I do a basic installation and is not software for Solution Center, should I uninstall and reinstall the drivers for this function to work?  Would appreciate a step by step help to solve this problem.  Thank you very much.

    It's very strange that you do not see your printer listed in the list of programs (non - it would not be the framework of Solutions from HP Support).  This leads me to believe that your printer is not actually installed.  If that were the case, you should see something like this (note that I have more printers installed as a regular user )

    So you do not see your HP Photosmart C4180 listed here, then I would go and try to install the full driver.  The instructions in my previous post would be the same, but since you have Windows 7, it would be the right document to guide you through the steps.

I would like you to go ahead and start here: how Scan: Windows 7, remember that you must have the full feature software and drivers installed and use the HP Solution Center. Once on this page, please select the way to scan with HP software and select the multi documents page.

  • HP Photosmart C4180: B82C3ED8 Error Message

    My printer has stopped printing and displays B82C3ED8 error message.  Cartridges seem to be stuck more to the left.  I tried to turn off for a while the freezer, then switching all under tension, but nothing's changed.  I can't find any references to this error message - can anyone help?

  • Photosmart C4180: inkjet has ended unexpectedly and failure to communicate

    Printer has worked well in the past - HP Photosmart C4180 and Imac which has been restarted and the latest OS... Then started to receive two messages ' inkjet ended unexpectedly "which has been applied by a queue in the control panel of the printer that there was a communication failure. Try again, same thing happens

    Whenever I try to print now either completely blocks and I try again, or it prints the first three lines, springs from the page, and then treat send individual sheets with a few lines of gobblegook - until what I finished printing.

    This went on and turned off, very very annoying, sometimes it works after a few attempts, then not. Got it to work for a few weeks, now back with a VENGEANCE > have uninstalled, restarted through the Mac or Power Mac and a printer, tried different threads to find out what the problem is all... now angry... HELP PLEASE

    I stumbled upon your thread and read your messages on printing problems you have with your Photosmart C4180 connected to your iMac running 10.11 and wanted to respond with my own suggestions that might help. As I'm not sure if the problem is hardware or software related, we will touch both categories when troubleshooting.

    Allows to test the equipment, perform a hard reset and make sure that the printer is plugged directly into a wall jack, then make a copy of the front of the printer. This does not involve the computer somehow and will show us if there is a problem with the hardware with the device.

    Reset:
    With the printer, unplug the power cord at the back of the unit.
    Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
    Wait at least 15 seconds.
    Plug the power cord into the wall outlet.
    Reconnect the power cord to the back of the unit.
    If the printer does not by itself, press the Power button to turn it on.
    Make a copy.

    If the copies are all problems, fill me in what you see coming and all errors you might encounter in.

    If copies are fine, the problem is software related on the iMac somewhere, try these steps according to the computer:

    1. Reset the printing system
    2. Restart the Mac.
    3. Follow this guide: Printers HP - install Mac printer driver using Apple Software Update
    4. In addition, to download this driver: HP v3.1 for OS X printer drivers
    5. Try to print some of the different applications and let me know which you tested from and outcomes.

    I just bought a new computer with windows 7 and tried to install my photosmart C4180 printer but I have the installation cd is for windows 2000 or xp.  Is there something I can download where it will install with windows 7?

    When I want to print or scan the message "cannot print or scan" and "Scanner failure" happens...»

    When I try to print the document will go to half way and then stops, same message arrives...

    If I want to download and print something good, the printer works!... but again if I try to scan something then it does not work...

    It happened all of a sudden, the printer and the computer have also worked well until this happened.

    I may be low on ink, two symbols like a candle flame, are at the bottom left screen, but a copy or scanning must always be possible even if faded, or...?

    Tried unplugging everything, but no luck...

    Since you said you the error message scanner failure, first try to make a copy and see if the belt scanner moves (moves the light) while copying.

    If the light does not move that it's hardware, you will need to service the printer please call hp tech support.

  • PhotoSmart C4180: HP Solution Center

    The "HP Solutions Center" will not be open. When I double click on the desktop icon, it blinks but turns off immediately.

    I used it successfully on Wndows 10 since I upgraded to win 8 to 8.1, and then to 10.

    Should I remove all the HP printer and reinstall from scratch? I felt for a long time. First installed on Windows Vista. Never no problem until today when tried to do a scan.

    Solution found: I uninstalled Windows Update KB3132372 and now the Solutions Center works again.

    HP will speak to MS?

    Now, I need to understand how 'hide' the update in Windows 10 so it isn't automatically install again.

    I don't remember updates Windows, causing problems with other programs in previous Versions of Windows.

    The following text appears on the Microsoft Support Forum:

    KB3132372 update has been installed on three of my system windows 10 yesterday. So, when I try to open the HP Solution Center that allows me to print and scan on my HP printer, it tries to open but closes immediately. I uninstalled KB3132372 on both systems and the HP Solution Center opens successfully. Installed again updated and the HP Solution Center would not open again.

    These effects my ability to use my scanner/printer.

    Is there a way to permanently uninstall this update automatically installs once again, or a difficulty, I can do?

  • HP Photosmart C4180 all in question a cartridge

    I need assistance with my printer.  Before changing the cartridge, my printer started printing in black and pink only.  So, I bought a combo with a #95 pack & cartridge one #98 in the pack with an end date of warranty to April 2011. I only replaced the cartridge three colors (#95) given that black was still used. When I close the door of ink cartridge, I immediately get an error "ink cartridge problem: remove and check color cartridge '. I put the old cartridge and the error disappears. I tried to clean the printer, cartridge, etc with no luck.  My OS is Windows Vista, service pack 1.  I have had no changes to the operating system at the start of this problem. Short buying new printer cartridges, I thought I would check with you that I wouldn't have to spend the extra money because the cartridge is defective.

    Tell them clearly that the printer works fine with another cartridge and not with this one. The question therefore with the cartridge and not the printer. So the printer warranty does not come in the picture and the fact of the guarantee of the cartridge. Ask them to replace it and if it doesn't, ask to speak to a supervisor.

    I know I have an old printer/scanner, but I hope that this unit has the ability to scan multiple pages into a single document?

  • Problem cartridge on a HP Photosmart C4180 all-in-one.

    The light flashes and the message says "ink cartridge problem...". Remove and check cartridge on the right... Refer to printer documentation ".» I removed the color and black cartridges and putting back them and the light continues to blink. When I got out them, it seems that I saw little ink below from whence they came. The color cartridge is new, but black is a few months old, but I've not seen a low ink warning. Should I buy one new cartridge black or is - this another problem?

    This gives a test:

    Powered up, remove the cartridges. Ensure not to spill ink where you set the down temporarily. Leave the door open and remove the power cord from the printer, once again while it is still powered. Wait at least 30 seconds, while waiting to see if you can sop delicately part of ink of the stalls with something as a buffer. Then reconnect the power cord to the printer and turn it on. Install each cartridge one at a time, close the lid between each of them and waiting for recognition of each by the printer.

    It is possible that the black cartridge could have sunk to the void, then it can be replaced. It is also possible that the ink flowed could interfere with the electrical contacts, that's why I suggested to clean this area. Hope that helps.

    Re-installing your software and drivers will not solve the problem. It is a hardware problem with the printer itself?
