Simple fix to open the 6525 HP printer cartridge access door

Press and then release the power button on the upper right of the printer 6525. Once the printer stops and all the lights are turned off, press and keep pressing the power button on the upper right corner of the printer. Continue to hold the power button in until the printer stops its internal implementation mechanism. Now, you can release the power button and open the compartment to the printer.

  • OfficeJet HP 5510 all-in-One - door locked - ink cartridge does not open.

Windows XP Service Pak 3, HP 5510 Officejet, printer, USB connection.

Won't let me open the ink cartridge door.  So, I can not install new ink cartridges.   It started about 3 weeks after I deleted some other software.   When I touch the door to open it, I get this flashing Error Message - "Door open, door close print cartridge."   (but door is not open, it is locked closed).   .   Printer will print documents correct, my problem is that I can't load new ink cartridges.  I could probably force and break on it to open it, but am afraid my printer does not work after that.  I love it and want to continue using it.

Three times, on different occasions, I crossed the steps on your website to reset the printer.  They did not solve it.  I opened the back of the printer and looked for any paper jams and tips or debri.   I took can air and exploded all over where I could, but nothing came out.  I don't have a paper jam, when this started.

Is there a code pin or something to get out, the door somewhere?

If I force rotating door and breaks, the printer works?

Problem started on December 14, 2010.

    Thank you

    Hello Oldlady10,

The 5510 JO has a Center door that goes through the top on both sides. It is possible that the door warped a bit in the middle and create a barrier that will not the door opens without a lot of strength.

Solution: Hold the door with both hands as you open the door, then take both thumbs and press down on the top of the door to repel the distorted area and then lift the pen access door.

  • LaserJet pro 1415: cannot open the cartridge door and prints have red lines on them

First problem was the red lines on the printed pages, now I can't open the cartridge door

Just to close the loop, we decided to force the drawer open, because the printer was unusable anyway even if we have something broken. With a lot of pressure, the drawer open. We then tried to print something and a message there is a paper jam.  We opened the back door to clear paper jam and off broke a spring and a broken then only plastic parts. We cleared the jam and thought that the broken part just came to the door but was clearing of the works.  Then we printed out a page and everything worked fine.  If the door does not close completely because it is missing a piece, so what? The printer works fine. Thanks for trying to help.

  • HP 4620: HP 4620 - cannot open the cartridge door.

I need to replace the cartridges but can't seem to them.  I get the message ' X the door or cover must be closed to print.  Make sure it is completely closed.'  When I try to open the cartridge door.

I read some comments and messages, powered and on a number of times without change and even tried the zipper feared, while the printer is running technical several times, and I can not even open the cartridge door.  Tomorrow I'll call HP support line, everyone knows success with any other technique?

I spoke with the support and the problem is now resolved.  Basically, when I opened my door of printer cartridge it gets about 1 inch upward and feels like it stops and to open it any yet to break something.  When I just go ahead and keep lifting the door, it opens without breaking the hinges or anything else and I'm able to replace the cartridges.  It just feels like it won't break anything to open it, but it's actually correct.   Do not forget that the reason why I have the 4620, it is that I broke my last officejet by forcing the door open when you try to replace the cartridge, so I bought the 4620 to replace.  I affected the hinge on my last Officejet.

My Epson CX7400 worked beautifully until the beginning of this week.  I tried to install a new ink cartridge.  Pressing the button 'stop' as required, the cartridge door refuses to move to the ink cartridge replacement position.  The assistance Center Epson told me that he seems to be a windows problem and suggested that contact this Web site.  Any Suggestions?

    Hi Sue,

Thanks for posting your question on the forum of Microsoft.

The query you have is different from the initial post, this seems to be a hardware problem.

We can try to start the troubleshooter.

    Run the hardware troubleshooting tool.

The convenience store is a tool that will check the hardware attached to the computer for all known with him of the issues and provides details and how to fix them. Follow these steps and run the troubleshooter.

    1. Connect the tablet to the computer.
    2. Click on start.
    3. Go in Panel.
    4. Troubleshooting type in the "search" tab and press enter.
    5. Under material and audio.
    6. Click Configure a device.
    7. Follow the instructions on the screen.

If that's not enough I recommend that you make a diagnosis of equipment by the manufacturer of the printer: Epson Support.

  • HP Photosmart more B210 - display error Message: cartridge door is open!

the window display printer says 'ink cartridge door is open' and made useless printer! I can't do anything, cannot access the menu on printer, just nothing done! I rebooted the cartridges, no luck. Impossible to get a new printer code to reinstall. clues?

Hi Shaysappa, sorry to hear that you have found errors on your printer. If you haven't already done so, connect the printer directly to a wall outlet power cable. The reason why I ask for you to do is just simply because the printer has already constructed in the surge protector and if the product is connected to a bunch of bar /, it will get all the power necessary for the proper functioning and it will give false errors on the screen or on the computer. Here is a link that explains the problems when connected to an uninterruptible power supply/Strip/surge protector power. If this does not resolve the problem, it could also be the sensor in the printer that the cartridge door snaps. If this is the case, you will need to contact HP Total Care at 1-800-474-6836 or if you are outside North America, please contact HP worldwide.

    Thanks for your time.

  • Installation Photosmart 6520 cartridges

I recently bought a 6520 all-in-one television shopping channels factory store, nothing else that Hp printers after buying it in the past, I was really looking forward to using this printer. What hope I noticed that it didn't y no cartridge in the box, so went out and bought ready Hp 364 for large printing wide. Since then when after the installation, I get an error saying the facility put in place the cartridges. These unfortunately we are not included in the box and because that article was sold as seen I couldn't return the printer. After the ring Hp to see if I could buy these cartridges, I was informed then is no longer intend so my two questions are this

1 where can I get these put in place of the cartridges
2 I saw on eBay that they were obsolete, but was informed by the seller, even though they are 364 cartridges installation, they would be unsuitable for my model.

I'm really disappointed, not only in the shop to sell me this printer (in defense they didn't know this problem), but also with Hp, what happens if I got a game and that they were faulty, what will happen?

Hoping someone can throw a glittering ray of light on this problem

Configuration cartridges are only available at HP.  I'll ask one of the HP Support people to enter this one.

  • Cartridge door does not open

I have a Photosmart HP 5510 printer.  I need to replace the black ink cartridge.  I turned on the printer,

but for some reason, I am only able to open the printer a couple of inches.  I can't open the door completely

replace the cartridge.  When I lift on the door, he reads the door is open, but it does not allow me to open the door

completely.  It feels like it is locked and I don't want to force open.  This is the first time for me to change the

    Ink cartridge.

If please advise me on what I can or should do.

    Much appreciated,

    John

I solved the problem myself.  When the power went off, I gave the coverage a bit of a tug and its opening.  I was able to

to replace my black ink cartridge.  I guess since the lid has been opened, that often, it was difficult to

Open.  I'm glad that this was not a problem of hinge.

  • Deskjet 6988 print cartridge 'door' - cannot access ink cartridges

This printer has been giving me excellent service for many years, so I'm not surprised that he can do a little wonky. Yet, any advice would be most appreciated!

Recently, this "door" has popped up, preventing me access to print cartridges:

It seems to say "turn the printer off," or perhaps "turn off and on again," that would be logical, as requiring to do her little dance and restarts. MOST of the time, it does no good. The cartridges just sitting there, and the door rest.

However sometimes turning market causes a mechanism to move, and the door up and down and sometimes stays down.

I saw no references to this 'gate' in the manual. Anyone know what it's called?

Is there a way to force the printer to zero and drop the door? A factory reset did not work.

    Thank you!

    This fixed/figured it out!

Remove the Panel on the right side of the printer. It's like two hooks on the top and two clips on the bottom. Gently pull down to unclip. Upwards, you will see the mechanism that connects the cover to a switch. For me, the wire time the "capture" disengaged, and I need to restore the link so that it is engaged when the lid rises or falls. After that I did, the cartridges behaved normally, and the mysterious "door" is never in the way.

  • What current photo printers use the 178 cartridge ink?

Just take a big lightning hit on my HP Photosmart Premium all-in-One aging and it is a write-off.

Problem is I have about a dozen unopened 178 ink cartridges in a drawer and certainly not want to throw away them.

Are there current HP photo printers that the 178 - and they are all good? I was reasonably happy with the Photosmart Premium (C309 was the model), but there are certainly better machines to print only one photo on the market.

All-in-One or photo only? Photo printing is the priority n ° 1 (amateur, not pro level), followed by regular printing, even if I have another older HP machine which can take care of the day-to-day things. Then comes the scanning and copying. These days, I find I'm using fax very, very rarely...

No matter which input received with gratitude.

    Chris Gibbons

    Hey there Chris

There are a number of printers that take the HP178. Take a look at the Photosmart printer Buying Guide. Something like the series PS 5510 I think would suit.

In any case, have a look at the guide and if there is something more that I can help with just let me know

PS - this guide is intended for the United States you may need to change the location of the country in order to get the right printer model no.s (they vary slightly depending on the region)
