• Photosmart C7180 printing problem

  So, here's a strange, my Photosmart C7180 age of 9 months has developed a bad habit to print all pages in landscape mode. I used the printer almost daily for 9 months, but 2 days ago I started to notice this weird quirk when printing multiple-page documents. I can't verify what may have triggered (this software or an OS update) because it is possible that I haven't printed documents several pages for a few weeks. I checked for the OS/App/Firmware updates and checked that I have the latest drivers and software. I restarted the two systems and reset the default settings for the printer.

  I can print a single page in Portrait mode, but if I have 3 pages print the 2nd page comes out in landscape. I can print the 2nd page individually and it is fine. It happens that I print from Microsoft Word, or even if you use the Microsoft Photo Editor or HP Photosmart software.

  I use the TCP/IP connection to print from my laptop Microsoft XP (even though I just checked that this happens when you use Bluetooth as well).

  Everyone knows it or have one could explain why it seems to be possesed?

  try turning off the advanced printer printing functionality

  > Control Panel

  > Printers and faxes

  > right-click your printer icon by default which is c7180

  > select Properties

  > click on Advanced tab in the Properties window

  > uncheck the box saying ACTIVATE a FEATURE of PRINTING ADVANCES

  > hit apply, then press ok.

  > then try to print your documents

  Found. Settings, scan settings, scan to... Configuration, settings button, buttons search for the solution Center, manage shortcuts scan... and then create new shortcuts in the folder of your choice!

• Photosmart C7180 on Windows 7 x 64: big problems

  My Photosmart C7180 faithful went to a near-useless state because I attach to my new desktop running Windows 7 x 64.  I am connected via a wired/usb connection cable. Some of these new antics include:

  • Said solution center it is disconnected when it is not
  • The scanner does not work
  • When I try to print a doc, I receive a partial copy of the doc, plus 5 or 6 sheets of paper with a few random characters, printed at the top.

  I've installed, uninstalled, and reinstalled the latest version of the software as downloaded from the website (v 13.1.0) far too many times.  This does nothing.

  I ran the HP print and scan doctor... the print side says that it works very well (it isn't). the analysis option fails on the driver record, saying that "the scanning driver is unable to communicate with the product.  I followed the instructions to unplug the printer, reconnect, restart the computer several times... even once, it does nothing.

  Anyone out there have any suggestions, other than to transport this thing to the recycling center?

  I would try possibly using another method of connection. Maybe it's the USB cord that is defective. If you have another cord try that, or you can try to set up the printer on your network using a wired Ethernet connection.

  Try this and tell me how it turns out that!

  I have a Photosmart C7180 all-in-one printer. I just got a new laptop and am trying to install the printer driver. The Software Suite, has it that the base driver is not working? I don't know which one to install.

  If the full functionality for the printer software needs to be reinstalled afterwards, and you want to first remove the existing programs, take a look at the printer of will not print the document.

  The computer and the printer are turned on and connected.  The menu scan give 2 options of scan and reprint or scan to storage device.  In the past, I was always able to analyze the items to a file in the computer.  What should I do?

I would like to help you today with this problem of scan. The issue you are experiencing seems to be due to a problem of 'No Scan Options'. To solve this problem of menu scan can I please have you follow the steps below.

  To begin troubleshooting can I please have you click here. Once the support document opens, please follow the steps in the Solution, Solution two, and three and four Solution.   Recently I formatted my hard drive and reinstalled everything. I am running Windows XP Pro with SP3 and I downloaded the latest software for my all-in-one Photosmart C7180. I used to be able to scan a document to PDF using Adobe Standard 7, but I can turn it on is no longer. I uninstalled Adobe Standard 7 and installed Adobe Reader XI. Is it possible to scan a document to PDF using the Photosmart software Adobe Reader XI? I have not installed the OCR software, because I really feel that the OCR software is unreliable. I don't need to edit pdf documents or create them. I just want to be able to analyse any document as a pdf and then send the PDF as an attachment. When I open the HP Solution Center and choose to analyze a document, scan-to-pdf is not an option. I know there are a lot of free pdf programs scan, but before we go in this direction, I wanted to see if it is possible to use what I have already installed. Thank you.

  The HP software uses the OCR engine to scan in PDF format, if you choose not to install the OCR the PDF option won't be available.

  Run the installation of HP once more and select this option to add additional software.

  Install the OCR application and restart your PC.

  Now you should see the PDF (or PDF that does not actually use the component OCR but simply scan in PDF or searchable PDF as option available) while clicking on scan a Document from the HP Solution Center.

  Adobe Reader is a PDF reader and not a PDF editor like Adobe standard or Pro who provide capability of scanning their duties change.

  Thank you for the information. I want to clarify a few steps to see if we can rule out some possibilities.

  1. When you use the separate scanner, is also connected USB?

  2. If you disconnect the other scanner, turn off of the other scanner. The same thing happens?

  3. once the C7180 print slowly, what happens if you print the self-test and then make a copy of it? How long does it take?

  4. is the impression that is plugged into a wall outlet or a surge protector?

  5. If you have another USB cable, have you tried plugging in the printer with this cable? If so, do you still feel the same problem?

  6. What is the brand of the other scanner?

  I have a Photosmart C7180 all-in-One I've had for many years, with no problems.

  Now it's show the message "Wrong cartridge" - use the introductory cartridges that were shipped with your printer.

  As I have had this printer for many years, I have more Introduction cartridges so the machine can not currenty serving. I just put a full of brand new HP cartridges in the printer so would address the problem the printer rather than throw it away.

  Any help would be most welcome.

  Welcome to the HP Forums.

  I understand that you have a problem where your c7180 wants to install cartridges. I want to help you with this problem.

  Today the program installation, or introduction cartridges are not easy to find. Call to HP for a game is probably not an option that the printer is no longer supported.

  You printer had been implemented, but seems to have forgotten this fact. This looks like a firmware issue.

  I'll try first the troubleshooting questions ink cartridge .

  If this does not work, I would recommend a partial reset, or if it does not reset semi complete.

• Color printer HP Photosmart C7180 bad printing

  HP Photosmart C7180 printer does not print the correct colors. All color cartridges are ink. Self-test page print the shows reddish brown in black, dark blue area in zone yellow, nothing in the light areas of cyan, and cyan and clear blue stains in the light areas of magenta and magenta. All the printed words on the page are black.  The printer gives no error code word. The problem started by printing all color in green areas. The printer has a wireless connection for my HP computer, which is running MS Vista.

• Cannot run the Photosmart C7180 HP printing software

  Hi, I'm new here.

  I had been using the printer, and following a system failure and corruption of a couple of files, I had to download the operating system on the HP site.  When I tried to run the software, said that a more recent version is already installed on my system.  I deleted all HP components using the Add/Remove function on my control panel.

  The software still wouldn't go, indicating the same problem with a newer version,

  I have looke in the Program Files folder and found that the HP programs were not deleted and proceeded to delete them manually.  After the reboot, I still ran the files downloaded from HP and again received the same message on a newer version already on my system.

  I guess that somewhere there is a tag that should be deleted.  I am not a computer wizz so if anyone can suggest, where should I look?

  My system is a Win XP and is up to date, running on an Intel-based system.

  Well, good news.  I had the new program in place.  My problem was being too specific, trying to load one program for my C7180.  The solution was first to use the option to HP to check my system and to recommend and automatically download the appropriate program.

  He ended that there was a more recent software, which covered series printers Photosmart 7100 together.

  I have a 2006 iMac and a C7180 printer. They worked perfectly when I lived in California for 6 years. I am now the Philippine Islands and are unable to the printer. My iMac has got all the information from the printer. print a test page, but does not print print anything when I press. I think they detect each other wireless, but I can't make them work together now.

  I must have missed the Mac OS in your original post.  I'm sorry about that.

  I suggest to remove the printer from your printing system, using this document: uninstalling the software of the printer.

  Once you have deleted, I suggest to check and repair disk permissions: function to fix the permissions of all utility disk drive.

  I also run your Apple updates: OS x: Mac App Store apps and OS X update

  After the updates, I recommend to reinstall the drivers and software HP Photosmart full feature.

  I have a Photosmart all in last year, and it worked very well on my laptop under Windows XP and my desktop running Vista. A few months ago wireless to the printer stoped working all together.

  When I try to run the wireless network wizard in the configuration menu of the printer, it seeks a router but can't find one, I use the same router (Beling G MIMO 54 Mbit/s) as when the printer was first work and no settings have been changed. The router is within 5 feet of the printer and the printer indicates the blue wireless on the front light.

  I printed out a Test of the wireless network and "Radio On" appears as the COLLAR but "Radio working" is presented as FAIL

  Any help would be appreciated

  We will reset the printer before you declare us dead.  Turn off the printer, hold it # and 6 keys all restart.  Now, run the wireless test again.   If it fails this time, radio has failed.
