printers disappear

All of a sudden my printers have disappeared from my Windows 7 computer. When I look into the State of print spooler service is "stopped".  If I restart the print spooler with the configure printers show again in the "automatic" Panel  If I clickControl Panel a second time, they disappear.  Also, if I open a print application after restarting the print spooler, it shows no installed printer.  I can't add a printer either.

I tried to restart the computer after you restart the print spooler and which does not save the settings.  He comes back to the top with 'arrested' Printer Spooler   I am confused, can anyone help?

I found the problem. I wrote a document with Pages on my IPad and sent to my email as a Word document, so I could print from my Windows PC. Whenever I opened the document on my PC turns off the print spooler. Now that I have deleted the document that everything works well. Weird!

  • Network printers disappear in Windows 7

I connect to two printers on my office network.  One is a Dell, the other laser printer a HP deskjet printer.  They have worked very well for many, many months, both for me and for my colleagues.

I have recently upgraded to Windows 7, XP and have worked out the kinks.

I noticed today that, after the restart, my network printers are visible in the devices dialog box and printers.  However, at the time when I try to print from Word or Excel (maybe other things as well; they are the only two apps I tried), they both disappear, me leaving no printer.

Excel gives me the message "no printer is installed."

If I try to add printers, I get a message, "Windows can't open add printer."  The local print spooler service is not running.  Please restart the spooler or restart the machine. »

I reboot, they show once again.  Try to print, they disappear again.

Could be a coincidence, but I installed Windows Mobile Device Center 6.1 today.  Don't know what it would be important, however.

    I am running Office 2007.

    Any thoughts?

    Thank you!

    Andy

    Update:
It seems that the problem is caused by Office 2007.  I can print fine go to Outlook, but when I try to print from Word or Excel, printers disappear - and I have to restart to recover.

In addition, nobody else in the Office has the problem.  They can all fine print.

    Thank you!

    Andy

    Andrew,

I'm assuming that your server is configured as a print server. If so, the drivers are stored on the server. When you install the printer, these drivers install on your local workstation. There is a good chance that the server currently has no Win7 drivers installed, you receive the drivers who are probably not compatible with Win7.
A good way to solve this problem is to print directly to the printer, rather than via the print server. Since I am more familiar with Dell printers, I'm going to try to help you get that one up and running.
You can get the Dell printer model?

  • Printers disappear / reappear in the Panel

Hello. My boss has a problem with printers that disappears on his Vista laptop. If it is in our office (or at home) and his ethernet cable is connected, it can see all its printers in Control Panel.
But when he goes to the client's Office and did not a network cable is connected, none of its printers appear in the control panel. All he has to do is to return to our office (or at home), taken in its cable network and printers are visible when it starts.
When its printers are not visible, the only option on the screen is to add a printer. But when he tries to do, it receives the error message: "Spooler Subsystem App stopped working and was closed". I had him start/restart the printer spooler, but it did not help.
But again, whatever he has to do is to return to the office, plug its cable network, the printers will reappear in its control panel and it is capable of printing documents.
In addition, it is Windows Vista service pack 2.
If you can please provide assistance to resolve this, I will appreciate it greatly. Thank you.

    Eric_NPG,

In addition to what Imran Chand provided, have hime check sound program anti-virus or firewall. There was a discussion in another forum that they had to make exceptions for printers in the firewall settings or they would disappear.

  • Printers disappear & sometimes reappear in the Panel

Windows 7 (64 bit) HP Pavillion Desktop P6616f
My HP 2 (Laserjet 1022, Officejet 5610) printers keep disappearing printers & faxes in my control panel. If I disconnect and reconnect the cables to the printer from the USB ports or start the computer with the USB unplugged and plug them in after booting, printers 'sometimes' reappear. I'll print a few things like a Word doc and then all of a sudden, I get a message that there are no printer and (devices and printers) Control Panel no longer has the printer icons. I KNOW THEY ARE THERE. Printers everything worked perfectly for 6 months and then all of a sudden this appear/disappear started happening.
Drivers must be ok that everything has worked well for many months before it started and the o/s remains the same, with the exception of Windows automatic updates which are automatically installed.
Tried to make printer sharing with my laptop which is running Vista several months ago but couldn't get it working. Don't know what parameters were affected, but the HP desktop computer where I have the current problem has always worked with printers. Thanks for the help.

  • Connection CP1215 deletes all printers in xp

I have a CP1215 printer and two laptops XP.

Everything was fine, but now, if I connect to the printer, ALL my printers disappear and I get an error of spooler system. I can restart the spoller, but the printers are always all the missing. So, I have to do a system restore to get back them.

This happens with both my laptop.

    Can printers get the virus?

    Thanks for any help.

To my knowledge, as of yet printers are not targeted by viruses, but that does not mean that a malicious program on your computer could be the cause. We will cross that bridge when we come to it however.

-Very well, we will try to perform a clean and complete uninstall and reinstallation. First of all, if you use a USB cable, be sure to remove it. Do not plug it in again until the software instructs you. Through devices and printers, programs and features and issues Device Manager and make sure that all copies, files, and programs related to the printer are removed. As indicated, and then restart the computer.

The START menu type "%temp%" and press on ENTER. Here, I want you to press Ctrl+A and press on REMOVE. Some files you cannot delete them, ignore these files and delete the majority that allows it to.

Follow this link to download full feature software and drivers of the printer:

What I would do is to uninstall and reinstall ALL printers on the user

By ensuring that you include step 4.

Of course, the Spooler Service is set to restart if it crashes, and
That's why its printers disappear (from the spooler crash) and then reappear
    (as of this restart).

  • Vista print spooler stops

The print in Vista spooler stops when I try to print. He said the strategy adopted by the DEP. All printers disappear. I have to manually restart the spooler service (it is set for the recovery of the car) and it can print for a bit, but the spooler stops again.

    Hello

Since it is a DEP issue with a printer that could be a problem of IE (which concern Explorer and other functions of the system),
a spooler problem, or both. Frankly I don't know that I have 1 but I'd probably use these
    Methods.

EricLaw IEInternals - a peek at Internet Explorer from inside. -Understanding DEP/NX
    http://blogs.msdn.com/ieinternals/archive/2009/10/10/understanding-data-execution-prevention-crashes-in-IE8.aspx

The problem might actually be an add-on or another program to the origin of the problem and you should check that
    1st.

What antivirus/antispyware/security products do you have on the machine? Be one you have NEVER on it
machines, including those that you have uninstalled (they leave leftovers behind which can cause strange problems).

Start - all programs - Accessores - system tools - IE with no Addons - does this work better?

IE - Tools - Internet Options - Advanced - tab click on restore, and then click Reset - apply / OK

IE - Tools - Internet Options - Security - reset all Zones by default level - apply / OK

    not better?

Close IE and try again IE or IE with no Addons

IE - tools - manage Addons (for sure disable SSV2 if it is there, it is no longer necessary but Java always install
"(and it causes problems - you never update Java to go back in and turn it off again)." Search for other possible problems.

Windows Defender - tools - software explore - look for problems with programs that do not look right. Permit
are usually OK and "unauthorized" are not always bad. If in doubt about a program to ask about it here.

Could be that a BHO - BHOremover - free - standalone program, needs no installation, download and run - not all
are bad, but some can cause your question. (Toolbars are BHO)

Also get Malwarebytes - free - use as scanner only. If you ever suspect malware, and it would be
unusual with Prevx market except for an occasional cookie of low level (not a big deal), update it, then
    run as a scanner.

    http://www.Malwarebytes.org/

    I would add prevx so.

Prevx - Home - small, fast, exceptional CLOUD free protection, working with other security programs. It comes

If nothing else works you can try this however I would use as a last resort.

Online - APPLY - OK attacks close and restart IE

  • Operation could not be completed (0x00000005). Access is denied

I'm the admin of a school district.  We are migrating to Windows 7.  I have several print, 32 and 64-bit servers in any district that controls anywhere from 3 to 12 network printers.  All printers are IP based, but each segment has a server that manages the print queue and printer.  I've recently updated printer drivers on each server to facilitate the required drivers for Win7 desktop.  I have configured printers on each workstation for respective printers, they must have access to and did under a computer administrator account.  Everything works fine.  When that I log out and back in as a domain user, the printers disappear or appear with the above error.  User accounts that I try to connect as student accounts and of teachers; two have limited access to the PC as the domain.  Group policies are in force throughout.  For the previous (Win2k, XP) operating systems, this has never been a problem, and to this day, these machines can always print to network printers.  What is this error and how to eliminate it?

  • Update of Acrobat Pro XI crashed the program and the print spooler

I have a brand new 10 windows computer and had installed Acrobat Pro XI which worked great until the latest update has been released. My computer tried to auto install the update and the update failed. Immediately when it failed, it crashed my spooler to print and all my printers disappeared; I was unable to reconnect to them without having to restart the computer.

The Acrobat site suggested that if the update was unsuccessful and failed, I should uninstall Acrobat Pro and reinstall it. Well, I tried that and the problem cascaded gets worse. Acrobat does not provide ANY technical assistance with this kind of thing except through public forums.

When I tried to uninstall Acrobat Pro, as the site of Acrobat has suggested, I ran into the problem with the print spooler again; He could not reset and start. For example, Acrobat Pro can / can not be uninstalled. I tried to 'fix' the installation without success. And when I tried to reinstall the program, it could not properly reinstall because I had to install the 'Adobe Application Manager' that does not install with the following message: "Installer failed to initialize. " Please download Adobe Support Advisor to detect the problem"and has provided a link. Of course, when you click on the link, you get another message, "that The Adobe Support Advisor has been abandoned" direct me to the forums that provide absolutely NO support for that either.

At this point, I lost my * expensive * Adobe Acrobat Pro XI product, with no way to reinstall and no help to fix this Adobe created. In addition, I now have another serious problem with the print spooler.

If * person * helpful suggestions, please send them my way. I'm ready to throw Acrobat altogether and never use one of their products that has been such a mess to deal with.

    Hi rickj90358804,

If you try to install Acrobat XI via Adobe Application Manager, I suggest to download an installer manually using this link: download Pro or Standard versions of Acrobat DC, XI or X and try to install again.

In addition, you can contact the support as kglad mentioned above.

    Kind regards

He is missing, damaged or the wrong version or other files which depends on the printui.dll is missing or damaged, or incompatible.  You can do a sfc/scannow, it should correct the problem if it's one of the files, click here to learn more about the System File Checker: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/310747

If sfc/scannow does not solve things not try this:

Is the file in the System32 folder, but Windows File Protection may not allow to replace, try this:

1 - a copy of printui.dll should be found in the \WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles\i386 folder.

    2. rename the one in \WINDOWS\system32\dllcache printui.dll.old and then copy the folder \WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles\i386 for the dllcache folder.

3 remove the printui.dll file in the \WINDOWS\system32, PAM will be replaced by the one that you have most recently in the dllcache folder.
