Presario V5002ea random reboot and scrambled screen

Hello

I ahd my Presario V5002ea for about 4 years with no problems at all. I started it this morning and everything was fine until it restarts all of a sudden. When the computer reboots, it seemed fine until the scrambled screen (vertical lines in a blue-gray) and finally the system rebooted again. This seems to be a hardware fault possible for me that it happens randomly.

I can't start in safe mode without reboot or run any form of diagnosis. Any ideas as to what the problem may be and it will be fixable or is it time for a new laptop?

Well, it seems that the video chip on the motherboard has gone bad. If you are handy with a screwdriver, it's too cheap to get a replacement motherboard (maybe $100) but it is not something to try as your first foray in laptop repair. Have a shop do the replacement would cost about $200-300, which approximates the cost of a new phone.  Try an external monitor, but if it's rebooting it is not likely to be just the screen of the control panel and a replacement screen Panel is at roughly the same cost for a replacement motherboard, anyway ($100 for DIY) and about $175-200 for a workshop, parts and labor. Bad memory can also cause the symptoms you describe, then you can also try the new memory or simply remove each module in turn and try each module in each location. 4 years is a pretty good life for a laptop, believe it or not. Newer models are so fast and cool you can't miss anyway.

  • ThinkPad Yoga 14 random reboots and keyboard stop

I am a Yoga Thinkpad 14, which was purchased on January 6, 2016, Lenovo. The thinkpad is still under warranty. Lately, I've known random interruptions and blockages of the keyboard. I'm just browsing as usual. It was very well but is not a problem. I get 3-4 stops per day. The battery is under voltage, and it does not matter if the power cord is connected or not. It is not a problem of sleep or the issue of closing lid. It is stopping or blocking, and I don't know when he's going to do. I ran the diagnostics LSC and everything was fine. No error code. I think this could be a hardware problem as no new software or hardware was loaded and it was OK for 6 months so far. Can I submit a service request, but before that, are there any suggestions?

The problem was that it was intermittent. I couldn't replicate the application myself. They had the laptop for a day. They ran a huge list of diagnoses and nothing came. So I think that it is more beneficial for them to replace the card. I can't blame them for not to isolate the problem. I sent the laptop in Tuesday. Get it back on Friday. So if yours is still under warranty, I would go in that direction. However most probably they will return the drive to stock up. I so copy all my data off in advance. Easy enough to do with a drive hard dock

  • HP Pavilion dv7t-6100: switch to ATI RADEON video card. Hang, reboot, and white screen.

    Hello.

I was using my laptop as usual, and like many other times I have tried to swich for High Performance video card.  At this time, Windows crashes; So I had to press the power button a few seconds until the computer turns off.

Then, when I turned it on:

-Anything on the screen (on the screen of the computer laptop and external monitor)

    -Cannot access BIOS

-No boot sequence (operating system does not)

-Led is ON (without LEDs + turn signals)

-Keyboard unresponsive (caps lock led for instance does not change when I press on it)

I tried several suggestions "base" that I found on the Internet with no luck:

-Unplug the power cable, remove the battery

-Remove the battery from the BIOS, RAM, HARD drive

-Press the on switch / off 60 seconds

So I guess something is dead here.  Could it be that the RADEON card no longer works?

When the computer is turned on, what card uses by default?

Is it possible (not through BIOS, not through OS) to specify to use the integrated graphics card Intel? Removing the RADEON card (is that even possible)?

    Thanks in advance.

  • Major problem with artifacts, reboots and black screens.

    1 HP m7790y

    2 Vista 32 bit

    3. no error message or the BSOD.

    4. no changes have been made recently.

For about a month now, sometimes my computer shows a bunch of objects on the screen and the visuals will not change, but I think that my keyboard and mouse always work. I can do CTRL + ALT + DELETE and that the screen appears with no artifact, but as soon as I get by, artifacts return and the escape sequence does not work yet. If I have a video course or music, I hear a little, but then it gets screwed up. Then my computer is doing something akin to fade, but it is not. The GPU of the fan stops going, the screen goes black, and only the power light on my pc is on. Most of the time I have to press the power button and then turn back on again. Sometimes it restarts itself and shows a screen asking me how I want to start up.

I used the HP Hardware Diagnostic tools and tested everything, but there is no errors for what it is. I can even play video games for long periods of time very well (Rome: Total War, The Walking Dead, Mass Effect 3, Company of Heroes). If the problem will occur, sometimes in the first 5 to 10 minutes of me having the computer. I've used Furmark with stress tests and there is no problem.

I found another card that is the same model and use. Everything has been working fine (except for some BS that I won't get into ati catalyst graphics).

Thank you very much for your help!

  • Satellite Pro 6000 freezes and the screen is weird random pattern

    Hello

I recently bought a SP6000 second-hand advertised as having "graphics problems". After 10 minutes or use the laptop freezes and the screen has a strange random pattern all acorss it. The speakers are also a strange hum. I have to stop the laptop and restart.

I've updated the bios and drivers for card video from the toshiba site, but he always does. Can anyone help?

    Hello

It's not easy to say why this problem occurs. You have purchased a second hand unit. It is possible that your device has a hardware malfunction, but I can't give you an answer why it is happening. I suppose that temperature increases after 10 min of use.
Maybe this could be a problem. It could also be a fault of the motherboard. But these are just suggestions. In my opinion, you should ask the service for detailed information.

Have you checked the settings > General > accessibility > greyscale > power off.

If this does not work ty settings > General > accessibility > zoom > on. Triple, tap the screen with three fingers. Tap choose filter. Click None. Triple, tap the screen to get rid of the menu zoom. If you have enabled greyscale in zoom you can disable it in zoom.

    Hello

"beep" codes normally indicate a hardware problem / failure.

Go to your computer manufacturer's website and look at the specifications of your PC to see what BIOS you have

Then read this on the 'beep' error codes to try to see what failed:

    http://www.computerhope.com/beep.htm

    http://www.pchell.com/hardware/beepcodes.shtml

    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/nonworkingcomponent/HT/beepcodestb.htm

If you are unable to determine the hardware problem yourself, contact the manufacturer if under warranty.

If it is not under warranty, find a good repair shop premises to take.
