Printer frozen

I tried all the performance and the maintenance process to try to get my printer doesn't work.  It is as if it is frozen in place when the paper passes through the machine and out to halfway with no printing and will not continue to process through.  Everything then hangs and nothing has worked.  If youe have any suggestions I'd be realllllly appreciate it!  Thank you!!!

I have installed and uninstalled the software several times, unplugged, disconnected from the power cords, checked for paper jams, cartridges, asked the printer politely please work and nothing works.

What I am doing wrong?

Thank you for your reply Brian!

I have Windows 7 and you are using a wireless network while a HP 4500 printer G510.  I use a wireless network, and nothing has changed in my environment.  I heard a gasping noise as a document was printing and after that it essentially freezes in place.

My printer is very different from yours (a Samsung color laser), but I
had a similar problem about a year ago. It has proved to be a failure
in the printer, and I had to take it to a Samsung repair center
to get the part replaced.

I'm not sure sure your question is as mine was, but you
should certainly consider. Why not call HP and ask
them what they think the problem can be?

  • HP Envy 4500: Error Message and printer frozen, power cycling does not solve

I used my desire 4500 for several years without incident until this week where she had to do a scan and alignment on each startup and now it is frozen in case of error 0XB05C7A4E. Power cycling results in the same error and none of the buttons respond. What should I do to solve this problem? The printer is less than 3 years! The cartridges are HP brand and news.

Well, if you can't solve the problem by following the instructions above... the printer is probably toast. If under warranty call HP.

  • Queue the printer frozen

Using microsoft word on a PC - my printer mark is stuck on a single document.  I tried to cancel the document and cancel all documents and it is still in the queue with the "removal" after more than 10 minutes.  How can I remove the document and delete the queue?

To clear the print queue, stop the print spooler service and delete all the pending print files.

You cannot delete all print jobs in the queue so that the Print Spooler Service is running.

To stop the Print Spooler Service, click Start, run and enter in the box:

    services.msc

Click OK to open the Services Applet.

Locate the Print Spooler Service, right click and choose 'Properties' and then click on the "Stop" button to stop the Print Spooler Service is running.

The option "Startup Type" of Service properties print spooler is usually set to "Automatic" (which is now a good time to check it out).

If the "Startup type" is not set to "Automatic", set the "Startup type" to "Automatic" If that is your desire (which now is the time to check it out).

Do not try to start or restart the Print Spooler Service again...

Then, delete all updates pending upward and forward to printing from XP.  If they do not print before, you will need to send the to the printer again.

Using Windows Explorer, navigate to the following folder (assuming that Windows is installed on your C drive):

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\PRINTERS

Delete all the print jobs in queue (select and delete all the files) in the folder if the folder is without waiting for print jobs.  The folder must be empty when you are finished.

Reboot your system and check the Print Spooler Service again to make sure the Print Spooler Service restarts automatically restart (given that the startup type is set to automatic).

After the reboot, check again the spooler service for printing and the 'Status' column for the print spooler must be read "started."

Submit new failure of print jobs.

  • my hp printer is frozen at "shutting down". can you help me?

My hp DeskJet 3050 has is frozen at "shutting down" on the screen.  Can you help me?

    1. Check that the power supply output works with a lamp or other device.
    2. Check the power supply cord and power are good parts for this printer.
    3. Remove the electric cord and power printer and taken power module. Separate power cord and module (let sit for 15 seconds)
    4. Plug the cord into the (taken firmly together) Power Module
    5. Plug the power cord with module directly into the wall outlet (remove any surge protector or extension cord and connect the printer directly to wall outlet cable)
    6. Check if the power supply cord or a module has LED light.
      • If ALLOWED to make sure it's well of color (if not glowing then replace module and power cord)
      • If no light go to step 7.
    7. Plug printer - make sure that it is connected correctly and firmly.
    8. Press power button / power off printer to power upward. If do not turn on the first time button works / stop several times to see if it works.
    9. If you happen to have another printer with the same configuration of power cord (corresponds to the form) try again steps 1 through 8.
    10. IF the printer will power not to this point, then replace the printer.

  • my printer is frozen.

I have a point in QC.  It is frozen and says deletion = print.     I turned the computer off, I unplugged the printer twice.

so now I can't print anything again.   It will not delete or print.  just will not work.

You may not do step B if your printer works after cleaning of the print queue.

    A. Clean on print jobs pending

    • Open a command prompt window (start > run > cmd > OK)
    • Type the following in the black command prompt window, and then press ENTER after each line

    net stop spooler
    del/q '% windir%\system32\spool\PRINTERS\*.* '.
    net start spooler
    output

    B. clean the old printer drivers and install the latest drivers by using the directions in One Article.  If you have (or had) a Lexmark printer, follow the instructions on this site before installing the new drivers, as explained in its first Article: http://members.shaw.ca/bsanders/CleanPrinterDrivers.htm

  • Frozen printer HP C309a

My printer has frozen and does not allow me to scan, print, etc.  I unplugged the power cable during 60 seconds to try to reset and it still does not work.  When I try to turn off the printer using the power button / stop, Flash them to the printer and the printer turns on.

If the printer is not responding, then try the steps outlined in the document located here.

If you follow the steps outlined in the document and the problem persists, then try to perform a partial reset on the printer.
Unplug the unit when turned on
    * Wait 30 seconds
    * Press and hold # and 3 and plug in
    * Buttons to exit after the unit starts to turn on
    * Follow instructions

    I hope this helps.

  • Why is my blurry print product?

    Hello

Today, I received two prints by frozen Apple 20 x 30 cm (automatic size).

The thing is, they are really blurry and have a huge lack of detail.

    I ordered the the course Photos-app 1.5 (370.42.0).

The files that I used are .tif to around 80 MB →, this could be the problem?

It may seem that the files have been reduced and then enhanced...

So I should try again with JPEG?

In addition to the colors are not as bright bright on the screen (I know on the screen, they are always brighter)

So I have to ask: does Apple feel even support ProPhoto RGB?

It may be, but it would be an easy solution for my future orders.

Important information: I'm living in Germany, so the products have been printed in the Netherlands

Thanks for the advice or solutions, so I'm going to have better results next time.

It may seem that the files have been reduced and then enhanced...

It's the cause - it is not possible to increase the pixel size f photo without reducing the quality of the picture - if your original photos are not enough large then you must use small images feel - upscaling will not succeed

So I should try again with JPEG?

The best possible results would be with original photos

Apple Print even supports ProPhoto RGB?

No - photos must be sRGB

  • Example: Front panel frozen L7780

My L7780 inkjet printer was working fine until today. Now, the façade has frozen - including the button ON / OFF.

I did twice a partial reset of its internal software (STOP - press and hold # and 6 while you insert the power cord) and it seemed to work until I went to Setup - network - wireless. It finds my network and partially printed a document from my PC. But then frozen again.

I tried, several times, powering down / turn on the power, including external power supply is disconnected. But nothing does not provide a permanent solution.

Is there anything else I should try or is the L7780 irreparably?

Try to reinstall the software/firmware told me that the L7780 is found on the network.

Well, after struggle with the L7780 for several hours (I've given up counting...) I decided to recycle and have bought a new printer!

You'll be happy to learn that it is another HP product. I hope this works as well as the L7780 did until it becomes terminal. HP has, I'm happy to say, to improve the quality of their software, which was a disaster when I had everything first to reinstall...

  • Photosmart HP 6510: Black print failed

I have a HP Photosmart 6510, which will not print black - pages of text, sound as if they are printing, but the page comes out blank. Watch as the color test page, but not black.  There is no error message.  Black print cartridge is full and I have applied all recommended maintenance procedures.  I'm going to disassemble the printer (which is out of warranty) and the print head to check the visible obstructions before deciding to give up completely and use my backup of Canon.  Can anyone suggest any other remedies or advice on removal of the print head?  Thank you.

Thanks for your suggestions.  I removed and cleaned the print head, but the problem remains unresolved.  I did more research and decided to go deeper into the printer to access tubes empty below the print head.  I couldn't find all the instructions more complex procedure on the HP site or elsewhere online, so most of the work was intuitive.  I managed to remove the 'well' below the print head complete with 4 vacuum tubes, and it was immediately obvious to me that the black ink tube was clogged.  I went to clean the whole by immersing in hot water and using a syringe to flush out the tubes.  I cleaned too much ink frozen since sponges of drain that receives the excess ink from the vacuum system (no doubt mostly print head last cleaning operations).  After drying of the parts and reassembling the printer, everything is back to the fully functional State.

I was amazed at the amount of vitriol expressed by users of the forum to HP for what seems to have been a recurring problem with these printers.  It seems incredibly useless to throw a sound mechanical printer because of a dried ink problem, but that's what many did the cost of 2-3 hours time technician to fix the problem simply cannot be justified. It is unfortunate that HP provides no instructions for technical people like me who are willing to undertake their own maintenance out of warranty HP products.

  • Photosmart Photosmart-queue frozen 5520:5520

My Photosmart 5520 will not let me delete a print past order, so it does not print anything else.  It is frozen.  I tried to cancel the printing of many times and nothing - it says "delete", but it's not.  I turned on the computer, printer, unplugged the printer - nothing works.  I deleted the other print queues, but this one doesn't.  Any suggestions?

  • Photosmart C5180 - impossible to remove from the queue of the printer

    Hello

I am trying to print something, but I can't delete the first document in the queue (what's more, I want to print). It is frozen on the "remove" status, but nothing happens. I tried restarting both the printer and laptop, but still nothing. Help!

In addition, the State of the printer on my laptop says ' paper' (but not on my printer) and yet it is not paper. Any help very welcome!

    Hello

This can help with the paper stuck in the print queue.

In Control Panel, open administrative tools and select abuse.  Scroll down to the print spooler service, right click and select Properties, then click the Stop button.  Now search for C:\Windows\System32\Spool\PRINTERS, then delete the work inside this folder - you may need to click a command prompt to get the authority to open the PRINTERS folder.

Restart the computer and you should find that the document has been removed from the queue.

    Kind regards

  • My HP Officejet 6500 is frozen to redial in 0 seconds.

My HP Officejet 6500 is frozen to redial in 0 seconds.  Fax Utility check passes.  I can send and receive faxes from my pc software, if the line is not the problem.  I rebooted and unplugged the printer, restarted the pc, etc.  Pressing the red x does not cancel the fax, and I can't print, since the printer is busy thinking that it is faxing. I can't access the Control Panel, as the only available button is the red x. This thing is dead frozen, and I need to be able to print, at least.

    Help, please!

I tried the procedure once, and it did not work. Tried again, and my wife was on the phone. Fax asked if I wanted to cancel the fax programmed, and I said yes. He has sent me to the general starting point, so I think that the problem is solved. If this isn't the case, I'll write again, thanks.

  • HP Color LaserJet MFP M177 Pro: MFP177 frozen screen energy saver logo

My new Color LaserJet Pro MFP M177fw still works, but the front is frozen with the logos of saver hp and energy, which means that there are no features in the control panel. I can therefore use it to manually, make copies, or do something that I would normally with the front panel. I tried everything the hp support asked me to do it (plug it directly into the wall, restart it, hold down the power button for a minute, plug, reconnect everything, etc.) and nothing has solved the problem. It is clearly a hardware problem?

    Hi @eng-ihab,.

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! I see that the printer is locked during initialization. I want to help you solve this problem. If this helps you to find a solution, please click on the button "Accept as Solution" down below in this message. If you want to say thanks for my effort to help, click on the 'Thumbs Up' to give me a Kudos.

The update of the firmware usually fixes this problem, but I don't see one available for Windows 10. If the printer is installed on an older operating system also, I would say to run the update of the firmware with it.

Here is the link: HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M177fw, select the operating system.

I would say to remove all toners, turn on the printer and wait for the printer to the State to reinstall toners manually. Just to rule out a toner not sitting correctly, the origin of this problem.

You can move manually the carousel is not blocked.

Open the scanner cover and cover less than one so you should see the toners.

On the left side of the black frame, you will see an oval hole with a piece of white plastic on the inside.

You will need to use something to press the white plastic piece, at the same time, push the carousel backwards, do not touch the toner however. It must be in good position to get out the toner.

I've included a picture with the region, where to use the manual function of the printer.

Make sure that the print queue is also allowed to leave, I saw this also cause the printer go in initialization.

I can send a private message with some one more step to try.
In the forum next to your handle name simply click on the envelope to see.

If there is anything else I can help you, let me know. Thank you.
