Portege Z30-A-12N with Port Replicator Port Hi-Speed USB III problems

Hi all

I have a big problem with my new Portege Z30-A-12N and Hi-Speed Port Replicator III.

I connected the power, DVI, LAN, mouse and keyboard to the Port Replicator.
Power, DVI and LAN are okay, but none will be found if I connect something to the USB Ports 2.0 or 3.0.
No mouse, no keyboard, and no USB key.

When I start my Portege I must enter a password after you press the power button.
These password, I could enter with the external keyboard, but in windows, no keyboard has been found.

If I connect the keyboard and mouse to the USB Ports of the Portege instead of Port Replicator, the two has been found.

I ran Windows 7 Enterprise on the Portege.
BIOS version is 3.30

Do you have a solution for me?

Hello

The HI-SPEED PORT REPLICATOR III PA5116E-1PRP supports 2 x USB 2.0 and 4 x USB 3.0 ports.
You n t special need Win 7 drivers in order to be able to use the USB ports or other interfaces such as VGA, DVI, audio, etc.

Sound problems, make sure that the audio device has been selected in the right panel-> sound-> playback tab

By the way: Win 7 needs USB driver 3.0 which is preinstalled when the laptop was equipped with USB 3.0 ports. My knowledge if your mobile phone does not support USB 3.0, you will be able to use the port replicator USB 3.0 ports.

Finally and above all devices must be connected before you start the computer. The decision supported and compatible specifications: Portégé R30 - A, Tecra Z40 - A, Tecra Z50 - A, Portégé Z30-A/Z30t-A, Tecra A50 - has

    Hello everyone,

I would like to get technical information as much as possible on (my) laptop Portege Z30-A-12N computer touchpad.
I am a Linux developer and I would like to add the support of the ALPS touchpad at the core, however, it seems
quite difficult to get hold of all documentation Tech.

So far, the only things I know is that the touchpad signals to kernel (via the E7 and EC PS/2 commands) so:
    E7 = 03 73 0 a., EC = b3 88 22

In particular, I need to know the model of the device, the ALPS PS/2 used and as much on Protocol version
the features of the device as possible.

    Does anyone have more information?
Or you could point me to?
    Any help much appreciated.

Buddy, I'm afraid that's not m put these questions.
First of all the touchpad isn't designed by Toshiba but 3rd party manufacturer: I guess its Synaptics or Alps.
In my opinion you should consult touchpad manufacturer/supplier for information

  • Portege Z30 16 GB with high speed Port Replicator III and two monitors - resolution

I have a Portege Z30 with 16 GB of Ram, connected to a Toshiba high speed Port Replicator III which is connected to two monitors running in mode extended.

The monitor attached to the first section of the video is 1920 x 1200 running.
However the second monitor is only show support for a maximum of 1280 x 1084.

The monitors are identical, and both are connected by DisplayPort cables.

I tried to lower the resolution and save the settings on the first monitor to see if it offered options on the second monitor, but the options remained the same.

At this point, I have narrowed down to 1280 x 1024 so that it conforms to all the monitors but would like to a plus-res solution.

Does anyone know if there is a fix/work-around for this?
If this is a hardware limitation, has anyone tried a USB 3 to DisplayPort adapter in a similar configuration?

    Thank you!

At the same time using two displayports?
I wonder how it is possible, because of my knowledge it is not possible... as far as I know the Port Replicator III supports two DisplayPorts but you could choose and use one of them...

In any case, you can use both with a lower resolution, I guess that this problem can be caused due to incompatible display drivers.
I suggest you to uninstall reinstall or update the display drivers and check if it helps

    Hello

Your laptop is USB 1.1 only and you must search another solution for better und for faster transmission of data between laptop and Ipod.

I agree with chain. Card PCMCIA USB 2.0 is best. You can buy in every PC shop but please buy quality and not a product without name at low cost.

  • Ports high speed USB Equium A100

I installed a webcam Advent (before exchanging it for a better creative). Part of the installation process involves installing a Microsoft's USB controller. (OS is Windows XP Home Edition). I uninstalled the ADVENT software when I got back to the webcam.

Since then, I started getting messages every time I plug a USB device, on a device high-speed, requiring a port high speed.

When I look in Device Manager, I have two sets of Bus USB controllers:

One includes 2 standard OpenHCD USB host controllers, 2 USB, 1 support 2 USB hubs and USB printing composite devices. Their drivers are dated 2001.

The other includes 1 class PCI USB 2.0 enhanced host controller and USB Root Hub Device 1. Their drivers are dated 2006.

I have 4 USB ports and all seem to be using the first series of USB controllers. If I disable one of the controllers, then various USB devices stop working.

As my laptop is only 18 months old, I would have thought that all USB ports are 2.0 version?

How can I 'forcing' the laptop to use the second set of controllers?

    Hello

I think that the biggest problem, it is you would waste more time to fix such a driver related issue then just entering the recovery CD and performing a recovery of your entire system.

Perhaps the fastest way to put little life back to your ports USB 2.0 high-speed. Otherwise, I had suggested to remove all ports from the Device Manager and let windows after a restart re-install all the drivers, but before perform the reboot it would be better to manually remove all THE drivers installed previously.

Maybe it helps, but if not he would have definitely better to perform the recustomization...

  • Unable to connect 2 external monitors via the Port Replicator using Portege Z30 - 16U

    Hi all

I need hell, I just moved from another laptop for Portege Z30 - 16U, I spent hours trying to connect my 2 external monitors to my Replicator Port Hi-Speed III 120W, but my laptop will see a monitor.

I used 2 external monitors with my laptop for years because I do a lot or reading and I don't want to use the one and the laptop screen.

I tried the mixture of a VGA and a HDMI and VGA cables, but nothing works.

Can anyone tell me how I can connect and discover 2 external monitors with this laptop and port replicator, I can't believe that this is not possible, it makes no sense that Toshiba would then technilogically behind other laptop manufacturers.

    Hello

I'm not familiar with the Z30 Portreplicator, but the general behavior of the replicators of the double-displayconnector, is that 1 can be used.
    Not 2 simultaneously.

I could be wrong, and you should easily be able to check it out - use only 1 at a time.
    First, then the other.
If the two works when used alone, then my suspicion is right.

    I hope this helps!

  • Portege M200: serial port does not work with port replicator

    Hello
    I have a Tablet m200 and the top mentioned dock/replication PA3314-1PRP port.
As the M200 has no serial port (rs232), I want to use the one on the docking station, but it is not recognized as a device on my tablet.

Thew network connections and usb ports all work fine and the lpt port is shown in Device Manager. I have restored the Tablet and it still does not recognize the serial port.
How can I get this port recognized so that I can use it.

    Thank you very much
    Lee

    Hello Lee

I just, I can confirm that when you use the Replicator port advanced III with Portege M200 several ports do not work. Problem is that Portege M200 does not support these interfaces.

This is a technical limitation and the port of mouse PS/2 port keyboard PS/2, serial port, I.Link (Firewire) port and DVI port will not be supported when Portege M200 is anchored on the Advanced Port Replicator III. :(

  • Portege Z30 / driver Audio Replicator + Touchpad scroll problems

    Hello.

I bought a Z30 and I'm pretty happy with it that I worked for years with the Thinkpads (+ Dock)
but there are a few light (more or less can be addresses as a driver) questions that I discovered.

    Notice: I use Win7 64.

    (1) with the Replicator Docking Station, I'm not able to remove the USB Audio device is currently running.
As you play a video or music. -J' looked for a newer driver (from C-MEDIA) as the standard Microsoft Driver may not be the best choice but I have found NO Win7 drivers for this device. The pilots of C-MEDIA only I found is Win8.

    (2) ALPS Touchpad (pilot)... EH... the material error only on this model really seems to be the touchpad. It is quite difficult to click on buttons AccuPoint (those under the keyboard) and drivers of touchpard are not flexible somehow. Gestures are not actually enforced as it should... seems to be as ALPS had to work on without a lot of time. Synaptics would have been a much better choice.
The driver cannot be adjusted to speed with scroll gestures and by default is AVERAGE... really ridiculous WAY to fast. In short, it is unusable for regular use. That the effects of tape, the gesture with two fingers and also the gesture of circle. He is desperately missing from a slider to change speeds. Or at least some indication of registry settings.

Also please advice DAPS to add finger 2 tap as a regular feature in the driver. It can be used without any problem after minor registry change and it works without any problem.

    (3) in the manual NFC is listed, but I have not found ANY Z30 Z40 (Tecra) model has / contain probably the NFC module. -I've seen in some photos the flexband connector (must be for NFC) above the battery is actually present. -There will be a few spare parts (Please give me the ID number /) in the future?

    (4) smart card reader driver problem: I'm using the latest drivers and after some time and sleep (with Intel Rapid Start) the player first must be deactivated and reactivated to rework. certutil.exe - scinfo unresponsive until I have disable and re-enable the device.

    (5) I am absent in BIOS/UEFI to exclude startup devices. -This is normally a must have feature.

I think that the user manual contain parts which refers to different models of Toshiba as Portege Z30-A/Z30t-A / Satellite Z30-A/Z30t-A

Some models are equipped with an NFC function, but can not say with certainty what models support this feature exactly.
It turns out that in many cases the m2 additional connector be responsible for these additional modules.

Regarding the mode of UEFI: check if the BIOS update would add it. Some portable computers taken over this function after that the BIOS updated.

  • Hi speed USB via a Port Replicator advanced for a Tecra 9100?

I have the same problem with a Tecra 9100 and upgrade to hi speed USB as a previous post where the proposed solution was to use a PCMCIA card.

    (see link: http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=24103)

I had an idea, but I don't know if it will work and need some advice?

Can you buy an Advanced Port Replicator that has Hi Speed USB 2.0 ports on it (like the PA3082U APR II that works with the Tecra 9100) instead of the PCMCIA card.

If the docks of Port Replicator in the motherboard will it give you Hi Speed USB 2.0, or is the Tecra 9100 forced to USB 1.1 via hardware in the laptop itself and the Replicator will not help?

Also if I go down the road of Port Replicator I need drivers for speed ports Hi of the Replicator to work on the Tecra 9100?

Or to ask the question – what is the PCMIA USB 2.0 card in that advanced with HI Port Replicator speeed USB is not?

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

the Tecra 9100 has NO usb 2.0 and it's a fact. Given that the Replicator has these USB ports 2.0 does not mean that your machine when it is docked to the Portrep, is able to manage USB 2.0 devices. The portrep, it's like a usb hub and behaves like. So if your machine doesn´t have it then that's it.

And the explanation on the PCMCIA/Cardbus solution:
The pcmcia card USB 2.0 Chipset, this is the reason why it IS a USB 2.0 device (roothub).

I hope this was clear to you :)

Just buy this card and you will have USB 2.0

    Welcome them

  • Portege Z30-C-12Z cam does not work with Win 10

    Hello!
I have a problem with my Portege Z30-C-12Z. Camera in win10 does not work.
Error code: 0xA00F4273. Have tried all the following steps: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/w...0-71c220c123a9 and like many more check the BIOS etc.

According to me, I tried and everything, checked it please help!

    Try this:
Type of storage in the search window and go to the storage system settings page. Make sure that the economy sites point to existing folders.
I moved the files on a SD card and the camera could not find the folder of photos. Also, I've seen the suggestion to check that the folder of photos contains the security settings to allow access.

If still no good, remove the driver of the webcam from the Control Panel, then let Windows Update to install a driver for the webcam update.

Reinstall the camera application can also help.

  • Having problems with ports USB 3.0 in computer option H8 - 1010 T

Well, I bought the option USB 3.0 ports on top of the computer on the computer mentioned in the Thread object and I have problems with them.

I tried plugging USB 2.0 devices in these two ports to "test" to see if they work, yet I am not able to get them to work with USB 2.0 devices. USB 2.0 is not compatible with USB 3.0 ports? Or I'm doing something other 'evil' here?

Unfortunately, I do not have a USB 3.0 device to plug USB 3.0 ports to make sure that it is certainly a problem with ports still.

The device in question I've tried in the USB 3.0 ports is a Microsoft Wireless Mouse 6000 wireless receiver. If the ports are not connected correctly, I would have assumed that the wireless receiver would have "blown" when I plugged it in, but it still works very well.

USB 2.0 devices are not compatible with USB 3.0 ports? I know that USB 3.0 devices are backward compatible with USB 2.0 ports (I have a friend who is in this situation), but I also thought that the opposite was supposed to be true as well. Am I wrong?

    @William

Check out this thread, seems to be the same problem you are having.

  • Problem with Port Forwarding (When PPTP is upward) in the WRT-160N

    Hello world!

I'm looking for more help with Port Forwarding in my new Linksys router. I bought the daysago afew router and was pretty surprised when I discovered that there is no DD - WRT firmware is installed in it (the router was 100% NEW when I bought it). I downloaded latest firmware original and flashed Linksys file successfully.

But I still have the problem (even that I was on DD - WRT firmware too) with the port forwarding for my DC ++ and Vuze (app from torrents): I wrote port forward for ports 49151 (for Vuze) and 4000 (for DC ++) to pass on to my desktop computer (IP 192.168.1.201) - I saw a post on this forum, that there could be a problem If you transfer to an IP address, which is within the local area of DHCP, so I forwarded to IP.201 (my local DHCPzone is 192.168.1.100-. 149) But does not forwardind (())

    What's wrong?

    My configuration:

    Router IP: 192.168.1.1

    PPTP (I my ISP)

    IP address: 192.168.226.127

    Default gateway: 192.168.226.2

    DNS 1: 192.168.1.1

    2 & 3 DNS: 0.0.0.0

The IP address of the PPTP server: 192.168.226.2

    User name: *.

    Password: *.

    _____________________

    Simple Port Forwarding:

Name of the external port application port internal protocol for IP address Enabled

    Vuze 49151 49151 times checked 192.168.1.201

    DC 4000 4000 checked two 192.168.1.201

As you mentioned in your post that your ISP has provided you with a PPTP connection with an IP address: 192.x.x.x. The IP address that is provided by your ISP is in a private beach, and if you try to transfer all the ports on your router, it will not work, as long as your ISP modem is blocking this port. If you need get a public IP address from your ISP.

As you get Private IP of your ISP, if this connection is called as NAT behind NAT and your Modem behaves like a router.

So now you have 2 options, get the public IP address from your ISP or change the type of connection.
