  Make sure that your print spooler service is started.

  At this point, on your computer, check the status of the print spooler service. Restart the print spooler services.

  a. Click Start, type services.msc and press ENTER.
  b. scroll down to print spooler.
  c. start the print spooler service.

  Although my printer works fine for printing and copying, I get error messages when I try to scan by pressing the button or by using the HP software

  I use the HP Photosmart C4280 all-in-one with a MacBook OSX 10.5.7 running

  I connect to the printer with a USB cable and have used the two USB ports to make sure that this isn't a wobbly port.

  When I push the scan from the printer button, HPScan starts, then an error message is displayed: The HP Communications Application does not run.
  When I run ScanPro the following error message: Sorry, scanner could not be initialized.

  I already downloaded and installed the latest printer driver.

  Any help would be greatly appreciated. My latest project continues upward while I try to scan to run.

  We will restore the print system:

  -Go to System Preferences > Print & Fax
  -Right (or control) click in the rectangle listing your printers and select Reset Printing System.
  WARNING - This will remove ALL your printers!
  -Select the sign more to add a printer. Search for the printer, select it, and wait until the button 'Add' becomes available. Until it clicks.

  I see you want to use the features of printing and scanning of your HP Photosmart C4280 all-in-One Printer on your computer Windows 10. I want to help you with this today. I'm happy to announce that the full feature software and drivers are available for your printer!  Just pilots have not yet been added under Windows 10 drop-down list on our Web site. However, I will you link to the driver package to install your printer. Please follow the steps below.

  If you use a USB connection between your computer and the printer please unplug this cable now.

  Step 1: Remove the printer:

  We want a clean slate to install your printer on the computer Windows 10. Therefore, I will you ensure that no trace of your HP Photosmart camera does not currently installed on your computer.

  1. click on the Start button

  

  2. type programs and features. If a search does not start automatically, you will need to type programs and features in the area of "Ask Me anything".

  3. click on programs and features to launch the window.

  4. in programs and features, will populate a list of the programs installed on your computer. Please scroll down and find your Camera HP Photosmart. If you see your HP Photosmart listed, click on it and choose Uninstall.

  5 follow the prompts on the screen to complete the uninstallation. Once the uninstall is complete successfully please close programs and features.

  6. then, click on the menu start of new

  7. this time type devices

  8 click on devices and printers to launch the window.

  

  9. in devices and printers are looking for your Camera HP Photosmart. If you see if if please right click above and choose 'Remove' or 'Remove'.

  10. Once your HP Photosmart camera is like showing in devices and printers please click on any device in the list of Printers once just to highlight. Click the print server properties on top

  

  11. click on the drivers tab

  12. search for your HP Photosmart driver. If the list, please click it and choose delete

  13. Select delete the driver only

  14. Select OK

  15 click apply and OK in the print server properties window.

  16. close devices and printers. Please proceed to the next step.

  Step 2: Install the device:

  1. Please click here to download the full functionality of the software and the driver for your printer
  2. Once the download is complete, follow the prompts on the screen to install your printer
  3. If you use a USB cable connection, leave the disconnected cable until the installation program prompts you to connect

  Once installation is complete, please try printing and scanning.

  After I've upgraded to Windows 10, I downloaded the HP software and re-installed my ols HP Photosmart C4280 all-in-One Printer, which works very well.  But now, I can't find a way to run wizard printer.  I want to scan a document, and there is no icon on the desktop to start the software.  Anyone know where I can find the Printer Wizard file to run in order to run this software and create a desktop icon?

  Error when extracting downloaded the installer for HP Photosmart c4280 all-in-one. Operating system is Windows 7 Home Premium on a new series of Lenovo's H4.

  The CD of HP usually have a scrubber on it which removes all traces of the HP software installed on your computer.

  The steps below

  1. Insert the CD in the drive and then cancel Setup
  2. open my computer and click right then on the CD from the drive and select open
  3 open the Util folder
  4 open the CCC folder
  5. If you have an HP computer, run the L3uninstall.bat. If you have a computer not HP, run the L4uninstall.bat
  6. once the uninstall is complete, restart the computer
  7 run the Accessories\ System Tools Disk Cleanup
  8. download and install the latest version of Adobe flash player
  http://get.Adobe.com/flashplayer/

  Once you uninstall everything that we need all reinstall. Because Windows 7 came out after that the printer was manufactored that not all CD come with Windows 7 drivers. I would recommend going back to the Windows 7 install I quoted above to reinstall once you have uninstalled everything.

  Let me know the results once you have done this.

  I recently changed in the course of an older PC using Vista Windows 8.1 a new unit.  I downloaded and installed the latest software and drivers from the HP support site and can print documents and photos.

  However, everything I print seem to have a green tint, pictures are green and when I print in black and white, the color of any text is printed in green and when I print in color, red fate yellow, etc.

  Can anyone suggest what is the problem?

  From your description, it seems that this quality problem of barely since the upgrade to Windows 8.1. Colors appear turned off when you copy to? From my understanding of the issue, I suspect that the following document will be more useful; HP Photosmart C7100 Series all-in-One - color wrong.

  I just hung this printer that was given to me (but without the installation disk or manual).  Scanning and direct printing on the printer do not seem to be a problem, but I can not "copy" on the printer.  The copy comes out just of Virgin.

  I saw your post on the blank copies of your Photosmart C4280 and wanted to tender hand to help you with my own suggestions. Personally, I think it might be a problem with ink cartridge, so you would recommend that you try the steps from the link I posted for you below. Also make sure that the printer is plugged directly into a wall outlet, avoiding bars power and surge protectors.

  Well Yes, that's the proof that you have old HP software out there.  Let the Snow Leopard to install Rosetta (it should do if you say its OK).

  My printer keeps using ink photo instead of the printer ink, but it seems to me impossible to change. I found a solution somewhere on the forum to check the box "use black ink only" in preferences > advanced > grey but it is not this option in the Dutch version...

  I have already tried several things: cleaning the printerheads, handed over to defaultsettings, try changing preferences with the HP ePrint, printermaintanence of the printingheads and cartridge, etc...

  I stumbled on your post about how you cannot select this option to print in "black ink only" when you try to change the settings of the printer for you Photosmart C6380 and I wanted to answer. Although I'm not familiar with the Dutch language, I suggest you make sure you download and install the full feature software and driver on your computer to have access to all the options of the printer.

  If that does not give you the option of selecting black ink only, then I would recommend contacting HP directly to see if a technical support representative can connect remotely to your computer to help others.

• Want to 120 all-in-One - can't get color print?

  Working with a device like 120 all-in-One using Mac OS 10.9.  Whenever I try to print, the paper is still in black and white.  I guess I have some defect on but can't find it to correct.

  It happened when we bought first the HP device, running an earlier version of Mac OS.  Just downloaded the driver for Maverick, and I thought that would fix the problem - she didn't.

  I understand that you don't get any color on your impressions using the Mavericks OS X do you uninstall the previous software before using the Maverick update software? I would like you to take a look at OS X Mavericks v10.9: installing and using the printer on a Mac.

  If you did all the steps listed in this document and the color is always outside, please look at the suggestions on the Forums of Support from Apple. It seems that installation of the Gutenprint driver corrects the color on the issue.
