Portege Z830 - USB power off power on reboot

Whenever a reboot is performed (for example, from Windows or CTRL-ALT-DEL to the start-up of the PC) on the Z830, power to all the USB ports seems to be turned off for a few seconds, before then come back. Is it possible to avoid this behavior and keep the power to the USB ports during the restart?

Hello

I put t know if its possible, but please check if the Sleep and Charge feature is enabled in the BIOS or Toshiba HWSetup.
If you won't see a difference, Oh well, I guess that it s is not possible

Indicator DC IN (first on the left):
Flashing orange indicates a problem with the power supply, initially, you should try plugging the adapter into a different power outlet. If she does still not work, please contact Toshiba support in your country.

  • Alternative for Portege Z830 power Chargers

    Hello

    I've got PORTEGE Z830 - 11 M and with original 45W, 19V * PA3822U-1ACA * adapter.

Can I use to recharge more powerful 75W, the original TOSHIBA 19V * PA3468E-1AC3 * adapter, I have on another location?

Is this good for z830 or not and why? The only difference between them is power, I guess more is better (less heat for the charger) or not?

    Thank you for the answers.

For AC adapter Volt and ampere values are important.
Therefore, use a power adapter 19V. The value of intensity may be a little higher but shall not be less.

The form of mathematics for watt is: volts x amps = watts

  • How to usb power turn off mode 'sleep'? Yes were asked and no, it has not yet responded.

until someone says "its been answered" and "look at other messages ' u try these directions and let me know if it works. cause I did, and if you're smart enough, I'm sure you can understand my result of posting me my question as well.     I had older versions of windows (xp and 98) and when the computer was put in mode 'sleep' it wouldn't keep turn on/off devices.  Now in windows 7, it's a totally different story. What ould iw as is for the usb power switch off appliances like the old way. Francis IS at ALL possible? because of everything I've seen here, it DOES not work.  No, changing the thing selective usb to allow disabling power management GOLD DOES not work. NO, by checking or unchecking the checkbox in the Device Manager, etc., for the USB ROOT HUB to "allow the device to turn off the power" or whatever it says DOES NOT work either.  All what I want to know is, is possible to do this, turn off the power for something as simple as an external fan or a hard drive will be TURNED OFF like it USE TOO. Please do not post instructions on how to do the 2 steps that I mentioned. Really annoying because it's what keeps popping up for everyone to do and then you see inside people answer "N" T WORK."   And also do without consulting me the manufacturer for support, cause this is the problem of MICROSOFT, is not a problem of the Lim.  A lot of people have this problem, microsoft turns, find something here...

It is also for period of SLEEP mode. Yes I know he doesn't put into hibernation, and judgment, to my question here. That's the mode 'sleep'. Thanks for all who have comments/instructions USEFUL. Nice day

If you want to manage the setting through the registry, you can paste the following text in Notepad and save to a .reg file and import or manually create the keys.

    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\USB]
    "DisableSelectiveSuspend" = DWORD: 00000001

  • Battery discharge even if Portege Z830 is off

    I have a Toshiba Portege Z830-10F.

I have a question and a question about the consumption of the battery while the PC is turned off.

Which means that when I stop the machine, when I restart the device one day after (or during the night) my battery level decreased significantly (10-15%).

I even had the case where, after a period of 3 to 4 days, long weekend during which the aircraft had not been in service AT ALL, I could not reboot the computer, because the battery has decreased.

I had to plug in and then start it.

This seems rather odd and strange and would so whether there is a specific setting had to be changed so that it does not happen.

I upgraded to the latest version of the Bios (v 1.40) and that doesn't change.

I look forward to your help and your support.

    Stephan

    > Which means that when I stop the machine, when I restart the device one day after (or during the night) my battery level has declined significantly (10-15%).

This can result from certain options enabled in the BIOS.
For example option Wake up LAN or keyboard or power of dough at low level to use even if the laptop is turned off. Disabling this option might help with this problem.

  • USB 3.0 issues with Portege Z830 & Renesas electronic drivers

    Hi all

I have a Toshiba Portege Z830. Until today I have use any pendrive USB 3.0 external. I bought a Kingston HyperX, but when I try to use it, the port recognizes the drive, but disappears in a few seconds...

Also when I use a port USB 2.0 back, it displays the unit, but it cannot read the contents of the USB drive.

I checked in internet forums, and I see similar cases, but not a clear solution...

    More information:

    1. the disc works if I restart windows on SafeMode (Windows 7-64 bit)
    2. the disc works on other computers (without electronic drivers Renesas).

I think it's a problem of Renesas electronic drivers, but I've updated, installed the modern version, power usb change, etc. but no solution...

This ultrabook is an expensive appliance, as well as the USB key, and of course, this should be a solution...

    Thank you for your help

    Hello

I downloaded the latest 2.1.28.0 USB 3.0 v driver available from the Toshiba UE driver page.
The fichiers.ini (64 bit driver) contains information that this USB 3.0 host controller driver is developed by Renesas Electronics Corporation.

I read a lot about the problems of USB 3.0 as part of different devices to USB 3.
The questions are not related to a specific manufacturer for laptop or device in most of the cases it s a compatibility issue between the two devices, I think that's most of the time impossible to test all USB 3.0 flash drives, HARD drive, etc. with different controllers USB 3.0 for compatibility problems always seems

I found a 3rd party page where you can find a few other drivers USB 3.0 of Renesas and NEC. But the use of these drivers is at your risk and perils do not know if they work properly.
    http://www.station-drivers.com/page/Renesas.htm

I think you might have to force windows to use the specified driver, then first choose "Browse my computer dethrone" and then "Let me pick from a list of device drivers...". ». This must be done in the Device Manager.

Would be interesting to know how it works

  • Screen turns black and shuts off when wakes up Portege Z830 - 11M

    Hi all

Anyone know what could be the reason for the screen goes black and turns off when the laptop wakes up?
The laptop is Toshiba Portege Z830 - 11 M W7HP, purchased in September.

The problem started shortly after I bought the laptop, but gradually began with a period of 1-2 seconds black screen whenever I tried to wake the portable computer of fashion 'sleep'. He didn't look like a regular part "blackout" of the wake-up process so I just tried to ignore it, but it started to happen more often recently. It got really worse after two months of use and the black screen two or three times until I'm at the login screen. The error was also difficult to re-create because it was random. Sometimes, the screen went black once sometimes twice or just blinked for a fraction of a second.

Yesterday, I worked during the day and at night it turned really bad. The screen went black several times, whenever I went back to work after a short break.
I changed the laptop off when I'm done, but when I turned back on it in the morning, the screen was just black. I tried to use the touchpad, but it is only the screen on the gray.

Can anyone suggest what to do?

So finally that cannot start the laptop is Hmm normal?
It would be interesting to know if this help:
    -Battery adapter and ac removal
-Press and hold power button do this for 30 sec
    -Then reconnect both sides.
    Turn on the laptop?

If this is not good enough, you're in trouble I guess its hardware related issue and in this case you must service help

    Hello

You can check in the BIOS if the option called USB Sleep & Charge has been enabled or disabled.

Change this setting and save the changes. Then start again.

Check if you can see any improvement.

    Welcome them

  • 1.60 BIOS does not recognize the USB bootable in Portege Z830

    Hello
I have a Portege Z830 with BIOS version 1.60. It runs an operating system, ubuntu, (without a windows OS, it is not possible to upgrade the BIOS). I have a USB bootable (debian, created by copying a .iso image using dd) which works on other computers, but not on this one. With the USB at the top of the boot priority, it is not recognized as a device start-up and the computer boots from the HARD drive. The boot is in legacy mode, no UEFI (there is no switch in the menu of the UEFI/legacy BIOS).

Pointers how to allow a booting from a USB key on this computer?

    Thank you and best regards,

    James

As you probably know, Toshiba does not support Linux so you can't upgrade the BIOS under Linux OS.
Also, it is not available to be installed from USB.

It runs as an application and must be run under Windows running.

  • iPhone not charging when connected to the USB power adapter

Hello. I have a 5 s iPhone that I bought used a few months ago. It works very well.

Normally I charge it by connecting it to my Mac via a USB cable. Last night, I tried to recharge by connecting Apple USB power (also called a power outlet) adapter, which plugs into the wall, supplied with the phone. (Here's a link to the adapter if you are not sure what I'm talking about:.) When I connect the iPhone to the power adapter, I saw that the phone is charging - there was the small icon representing a lightning bolt near the battery of the iPhone.

However, when I woke up in the morning, the iPhone has been charged only 47%. I don't remember what the percentage was when I plugged into the power supply last night, but I don't think that the phone at that time was much less.

So I wonder: nobody knows what went wrong? Is there a way to make sure that the phone is loaded with the adapter?

    Thank you!

    M

If there is a symbol of bolt of lightning next to the battery icon, then the phone should be in charge.  If it is charging a single source, but not another, then the problem is with the unpaid source.  Try another adapter to confirm.

  • Equium P300-16 t - USB Power Port

My machine is less than 4 weeks old.

I recently bought a usb hub 2.0 4 generic ports for the system. When I plugged in (using the right side rear lane) I got my scanner and a USB connected. The scanner has not been turned on.

I found that if I tried to access computer or Windows Explorer they would hang with the 'not responding message '. After some bug I found that it was the hub 4 ports which was the problem because I could plug the memory stick into a port any and it worked fine.

I then plugged an old hub 4 ports (I had used with an old laptop and desktop) with the same features and it seemed to work although to be honest I've only tried in a port.

I contacted the seller and yes it was eBay and they suggested to try another port because it might be a power supply problem of the port and when I plugged on the left rear port that everything worked well, so thought it was.

This morning, I turned on and got an error that a usb device had failed and found it to be the hub. I then moved to the rear port of the right hand, that I had problems with initially and it works.

It would seem that the output power of the usb ports is fluctuating (know nothing about usb power levels) and just occasionally feeding the new hub (even if the led on the hub is turned on). Should I be concerned and can I do?

    Hello

AFAIK all USB 2.0 ports provides and support 500mA.
    It is a standard.

Some external USB devices require more power to work properly, and that's why the devices are equipped with external power supplies.
There are also devices that require more power just standard USB could provide, but devices with no external power supply.

In this case, it s a good idea to use a USB cable that can be connected to the 2 USB ports at the same time
My 2.5 USB HDD was delivered with this cable.

I remember that several USB hubs that also supports the external power supply and maybe you should try this hub

    See you soon

There are several 30GB iPod "classic" models (3rd gen - 5th generation), but if it's the 5th gen "video" iPod (the last 30 GB iPod), I an and it recharges a 5W power adapter.  In addition, it's the Apple 5W power adapter registration

    http://www.Apple.com/shop/product/MD810LL/A/Apple-5W-USB-power-adapter

and iPod 5th generation (video) on the list under compatibility.  The 4th generation iPod should also works very well.  The 3 rd gen iPod requires FireWire-base load; It will not charge with a USB connection.

I don't understand what you want to do? You want to replace a power supply Board usb on a with a dv6000 dv6700? If they have different reference numbers of HP that they are not interchangeable, and you run a high risk of frying the motherboard if you try to change the parts. Better we will help you find the part you are looking for.
