Port Channerl - LACP Mode

Hello, I defined an Interface Port - channel in LACP mode, in a switch Catalyst 3850:

!
Interface Port-Channel 4
switchport mode access
end

To this port-channel interface, I associate two interfaces:

!
interface GigabitEthernet1/0/4
Description - PC03-ADM -.
switchport mode access
channel-group mode 4 passive
end

YN-NW-GB06-170 #sh run int g2/0/4
Building configuration...

Current configuration: 120 bytes
!
interface GigabitEthernet2/0/4
Description - PC03-ADM -.
switchport mode access
channel-group mode 4 passive
end

When I check the status of the interfaces, I see:

YN-NW-GB06-170 #sh etherchannel 4 Synt.
Flags: - Low P - D bundled in port-channel
I have - autonomous s - suspended
H Eve (LACP only)
R - Layer 3 S - Layer2
U - running f - cannot allocate an aggregator

M - don't use, minimum contacts not satisfied
u - unfit to tied selling
w waiting to be aggregated
d default port

Number of channels in use: 4
Number of aggregators: 4

I think that once you change the mode on the Cisco end will be correct.

  • OR 2 port 485 wire mode in Windows 7

I have an old OR 2 port RS-485 PCI card (c. 1997).  Recently I neede to configure port 1 of 2-wire and 4-wire port 4.  Using Windows 7 and the latest version of measurement and Automation Explorer, I couldn't change the wireless mode.  The entire section is grayed out. I put the card in a Windows XP machine running the most recent measurement and Automation Explorer and I was able to set the thread mode.

After you uninstall and install the drivers of the series and the card in the Windows 7 machine I could not yet set the wire by measurement and Automation Explorer or even program mode.  Through sheer dumb luck, I watched the com ports in the hardware Manager and found a button for advanced configuration.  A window with a menu drop-down allowed me to set the thread mode and it worked.

Is it how 485 cards pci on a Windows 7 computer work now?  I am posting this because I had a devil of a time finding the setting and I hope that someone will be spared some frustration in the future.

The parameters are gray because they are more accessible to users with administrator access. In Windows Vista and Windows 7, you must right click on the measurement and Automation Explorer icon and select "Run as Administrator".

  • W500 - port modem USB mod

    Hi all

I would try a mod on the W500 I own. There are a few questions:

    1. is it possible to get 2 additional ports (wise connector) to the mobo?

    2. mechanically - I still have to disassemble the W500 and check the upper right - for space.

I don't know if someone has tried such a thing before...

Any idea / comment / advice are welcome.

There are no connectors on the motherboard to fix other devices

  • ACL should be applied to the port in closed mode

    Hello

When reading about the deployment of closed mode of ISE, I came across conflict Cisco "HowTo-10-Universal_Switch_Config" and "Closed_Mode-25-HowTo" documents.

According to "HowTo-10-Universal_Switch_Config', in closed Mode, we must apply an ACL on the port of the switch as follows

Station Access IP DEFAULT ACL list
    Note DHCP
allow udp any eq bootpc any eq bootps
    Note DNS
allow udp any any eq field
    Notice Ping
    allow icmp a whole
    Note PXE / TFTP
allow udp any any eq tftp
    Note drop everything
    deny ip any any newspaper

But according to "HowTo-25-Closed_Mode', in Mode closed, we don't apply this ACL on the switchport.

So my question is, if the ACL must applied on Switchport or not... and how it will affect switchport

    Thank you

    Aditya

Sorry for the delay, Aditya, as I've gotten very busy at work. Have you read the link I provided? Really, it offers different options to your question and answers.

Personally, I prefer NOT to set up an ACL and let the system use the default. However, if you choose this route, be sure that you always return a DACL with your authorization profiles, even if it is just 'allowed ip any any ".

  • PowerConnect 3548 - change port access mode?

I'm having a problem with our 3548 P PowerConnect switches.  I guess it's just a procedure, I'm not aware, so I hope I can get help.

It was necessary to temporarily move several ports to general mode to add access to a VLAN individual.  Right now, I would like to remove this VLAN and only have ports of the switch in question on VLAN 1.  I get a (not unexpected) error when trying to add ports to VLAN 1 (because it is not created by the user, the default VLAN), I tried to simply remove the VLAN ports and switch back them to General.  When I do, I get the following message:

EXX port: Port does not belong to VLAN PVID as not tagged.

What command sequence should I return the ports to access the mode and just make sure they're on the VLAN 1?  I guess I should do something about port traffic to not tagged or delete the PVID before returning to the access mode.

I think I fixed the problem.  If I set the VLAN existing as non-tagged, i.e.:

"switchport vlan allowed general access Add VLAN unidentified".

This removes the image of marking and allows me to go back to access the mode on the switchport.   Yet to get used to the command structure; Thank you for putting up with my questions.

  • Mode of the switch port to connect to a router

I wonder what mode to set the switchport is connected to a router.

I guess the cable between the router is connected to a port in trunk mode (for all the VLANS defined)? Then I Lass with gateways for VLANs pointing to the router routing interfaces?

So in this way, if a neighboring switch does not know how to route a packet to an unknown IP address, the packet is sent on the trunk to the other switch. Here the appropriate VLAN SVI sends the packet to the appropriate router interface. Is this correct or nearly correct?

    Hi Atle,

You can connect a trunk port or port access to a router. If you choose to use an access port, the router will form an adjacency only through the VIRTUAL LAN defined in this access port. If you choose a trunk port, you can use dot1q encapsulation on subinterfaces of adjacencies form on several VLANs. If you use a trunk you would this type of configuration:

    On the switch:

    item in gi1/0/1 interface

    switchport mode trunk

    switchport trunk encapsulation dot1q

switchport trunk allowed vlan a to c

    On the router

    gi0/0.a interface

    encapsulation dot1q one

    IP address x.x.x.x y.y.y.y

    !

    interface gi0/0.b

    encapsulation dot1q b

    IP address v.v.v.v y.y.y.y

    !

    interface gi0/0.c

    encapsulation dot1q c

    IP address z.z.z.z y.y.y.y

Here's a good tutorial on this subject:

    http://www.howtonetwork.NET/public/708.cfm

    Cisco service documentation:

    http://www.Cisco.com/en/us/docs/iOS/12_0t/12_0t1/feature/guide/8021Q.html

To answer your question, you can use the router as a default gateway for hosts. In this case, should not have an IVR on the switch, except for MANAGEMENT purposes. Traffic from the hosts would take the path of the L2 to the router and then the router would make the next decision of transfer for the package. If you have two routers, you could do a safe for both routers and run a FHRP between them for redundancy.

  • Setting port channel between UCS - FI and MDS 9124 (Mode F)

    Dear team,

We tried to create the channel of port between UCS FI and MDS 9124

But the port channel do not take action in mode F on MDS 9124

FI is in host FC end Mode

We have allowed FC uplink on FI trunking

We have activated NPIV on MDS

We have activated the MDS trunk

FI and MDS in default VSAN

To check that we have changed the way FI FC channels mode and switch port became active, but in E mode

When we enabled CF trunking of uplink on the port mode FI channels and FC Switching became active in mode TE

but in both cases above, showflogi database shows WWPN of SAN alone does not have the any fi.

    How to achieve this?

Have read that no need to change the mode switching mode of CF swicthing and keep FC Endhost way

SO how to channel ports with mode F MDS and FI (Display Mode as NProxy)

What is it has nothing to do with the MDS NX - OS version? (https://supportforums.cisco.com/thread/2179129)

If yes how to put as license for ports came with the camera and we don't have any CAP/PAK or license file as she came

    with license

    Also, we saw 2 files available for download (m9100-s2ek9-kickstart - mz.5.2.8 .bin and m9100-s2ek9 - mz.5.2.8 .bin b b) to use

    Hi Jo Bo.

What version of the software if your MDS race?

On your UCS do connect nxos and show ficelleStringString ficelleT inteface and find the mac address.

It is possible that you could be hitting the bug below. If this is the case, you may need to update the firmware on your MDS.

    Add MAC YES '002a6a', '8c604f', '00defb' for 5 k/UCS-FI

  • BT Vision (UK IPTV / Internet)-+ Multicast Unicast on same port wired?

    Hello

I recently bought a Nighthawk R8000 to replace my BT Home Hub 4. Everything goes fine until I checked the BT Vision service I have. This box uses the internet standard and multicast for television services.

The problem I have is that I can only have one or the other work at any time. So if I set up IPTV to cable port 4 bridge mode I get TV multicast channels but lose the standard Internet features.

If I then disable bridge IPTV mode I get internet services normal but lose the multicast channels.

Is there a mode / setting etc. that supports two IPTV multicast and unicast traffic to the same cable port?

It feels like this should be possible, I'm not sure what method to achieve this.

    See you soon,.

  • Pavilion slimline s3760in: usb ports and the Internet connection

    Hello

I use my hp pavilion slimline s3760in pc for about five years. Recently my hard drive failed and I had to replace.

Everything was going well until my pc stopped recognizing all the same usb ports in BIOS mode on many occasions (he only recognized usb keyboard sometimes). Finally I have reset factory. The Usb ports now generally work fine, but now when I connect to the internet, none of my browsers can disply any page, even other programs cannot connect to the internet, although it shows that I am connected to the internet.

Is it a hardware problem or just windows?

    Hello again @vr46,

Thank you for the updated information. • the printer port does not recognize hasp key

I recently bought a Dell rebuilt to replace a running xp sp3 which had overheating problems with windows xp sp3.  I am running a previous software (7.5V2 friendly technology FlexiSign Pro) program that requires a hasp on a parallel port key.  I never had problems with the old computer recognizing the hasp key, but when I try to use this software on the new computer does not recognize the HASP.  I think what may be due to the fact that my new computer printer port is configured as instead of the lpt port ecp.  Is it possible that this could be my problem and I can change the port of older style? Any guidance is appreciated.

    Thank you

    Greg

If the problem really is whether the parallel port in ECP mode, you can switch to EPP mode in the BIOS.  Restart the computer and keep a close eye at the beginning of the boot sequence for the message that tells you what key to press to enter the BIOS (change system settings or similar).  Restart again and press the key when the message is displayed.  You will have only a few seconds.

  • N2048 port security does not

    Hi Experts,

Only, we have deployed a new site that uses the Dell N2048 switches in a stack.

Now we would add port security to the switch, Port-MAC locking to lockdown one port if another computer.

According to the manual, to put in place we only need of to the port to locked under the MISTLETOE under switching, network security, port security.

    This does not activate it.

We tried to add via the command line, in the ports of test, it now shows:

switchport security of dynamic ports 1

Still, port security is not enabled. There is another thing that must be enabled in the world to do this job or other commands?

    Thank you

The output of port security-# show is as follows:

    Port Security Administration Mode: enabled

It is possible that the tests were not done fast enough. I spent the time-out and ask them to test again.

    Thank you
