Printer busy or error

I have a Konica Minolta magicolor 2300DL on a private network. I have connected my HP Presario cq70 laptop to the network. It is running Vista Home Premium 32 bit. Can I print a page the printer integrated from my web browser, but I can't print anything using the Windows spooler. The message "Priner busy or error" appears.
The appropriate driver is installed (I had a 1 1/2 hour help call with Konica), I turned on then user account control and I have flight race printer Microsoft Diagnostics program, it finds no problems.
Other facts which may be relevant; VirtualBox is installed and that is running Windows XP (but no printers are attached). There are 2 user accounts, the problem existed before and after the creation of the account for the 2nd.
I can not print!

What's more interesting to me is that you are able to print a test page from the browser (which is where I assume that the software of the printer is accessible).  This means that there is nothing wrong with the devices of connection or ports (or cables).  It MUST be something with the installation program (perhaps the sequence of events--some want the connected printer by installing the software, firmware and driver and others are absolutely not - depends and I found some information that can guide us.)

The LED on the printer is on?   I guess it must be if it can print a test page, but I'm just thinking out loud here.

This is a long document on how to install the printer: http://onyxftp.mykonicaminolta.com/download/SearchResults.aspx?productid=993.  If you haven't already done so, I would download and review to ensure that not only you have the right settings (both on the printer and the computer and the network), but you did things in the right order - I've experienced situations where this can make all the difference.

What I find interesting is that even though they have drivers for Vista, they have not all utilities for Vista - I wonder if the lack of these utilities can be part of the problem?  If they you have firmware or software, I find no download for replacements (unless they are more generic and are found elsewhere, but there is no mention in the special section dedicated to your account).  You say you access via the browser controls - it's a html software or what type of programs file?

The iuser guide (located further down on the page where the installation guide) can also be helpful because it can explain how to use the controls on the printer itself.  As far as we know, the problem may be with one or more of these parameters that are perhaps not accessible otherwise except directly on the printer itself.

If we put in place the printer in order to bypass the spooler, which may not be the issue (unless it must ALSO be set on the printer itself - I do not know and to be honest do not have the time to read hundreds of documents page when I can't work with the programs on the computer and the printer at the same time - if I was there) which may be different but this distance thing makes it much more difficult than troubleshooting and assistance in person.

In any case, I look forward to hear any progress you have made (especially after the escalation of the problem).  I read an article about someone who was not able to print (at all - not even the test page) and its solution was whether services and they found and replaced a faulty or any adapter and that solved the problem.  I'm not quite ready to call a hardware problem at all, but it is certainly one of the toughest printers that I've ever tried to help install.

Good luck!

  • Printer busy or error; When you work on Windows Server

I'm working on a persistant problem with a specific printer where I work. A bit of history: first of all, this printer is used by users on WYSE thin clients connecting to a Windows Server 2008 R2 virtual via a RDP session, however, some users connect using Windows 7 Professional. It is a network printer on our corporate domain installed as a local printer on a print server, as well as a local printer on the RDP server in use by the users of the thin client. Now the printer works perfectly for print test pages, Word Documents, etc. However, the problem arises when my users need to print PDF documents, for which they mainly use Adobe Acrobat 2011, although some also use the latest version of the reader (we update player generally that the new versions are available). When trying to print, the print queue will say coil (page 1/2/3, etc.), and then it will immediately change state of printer busy or error. When this happens, until the job is canceled, no other jobs will process, regardless of the type of document. And to further complicate things, one of the main users of this printer says that's not yet each PDF, some and it doesn't seem to be a constant difference between those who does not print and those who will be. The printer in question is a Xerox Workcentre 7345, and I tried to install the latest drivers, PS versions both PCL6 and attempted to use the driver for the Fiery controller, all giving the same result. I installed the printer as a shared printer on the network on the print server, and I installed it locally on the RDP server. Both lead to the same "occupied or printer error. I also tried bypassing the spooler and print the document as an image, both of the separately and with the two parameters defined. I am at a loss, and my users can use is more reliable for this printer to print PDFS... I would like some suggestions on what to do at this point. Thank you.

    HP PSC 2210 all-in-one

    No error message

No changes made to the system

I am trying to print business cards using Avery 2 faces of business cards printable 5876.

When I print a test out of my biz on plain paper # 20 cards and adjust the settings so, everything goes well and a walk test using the regular stock # 20 everything comes out great!  But when I put in the stock cards Avery and hit go, the printer goes much more slowly while the scenario and images very dark with excess of toner on the card only stock.  But not on the paper stock. Why is this?

Should I should change the settings for the automatic printer paper what setting for business cards?  If so, in what context? -Special papers, greeting cards, paper brochure or what?  PLEASE NOTIFY.

    Thank you

    Scott

Hmm...  I just did a search on the card stock you use, it is designed for laser printing, do not ink jet.  That being the case, I suggest to try the thick paper or plain paper for the paper type.  The product of 8877 Avery may be a better choice for your inkjet printer.

  • I am trying to print business cards

I just bought a HP Photosmart C4480 all-in-One. I tried to print business cards using the type of stock perforated (equivalent to Avery L7414).

I can't match the top margin so that printing starts within the perforated area. If I use plain paper that it lines up properly. When I use the cardstock I get different higher margins even if I do not change the setting. It's like as if the map is slippery in the printer after it gets taken up by the rollers and prior to printing. Advice please on what to try a solution?

Always looks like a mechanical problem, however changing software shouldn't solve the problem if this was true. In any case, I'm glad that you were able to find something that works. My last word of the Advisor; stick with what works.

  • HP ENVY 7640: all new HP ENVY 7640 gets msg "Printer busy" when you try to fax doc to computer

All the functions of the printer I checked so far work very well: copy, fax directly from the printer receive fax, scan to computer, etc..  But I get msg "Printer busy" when you try to fax doc to computer.  My installation conforms to guide: distinctive ring (double ring), I phone DSL and voice on the same line, using same USB cord and USB installation as I did with my just-replaced Officejet 6500 a.  Line number two.  When I call the number assigned to fax from my phone it double rings and sends fax tone.  Why get 'Print occupied' msg?

Thank you, for your advice Sanal.  It was good advice, but it was the same steps that I had performed several times over the last few days.  It was also the same steps as your colleagues made when they took my computer in 12 hours of chats on Sat, 10-1.

After submitting an online support request, fill out an information form and obtain a case number that I got phone contact (888-747-8338) yesterday (Thursday 10-7) w/another of your colleagues (Dennison) and during a 2 hour session he did not recommend, without success, then uninstalled the 7640 WANT and also the old HP 6500 has software installation re-installed, always without success.  Finally, he decided to reset the printer, a procedure that is not in any documentation I have or which has been described in troubleshooting online that I could find on your website, but it is true, my research is not comprehensive, just a vast.  It was something I had to do it manually, with Dennison tell me over the phone how to proceed using the console printer poster and associated buttons.  I had the feeling that it was a last resort, and fortunately, he finally managed!  I can now fax documents from my computer!

Sorry to not return you earlier, you may have resulted in the same solution over time, but it would have taken to always back and forth.  In any case, thank you for your response.

  • LaserJer Pro 200 M351nw: residues of toner to print business cards

When I print on bond paper, I get a decent, crisp image. But when I print on card stock thre is a powdery residue on the paper. I can drag it with a handkerchief and get a significant amount of powder on the tissue.

I remember reference to paper stock that is sutiable for color lasers, but I can't find it all in stock business cards anywhere I looked. It is apparently a special paper.

I went through the type of paper in the printer properties. The only problem is when I print business cards. Is currently trying Avery 5876 and 8876 and Office Depot 3700-R. The 5867 and 3700-R are labeled for use in color lasers. The 8876 is inkjet. Same negative results with all.

All proposals/solutions would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi @1071 ,

I see by your post only when printing on cards, you get powdery residue on the paper.
I want to help you solve this problem.

You have the Laserjet LaserJet Pro 200 M251nw?  How can I find my model number or product number?

Usually, when there are residues, burrs, tasks of toner left on the pages is caused by the paper used or the type of paper selected in the printer driver. You already tried different types of paper and had the same results.

The Avery 5876 you tried are Laser printers.

It is recommended to use bright white paper or paper that is designed for use in Laser printers.
Don't use paper that is designed only for use with ink jet printers.
Progress of paper is porous and for printers inkjet that absorbs ink in the paper.
Paper Premium isn't for Laserjet printers. Chemicals and the ink soaks into the paper and takes more time to dry.
Use paper that is not too rough. Generally using smooth paper translates into a better print quality.

I have provided the specifications of paper for this model.

Specifications for HP LaserJet Pro 200 M251n and M251nw color printer.

Up to 200 g/m2 (110 lb. index) cards

I have a document with a few steps to try to see if this will solve the problem.

    Troubleshooting print quality problems.

What is the weight of the cardboard?

What parameter for the type of paper do you use?

If you need help, let me know.

    Have a great day!
    Thank you.

  • HP Officejet Pro 6830: Get the printer and the message "the printer into an error state" will not be printed

Just received this printer refurbished HP 2 weeks ago to replace the one who had a problem with printhead.  Printing worked initially, but now I get the message "the printer into an error state" when I try to print.  The screen at the front of the printer automatically turns off as well, as he is extinguished.

    Hi @M45,

Thank you for joining the Forums of HP Support!

I see that you are unable to print because the printer is in an error state. I will definitely do my best to help you and don't forget to come back to this thread and mark "Accept as Solution", if I have successfully helped solve you the problem. If you want to say 'Thank you' to my effort to help, click on the "thumbs up" to give me a Kudos.

I would like to do a hard reset to see if that will solve the problem.

    1. Let the printer and disconnect the printer cable and the wall socket for 60 seconds.
    2. Reconnect the power cable to the output of the printer and the wall, and not a surge protector. This ensures that the printer is full on and can help this situation.
    3. Make sure that the printer is connected directly to a wall outlet (do not use a bar or a surge protector).

If there's an error message displayed in the menu on the front panel, before the display of the printer turns off?

Please download and run the print and Scan of the doctor, it will be probably diagnose and fix the problem you are experiencing.

    • What were the results when you ran the printing and scanning doctor (she print or scan, error messages)?
    • Click here to update the firmware of the printer with a USB connection.

If you have completed all the above steps and your product still has a problem, service the product.

    Check the warranty status: http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/wc/public/home
Cost of repair out-of-warranty printers may apply.
What you can do, is to use the following link to create yourself a file number, then call and it can help to expedite the appeal process:
Step 1. Open the link: http://support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp

  • HP psc2100 series all-in-one: printer was working fine, all of a sudden its impasse on copy and will not be printed said export error

computer printing problem saying "Error exporting" and printer saying just 1 copy.  I tried troubleshooting on mine, doesn't have the verified maintenance on the printer, but still saying error. Help, please!

    Hi @kelley22,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I see that your HP PSC 2100 printer is stuck on copy and will not be printed on Windows 8. I'm happy to help you!

The first step, I would like to recommend is a hard reset. Please see this message, How to perform a hard reset, by @Rich1. It is very important that the power cable from the printer is plugged directly into the wall outlet, not a surge protector. See this article, questions when it is connected to an uninterruptible power supply/Strip/surge protector power, for more information. This is true for printers and ink jet.

Once this step is finished, please try to print a self-test report, to check the printer hardware is fully functional.

To print a self-test report, follow these steps:

    • On the product control panel, press Setup.
      The installation menu appears.
    • Press the right arrow ( ) until print report displays and then press OK. The menu print report appears.
    • Press the right arrow ( ) until the self-assessment report and press OK. The self-test report prints.

If the test report print, then on the computer, please try our HP print and Scan Doctorand let me know what happens!

Hope this helps and have a great day!

    Hi Jkoryzna,

Thank you for choosing the Microsoft Answers forum.

To solve the problem, fix the dependency for the spooler service information.

Click Start, run and type the following text:

CMD /K SC CONFIG SPOOLER DEPEND = RPCSS

Alternatively, to achieve this by using the Registry Editor:

Click Start, run and type Regedit.exe

    Navigate to the following branch

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE-SYSTEM-CurrentControlSet-Services-spooler

In the right pane, double-click the DependOnService value

Delete existing data and then type RPCSS

    Close Regedit.exe.
