PIX, router/modem connection

My network need additional security. I replaced the previous firewall with the PIX 515E. Not connecting to the router (DLINK DSL-G604T), there is no communication. How can I solve the problem

What is the level of communication you have? Is this due to wiring problem (vs right croiseent UTP) or configuration?

Make sure you use crossover utp. If this is already in place, make sure the router interface both pix is mode active/unshut. Other than that, check the IP asigned to the router and PIX interfaces + netmask. Other than that, maybe, you will need to allow icmp router to reach pix off interface (or any interface that you connect to the router).

On the end of PIX, is on/flashing LED when you connect to the DLINK router?

  • Linksys E2500 connection to the router/Modem Combo?

I have a Linksys E2500 and I'm trying to connect to my service provider supplied router (Actiontec V1000H) because I wanted the best range and consistent connectivity for my 6 wireless devices.

My problem is that, to do this, I connected an ethernet cable from the yellow the E2500 internet port one of my V1000H LAN ports. This, however, did me not internet access even if the network for my E2500 was available in the network list and selected as the default network. I then had to go the the E2500 advanced and changed the IP address of the router from 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.2.2. This gave me internet access.

However, everyone I talked to including employees and experts at dslreports said that, because of what I did I put in place a double NAT with 2 potentially conflicting of IP addresses and on the road weird questions will arise because of this. They suggested that the E2500 connect to a modem dedicated to avoid this problem. However, the dedicated modem, that I was sent was defective and did not allow for access to the internet, even through the ethernet connection. So, until I get a new modem dedicated, I have to use the combo router/modem.

What should I do? Should I implement the E2500 as just an access point wireless for my modem/router combo existing? What should I change in the advanced settings? Or is there an alternative?

  • I want to use a Terminal Airport Express to extend network provided by my Fios router/modem without going through another airport base.  Is there a way to do this?  I understand that Apple does not support this, but surely there must be a way to do this.

Can someone tell me how to set up an Airport Express Terminal to expand Network provided by my Fios router/modem without going through an airport as a base?  I understand that apple does not support this use, but my applecare Advisor said it's possible.  Thank you!

Unfortunately, your AppleCare Advisor is wrong if he or she has told you that an AirPort Express to extend wireless signal of a Fios router/modem.

Function of "Extend a wireless network" Apple is an exclusive feature that was designed by Apple engineers to extend the signal from another wireless only router from Apple. Thus, the AirPort Express... or any other router Apple besides... would not be able to extend wireless a Fios network.

SO... you have the possibility to locate the Airport Express where it is needed... And... Connect it to the Fios router/modem with a permanent, wired Ethernet cable connection, then the AirPort Express can 'extend' in this way.

Or... If you are ready to add a second AirPort Express, connect the first near Fios modem/router with an Ethernet cable, then the second Airport Express could extend the signal first Express wireless.

Another way to say the same thing, is that if you want an Apple AirPort router to extend wireless network... then you need two Apple routers to achieve this goal.

  • How can I set Up Airport Express with an existing router/modem from the ISP

I have a wireless modem/router ISP and I want to get the ability to use Air Print using a non-Airprint but the USB printer. I suggest you to connect the printer to the Airport Express A1392 Epson) via a USB port to enable the AirPrint features.  However, I guess the Airport Express must be an ethernet to the modem/router ISP connection and then use the Epxress airport more convenient than my wireless router.

    Issues related to the:

    1. do I need to turn off the function the ISP router's wireless when I plugged as stated above? So I wait.

    2. as the Airport Express only has one ethernet port I assume that I can connect my other ethernet connections using a hub 4 ports connected to the Airport Express Terminal.  It will be always possible to use other ports ethernet on the modem/router ISP as well?

    Doug

I have a wireless modem/router ISP and I want to get the ability to use Air Print using a non-Airprint but the USB printer.

You may have received incorrect information, because a non-AirPrint on the USB port on an AirPort Express Terminal... or any other router from Apple also printer... do not make the AirPrint-compatible printer.

You want to continue nevertheless to check that this is true?

The AirPort Express can connect to the network wireless router using a wireless connection... or... it can connect to one of the router's Ethernet ports using a wired Ethernet connection.

Wired connections are always preferable wireless if possible for your Express.  Turn off the wireless router is not necessary if you want to connect to the Express using an Ethernet connection.

  • Do I need two devices of Airport express to extend my Comcast router/modem?

Hi, can someone tell me if I need two devices Airport Express to extend the range of my wifi using a modem/router to Comcast?

It all depends on "how" you want to extend the scope of the Comcast modem/router.

IF... you can locate a single AirPort Express Terminal at the remote location where you need more coverage of wireless signal... And... connect the AirPort Express Terminal to the modem/router using a permanent wired Ethernet cable connection. ... THEN... the AirPort Express can be put in place to create a wireless network using the same wireless network name and password as the modem/router.  When you do this, then the modem/router and AirPort Express will act as a 'great' network with many more.

IF... you can not run the Ethernet cable from the remote AirPort Express back to the modem/router and leave only it connected all the time, then your only other option would be to use two AirPort Express devices.  An express train would be located near the modem/router and connect using a short Ethernet cable. This Express will be set to 'create' a wireless network.

The second AirPort Express Terminal can then be configured to "extend" a wireless network and wireless to repeat the signal from the first Express... assuming that the second Express is located where it can receive a strong signal first Express wireless.

  • Remove my modem connection?

I have a few computers on a small network ethernet, via a residential gateway (i.e., router), which allow computers to share files and printers, and share an Internet connection cable. Most of the computers on my network is not yet have PSTN modems and (fortunately), I had the need to use remote access services in more than six years. However, in my IE Options CONNECTION tab it says that MSN remote connection has been implemented.

Sometimes, I received a box of popup with some sort of message about the remote connection and work offline. Of course, I'm not looking for a modem connection. I have changed since my connections to NEVER A CONNECTION settings, but I really want to just remove the connection distance for not having any conflicts in my system or Internet access in the future.

My question: would I be causing no problem for me on the road if I just remove this connection remotely, and if deleting it would not be a problem, so I have correctly and safely how so? Thanks in advance for your help.

I don't think that delete a unused dial-up connection can cause problems.  To be completely safe:

    1. make a system restore point.
    2. open the network connections, right click on the connection file and delete it.
    3. in case of problems, restore the system to the way it was before deletion.

  • IVI go check if routes are connected

Trying to connect a route connected already will generate an error.

What is the best way to check if a group of route is connected before you try to establish a connection?

I m using IVI and Switch Executive to connect/disconnect the route groups.

Try to build a switch sequence something like that.

Get the name of the group as an argument road. First, check if the routing group is connected (avoiding an error). If not, connect the Group itinerary, otherwise do nothing.

Using the 'Get information' operation and entering the "route"(not groupe) in the channel 1 and channel 2 and checking the status seems to work ".

But it seems to work by using road names (not the itinerary for group names).

And I can't find how to resolve route of group names to links using IVI switch stage. (can make using Labview. but you can't combine LV IVI and IVI switch)

    PER DAY

You are looking for routes multiconnect. This is a setting that you can configure in the NI Switch Executive (NISE) for routes individually.

Enabling this setting allows a road linking several times without generating the error that you have mentioned.

However, a way of opening must be as often that you closed before. It is the task of the calling application to keep track on how many times you have closed or you just repreat by opening the road until you get an error of NISE.

I think that already there is the feature request NISE stores the number of closures by route and add functions to query this information. Unfortunately, I have found it in less than a minute so maybe you want to spend more time to find. If you can't find, please do not hesitate to post (in the idea exchange forums!).

    Hello

    You need Virtual WiFi:

You may not have that unless you try to connect to other WiFi devices via your computer and
many WiFi devices and their drivers do not correctly support the virtual pilot.

Check with the manufacturer of system and/or support updated real manufacturer Sites and WiFi device drivers.
(Which is also updating the driver virtual.) If no new drivers WiFi are available then re - install the present
    one.

Control Panel - network - write down of the brand and the model of the Wifi - double click top - tab of the driver - write
version - click the driver update (cannot do something that MS is far behind the pilots of certification). Then
Right click on the Wifi device and UNINSTALL - Reboot - it will refresh the driver stack.

Now in the system manufacturer (Dell, HP, Toshiba as examples) site (in a restaurant), peripheral
Site of the manufacturer (Realtek, Intel, Nvidia, ATI, for example) and get their latest versions. (Look for
BIOS, Chipset and software updates on the site of the manufacturer of the system here.)

Download - SAVE - go to where you put them - right click - RUN AD ADMIN - REBOOT after
    each installation.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.
    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/driverssupport/HT/driverdlmfgr.htm

Installation and update of drivers under Windows 7 (updated drivers manually using the methods
below is preferred so that the latest drivers from the manufacturer of system and device manufacturers are
    found)
    http://www.SevenForums.com/tutorials/43216-installing-updating-drivers-7-a.html

Download - SAVE - go where you put it - right click – RUN AS ADMIN.

You can download several at once however restart after the installation of each of them.

After watching the system manufacturer, you can check the manufacturer of the device an even newer version.
(Those become your fonts of rescue system manufacturer).

Repeat for network card (NIC) and is a good time to get the other updated drivers as
Windows 7 like the updated drivers.

    ==========================================================================

More information on what WiFi devices a virtual: (as noted above, if the device or the driver is not
support the virtual device or is not required then it can be disabled).

The WiFi device and the driver is installed must support a Virtual WiFi configuration. Check with the system
Manufacturer support, their documentation online and drivers and ask in their forums (if any) known
questions. If the wireless device is supported for OEM sound drivers, visit their site for updated drivers and
known issues (Intel, Realtek, LinkSys and others).

  • RV180 behind DSL ROUTER cannot connect with QuickVPN

    Hello

I would like to ask if it is possible to configure the RV180 behind my DSL router to connect using QuickVPN. • Performs a PIX routes packets from one LAN to the same LAN?

    Hello

My PIX is the default gateway for my local network.

Can I set up a static route in my 5151E PIX routes the packets of my LAN to another gateway in the same local network?

    Thanks in advance

IMHO, it would be better to say:

The PIX performs routing, but it is is not a router. It can offers routing features, but one thing is that the PIX will never allow traffic leaving the same interface it came. This is due to the Adaptive Security algorithm in the PIX.

What about the reverse? Make the default gateway router and assigning a static route all (gateway of last resort) of this router for the PIX. Could be a solution.

    Kind regards

    Leo
