point to point Bridge configuration

Hello

One of you have documents showing how to configure a bridge point to point with several VLANs? Basically, I am trying to achieve:

VLAN 1,2,3-Switch--AP1200 ><>

However, it doesn't explain anything about the configuration of the bridge itself. Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you

-Very well, please excuse my confusion / ignorance.

I have two Linksys E3200 - connected to the network; a sequence of switch, firewall, internet, Server master.

The issue and the need is how would I go to do a single wireless network?

Would it be a main router and the second access point first? Is that my vocabulary is not what it should be, a bridge?  And if I'm not mistaken, the Linksys E3200 does not support the option to 'bridge', Yes?

Our COMPUTER technician has set up routers to imitate each other, but we had some problems with them and he is out of town.

Your help would be very helpful.

Just so that we are on the same page - what I'm trying to do?
A single network WiFi - two Linksys E3200 running - for example:

    • John Smith walks the coast East of the building, to the West.
    • John is assigned an address IP of ROUTER1 (East side), and John walks constantly the same address IP ROUTER2 arriving (West side).
    • No signal, no renewed address, same pattern drop.

    Thank you

Update the firmware on the E3200 and see if there is bridge mode. If it isn't, use cascade of LAN to LAN.

  • RV110W access point / bridge mode?

    Hi guys,.

    I have a few questions on RV110W.

I would like to install wifi on my local network access, I have gateway with wan, web filtering etc. etc.. I just want a good wifi access point.

So why I want to equip with a RV110W and not a normal access point? It's just my boss want mandatory limitation of the internet access of planning by hours, days ~ ~ and guest access. Another detail, my local network have not all dhcp.

So, in the first place. Can I plug my lan rj45 on switch of RV110W port for internet by my current gateway?

If I set the limitation of the internet, has done this job of feature on switch port wireless access?

If I put the dhcp on RV110W (for example 192.X.X.5 to 192.X.X.10) and I identify the ip address on my other gateway for internet access (filtering fortigate), can I put the dhcp on RV110W only on wifi or it will assign ip on other devices on my LAN?

    Thank you very much!

Hi Ash, you can connect the RV110W by a switch port to another router.

Dhcp RV110W is not customizable to the point where you can specific to your other router IP of the gateway.

If active RV110W dhcp would provide DHCP what accept DHCP.

You may want to look into WAP121 or WAP321.

  • Imported clips are shorter than the originals (points are configured before you import)

After you import the folder of clips, some of them are shorter than they should be (from a few minutes). For some reason any the of in and out is already fixed on them and I can't change it. Look at the pictures on my camera (Canon xf100) all images are here.

    * Note that I imported these images on a different hard drive for another project before this current project... it is possible that some meta data has been transferred?

Well I don't know why he was doing this... However, I have just re-copied the pictures from my camera with Canon XF utility this time. It works now. Thank you for taking a good glance!

  • Bridge configuration with comcast - need to change password

    Hello

I have a NetGear R6300 I use in conjunction with my comcast router (router comcast serves as a bridge). I am able to access the router to comcast, but cannot access the netgear router. We use the netgear as thoughout the home wi - fi router because the comcast is so bad. I think someone may be connecting to our wi - fi and I need to change the password of the NetGear router, there is always the default password, so a factory reset will not help.

Any suggestions on how to change the password?

The default password should be "password" without the quotes. You can change the password after logging in.

  • Configuration of AP bridge point-to-multipoint

    Hello.

I try to configure the AP as point-to-multipoint bridge.

I found an example site scenario document web cisco as below: (http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/tech/tk722/tk809/technologies_configuration_example09186a008058f53e.shtml)

It's good for point to point Bridge configuration.

Does anyone have the example scenario for point-to-multipoint bridge?

Should I apply the MBSSID sample of bridge point to point configuration I mentioned?

I rendered account of why we had to WLC...

    If I'm successful, I'll post.

    Wish my luck.

    Thank you in advance.

    Hello

When working with a either a point to point or point to multipoint configuration we configure a unit as the unit of the root and other units such as the root no, we define the same SSID on all units, the SSID can be broadcast or not (it is not necessary), we define the units with the same security encryption method located on the root of the channel to use and remotely.

Then you should make sure that the units were aligned to each other, there is no obstruction and a line of clear view object.

Here is an example of a unit configuration defined as root using 2.4 ghz radio, broadcasting the SSID using WPA 2 PSK with AES version.

PSK is cisco12345 and the configuration of the root should be the same only defined as root rather than role station.

  • Time Capsule as Access Point

I have posted another question about TC but be as well that at the same time.

I use Yosemite on an iMac and I have a TC of 2 TB.

My modem/router is an Orange Livebox (I live in France)

I'm trying to do my Act TC as an AP but hard to do things.

Basically, I have my modem/router and then ran 2 local ports ethernet cables on it to two houses on opposite sides of the House.

My plan was to launch an AP on each of them, one of them being my TC which is next to my iMac.

The cable to the TB through an ethernet switch (if it's relevant - it is a hub for home entertainment stuff)

When I turn on the TC (not connected to ethernet) allows me to extend the wifi signal, but the wifi signal is weak in this room and obviously I want to do is run in mode bridge while only connected by ethernet.

My assumption was that I would plug the ethernet cable into a LAN on the TC port, and then put the TC in Bridge mode and your Uncle Bob.

However, this doesn't seem to work and the settings allowing me to select Bridge Mode in airport utility are grayed out.

I do not know if I should be restart the TP with the attached ethernet cable or tie once his place and running.

Can anyone provide instructions step by step for a thicko like me?

    Thank you very much

    Bob

The TC should work fine as AP.

From the other thread, it looks like you followed one of my sets of instructions.

Airport the last OS utility tend to want to resume when they find out you are using adsl. Maybe this is why your system is going crazy... It is also that he must really make a full reset to factory to start.

Here are the instructions again... I do not recommend that follow you all here...

Start from a factory reset. No files are lost on the drive hard in doing so.

    Universal factory reset

Turning off the TC... That is, remove the power supply cord or the power at the wall outlet, wait 10 seconds... Hold the reset button... be nice... Turn on always even now in reset... and keep holding in for another 10 seconds. You may need assistance because it is difficult to hold in reset and power on. It will show the success quickly flashing led front. Release reset... and wait a few minutes for the TC to reset and return with the factory settings. If the front LED flashes quickly you missed and simply try again. The reset is quite fragile in these... Press the key while it is just click away and not more... I've seen people bend lever or even break. I use a toothpick as a tool.

NB. None of your files on the hard drive of the TC are removed... This simply clears the settings of the router of the TC.

    The installer the TC.

And then redo the configuration of the computer with the Mavericks - Yosemite - ElCapo. (MYELCAP)

    1. the use of very short names... NO APPLE RECOMMENDED names. Without the space and pure alphanumeric characters.

for example TCgen5 for the base station and the name of the TCwifi wireless.

If the problem is using wireless TC24ghz and TC5ghz with fixed channels as it also seems to help stop the nonsense. But it can be tried in the second round. IE, plan on a first and second series of changes to fix this... If all goes well... I note other steps can you tour2.

    2. use all passwords also consistent with 1. but maybe a little longer. IE 8 and 20 characters of mixed cases and numbers... no alphanumeric non-caracteres.

3 (edited) TC can be unreliable if you do not set a static IP address. So, it's a little complicated in your configuration. At the moment of bridge configuration and ignore this point... but if you have any questions to the track with the TC network endangered... Tell me.

    4. check that your share on the computer name does not change... Make sure that it is also in line with the above... short without space and pure alphanumeric... but this change will mess up your TM backup... so be prepared to make a new, full backup. Sorry... keep this one for the second round, if you want to avoid a new backup.

5 attach the TC disc into the computer manually.

In Finder, go, connect to the server in the main menu,

Type in SMB://192.168.0.254 (or whatever ip of TC is that you made static. It's a default router 10.0.1.1 and I encourage people to stick with it unless you know what you're doing).

You can use the name... SMB://TCgen5.local where you replace TCgen5 with your name of TC... local is the default domain of the TC and does not change.

However the names are not so easy as... the IP address nor reliable. They are not at least not in Yosemite. The field can also be a problem if you are not clogged or wireless directly to the Treasury Board.

    6. ensure that IPv6 is set to link-local only in the computer. For example wireless open network, wireless and Advanced preferences / TCP/IP... and the difficulty of IPv6. link-local only. Do the same for the ethernet if you use it.

It is a lot more jiggery pokery, you can try, but the above is a good start... If you still find not reliable... don't be surprised.

You may need to do more work on the computer itself. for example, to reset the NVRAM/PRAM/SMC... helped some people. A clean installation of the operating system is also useful if you update installed.

    https://discussions.Apple.com/message/29202159?ac_cid=ha123456#29202159

If you run through this via airport utility... with your Mac connected by ethernet to a LAN port on the TC you change on airport utility using ethernet... now the thing is too stupid to read the two ethernet and wireless at the same time.

I am connected to the TC by wifi no options appear under other devices Wi - Fi.

Plug in ethernet, and now you have the opportunity to spend.

I can't work for the life of me why it is necessary... but there you go...

  • 7000 R as point of access one using the integrated switch

I use the first 7000 R as a router and the second 7000 R as an Access Point. I can even if need the integrated switch of one Access Point is this switch automatically connect with the same netzwork?

    Marcel

You can use all of the ports on the R7000 in AP mode. They are in the same network. If your access point is configured properly on the ports of the AP devices, should receive a valid IP address / gateway to the Base R7000 (DHCP server). You could even hang it cut one of thos ports, if you wanted to... Make sure that you are running at least cable CAT5e Ethernet between the R7000 AP and the Station of Base R7000 to connect the two devices.

    Hello!

I have WAP54G access point in our network. I would like to change the WPA security settings, but am not able to do.

I did everything as mentioned in the installation manual, and I get to the 5th sheet of status points: Firmware version v.304, MAC (numbers), the 192.168.1.245 IP address, SSID linksys channel Channel 6 and disable WEB security

What I would do, is to change the SSID and WPA2 security. When I'm clicking 'Yes', he goes to the next sheet "Password", I write admin and click on "Enter". "I'm going to pop-up window Setup access violation" at address 0049BDB6 in module 'Setup.exe '. Write to the address C933016A. »

    Hi Paul,.

    This happens all the time, so it shouldn't be a problem :) I'm guessing that you have received this AP - AIR - LAP1131AG - x - K9 LWAPP. When you really wanted this AP - AIR-AP1131G-x-K9 Cisco IOS software. Look at the comparison;

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/products/ps6087/products_data_sheet0900aecd801b901c.html

That being said, you should be good to go with 12.3 (11) JA1.

To access Cisco Aironet to Cisco IOS version 12.3 Points (11) JA1

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/docs/wireless/access_point/iOS/release/notes/b11jar1n.html

Cisco IOS version 12.3 (11) JA1 supports 32 MB independent platforms. 16 MB platforms and platforms supported by Cisco IOS version 12.3 (8) JA and earlier versions (350, 1100, 1130, 1200 and 1230 access points and access point/bridge 1300 series) are supported by Cisco IOS version 12.3 (8) JEA1.

    Do not install a "JX" (it is a software image support to upgrade and recovery Cisco Lightweight Access Point Protocol (LWAPP));

These release notes describe features, improvements, and caveats for Cisco IOS release 12.3 (11) JX1.

Note: This version must be loaded on points of access to the plant or by using the lightweight stand-alone mode upgrade tool. Your access point may become unusable if you install this software without using the upgrade tool.

    Returning to standalone Access Point

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/products/HW/wireless/ps430/prod_technical_reference09186a00804fc3dc.html#wp161272

You can convert an access point of the mode light return to autonomous mode by loading a Cisco IOS version that supports stand-alone mode (Cisco IOS release 12.3 (7) JA or earlier version). If the access point is associated with a controller, you can use the controller to load the version of Cisco IOS. If the access point is not associated with a controller, you can load the version of Cisco IOS using TFTP.

By using a TFTP server to revert to a previous version

Follow these steps to return mode LWAPP stand-alone mode by loading a version of Cisco IOS using a TFTP server:

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Step 1 the IP address of the computer on which the server software runs TFTP should range from 10.0.0.2 to 10.0.0.30.

Step 2 make sure the PC contains the file access point (for example, c1200-k9w7 - tar.122 - 15.JA.tar for a 1200 Series access point) in the TFTP server folder and the TFTP server is activated.

Step 3 Rename the access point image file in the folder of the TFTP server c1200-k9w7 - tar.default for a series of 1200 point, c1130-k9w7 - tar.default of access for a series of 1130 access point and c1240-k9w7 - tar.default for a series of 1240 access point.

Step 4 connect the PC to the access point using an Ethernet category 5 cable (CAT5).

Step 5 disconnect the power to the access point.

Step 6 push the MODE button and hold the button while you reconnect power to the access point.

Step 7 hold the MODE button until the status of the LED turns red (approximately 20 to 30 seconds), then release.

Step 8 wait until restarting access point, as indicated by the LEDs become green followed the status LED flashes green.

Step 9 after the access point reboots, reconfigure using the GUI or the CLI.

  • Cisco 1602i series Access point installation

Hello everyone. I tried to configure cisco AIR-CAP1602i-E-K9 series access point is default for the configuration files and other settings, I guess you are looking for WLC. but I do not have a WLC I want to configure the AP a standalone conceerne Access point. I connected via switch where all the ports on the switch are vlan 10 switch is connected to a router and I have configured the router as DHCP server. It is my first time that I've never touched a cisco point for configuration of access. below is the error that was coming up on the screen countinously when I access the AP via the console. Kindly any assistance in this regard would be highly appreciated. Thank you

If you do not have WLC, you will need to convert this access point in stand-alone mode. See below on this post. You must required image before this conversion. If you have a support contract with Cisco you can download from Cisco.com

  • LEAP and EAP-FAST in the same access point

    Hello...

We have an infrastructure based on 1142 APs.  Now, they have set up an SSID with JUMP as an authentication mechanism.

The infrastructure is not a wireless LAN controller, access points are configured as standalone APs with SSID configured in each of them.

The mechanism to authenticate the windows with JUMP positions was a little tricky.  We need now to migrate all stations to EAP-FAST, but without loss of JUMP environment during the migration.   You have to configure the APs to serve the two authentication mechanism: LEAP and EAP-FAST.

Is it possible to have it?

What should we do about it?

    Thanks in advance...

For autonomous APs. If you are using:

    Authentication open EAP protocol

    Network EAP-

It accepts virtually all EAP types, not depends on the radius server to have all active... for example EAP methods, if you are using ACS may the PEAP LEAP EAP-FAST, EAP - TLS at the sametime...

So no matter what, the customer's server and the RADIUS wireless must match the EAP type configured... any type of EAP, the AP should support it...
