Portege Z930-102 - Igftext.exe caused an error

We have a problem with ultrabook Toshiba Portege Z930-102.
Ultrabook is connected with Toshiba Dynadock U3.0 with secondary DVI monitor like dispay.

Ultrabook comes preinstalled with WIn7 Pro X 64 from Toshiba with the last worm Intel display drivers. 8.15.10.2712. the problem occurs in only one scenario:

1 ultrabook is closed and connected to Dynadock with external DVI monitor, windows is rebooted the system restart and windows connect to the domain we have the message that * caused Igftext.exe* and error one, then the message that the Igftext module has stopped working. We tried the drivers from Displaylink version 6.2 update to the new version 7.144152.0, but nothing has changed.

This Ultrabook is already deployed for VIP and windows of opportunity for quick testing.

We are oppened to any constructive suggestion, thank you in advance.

Hello

It seems that it's not laptop problem.
Maybe his Intel issue because I found this thread in the forum Intel and it seems that this Intel igfxext.exe process hangs on mobile phones from other manufacturers too.
http://communities.Intel.com/thread/31920

I found another suggestion: just rename the file igfxext.exe to something like * igfxext.dat* and restart the laptop. It would be interesting to know if that helps.

I installed 64-bit Windows of 8.1 and when installing the driver 'H5321gw Ericsson for TOSHIBA' not recognized me and I get an error. I tried to install the version for Windows 7 and does not work.

I can tell it that the appropriate driver and where can I download it?

    Hello

What do you mean exactly by did not recognize me?
What exactly happens if you start the installation?

Driver Toshiba EU page provides 3 G driver Ericsson 8.1 victory and this driver works for sure!

You should be able to download the package 3gdrv - 20131021133141.zip
This package contains the TC00569300A.exe file.
It is also a package, so you should be able to unpack this TC00569300A.exe by right-clicking on the file and choosing the option: extract or unpack here. I use the WinRAR tool to unzip the zipped packages.
After the exe was unzipped, you will see the setup.exe.
Simply run this setup.exe to start the installation.

In Device Manager, you should be able to see the 3G device/module.
Also, you should be able to install the driver in Device Manager by using the Advanced installation procedure.

So I asked Windows if they can make updates or things that can help me to play the game normally. If you want to email me, my email is * address email is removed from the privacy *.  Thank you

  • Portege Z930-146: BSOD running Win 7 64 bit - support pointers and advice

    Hello

First post following the latter (academia / business) purchase of a Portege Z930-146 (serial number XC141056H, short PT235E part number).

Configured the pre-installation software 64 - bit W7, local installed, delivery to the primary user (the boss).

User reports 3 BSOD in a few days - I have the mini-decharges and made first order analysis using blue-screen display:

    PAGE_FAULT_IN_NON_PAGED_AREA (ntoskrnl.exe)
    SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED (dxgkrnl.exe)
    MEMORY_MANAGEMENT (ntoskrnl.exe)

We really are the guys from UNIX, so it is not familiar territory.

I just updated the BIOS but now have a long (50 +) list of possible drivers also be updated. One at a time to download and install?

I ran the diagnostics memory and disk - without errors or warnings that are reported.

Can someone identify a likely problem, or direct me gently in the direction of the road to official support of Toshiba please or suggest next steps?

    Thank you in advance,

    GLM

Ntoskrnl.exe is a Microsoft kernel boot and the dxgkrnl.exe seems to have something to do with the chart.

I recommend to check if the update of the display driver would improve the performance of the system.
Then visit the Toshiba UE driver page, select the Satellite Z930 PT235E and download the latest display driver Intel.
Z930-146 was equipped with chip Intel HD Graphics 4000, so you need the Intel driver.

You can also try to download the driver directly from the Intel page since they always provide the latest version.

  • Portege Z930 - BSOD kernel data by page fault

Recently (3 days ago) my girlfriend bought Portege Z930, and she becomes BSOD kernel data in error page, randomly (battery or AC).

Hardware config is: Core i3 Mobile i3-3217U, DDR3 4 GB, HD Graphics 4000, SSD 128 GB
Software: it didn't install new programs, using the trial version of office, Google chrome and windows 7 64 bit which was pre-installed. Anyone have any idea, what could be the cause of bsod? Preinstalled software from Toshiba? Hardware malfunction?

Also because off-topic information autonomy point is up to 5 hours (wifi on, light off, bright screen keyboard: 40%)

On this virtual path, it is not easy to say what may be the problem. In my opinion, you should make data backup and install the OS by using HARD drive recovery option.

After that do what you will have new own preinstalled OS. Test a few days without having to install anything just to see if the error appears again.

Installation of HARD drive recovery operation, you can read on http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD1303440001R01.htm

  • Audio choppy and distorted on Portege Z930 after update of Win7 for Win8 64

I just wanted to share a tip with you that cost me some time to work, about the sound reproduction of a Portege Z930.

    When I got my new Z930 - 14L, he was running Win7.
I tried everything like you do when you get a new machine and it worked fine - including the audio playback.

When I updated for Win8-64 since the CD that came with the computer, everything still seemed to work very well and I had not changed any driver or Setup.

However, after a few minutes, the linenn of audio playback. It choppy, distorted, interrupted, stuttering and I was shocked.

Oddly enough, as soon as I turned my attention to the computer again, reading was OK again - but no screen saver came and no power saving mode has come in so little time. I knew that this was no hardware problem (because it worked in Win7), it was not a driver problem (because the first 5 minutes, the sound was pristine), he was not a ground loop, (as many have suggested) because it sounds differently.

Thanks to another forum, I discovered that it is actually the combination of Windows Defender, Win8-64 Pro and the audio driver that causes this. If the device is idle for a few minutes, the Defender thinks it's a good idea to use idle time to scan the SSD - causing interference with audio playback. Of course, you cannot simply disable or stop the central antivirus process, that would ruin some the whole point. :-)

_So I installed Kaspersky suite on the machine (which automatically disables the Windows Defender) and the problem disappeared! _ it's probably the only time where the installation of an antivirus suite SOLVES a problem. :-)

BTW, this is not probably limited to this antivirus product, simply play a bit with the Defender.

    Best, Yuppie

    > Then I installed Kaspersky suite on the machine (which automatically disables the Windows Defender) and the problem disappeared! It's probably the only time where the installation of an antivirus suite SOLVES a problem.

Thank you much for sharing this details here in the community.
I guess that the information could be useful for others who have these problems of his fellow men.

    Hi Lao

Two models of laptops are very expensive and, in my view, it is not a value may damage something to do, some risks. Buy compatible SSD and ask the nearest riding services. OK a little cool, but you will be sure it will be done on the professional track.

Small error by disassembling can train with parts or smallholders plastic failure.

We have reduced by thinking, we are entitled to Win8 upgrade, but as we walked into our data on the Microsoft site - they told us we are not allowed.

We have tried to achieve the support of Toshiba in Russia - http://ru.computers.toshiba-europe.com/innovation/contact_toshiba.jsp
    Several times a month.

But all mails are back with the error "invalid recipient address.

How is it possible that support Toshiba official site is an invalid address blacklisted?
How is it possible that Toshiba laptop recent and rather expensive subject program of upgrade of Windows 8?

    Thank you.

    Hello

Please check this page how to upgrade to Win 7 to 8 Win:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/innovation/generic/Windows8-upgrade-stepbystep

The point is that you must order Windows 8 from Microsoft and install it.
If it fails, contact Microsoft why the order to win 8 failed.

Of my knowledge Toshiba provides a Win 8 drivers. You can get this driver TOSHIBA Upgrade Wizard, but you can do this after the installation of Win 8!

I found this page Toshiba win 8 Win 8 upgrade information

  • Portege Z930: How to install Win 7 after the installation of Win 8

    Hallo!

There are a few weeks upgraded Toshiba Portege Z930 to Windows 8. Before the upgrade made the backup of Windows 7 on USB flash and it worked. Now recovering Win8 to Win7... Recovery starts fine - choose 'out of box' recovery and get ERROR 05-0172-0001.

How to return to Windows 7?

    Hello

I guess that your BIOS contains the option to switch between the UEFI and BIOS of the CSM.
It must therefore return to the CSM BIOS and must disable secure boot if it has been previously activated.

Then you can reinstall Win 7

  • How to partition my new Portege Z930 HARD drive?

    Hi all

I recently bought the Toshiba Portege Z930. I would like to create a new partition (for example D: /) on your hard drive, to store data, music, etc., and let the current C: / drive only for the use of the operating system.

The problem is that I can't follow the normal procedure of partitioning my HD (via the Windows disc or by other software such as EaseUS Manager) because my Portege Z930 already has 4 primary partition created by default! Namely, these are:
    -1 1.46 GB recovery partition
    -1 8 GB hibernation partition
-1 (hidden) 9.96 GB primary partition and finally
    -1 219 GB main partition

As said, there are currently 4 primary partitions, which corresponds to the maximum number of primary partitions, I have. To create a new partition, one of these 4 must be transformed into a logical partition.

I don't have to know if such a thing would be correct, or it would be the cause of the problems of the operating system etc. Also, I don't know which of the 4 above is more appropriate be transformed into a logical partition...
I tried to contact Toshiba but the contact is very difficult with them.

    (1) does anyone have an opinion well informed about this?... happened... ?
    (2) I should I turn one of the 4 primary partitions above in a logic (and if so, where?)
    (3) what is the use of 4 partitions mentioned above?

Thanks in advance for your comments,

    Hello
Windows 7 is pre-installed on this laptop?
Windows 7 needs the first (1.46 GB) partition to store files for the repair of the system.
For example: in case something goes wrong with the Windows 7 system is able to automatically repair and this backup files on that partition. Don t touch!

The primary partition (hidden) 9.96 GB seems to contain the image of Toshiba files.

These image and music files is very important in the case where you want to create the Toshiba recovery disc (or USB) or you want to retrieve the laptop using Toshiba HDD recovery option. Don t touch if you haven't created the recovery disc!

The main score of 219 GB seems to be the system partition. This partition contains the Win 7 OS.
The 8 GB partition is not known to me but you wrote there seems to be a hibernation partition. Maybe its required for hibernation data.

However, first I recommend you to create a recovery disk.
It is an essential environment where you want to set the laptop back to factory settings.
You can change the partitions on the HARD disk.

In General, you can have 3 primary and 1 extended partition or 4 primary partitions.
Extended partitions can contain logical partitions for example: private data.

  • Dumprep.exe causes slow performance

Anyone have any suggestions on how to fix Dumprep.exe causing the slow performance?

    My XP is slow recently.

    Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks in advance for your suggestions

It's the dump reporting tool and it runs when some program/process causes an error in the system. Therefore, you should know what that the root of the error and fix it. Since you told us nothing about your computer and its recent history, here is general information on troubleshooting a slow computer:

Some reasons for the slow pace of the computer:

    1. computer has not been maintained - http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Maintenance

    2. the computer is infected with the malware - http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Removing_Malware

    3. the disk is too full. Remove useless stuff, uninstall unused programs. Do not forget to save!
    http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/page2.html#Backing_Up

    4. flaky third party software. Toolbars and modules are particularly guilty in this area. Uninstall toolbars (Google, Yahoo, ISP brand, etc) and look at what modules are in use in your browser (s).

    5. computer has too many unnecessary programs/processes running in the background. Manage your Startup:

For XP - How to troubleshoot using the Msconfig in Windows XP utility - http://support.microsoft.com/?id=310560
The free Autoruns program is very useful for managing your Startup - http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sysinternals/default.mspx

For Vista/Windows7 - Start Orb > Search box > type: msconfig and when it appears in the results area above, right-click and choose 'run as administrator '. Autoruns is also very useful.

    6. the user runs an inflated/invasive such as Norton and McAfee antivirus program. Replace it with a better program. I recommend NOD32 (commercial) or Avast (free). Avira is also good, but the free version has an unpleasant reminder screen (Google for instructions on how to disable it). The user can also run several real-time antivirus/firewall/security programs.

    7. the user has installed new programs that are processor and/or memory-intensive (Photoshop, AutoCAD, Mathmatica or similar) and does not have the power of the equipment.

8 drive fails and is in PIO Mode (IDE only - not applicable for disks SATA drives). It's very much slow (like being in 1985). See Hans-Georg Michna here information -http://winhlp.com/?q=node/10

If the hotfix registry PIO only 'glue' (or you have a SATA drive), the drive is probably faulty and needs to be tested.
