Portege R830: display resolution set by default with Port Replicator
Hello
I have a speed HI PA3916A-1PRP port replicator for my R830.
Whenever I start the laptop in the port replicator, the display settings for the screen of the laptop and external monitor goes back to some default that I didn't have before.
Rang of Toshiba, and they said there is no update for the Replicator port, but suggested, updating the BIOS on the laptop, but that was already the most recent.
Any thoughts anyone?
See you soon.
Hello
Have you tried an update of the display driver?
I'm not very well if it would help, but this could be a m option

Hi ML
Stupid question maybe now but why do you want to update the BIOS on this, I think, fairly new laptop model?
Have you noticed a few issues or hardware issues? -
Tecra A7 with port replicator - the bad external monitor resolution
Hello
I have a Tecra A7 (Mod.No. PTA71E) that I use with often an III advanced port replicator and an external 19 "monitor (1280 x 1024).
Now Ichanged the monitor with a new LCD display 22 '' Samsung 223BW with a resolution of 1680 x 1050.
Attached to the VGA, I have a lot of flicker problems drinking the reolution is OK.
Attached to the DVI I have not flickering but the monitor get a resolution of 1280 x 1024 with a desktop computer to 1680 x 1050, that appear depending on the position of the mouse. How can I use the DVI and get good resolution (as in VGA mode) but without twinkle?
Thank you
Davide RubbianiHello
I guess that the Toshiba ATI driver does not support the resolution of 1680 x 1050.
The only way to get the 1680 x 1050 resolution is to install another driver.Maybe here you will find a working one.

No Audio or USB ports with Port Replicator 3 and Portege R600
I have a problem between my Port Replicator 3 (PA3681E-2PRP) and my Portege R600-13 X (Win7 Pro 32-bit). Everything has been working well for the past few months until a week ago. My PC has developed a problem then that plugged on the Port Replicator, it will not recognize something new that is connected to the USB (two PC & Replicator ones) ports, the Replicator audio output no longer works and the PC hangs during shutdown. Everything is OK with the PC when booted without the Replicator, but as soon as it is connected to the port replicator, in this case.
I tried looking for information about this problem, but nothing helps... Any help to fix this would be greatly appreciated as it is to set up a business and I need it to work properly.
A few things to try:
Reinstall the Toshiba Value Added Package.
Use system restore to restore Windows to a previous state.
Check the connector for docking station for damage.
Back up your data and perform the recovery. If its still does not, then I would send the laptop and the Port Replicator Port for an ASP for repair.

Portege Z30-A-12N with Port Replicator Port Hi-Speed USB III problems
Hi all
I have a big problem with my new Portege Z30-A-12N and Hi-Speed Port Replicator III.
I connected the power, DVI, LAN, mouse and keyboard to the Port Replicator.
Power, DVI and LAN are okay, but none will be found if I connect something to the USB Ports 2.0 or 3.0.
No mouse, no keyboard, and no USB key. When I start my Portege I must enter a password after you press the power button.
These password, I could enter with the external keyboard, but in windows, no keyboard has been found. If I connect the keyboard and mouse to the USB Ports of the Portege instead of Port Replicator, the two has been found.
I ran Windows 7 Enterprise on the Portege.
BIOS version is 3.30Do you have a solution for me?
Hello
The HI-SPEED PORT REPLICATOR III PA5116E-1PRP supports 2 x USB 2.0 and 4 x USB 3.0 ports.
You n t special need Win 7 drivers in order to be able to use the USB ports or other interfaces such as VGA, DVI, audio, etc.Sound problems, make sure that the audio device has been selected in the right panel-> sound-> playback tab
By the way: Win 7 needs USB driver 3.0 which is preinstalled when the laptop was equipped with USB 3.0 ports. My knowledge if your mobile phone does not support USB 3.0, you will be able to use the port replicator USB 3.0 ports.
Finally and above all devices must be connected before you start the computer. The decision supported and compatible specifications: Portégé R30 - A, Tecra Z40 - A, Tecra Z50 - A, Portégé Z30-A/Z30t-A, Tecra A50 - has

Portege M200: serial port does not work with port replicator
Hello
I have a Tablet m200 and the top mentioned dock/replication PA3314-1PRP port.
As the M200 has no serial port (rs232), I want to use the one on the docking station, but it is not recognized as a device on my tablet.Thew network connections and usb ports all work fine and the lpt port is shown in Device Manager. I have restored the Tablet and it still does not recognize the serial port.
How can I get this port recognized so that I can use it.Thank you very much
LeeHello Lee
I just, I can confirm that when you use the Replicator port advanced III with Portege M200 several ports do not work. Problem is that Portege M200 does not support these interfaces.
This is a technical limitation and the port of mouse PS/2 port keyboard PS/2, serial port, I.Link (Firewire) port and DVI port will not be supported when Portege M200 is anchored on the Advanced Port Replicator III. :(

Tecra A10 - BSOD with Port Replicator Port and external monitor
Hello
I have a Tecra A10 PTSB0A 05C023 with XP SP3 on an Express Port Replicator, running to an external monitor (1280 x 1024) on VGA. Works fine for a while then seems BSOD spontaneously when not in service - possibly when screensaver or powersaver comes into play.
BSOD is a STOP 0x0000007E in igxpmp32.sys
I downloaded and installed the latest video drivers intel from the Web from Toshiba - 6.14.10.4953 site
Any help or advice by eliminating the BSOD would be greatly appreciated.
Kind regards
Rhys.
Hi mate,
I asked Google to igxpmp32.sys and this file belongs to the Intel display driver. In your case, I recommend the page Intel searching for the latest display drivers.
[www.intel.com]Also have a look on the Toshiba site for a BIOS update, or you have already installed the latest version of the BIOS?
In addition, it would be interesting to know what Port Replicator you use exactly. Can you post the model number?

External keyboard works only after the restart with Port Replicator III Plus
The problem is that when I start the laptop, the external PS/2 keyboard does not work. When I reboot keyboard this one turns around and then I can use it.
This problem occurs on a laptop Toshiba Tecra with an Advanced Port Replicator III Plus. I used several keyboards, so this isn't the problem. I changed a value in the bios which is used for devices USB (mouse/keyboard). I disabled the option, because I use a keyboard and a PS/2 mouse, but the problem is not resolved. I hope someone has an answer to this problem.
Hello
It will be interesting to know what model Tecra you use. Is it perhaps Tecra A6?

How to set a default with 2 tuners tuner installed?
I just installed a WinTV-HVR Hybrid TV Stick, 950Q model. It works better than my tuner internal 3 year but looks like he only uses that the 950Q when the internal tuner is busy recording another program. How can I tell WMC using the 950Q as a default tuner and use only inside the 950Q is busy? Thank you!
Hi, JJ.
Unfortunately, as far as I know, he has no "Media Center A - Z guide" (at least, no not that I found yet.) More from broadcasting in various places on the web. But all of the info is out there (in various locations).
Anything you can't find, feel free to ask. A very good place for you to gothegreenbutton.com - this is a dedicated Media Center community. A lot of help will be required here.Another good source of information is http://www.hack7mc.com/ .
A few things to help you to started (or, better informed?):
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/getting-started-with-Windows-Media-Center (but you already seem to have the basics down...)
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/record-TV-in-Windows-Media-Center (this does not cover some of the advanced options, not just the absolute basics.)
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/Windows-Media-Center-keyboard-shortcuts (very useful, especially if you do not have a remote control). For information about the edition of mass sources: you can't do (of, not natively). However, there is a third-party (Guide Tool) application that can do this for you (among others).

Portege R500: external monitor does not work with the Port Replicator Port 2 and DVI
I have a Portege R500 running Vista with a slim Port Replicator II and digital monitor Viewsonic.
I connected the monitor to the DVI port on the port replicator and got it to work OK.
Press fn + F5 would switch between the computer screen and the external monitor. Then it stopped working, and I can't make it work at all. F5 recognizes just the laptop screen.
If I connect an analog display, it is fine, and I can pass between the two screens without difficulty.
The strangest thing is that, if I reboot when the Portege R500 is docked, the digital monitor begins by displaying the boot sequence, but then the signal is lost as soon as the screen stops the display of the progress (in low resolution) bar.
I spent an hour on the phone to support Friday, and he made me nowhere.
They finished by saying that he should never have worked! So what is the DVI port because then?Any ideas?
David
Connect your monitor directly to your laptop and see if it is recognized and you can go through FN + F5 between the two views.
If it works, then connect with port replicator, and then try again. It's probably best if you reinstall display drivers. Maybe there are new too on the download page.

What is the resolution of the max screen with speed Port Replicator Hi (PA3838E-1PRP)
Hello
I have a Toshiba Portege R700 - 11 p and I want to buy a duplicator of Port speed Hi (PA3838E-1PRP), but I want to know the maximum screen resolution with ang VGA HDMI on the port replicator.
Thanks in advance for your answer
Hello
The maximum display resolution depends on the laptop (graphics card) and the external display that is connected to the port replicator to Port Hi-Speed.
The internal graphics INTEL QM57 (incorporated into the Portégé R700) overview card provides this info:
http://www.Intel.com/products/Notebook/chipsets/QM57/QM57-overview.htm
+ This chipset supports the DisplayPort interface * with a resolution up to 2560 x 1600. +Therefore, check the properties of the external monitor.

latitude dell max resolution with e-port replicator
I have the following scenario:
- Laptop: Dell Latitude E6420 i7 with Intel HD Graphics 3000
- Monitor: Dell 3007WFP 30' (up to 2560 x 1600 resolution)
- Docking station: e-port replicator for Dell T308d
- Adapter: Dell Display Port to DVI - D adapter cable DP/N 023NVR
Problem: the screen 30 '' Maximum available resolution is 1280 x 800.
Question:
Say that I can't get the monitor resolution of 2560 x 1600 with the integrated Intel HD3000 card or the e-port replicator as the laptop has no native DVI - D Dual Link, I should be able to get at least 1920 x 1080 per display port. No difficulty to get the best resolution of 1280 x 800?
Among the measures taken so far:
- The monitor has only a DVI - D Dual Link port so I use a DVI - D Dual link to cable DVI - D Dual Link to connect to the docking station does not work, I read somewhere that the e-port replicator is actually DVI - D Single Link inside so won't work because the monitor needs native DVI - D Dual Link.
- Using the same DVI - D Dual Link connection cable double DVI - D, but this time I add a DVI - D Dual link adapter port screen and connect to the port of display in the e-port replicator port, always the same question.
- To connect directly to the laptop using DVI - D Dual Link to HDMI Cable, always the same.
- Also tried manually add resolutions custom in the Intel like 1920 x 1800 Graphics Control Panel, or by using p 50 Hz frequency refresh, 30 Hz, etc. timing standard CVT or FTE or CVT - RB. When I apply these custom settings, the monitor screen goes black as if it does not support so it changes again in 1280 x 800.
- All the drivers are up to date.
Help will be greatly appreciated! -
You will need an active displayport to DVI. Here is the link to the purchase page.
